The map calls this stage "Chasm". Stage 3 is actually called Turbo Tunnels. It is split into two main parts. The first part is on foot and the second part is on bikes through Turbo Tunnel insanity. It's possible to warp to this stage from Stage 1 at the very beginning. The alternative is the Game Genie Code <span style="font-weight: bold;">LAXAALAA</span>. If the code begins you on a pause screen just press start button.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rIiWphfhWto&hl=en&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rIiWphfhWto&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object><br /></div><br />In the very last bike part there is a warp to Stage 5 on the 10th wall if you run head on into it. It's where it goes the fastest. Sometimes people hit it by sheer coincidence and warp not knowing it but the chances of that aren't likely. The best advice is don't blink or mess up at all.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7258057665315973766-621709113519227072?l=www.originalnintendo.net%2Fhome'/></div>Ross James Millerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00174965003137440935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7258057665315973766.post-41334664092739490652008-10-19T14:28:00.001-07:002008-10-19T14:58:02.976-07:00Battletoads Stage 6 Karnath's Lair "Snake Pit" NesAnother difficult stage brought to you by Battletoads Nes. It's not as difficult as Stage 3 "The Turbo Tunnels" but it's still up there. The Game Genie code to start on this stage is <span style="font-weight: bold;">TAXAALAA</span> since heck who can get here. The code will usually take you to a pause screen so hit start to begin. The overall agreement is don't screw up and hit the spikes.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_3vbfsAFAgU&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_3vbfsAFAgU&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">The name on the map states Snake Pit but below under level it's called Karnath's Lair. So technically it could be either name. The warp is located at the very beginning of the second area on the bottom right next to the floor of spikes. Don't hit the spikes when jumping but be quick. It takes you to Stage 8 <span style="font-size:100%;">Intruder Excluder. Finally Stage 6 was easier in future Famicom Battletoads release because of more flexible controls and lives.<br /></span></div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7258057665315973766-4133466409273949065?l=www.originalnintendo.net%2Fhome'/></div>Ross James Millerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00174965003137440935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7258057665315973766.post-79496778038386588822008-10-19T05:17:00.000-07:002008-10-19T05:27:33.483-07:00Maniac Mansion Nes World RecordThis is a speed run of the Nes game Maniac Mansion in 9 minutes and 14 seconds. So it's impossible more or less. Save your power ups because it's the same loop with slight alterations. Restore Rush Jet primarily so you don't get in a pinch. The soundtrack is entitled "Maze of Death" fitting enough for the Endless Attack of Mega Man 9 Wii Ware. For 300 Wii Points or equivalence of 3 US Dollars. Oh I forgot to mention you have to fight the same horrific boss fights in between every 30 stages. So you better remember all the bosses correct weaknesses (yeah that's the catch). All Specials are given from the start minus Beat, E Tanks, and other power ups of that variety. Good Luck on getting on the Top 10 Endless Attack list.<br /><br />Also <span style="font-weight: bold;">do not</span> get the 1-up in the <u><a href="http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/10/heat-mans-stage-mega-man-2.html">Heat Man</a></u> (<u><a href="http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/10/heat-mans-stage-mega-man-2.html">Mega Man 2</a></u>) remake stage. The 1-up will <span style="font-weight: bold;">kill you</span> (knock Mega Man in the lava!). Remember there are no second chances in Endless Attack Mode. Shoot hornets at them if you want.<br /><br />Note: You can not charge up your Mega Buster and you can not slide in original Mega Man fashion. This is the best way available for Mega Man veterans to test their skills on a worldwide scale. Proto Man has no story prior to Mega Man 9 but anyone that remembers Mega Man 3 can fill in the details. He was Dr. Light's first robot who disguised himself as Break Man in his encounters with Mega Man before the Wily stages (MM3). Here are some highlights of the rogue robot master in Mega Man 9 (Wii Ware).<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5F7Os3YrmDg&hl=en&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5F7Os3YrmDg&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object></div><br /><br />Proto Man has less vitality than Mega Man in this remake and a slightly different arsenal of moves (including Rush). Start up Tetris either on the classic grey Game Boy or computer emulator/rom (not condoned by us). Select Type-B Tetris mode. Now set it for Level 9 with a handicap height of 5. This is the hardest mode the Tetris Game Boy game has to offer. It is advised to start on a lower height to practice the speed. Once you think you are fast enough you can set it to the max. Play fast and turn correctly is all I can say. One mistake can end a great run. B-Type Mode is complete when you make 25 lines.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/tetris-gameboy1.jpg" alt="tetris-gameboy1" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Title screen 1-player mode.</span></span><br /><br /><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/tetris-gameboy2.jpg" alt="tetris-gameboy2" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Select Level on the left and </span></span><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Height on the right. It is only difficult because of the disappearing blocks over lava then an endless pit. Never and I must repeat Never touch the lava unless you are momentarily invincible from getting hit. A player can complete Heat Man's stage after getting <u><a href="http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/10/bubble-mans-stage-mega-man-2.html">Bubble Lead</a></u> from <u><a href="http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/10/bubble-mans-stage-mega-man-2.html">Bubble Man</a></u>. It's recommended to do after you get Rush Jet if you aren't good with the disappearing blocks like in Mega Man 1. Here's Heat Man's stage.