About Org: Assist UK leads a UK wide network of locally-situated Disabled Living Centres. Each centre includes a permanent exhibition of products and equipment that provide people with opportunities to see and try products and equipment and get information and advice from professional staff about what might suit them best.

There are over 325 advisors throughout the network who respond to an average ¼ million enquiries made each year.

Disabled Living Centres also provide a valuable source of information relating to access, design and equipment for daily living. This can be especially useful to carers, older people and healthcare workers, students and manufacturers.

The Network
Assist UK is the National network for advice on independent living equipment. Currently there are over 50 member Centres. Assist UK is the only organisation in the UK to connect clients, manufacturers, regulators and professionals.

Role
Assist UK promotes and supports the development of centres to meet national quality standards for product information and advice. In addition we provide a comprehensive range of services in support of members. These include Exhibitions, Conferences, Training, and Consultancy. About Org: The Bone Research Society (BRS) was formerly the Bone and Tooth Society. The new name was adopted on 6 July 2005, following the Annual General Meeting and a postal ballot of members. The BRS is the largest scientific society in Europe dedicated to clinical and basic research into mineralised tissues, and is the oldest such society in the world.

Meetings are held annually, attracting a wide audience from throughout the UK and, increasingly, from continental Europe. About Org: The National Association for the Relief of Paget's Disease was founded and registered as a charity in 1973, with the following aims:

:~~ To offer support and information to Paget's disease sufferers.

Its founder was the late Mrs Ann Stansfield MBE, whose husband suffered with Paget's Disease for 27 years. Mrs Stansfield had difficulty in finding understanding and interest in, or treatment for, her husband's condition. Although retired herself, she worked tirelessly for many years to raise awareness of the condition, spending many hours writing to universities, hospitals and government departments at home and abroad. Her determination and tireless fundraising enabled many research projects to be undertaken into the causes of the disease, as a result, there is a much better understanding of it.

About Org: JAAV, Janta Adarsh Andh Vidyalaya is a school for visually challenged children. Most of these children are from poor families who cannot take care of their special needs. There are about 115 visually challenged students enrolled with the school. It provides education, boarding facility, clothes, medical and food to these children free of cost.

Janta Adarsh Andh Vidyalaya was founded on 10th Dec. 1970 by Sh. J. S. Sharma, who was himself a visually handicapped. The school got its practical shape on 1st June 1971 starting with 2 blind students.

The institution, started with a dilapidated structure (khandar), on an abundant jungle land owned by Government. Subsequently, a building was constructed through donations.

Janta Adarsh Andh Vidyalaya society was framed and registered in June 1975. It follows all the rules, regulations and governmental directions under the registered society act of 1860. (Registration certificate of society).

The school has been admitting children of all age groups in various classes. It has created facilities for full boarding and lodging, totally free of charge. Parents of visually handicapped children can leave their children for studies and stay. The school strives hard to educate them on State Council of Education Research and Training (Education Deptt. About Org: Leonard Cheshire Disability supports over 21,000 disabled people in the UK and works in 52 countries. Leonard Cheshire Disability exists to change attitudes to disability and to serve disabled people around the world. LCD's principal activity in the UK is the provision of services in support of disabled people in the widest context. These services include care homes, supported living, domiciliary support, day services, resource centres, rehabilitation, respite care, personal support and training and assistance for those looking for work. They operate in all parts of the UK and are the largest voluntary sector provider of care and support services for disabled people.

In the UK, Leonard Cheshire Disability operates through 10 geographic regions, seven in England and one each for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each region is guided by a committee, chaired by a trustee, with members comprising senior regional management, service users, staff representatives and representatives of the volunteer support groups in the region. Each region and the services within it are managed professionally. The responsibilities delegated by the trustees to regional committees are set out in written terms of reference and guidelines are provided to the local and area volunteer support groups. These groups provide practical assistance to the disabled people using Leonard Cheshire Disability services, and fundraise on behalf of the charity.

Internationally Leonard Cheshire Disability has over 255 partners globally and is part of a Global Alliance of non-governmental organisations in 52 countries. It works though its six regional offices based in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Caribbean. The core areas of our work include:
