My Little LivieBug

Olivia turned 4 months about a week or so ago and she has started to do some adorable and amazing things. She now rolls over from front to back and back to front as well as has started to scoot a little, she sits up almost all on her own and now has enough dexterity to hold on to things and with that... she puts everything in her mouth. Olivia started to show signs of teething a few weeks back and although the teeth receded they have started to rise back to the surface and we have a fussy baby again. Without any further adieu here are her 4 month pictures and a few others!

Craigslisting It Up!

A busy bee I have been lately. Some of what has been keeping me so busy, other than Olivia, is craigslist. I admit here and now... I have a problem... but I can quit whenever I want!! I promise!! haha. No but seriously I can totally quit whenever I want.

Here are a few pictures of some of my finds

My new killer rug that I got for 35 bucks!

This was my first find! An antique mahogany side table for only 35 bucks!

I found this desk and a similar one that I got both for... FREE! Yep! The guy originally wanted 30 bucks for each and I told him I saw the same ones at Wal-Mart for 40 brand new so he gave both of them to me for free!

My new oober heavy mirror for only 10 dollars! I also picked up the ACE personal training book for only 8 dollars... awesome deal for sure!

One of my new side tables...

The other new side table (this one is a little nicked up but I am planning on fixing that) and I picked both up for FREE!!! The lady we picked these end tables up from also has the matching entertainment center and is offering it to us for 50... pretty darn good deal!

My other first find my in need of TLC solid oak desk! The broken hinge is kind of a blessing in disguise seeing as how are printer will not fit inside of the space intended for it so we are planning on turning the drop down into a drawer. Not bad for a free desk!

My lovely Ryan picked this Thomasville china cabinet out and asked if it could be his Christmas present... well that was easy! We took this whole wall unit home for only 175 and something similar retails for 1800-2000 so ... my bargain shopping was have rubbed off apparently!

Well those are my Craigslist finds up to date... It has been a huge blessing to receive all of these things that other wise we wouldn't be able to afford! Come things need a good cleaning, some need a little furniture polish and others need a little bit more TLC but all of the items we have picked up have been solid construction pieces! YAY!

Finding joy in the simple things... Like Cake Batter Cookies!!! Mmmm Mmmm Mmmmmmmm...

I LOVE cake batter cookies for two reasons... they are delicous of course and because the are absurdly easy!

This time around I made Funfettie cookies... no decoration needed for these bad boys because the sprinkles are already in the mix!

Here is the recipe if you would like to whip up a batch in... less that 20 min!

1 box of your FAVE cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 c oil

1 Tbs rounded scoop for each cookie is plenty. preheat oven to 350 and bake for about 8 to 10 min.

3.Editor Pant from Express- AH-mazing! This pant fits just about anyone like a glove! Glorious!

4. The new Blastoff Network - So awesome to be able to fully customize your own homepage...everything from what games you want to play, your background, the news you want to hear about and ... what stores you want to shop at! I already have a 20 dollar check in the mail for all the cash back rewards just for last month! WOO HOO!

5.Mekenna Jewelry Armoire by Pottery Barn- Organization is kind of a minor obsession of mine... this jewelry box has tons of storage and organization perfect for the little things that glitter!

6. Nikon D3000 - "Incredibly easy, incredibly fast"... I would love to have this camera to catch all of those fun moments in life! :)

Full of Firsts...

Shots & Whole Foods...

Well lately we have been making some progress... Olivia just had her 2 month check up that had been pushed back about a month and a half. We were out of town when she turned 2 months and when we got back into town I made her appointment then found out the next day that our insurance didn't process right and she wasn't fully covered... so we had to wait.

With Livie up to date on her shots it was time to conquer solid foods. She just didn't seem content with her bottle so I ran to the store and bought a small can of Single Grain Rice Cereal with DHA ... mixed it with formula and then came the mess... oh and it was a mess!!!

She didnt even know what was coming... but look how cute she is! Her out fit is from Grandma Louderback and her blanket is from Grandma Trish...

She was pretty upset after her shots and with a hello kitty bandaid on one leg and a barbie one on the other. She took it like a champ!

Very soon after her shots she fell asleep in her swing while holding her bottle... with assistance that is.

Daddy was very eager to feed Olivia! He had just come home from work and offered to be the first one to feed her! :) We put her in her bumbo she was good to go!

She was much more accepting of the cereal when it was on her fingers instead of the spoon!

Mmm Mmm Mmmmm....

I think she got her eating habits from her mother... haha

Yes... she even got cereal on her tiny little feet... she went strait to her bath after all of this was done.