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/heat-man1.jpg" alt="heat-man1" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Don't let him knock you into the lava.</span></span><br /><br /><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/heat-man2.jpg" alt="heat-man2" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Kind of tricky jumps right from the start.</span></span><br /><br /><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/heat-man3.jpg" alt="heat-man3" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">These jumps shouldn't be that bad as long as your patient.</span></span><br /><br /><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/heat-man4.jpg" alt="heat-man4" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Similar to Ice Man's stage from the original.</span></span><br /><br /><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/heat-man5.jpg" alt="heat-man5" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Time the jumps right to proceed.</span></span><br /><br /><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/heat-man6.jpg" alt="heat-man6" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Don't bother with the <u><a href="http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/10/crash-mans-stage-mega-man-2.html">crash walls</a></u>.</span></span><br /><br /><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/heat-man7.jpg" alt="heat-man7" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">The 1-up is more or less a trap to be stranded.</span></span><br /><br /><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/heat-man8.jpg" alt="heat-man8" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">A giant robot walker blocks the path.</span></span><br /><br /><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/heat-man9.jpg" alt="heat-man9" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">He has an easy pattern. It is a difficult stage for the first few times but gets easier once you know better. Just be quick on the d-pad and jump button. There are 1-ups and E Tanks located in various locations of the stage.<br /><br />Sometimes the power ups aren't worth losing a life for. Especially for the health and special icons. Drop and move as fast as you can. This really is not the stage to many any mistakes on. It's comparable to <u><a href="http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/10/heat-mans-stage-mega-man-2.html">Heat Man's stage</a></u> in difficulty. The stage is long between all the ladders, enemies and moving platforms. Later in the Wily stages those platforms will have solid objects plus the enemies. It becomes very tricky.<br /><br />This might be the longest stage in the game just because of all the climbing. When climbing ladders use <u><a href="http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/10/metal-mans-stage-mega-man-2.html">Metal Blades</a></u> to hit enemies in an up-right and up-left direction. It becomes very useful so you don't get knock off. A positive note is there are no endless pits to lose a life at.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/crash-man1.jpg" alt="crash-man1" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Ladders on the first two screens right off the bat.</span></span><br /><br /><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/crash-man2.jpg" alt="crash-man2" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">A moving platform puzzle. The only reason for that is because his main Achilles’ heel is the <u><a href="http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/10/wood-mans-stage-mega-man-2.html">Leaf Shield</a></u>. His stage can be a pain if you don't time the jumps correctly and waste lives falling because of careless mistakes. The best advice for this stage is to shoot the down enemies as soon as you see them or else they will knock you off the stage.<br /><br /></div><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.originalnintendo.net/home/air-man1.jpg" alt="air-man1" /><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Lose a man easy by getting knocked </span></span><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">off the stage by a rising drill. Challenging between the bats, kangaroos, fire spitting dogs, monkeys and running birds especially so on the difficult setting. <u><a href="http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/10/metal-mans-stage-mega-man-2.html">Metal Blade</a></u> can be helpful on this stage with it's versatile range. After you beat <u><a href="http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/10/super-macho-man-punch-out-world-circuit.html">Super Macho Man</a></u> you automatically proceed to this Dream Bout. Other than that they are graphically different in sprites, pictures, and description text. If you made it this far without the password you show promise for this match. The final test of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.<br /><br />At the end of his contract Nintendo used <u><a href="http://originalnintendo.net/home/2008/10/mr-dream-punch-out-dream-title-bout.html">Mr. Dream</a></u> as his replacement. All around the time Mike Tyson lost the title to James Douglas. Nintendo could use no reference to him in any Street Fighter game as Balrog. In Japan switched from Mike Bison to M. Bison. You must go toe to toe with World Title holder Super Macho Man. His appearance was so acclaimed in Punch-Out that he made a second in Super Punch-Out (still as World Title holder). In both games his normal punches and specials are devastating. There is no way to comprehend his strength/speed except by boxing him.
