Los Angeles - Hollywood Sign

After renting the car, we made a trip down to Hollywood area to visit the ever famous sign. LOL! :P The houses here were freaking beautiful too!

Travelling to Los Angeles...

Finally back from the States on Tuesday and happy to breathing the air and indulging in all my favorite Malaysian FOOD! I seriously got sick of sandwiches, omelete and sausages - my everyday meal in the last 2 weeks. I was darn happy to fulfill my cravings of instant noodles when I got back :P

The trip was all in all fantastic but I was soo exhausted from the hectic trip with packed schedules back-to-back from day 1.

I made a stop over at Los Angeles and San Francisco before making my way down to Atlanta, Georgia for the conference. I have way toooo many photos to share so do stay tune kayz!~~

Missing in action for almost a week due to my trip to the United States to attend the Microsoft Global Exchange conference at Atlanta.

Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant, Avenue K

Ah Yat Abalone Restaurant has long echoed its name in the food industry, offering an extensive selection of dim sums and Chinese cuisines. Aside being famous for its abalone, Ah Yat is also an all time favorite place for food goers craving for Chinese delicacies.

They have numerous branches around in Malaysia and even at Genting Highlands. One fine afternoon, a group of us decided to splurge and pamper ourselves with some good food at its newly open branch at Avenue K during lunch hour.

Final Day @ Hong Kong - FOOD SPREE 2

My one final post on Hong Kong is here at last! LOL! :P

Let's quickly have a view of what we indulged on the final day before taking off from Hong Kong to travel back to KL via Macau.

The supreme beef brisket soup restaurant near Yau Ma Tei! This was one of the best restaurant serving assorted noodles! Brisket is a cut of meat from the breast or lower chest. The beef brisket is one of the eight beef primal cuts.

Extensive range of noodles and rice... phew... i don't know what to choose lee.... haha!

Final Day @ Hong Kong - FOOD SPREE 1

Weeee my new boss will be in this coming week... I can't believe I survived 3 months without an immediate manager and having to orchestrate many things at work! Anyway all the hard efforts paid off when I received some good news earlier this week and I'll be off to attend the Microsoft conference at Atlanta in 11 days. The best moments in my career thus far :P

I am excited as I'll be stopping by at Los Angeles and San Francisco before making my way to Atlanta. This mean I'll be away from Malaysia for 2 weeks! :)

Ok back to more Hong Kong FOOD Spree shall we? I'm almost done with my blogging on Hong Kong... ehhehe...

I had lunch at Fairwood near Causeway Bay... Fairwood (Chinese: 大快活) is a fast food chain offering Chinese and Western food at affordable prices. Fairwood serves a blend of Chinese, Japanese and Western cuisine. The menu changes throughout the day and is split into 4 meal times: Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Dinner.

Dinner Time @ Yau Ma Tei....

Yau Ma Tei (traditional Chinese: 油麻地 or 油蔴地) is one the famous district for its endless shopping and yummy food. Definitely not to be missed for shopping fanatics and food lovers like me... tsk tsk...

After a tiring day out at Stanley Market and Repulese Bay, we headed back to Yau Ma Tei near our hotel for dinner...

Vermicelli soup with beef balls and pork wan tan dumplings! YUM! :P

Nicely stew minced beef with rice, egg and "Ham Choy"

More food along the famous streets... you get to snack around as you walk... lol! Yau Char Kway priced at HKD 7 per piece, definitely more expensive than KL where you can get it less than RM 1 per piece..

Assorted HK street snack... the only thing I ever tried from the store was their curry fishballs which looked more decent than the rest... hahaha....

Stopped by for some dessert before we called the night off... really exhausted from all the walking and shopping around... :)

Watermelon and honeydew dessert nicely blended... it comes with huge chunks of cincau jelly too...too milky for my liking though...

I opted for their red bean dessert... wasn't that good though, maybe I was too full and tired. Final post on Hong Kong up next, the final day and what we did eh? More FOOD of course! Have a great weekend cause it's Friday finally... :)

Father's Day Celebration @ Duck King!

Hardly had time to blog and I have yet to finish my post on Hong Kong yet. I'll continue the food spree after this special blog post.

HAPPY FATHER's DAY to the world's BEST dad anyone could ask for. Thanks for giving me each and every single little thing I wanted. I could never ask for more. :)

It was Father's Day last weekend and it's a usual tradition to celebrate and shower daddy with love. :) We had dinner at Duck King Restaurantin Jaya One, Petaling Jaya where mummy made a reservation way before that.