Chili Cookoff & Trunk or Treat 09!!!!

Chili Cook Off & Trunk or Treat 2009!!!

The turn out this year was GREAT!!! After lots of preparation, coordinating and setup we were able to pull off a pretty darn successful event! Our Chili Cook Off and Trunk or Treat is the biggest event of the year and without fail will have a good handful of non member and less active families attend... which is always a good thing! Here are some pictures of our little shindig!

This is majority of the people that attended ... nearly every seat was filled! Notice the oober awesome spider web that Ryan worked super hard on!!! Im so proud of him!

3 Months!!!

Olivia Mae... 3mo old!

Well... today is the day... Olivia 3 months old... Crazy to think she is 3months old already! In these last three months she has developed a very sweet personality! She laughs, smiles and coos every chance she gets. Olivia has such a beautiful spirit and melts the hearts of all those that surround her. I know I might sound biased... but she really is one of the cutest babies I have ever seen and I feel so fortunate that she is mine!

I haven't been very consistent with my blogging lately... we have been very busy here at the Wolsey household. So with me being behind on my blogging I have also been behind on posting pictures of Olivia... so here are some pictures and a video. By the way... the video is set at an angle... so mom... dad... you are just going to have to turn you heads to the side until I take another video hahah... sorry. But hey look at it this way... at least you guys get to finally see her in action!

Baby It's Cold Outside...

Well... the leaves have started to change into beautiful shades of gold, orange and crimson. There is something magical about watching the leaves change and fall... it is something that is taken for granted a little out here on the east coast and not plentiful enough in the west.

As I have watched the leaves change I have been itching to get things done. A few of the things I need to "change" are:

being more consistent about cleaning the house, not that it is a disaster or anything but I always seem to wait till it all needs to be done instead of doing bits and pieces here and there.
getting my work out on... I have surpassed my recovery phase and need to get the ball rolling and get my body back! I just dont have as much energy as I should and getting back into shape will definitely help aid in that!
being better about updating my blog!!! Yikes... so I am past the point where I can blame sleep deprivation and recovery from keeping me from my blog... no excuses.

Some of the things I was able to get done lately are

changing out Olivia's closet... yep... she is in transition already. She sure has been growing and is creeping closer and closer into those 3 mo. old sizes with a couple more weeks to spare! Ok... so she is pretty much on time with the sizes but... it doesnt feel like it has been almost 3 mo.
changing my hairstyle!!! Yikes that took a leap of faith for sure! I was so nervous to get it cut but at the same time I had talked about doing it for way to long and just needed to get it done already!

Well you can obviously see that I havent been ... changing ... things as much as I should/want to be. Hence the whole... I need to get stuff done attitude.

Does this happen to anyone else or is it just me?!

Hey Everyone! So... I have been a little on the "busy" side here lately but now that September is over... life will most likely level back out and calm down.

Last month looked something like this... 1st week... got ready to fly out to Las Vegas.

2nd week... Spent time in SLC & Vegas for the National PrePaid Legal Convention. I had an absolute blast out there... learned so much and became just over all pumped up about our business and the opportunities it will soon bring.

3rd week... flew home and while recovering from my red eye flight ended up getting sick... got ready to fly back to SLC for more training and a wedding.

4th week... flew out to SLC ... visited friends, visited family, had our family portraits taken, worked on training and building our business and attended our good friend Jeffs wedding. Flew home to NY with a nice new promotion and a few hundies richer! Life is good in PrePaid!

Oh... I almost forgot to mention... before I flew home the first time I cut my hair... yes... I finally cut it and I do have to say... I am rather fond of it!

Frequent Flyer

So many of you know I was out in Vegas for a Pre Paid Legal convention this last weekend. Things didnt turn out the way we had hoped. Ryan had put in for leave which it took nearly a month for them to so conveniently tell him that he could not go. So I went solo... which I was not a fan of but actually turned out to be a rather fun adventure.

Convention itself was terrific! I learned an absurd amount of knowledge and was so fired up about our future in the industry and excited to get back home to my team.

I also got my hair cut... yes... it is short.

As for being a frequent flyer... we are headed back to Utah on monday. My good friend Phatty is going to take family pictures for us, I cannot wait!

So you will have to wait to see the new do!

Olivia's blessing was beautiful and Ryan did a wonderful job! Our little girl is going to grow into such an amazing woman with so many possibilities with all of the promises and opportunities that the Lord has install for her future. I would have loved to have all of our family there for her special day but... life happens. We were fortunate enough to have such wonderful neighbors who love Livie so much and were able to attend her blessing. In her blessing circle were all three members of the bishopric Bishop Dennis, Bro Jensen, Bro Barzee along with Bro Siglin, Bro Walsted, Bro Jared Jensen and Elder Wagner.

