Dresses, Dresses, Dresses

This afternoon I had my 1st meetup at my home and we did dress cards. I had a wonderful lady, Sarah, over and it ended up just being the 2 of us, but we had a good time. And guess what, she loves the BIG SHOT now!! I made all of the cards different and they all had some kind of little twist to them. I hope you like what you see and I will take some more individual pictures of them when I get a chance. Thanks Sarah for a wonderful afternoon.

Diva's Coffee Break Design Color Challenge #132

Its Diva Day!! yay and its a color challenge!! I so love to have new colors to try to make something with. I think I did it with this one. This card is actually for my hubby for fathers day from me. Shhhh. He has been working so hard on the outside of our house and also on the inside, that he deserves a complete day of doing NOTHING!!

Happy Birthday too me W/ The Diva Challenge!!

Well today is another Diva Challenge with sketch and also my Birthday!! How old you ask? 28!Hee Hee!! Yep,....... and if you believed that... GOD BLESS you and you are my best friend in the whole world. Nope honestly if you add 10 to that number you know my age. Yep hitting the big 40 slowly but surely. But for now I will just be totally happy with my age now!!
So for this challenge I made myself a birthday card!! I hate to play the blues, but its the one of the 3 card I have gotten and I had higher hopes for more cards, but OH well. Tammy Fite and Susan Timmerman sent me 2 birthdat Rak's this week and I was so surprised!! Thanks ladies!!

So for my card I used my favorite colors Chocolate Chip and Pink (any pink) along with the Cupcake Stamp set that THANK GOODNESS they are NOT retiring or I would cry!!

Recipe:

LNS Challenge 22 - Embossing

This card was absolutely so fun to make that I think I might have gotten carried away with the embossing. You want embossing, you got it, both Dry and Heat... LOL And the aluminum embossing technique that I did was super cool once I finished it.

I started out with the Ballet Blue Background CS, layered it with Basic Gray and Brushed Silver.
The Brushed Silver is Dry embossed with the Small Dots from the SU Textures Backgrounds.
On top of that is 1" strips of DSP from the Patterns 11 Hostess Pack in Basic Gray and layered with Ballet Blue. I added the newer Silver Brads to the ends and used dimensionals to attach.
The next step is my favorite. I used the SU Textured Backgrounds again on Brushed Silver and dry embossed it with the argyle pattern.
Then I took my veramark pad and rubbed it on the entire piece of paper.
I applied clear embossing powder and heat embossed it.
I then took the paper piercer and pierced all of the diamond edges to look like a tool box.
The Brushed Silver is layered with Basic Gray and Ballet Blue CS.
Then I took the sentiment from All Holidays, stamped it on Whisper White CS in Basic Gray.
I colored in the "D" with a Ballet Blue Marker and embossed the whole thing.
Layered again with Ballet Blue and Basic Gray CS and added the Silver Brads to the edges of the sentiment.
Dimensionals were used to attach.
I then punched the arrows out of Ballet Blue.
Clear embossed the edges of the large one and total embossed the smaller ones.
Added the sentiment from Three Little Words "I love You"
Attached all the arrows.

We gave it to my husband because he just found out yesterday that he has Strep throat and he is miserable and he loved it. He said its very shiny and manly. So my attempt at this challenge is completed. I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial on how I made this card.

Diva's Coffee Break Design Sketch Challenge #129

Hello stampers. Today is another diva challenge and this weeks challenge is a sketch. I must say I don't know why but this one did me in. It really challenged me!!

But this is what I came up with using my Petals Simply Scrappin set.

This is a close up of her. I gave him some googlie eyes and I think she's just adorable!!

I also used the build a brads and use the scalloped paper to make the brads.

I love Wednesdays!! Its another COLOR challenge and this one was a real bugger for me. I dont know why these colors were not working for me but I really was struggling with this one. Diva's Coffee Break Design Sketch Challenge #127

This was a super fun sketch to play with. Along with the fact that I have been creating all day for my craft even this weekend and next and I was super energized with a creative mind to play along with this sketch.

So for my take on this I used the Bella Rose paper that I have NEVER ever used and oh my is it gorgeous. Then I cracked open my brand new butterfly die cut for my Big Shot and made my butterfly. I think I had the most fun with him/her.

Can you see his/her cool tentacles that I made out of hemp twine? Boy was I being creative let me tell you!! Pink round brads for a little Bling and body and a little ribbon and I was done. This was so super fun to make. Now for the punch....... I double dare you to go over to the Divas Blog.... www.divacoffeebreakdesigns.blogspot.com and make one of these and upload it to the site. Diva's Coffee Break Design BIG SHOT Challenge #126

Today is BIG SHOT day!!! And I am loving my Big Shot lately. I got a new die that I am playing with now, and will show you gals later but for today I am using the Scalloped Circle and the Birds on a Branch dies. I was so unsure if these colors were going to work and I really had nothing in mind what to do today so I went through my precut card paper ( I cut my paper in half and store it on my desk so that I have to play with colors I don't always play with) It makes you go out of your box sometimes and play with those lonely papers that don't always get used. But anyway, I came up with this sweet card thinking of someone special in my life that I am missing right now. So this cards for you, sweetie!!

It's DIVA COFFEE BREAK ...... Wednesday SKETCH time!! Woo hoo. This is such a simple sketch I hope to see tons of you playing along on the Diva's Blog. I loved making this card and even though it is an easy card, you all know me.... more is more!!!

How cute is Mr Birdie (oh I should have made it a her with the flower) oh well!! I clear embossed the square scallop and it turned really dark on me. Thats the only thing I don't like about my card. It is Pacific Point but you would think it was a navy something or other. Gesh!!

And here's a close up of all that sparkle and shiney-ness that I HAD to put into my card!!