Duck King, already a household name in Indonesia, flew into Malaysia barely two months ago. It's located at Jaya One, a new concept commercial and retail centre in Section 13 of Petaling Jaya, Duck King appears to have found a firm following amongst the office crowd and families from the surrounding residential area.

Let's see the yummy food we had! :)

Stanley Market, Hong Kong Island....

After Repulse Bay, we took a stroll down to Stanley Market, another famous tourist attraction selling authentic chinese souvenirs. A little similar to the China Towns you find around :)

There are several small Chinese restaurants in the marketplace and a small old "Dai pai dong", one of the few left in Hong Kong. There are a variety of restaurants along the seafront too.

The nearby Stanley Main Street offers many larger restaurants, both Western and Chinese, and is a popular spot to see and be seen on the weekends.

The many little shoplots selling souvenirs and very expensive too. I think I can get these at half price in China.. hahaha...

We had lunch at Stanley Restaurant Chinese & Thai!

Pork Ribs marinated and deep fried to perfection. Topping the ribs with yummy garlic was match made in heaven... LOL! Pretty big portion for 2 person...

Even the noodles came in a huge serving! Fried udon in black pepper sauce and assorted seafood.

After the sumptous meal, we continued our journey along Stanley Main Street... Here you see many western style cafes and restaurants selling western cuisines, beer, cocktails and etc. You get to enjoy the sea view while sipping your drinks too...

Repulse Bay, Hong Kong Island

Repulse Bay, located in the southern part of Hong Kong Island, is the most spectacular bay in the region. Today, Repulse Bay is a luxurious residential area for dining, relaxation, and aquatic activities. The beach stretches long with clear azure blue water gently lapping the seashore.

Zhenhai Tower Park, built in the traditional Chinese style, is located near the beach. Huge statues of the Queen of Heaven and the God of Mercy (Kwan-yin) sit in front of the park.

Upon arrival after a ride of the bus... you get to see a clear view of the beach!

In addition, the area is dotted with hotels, supermarkets, and cafes. Houses too are situated on the top of the hill...

Day 3 @ Hong Kong...

Here are more photos the next day. After a tiring trip to Disneyland the day before, we decided to explore Stanley Market and Repulse Bay next. :P

Stanley Market is one of the must-go places for tourists when they visit Hong Kong. You will find an interesting array of little shops selling silk garments, sportswear, art, Chinese costume jewelry and souvenirs. While a bit "touristy" if you are a tourist it will certainly help you to cross off all the items on your souvenirs-to-buy-list. Things here are over priced and I reckon to shop at Wong Kok or Yau Ma Tei. :P

Before we headed off, detoured to have breakfast at the HK Cafe near to our hotel. Hot bowl of nissin noodles in soup! Nothing fantastic though but nissin a.k.a instant noodles seems to be popular amoung food-goers in HK!

After the nissin noodles breakfast, we weren't satisfied and hence the 2nd round - Polo Bun, eggs and ham! I just LOVE their polo buns. The bread was soft and fluffy and you could taste the strong buttery flavor that came with it.. Aww in heaven :P I want more!

Causeway Bay! We needed to board a bus from the bus station here to reach Stanley Market and Repulse Bay... It was drizzling....

Hong Kong Disneyland - Fireworks!

Before I start, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAYS to Uncle Jit and Suet Wen who turned 24 this June! LOL! All the best and many happy returns of the day. Will blog about that later :)

Here comes the finale of Hong Kong Disneyland amazing experience. I just don’t know why; it feels good to be drown in a world of mysteries and adventures, fairytales that I wished were true but well… all in all a good trip! :)

As promised earlier, below are more photos of the spectacular firework display and the dinner we had later in the night at Yau Ma Tei.

After the fireworks, we left and headed back to Yau Ma Tei for dinner. We were dead hungry and picked Portland cafe. What else is there huh? Hong Kong FOOD of course! LOL!

Disneyland - More photos!! :)

Aloha people, I'm still not done with the Disneyland photos yet. Here are more! :P

Thank God it's Friday today. The week just flew by once again without realizing. Lots of work as usual, everyone is pretty much bogged down with the new fiscal year planning. My new boss will be on board in July, the first quarter on the year. Looking forward! :) Another foreigner from India! Perhaps I'm destined to work with different foreign bosses?

Oh yeahhh! I also confirmed my upcoming trip in August, during the Merdeka week. This time I’ll be heading to Australia for a visit, mainly in Gold Coast and Melbourne. I am excited, never been there before. Been doing quite a couple of research during the weekends and working out the one week itenery. :)

Hong Kong Disneyland!!!!