A few things that were mentioned in her blessing were that Olivia would prove to be a strength to her family and many around her. The Lord will bless her as she grows into a healthy girl and young woman. She will be an example to those around her and be the means by which many will come unto Christ. She will be married in the temple and raise righteous children.

It was a beautiful day everything from the sunny weather to the wonderful spirit that filled the air. I am so grateful to be apart of this gospel that allows us to be so connected with our Savior and provides us with such milestone days like baby blessings.

Things Are Changing...

Playing Catch Up...

Well... I have been neglecting my blog, to say the least. Things have just been a little busy around here with having to adjust to parenthood, Ryan going back to work, going full steam ahead with our Pre-Paid Legal business and we now have ROOMMATES! They are great! Our friends needed a place to stay for the time being and we have an extra room with plenty of space... so why not. They have been great to have around too. Maddie and Jeremy have both been wonderful company and treat Olivia like the little princess she is.

I know you are dieing to find out more about little Livie. Well... she is 6 1/2 weeks old and is finally starting to fill out her newborn outfits... some are still a little roomie but that doesnt hurt my feelings since it just means she will be able to fit into them later. We havent weighted her since she was 2 weeks but I would say she is about 9 1/2 lbs and close to 23 inches long. That is just a guess though.

Quick Check Up

So today we had a nurse come to visit (standard procedure here in NY) to check on Olivia and Me. These are our stats so far:

Olivia is now:

2 weeks old
22" long (She grew an inch! That is crazy!)
7lb 12 oz (Chunkin up right along!)

All other things checked out fine and she has yet another thumbs up! Yay for a healthy baby!

Momma is now:
143lbs.

Last time I weighed in was a week before delivery and I was at 167lb. That was the best weight loss program EVER! Hey look I lost 20lbs in two weeks! Well the rapid drop of weight got me a concerned look from the nurse. She requested that I continue to keep up a health appetite and to not forget to drink plenty of water... oh and no working out will I get the thumbs up from my doctors.

So what am I doing right now... drinking water... eating chocolate cake and laying in bed updating my blog. Just what the nurse ordered!

we had her first Dr. Appt and her pediatrician Stephanie Jorgensen said she was Perfect! Already back to her birth weight at less than a week old.

She has been such an amazing blessing in our lives... who would have thought after all that pain, nausea and all of the other lovely side effects of pregnancy we would be blessed with such a BEAUTIFUL baby girl. One of the first things I said to Ryan after she was born was "We made a good one!" A good one she is... sleeps well... eats well and as Ryan found out... poops well too!

Barefoot & Pregnant... and still doing most of the cooking...

Here is the update for 38 weeks...
Not dialating yet but pretty good progress as far as baby Olivia is beginning to drop a little more each day.

I had lost a pound the last visit and this visit... I gained 7 pounds... 3 1/2 lbs in each foot! Wanna see!?
WOO Mama!!! Those are some sexy kankles... like the Vienna sausage toes too?! I am pretty sure none of you are getting as big of a kick out of this as my dad... love you too Papa!

Well that is about it. Baby is good... Mama is good... and toes are nice and plump!

The Hardwood Floors... Take 3...

A VERY Sore Husband & A Very Happy Pregnant Wife...

So Ryan and I have been working on these darn hardwood floors for so long. We moved into our house the second week of May 2008... and that was the week we started stripping stain and sanding them down. Well if I had known we wouldnt touch them again for nearly a year... I would have just left them alone. BUT. I didnt so we lived with unfinished hardwood floors for a little over a year. We started back at them again because well... we have a bit of a deadline with my due date coming here in 2 weeks. I guess that is the good journalist in me to wait till the very end to pump out quality work haha.

We recruited the missionaries (they are so kind to give up hours of time to help us out... I feed them well though I promise!) a few different sets over the past year to be exact, sanded down the floors to perfection and started staining away. Another close member to us, Brother Walsted, came to our rescue (well Ryans rescue that is since I cant exactly be of much assistance with a prego belly in the way) and we finished laying down the stain and closed shop for the night. The stain has taken HAINOUSLY long to dry and is now finally ready to be sealed and finished.

The last bit of stain being applied... this was at 12:30 last Saturday night... He is one tired boy!