Bling Bling is my middle name today!!

Water Coloring Roses for Mother's Day

Today I have been playing with the embossed 5th Avenue rose and the water coloring technique that has been taught at the Regionals. I got my inspriration from the very talented Patty Bennett, where you can see her wonderful VIDEO tutorial and be inspired to play along also. You will thank me and Patty. I will tell you that I did use watercolor paper though and it worked beautifully. The shimmery white paper does give it alot of sparkle and I am awaiting some sample of paper from a friend to arrive in my mailbox.

Ok well today is a glittery day full of sunshine and the highlight of the week being Sunday, the Lord's Day and I wanted to share something I thought was unique and yet full of bling. This is card was alot of fun to make because I tried out something I have never done before and that it the super cool ribbon on the right side of the card that looks sewn but is not.

All you do is start at the bottom and use your mini glue dots and keep making over and over the little bunched up scallops of ribbon. You must use the glue dots or TRUST ME the card will only stay together for maybe 20 minutes. :)
I used the chunky glitter across the bottom of the card and just ran a strip of Red Sticky Tape to adhere the glitter to the card. Then for the flowers I used my 2 way glue stick to adhere the glitter to the flowers.

This is another card that was sent to Sherrill Graff for being hired and this was a simple yet very easy to demo card. I even went as far as to change around the colors and made the next card .

I used the going grey for this one and also the matching taffeta ribbon. I am sure hoping that she liked these cards.

Stamps: Pocket Sillhouettes
Paper: Going Grey, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, DSP Urban Garden
Ink: Basic Gray, Pretty In Pink

Accessories: Taffeta ribbon, scalloped edge punch, small and large oval punches

I made this card from the Heartfelt Blessings stamp set and also used the Happiness Background Stamp set I used Pale Plum and Perfect Plum along with the striking Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon. Hello Divas!!!!!!!! Yes its Wednesday again and I am so in love with these colors!! This pic was sent to us by our own Diva, Kristin Moore. I actually thought this was super cool from the minute I saw it and thought this was really going to be a challenge to put these colors together. But actually it was alot easier to do once they started falling into place.

I had to keep on making a few more wedding cards and so this fit right in and I think this is going to be a stunning card for a lucky someone. Not sure who yet, but someone. :)

Challenge 16 on Latenightstampers

Mary Jo and Tiffany have a great challenge for us using a sketch. When I 1st saw it, I was honestly stumped. I couldn't think of anything to do. But I broke out my "To Have and To Hold" set because I need to make some wedding cards and I DID IT!! And I love it!!

I however had to turn my card sideways and be a little different because my idea for the brads being layered with the black made them too long. Oops. But I think it turned out great.

A Box of Goodies

I made this super sweet box today filled with a bunch of handmade stationery goodies. I got the inspiration from the talented Krista Vissen-Driessen who gave me the directions on how to make this cute box.

This is all that is in the box.

This thing holds alot of stuff, I was actually shocked once I put it all in.

Here is the cutie patootie box empty.

This is the outside detail. I used the scallop punch around the sides. I also added some ribbon around the edges to meet them together.

This is a post it note holder (which I used my bind it all on) a mini gel pen, and a paper clip.

This is the mini composition book that I covered and also the 3 1/4" note card and matching envie that I added to the set.

I had alot of fun making this set and now that I am a pro with no mistakes, will make some with my Stampin Up paper tomorrow. Check back to see some more.

Diva's Coffee Break Design Sketch Challenge #123

Yay another week of Diva's Coffee Break Designs. I absolutely love designing with our lovely Diva's. Everyone has one take or another on the great challenges and its alot of fun to see how everyone views it.
We had a great Easter Sunday with a great church service, then we took off to Lowe's ( oh we have been living there for the past 3 weeks working on a total remodel of our bathroom ) and then we came home and just chilled out. My husband made a great lunch for us, he worked on the bathroom on the finishing touches and we ended up at my in-laws for a couple hours.

My youngest son was absolutely so cute this Easter, as I am trying to be good Christian parent and explain to him that Jesus died for our sins, and then on Easter Sunday He Resurrected and rose from His grave. A man met the 3 women at the tomb to tell them not to weep that He would be with them always. Hunter's eyes got very big when I was trying to tell him this in 6 year old terms. But in the end I am pretty sure he knew why we have Easter and its not just all about the eggs and bunnies. Afterwards he did ask a very good question that my husband got to explain, "How does Jesus dying for our sins, and resurrecting have anything to do with the Easter Bunny and Eggs?"

So here is my bright and cheerful Birthday card. I have been hoarding this paper forever and I just had to use it. I also just received my scallop circle punch and wanted to use that also.

Diva's Coffee Break Design BIG SHOT Challenge #122

I am back and with both hands finally!! I am so excited to be playing again with all of you and for this weeks challenge to be the Big Shot. I just received the Manhattan Flower embossing folder and I had to use it. I started out with Pale Plum for the background and then used the Blush Blossom underneath of the cardstock vellum to create this look.

I used a dauber and sponged Pale Plum ink onto the vellum hitting only the embossed lines that were sticking up. I am not at all a purple person, but OH my do I love this card.

I am not creating today as I am a little pain with my newly UNCASTED wrist. I had my 1st PT session yesterday and they worked my wrist to the bone. YOOOOWCH!!! BUT I am on my way to a complete recovery and ever so excited. Also THANK YOU for the prayers on the unexpected surgery 2 weeks ago. Boy that one was a surprise. But again, all is good, and I am mobile now.

I used the super cool set called Polka Dot Punches. If you don't have this stamp set you need to get it fast. Saleabration is over March 31st. This set uses all punches and is so trendy. I had to have this one the most of all of them.
