Homestay in Victoria BC Canada

Homestay Descriptions:

We have a 6 bedroom home in a quiet middle class neighbourhood with very convenient access to many busses to downtown, University and local college.

Because we have a young daughter, we prefer to only host female students.

Hostfather has a 240 hour TESL certificate

Rules:

Our only rules are that we do not allow male students to enter female students bedrooms. Otherwise, we only ask that students treat our home with the same rules that they would find in their own homes.

Procedures:

Use of our phone is as required with consideration of other members of our home. High speed Internet is available on four computers with muliple languages. Laundry facilities are available, but the student is responsible for doing their own laundry.

Activities:

Students are included in everything we do and are more than welcome to join our family as a daughter. If they prefer to be with friends, we understand and support them too.

Prices:

Our homestay fees are $650.00 (Canadian) per month and include all meals. Hot dinner is provided, breakfast is "help youself" and lunches are packed for them, although we prefer that the student is involved in deciding the ingredients and helps to make their lunch. This allows them to be involved and to have a choice in food. Price for a seven day week are charged on a daily rate of; $22.00 (Canadian) per day.

House Rules:

Open comunication is expected. No overnight visitors allowed. Avoid being noisy in general. Arrival to the house no later than 12:00 pm, unless already notified. Washrooms to be kept tidy. Evening shower before 11:00 pm and morning showers on weekends and holidays should be after 9:00 am. Kitchen counters, stove-top should be left clean and tidy after use. Phone use should be brief, and early or late calls should be avoided.

Laundry Descriptions: We have a laundry room in the basement, laundry to be done once a week.

Meal Descriptions:

breakfast: cereal/milk, toast, tea/coffe/juice; toast with jam, cheese, fruits, tea/coffe/juice; waffles with syrup, cottage cheese, fruit, tea/coffe/juice; eggs, ham, toast, fruits tea/coffee/juice or milk.