Once the polyurethane is on and dry I will take more pictures and post a good before and after. Oh and 38 weeks is coming up soon... I will post some LOVELY belly pictures! I promise I will keep the none existent belly button to myself this time.

37 Weeks... What A Busy Week This Has Been... So Far...

The Baby Shower!!!
(WARNING: This is kind of a long post but is full of pictures!)

Friday was my 37 weeks point and what a day it was! Had a Dr appointment followed by my baby shower! My Dr appointment went wonderfully and my baby shower was FABULOUS!!! There were a few people who helped out with the shower but it was put on by my good friends Jenilyn & Krista. The treats were to die for ... arent the cupcakes beautiful?!

The gift table... which a few gifts were added to after I took this picture.

One of the games they had planned for the night... baby sock matching... in under 30 seconds. Britney was the winner, apparently she really likes doing laundry... hey someone has to.

My first present to open for the evening... Cindy had made me this beautiful baby blanket. I had to open it first because she hadnt finished it yet and wanted me to see what she was making for me. She still had the needles left in (so she could finish it obviously) and when I pulled it out of the bag I was nervous because I thought she had started it and wanted me to finish it! I dont really know how to knit so that would have been a rather interesting gift... I was reassured when she said ... "ok now give it back so I can finish it for you!" I cannot wait to see the finished product!

Some of my other gifts that I recieved... I had so many to open it was great! :) I am very grateful for all the people who attended and sent gifts! :) I had a wondeful time and couldnt have asked for a better shower!

Majority of the things that have been given to us as gifts or hand-me-downs. I feel so blessed to have so many caring and generous people in my life!

This cake one of my friends Torrie made for me... between Ryan and I we have demolished around half of it already... SO DELICIOUS!

Well that was the Baby Shower... next post... Finishing the Hardwood floors... a year and some change work of progress.

Just One Of Those Days...

So today could easily be considered to be one of my least productive and uneventful days since being pregnant.

I have been so ridiculously sick all day that the thought of moving made me queasy and to top it off... I was so exhausted that I literally just fell asleep... in the middle of doing something. Add in a random hip pain that has decided to come out of no where, a very excited puppy who just wants to play and a cat that desperately wants to venture out in the great outdoors.

All of this at 8 months pregnant with a baby in my belly who is a very VERY active little girl... trust me I have the bruises to prove it.

I didnt get a thing done today... and there is LOTS to get done. The most productive thing I have done all day is take Zoe out to go potty... I guess it is only 5:00... there is still time left in the day to get stuff done... right?!

36 Weeks... Aint No Turning Back Now!

So today I woke up a little earlier (6:30 BTW), I took Zoe out to go potty and then fixed Ryan some breakfast before he quickly jetted off to work.

I hopped on the computer to check email, created a list of things to get done today, loaded the dishwasher, cleaned up after breakfast, brought the garbage can back from the curb and after sitting in bed trying to fall back to sleep I realized I wasnt going to get anymore rest. I checked the weather from my phone to see what I should prepare myself for... sure enough more rain.

So... what did I do at 36 weeks pregnant?! I went outside to pull weeds and plant flowers! I wanted to beat the rain since it has been raining constantly for the past couple of days.

Here are some pictures of my morning accomplishments... This was all done before 10.

Here are some pictures of my belly... Did I mention my belly button has decided to go on vacation while I have been pregnant? Yeah, it just one day disappeared (It is about 98% gone). So I provided pictures for your viewing entertainment of my disappearing belly button as well as how big my belly has gotten.

(Hey look I take up the whole frame! You like the tiny stretch marks that sprouted over night?!)

(Look Ma... no belly button!!! You can kind of see where it used to be but believe me... it isnt there anymore!)

I couldn't resist putting this picture up of Zorro... I came in the Computer room the other day and found him passed out in the window sill... he didnt even flinch through all 5 pictures I took of him.

(Isnt he cute?! Yes he is in fact laying on that oh so comfortable plastic peice of the window frame)

As for an update on the pregnancy... I had my first weekly Dr appointment yesterday and he said everything looks and sounds great! My blood pressure looked great & I gained 1/2 a pound from the week before, I am up to 160.5 lbs. He laughed when I asked him if my belly button was ever going to come back... he reassured me that it would in fact return to normal! As for little Olivia ( I sure hope this baby doesnt turn out to be a boy or I am going to have to serious explaining to do one day) she is MOVING & SHAKING!!! My stomach has started to look like a waterbed with all of the activity... she actually has been giving me bruises from kicking so hard!

Well there you go... 36 weeks pregnant and still truckin along... just at a much slower pace!