Weee this is my favorite part of the whole trip to Hong Kong! Throwing myself to a whole new world of fairytales and cartoons, indeed it was a fulfilling trip as we spent the entire one day there! :)

This is the fifth Disneyland style park, the park is located on reclaimed land in Penny's Bay, Lantau Island. The park consists of four themed lands similar to other Disneyland parks: Main Street U.S.A., Fantasyland, Adventureland and Tomorrowland.

We pre-booked our tickets online to avoid the crowd and it was approx RM 175 per entry ticket during peak seasons. It wasn't that huge as compared to the Disneyland I visited in Tokyo, we managed to complete all 4 theme parks in one day before we settled at night for the spectacular fireworks! :)

Little Cart Noodles 車仔麺 @ Yau Mai Tei

Cart noodle is a kind of à la carte noodle which became popular in Hong Kong in the 1950s through independent street vendors operating on roadsides and in public housing estates in low-income districts, using carts.

You find 車仔麺 almost everywhere you go in Hong Kong and I simply adore it! :P You can to choose and opt for your favorite toppings - fishballs, beef balls, beef briskets, wantan dumplings and even more! :)

After 1st round breakfast of dim sum done, we detoured to this HK cafe below for more FOOD!

Bestie bought and ta pao roasted duck as "starters"! LOL! The skin was nicely roasted and very crispy, and the meat was just nice and tender! yum yum! :P

The famous polo bun breakfast set that comes with sunny side ups and ham! OMG! It was darn good and I started having cravings for polo bun back in Malaysia... heehe...

Dim Sum - Reclamation Street - Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong

More food spree we had at Hong Kong!! tsk tsk... :P

Before shooting off to Disneyland, the food lovers decided to have dim sum nearby our hotels at Yau Ma Tei. Bestie selected this Chinese restaurant by the Reclamation Street for some hot yummy Chinese dim sums!!!

Dim sum is the name for a Chinese cuisine which involves a wide range of light dishes served alongside Chinese Tea. Dishes may include meat, seafood, and vegetables, as well as desserts like egg tarts and fruits. The items are usually served in a small steamer basket or on a small plate. :)

The famous street at Yau Ma Tei... Look for this street and locate your recommended dim sum shop! :P

Looks pretty classy from outside but prices were pretty reasonable! Let's see what we had shall we? :P

Food Lovers in action - camwhoring before the FOOD arrives...

The all time favorite "Har Kow" a.k.a prawn dumplings! These plump snacks filled with shrimp and bamboo shoots are famous for a smooth, shiny skin that is nearly translucent. Really delicious as the skin was just perfect, neither too thick or too thin.. hehe...

Chee Cheong Fun... We opted for the prawn filling... A rice noodle roll (also translated as steamed rice roll) is a Cantonese dish from southern China and Hong Kong, commonly served as a variety of dim sum... it was served hot and tops with braised soy sauce. RAWKS! :P

"Siu Mai" - another chinese dim sum delicacies... Its standard filling is a combination of ingredients, consisting primarily of seasoned ground pork, whole and chopped shrimp! Awesome... it was HUGE and juicy...

"Xiao Long Bao" literally means "Little Basket Bun" a.k.a soup dumpling! These dumpling buns are traditionally steamed in bamboo baskets and best to eaten HOT! *slurrp* The soup inside was soooo tasty!

A satisfying meal indeed! Is it the end? NOPE! Next up where we headed for 2nd round of breakfast before Disneyland? Stay tune! :)

Hong Kong - Lan Kwai Fong!!!

When you're at Hong Kong, you can never miss the famous Lan Kwai Fong. :)

Lan Kwai Fong is one of Hong Kong's premiere dining and entertainment destination. This world renowned district is home to over 100 restaurants and bars. Just around the corner from the city's busy Central business district, it's the perfect place for after work drinks, dinner with friends and a great night out!

Hence after dinner, we detoured to Lan Kwai Fong and picked one of the happening bars for some drinks! :P

Wah got police somemore.... you can see lots of "ang mohs" there... hanging out for some drinks and everyone was nicely dressed!

We tried out California Tower - one of Hong Kong’s hippest venues with its big airy windows for people watching. A restaurant with a diverse menu during lunch and dinner, it transforms into a busy bar scene with dancing every Friday and Saturday night. I love their live band playing jazz music that night! Awesome ambience but drinks were a little so so...
