Hangin Tough'

Sweden's The Tough Alliance does what most smart young indie electronic producers do these days. They made an EP and with the support they have its no wonder. TEEN

Amy Aubrac-Prince was born in a small town in the south of France and was introduced to house music at a young age by an older sister. After her family's move to New York City and Amy's being kicked out of the house by her father at the age of 17, she began producing electronic music. In 2006, having relocated to Toronto, Amy met Natalie (who was DJ’ing mostly House music at the time). The two started a punk band together, Sugar Kane, but within the year, were back to their roots, working on dance music again.

Since then, TEEN has been making original tracks, doing remixes, and are currently honing their live set, in preparation for a live tour, complete with vocalist and drummer. TEEN is now run exclusively by Amy, as Natalie is currently pursuing other projects.

TEEN’s main musical influences are Akufen, The Ramones, Todd Edwards, Daft Punk and the Rolling Stones. TEEN is a convergence of the sharp edges of punk with the glamorous funk and bounce of disco--for a new style of house music. Amy hopes to release a TEEN EP in the spring of 2010. ..

Bottin Space

1977 brought us the classic track 'Carry On, Turn Me On' by Space and now with the support of the Tirk record label and remixers AN2, Artchiteq, The Time & Space Machine, and my favorite Bottin, we see a strong EP of what is basically all new material. Architeq's version is a tight 100 bpm groover and Time & Space Machine re disco's the original. AN2's remix is a 11:25 seconds of pure funk with a disco vocal attached. So much soul and heavy bass here that you could play the whole thing on a smoke break and still have a dance floor upon your return. I shared the Bottin remix today because he dominates every EP he cameos. Italy's finest.

For years and under the watchful eyes of millions did the "Fantastic Nobodies" - exceptionally gifted art counterfeiters and weirdos from Brooklyn - manage to sell themselves as renowned works of art, thus creating inexplicable damage... Golden Strings by ROCKETS

We we're honored when D.I.S.C.O. TEXAS sent us this one today. They have what we need here at the house of voules in the land of randomness. With a roster with the likes of Moulinex, Xinobi, Flip and Rockets you can be certain that they will whisk you away to disco heaven long into the morning hours if you ever have any time to travel to Lisbon which is the labels original home. I thought Thursdays were pretty good in Winnipeg with the Lo Pub and all but sufficed to say I wish I lived in Lisboa where I could attend the TITAN THURSDAYS @ Lux Frágil. They start at 11:00 PM and go till 6:00 AM.

Now that's a show folks.

By far, the best nightclub in Lisbon. Some even go as far as saying as the best in Europe. Co-owned by John Malkovich, Lux has served as host for some of the best gigs in Lisbon. I could start naming all the great artists who have been here, but the list would be endless. The club is divided in two floors. The top floor, filled with very artistic decor, serves (depending on the night) lounge, hip hop or electro sounds throughout the night. The bottom floor has more of an aggressive feel to it, tribal house, techno, electro or drum and bass are regulars here. Every now and again, Lux also serves as venue for smaller gigs for jazz, folk, acoustic or other musical genres. Watch out for the giant giraffe! :) .

Butyreux Bien

French named Italian Producer Butyreux sliced and diced the Phonat insta classic 'Set Me Free' with a long build and a strong disco house influence.

It is pronounced “butirò” and it means buttery in French. The reason he has chosen this name is known only to him, but we can say for sure that France, musically speaking, is much more closer to him than Italy. Michele, 23 year old as we speak, lived his adolescence influenced by the house music from the beginning of the new century. Very early he entered the music world, both as a dj and a producer and acclaimed his place in the new electronic scene that was being formed in Italy. His style could be defined as a mixture of electro and house highly contaminated with samples and vocals derived mostly from dance music made in the last thirty years but his sources deepen daily. In the past two years he produced and remixed at least twenty tracks, became a resident of Trash-Dance parties and performed along artists such as The Bloody Beetroots, Shinichi Osawa, Boys Noize, MSTRKRFT, Simian Mobile Disco, Danger, Guns'n'Bombs, Subsonica etc. .

Myd/Noria

After blowing my hat off with 'Train To Bamako' from the Teki/Orgasmic mix it's France's Myd who is back with more afro beat heat via the Club Cheval outfit. Punchy and skipping along at a meth pace with interlocking percussion and synth work. Lots to think about in this simply constructed house number. If you like Myd also check out the the DJ's who playlisted him like Solo and his 'Minimood' EP as well as Douster's 'Triassic' EP on ZZK. (Illustration-Julian Callos).

Les Judas New Gillettes

New Judas is a label from Finland that you have all become familiar with heat from Mixhell, Pets On Prozac, and now with Les Gillettes who hail from southern Britain. A relatively new one here released a fortnight ago and as you all know I have never been a chart topper or hype machine sweetheart. New tracks still have to be dope and this is. Today we got 'Pompeii' the title track and its in the vein of some of my favorite labels right now which I will not list cuz you all know who they are by what I post and emphasize. 'R U From London' is a club dreamer track mixed in a dub style and broken up by random shotguns cocking and spacey reverb. This song is much more accessible than the title track which Obi Blanche kills with his D.I.M./ritchie hawtin overhaul. Mikix the Cat is rounding out the group and its a good thing he is cuz hes also pissed off and ready to show just how much with this one. Buy it at BEATPORT and JUNO

Pierce (Dominic Fabrig) is a self-proclaimed bedroom producer whose tracks have been repped by Canada's finest. It is the excitement of hearing his tracks played at his favorite spots that keeps Fabrig working hard. “I want to continue to be a part of the conversation when it comes to electronic music and the whole scene associated with it. Switching gears to Turbo recording artist Jori Hulkkonen with and his full length album entitled 'Man On Earth'. 'Boying In The Smokeroom' is dark experiment of heavy synths and smooth textured loops. Powerful without being overpowering..

More Turbo here that could act as polar opposite to the sounds of Jori. The Proxy's track 'Who Are You' is simply a crash and boom affair that I would fear to play live whereas the cut '8000' is an interesting play on East Indian themes with Sitars and that Russian skull crushing production.

Something new here leaning more towards the sunny and smooth side of the house game is Pasquale Maassen and Remute. Deep warbling underwater disco line with a intelligent bump.

More heartfelt head banging house here with Dutchman Joris Voorn and a track that surfaced a few months ago and has been burning up the Beatport charts. 'We're All Clean' has a great disco guitar laying over the preachings of a guy that sounds like the intro track 'Wolves' on the Dead Prez debut album. All an all eerie and funky at the same time.
