Inverness Police say former Cook County Republican Chairman Gary Skoien admitted having two prostitutes in his children’s playroom when his wife walked in on him early Sunday morning.

The allegation is in a domestic battery report from Skoien, 55, against his 36-year-old, 5-foot-4-inch, 110-pound wife. He said she beat him with her fists and an electric guitar.

The first report I saw said she beat him with a toy guitar.... I'm thinking video game gone wrong? Hmmmmm

The planned 670-mile fence along the US border with Mexico has proven remarkably ineffective at deterring or stopping illegal crossers to the United States, advocates and critics of the fence admit.

Moreover, the fence's construction remains in limbo in numerous areas, where legal, political and engineering obstacles have brought its implementation to a halt.

While we were worrying about 16-foot ladders, and using ground penetrating radar to look for tunnels, the smugglers were building ramps. That' s just not fair.
In a related story, smugglers were also able to discover the extent of the wall and walk around the end of the fence.

Groundhog Pie
* Servings: 6-8
* 1 groundhog skinned and cleaned
* 1/4 cup onion
* 1/4 cup green pepper
* 1/2 tablespoon minced parsley
* 1 tablespoon salt
* 1/8 teaspoon pepper
* 4 1/2 tablespoon flour
* 3 cups broth
*
* Biscuits:
* 1 cup flour
* 2 tablespoon baking powder
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 2 tablespoon fat
* 1/4 cup milk

DIRECTIONS

1. Cut groundhog into 2 or 3 pieces.
2. Parboil for 1 hour.
3. Remove meat from bones in large pieces. Add onion, green pepper, parsley, salt, pepper, and flour to the broth and srit until it thickens.
4. If the broth does not measure 3 cups, add water.
5. Add the meat to the broth mixture and stir thoroughly.
6. Pour into baking dish.
7. For biscuits:
8. sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cut in the fat and add the liquid.
9. Stir until the dry ingredients are moist.
10. Roll only enough to make it fit the dish.
11. Place dough on top of meat, put in a hot oven (400 degrees F.) and bake 30 to 40 minutes or until dough is browned.

McGoohan died Tuesday in Los Angeles after a short illness, his son-in-law, film producer Cleve Landsberg, said Wednesday.

McGoohan won two Emmys for his work on the Peter Falk detective drama "Columbo," and more recently appeared as King Edward Longshanks in the 1995 Mel Gibson film "Braveheart."

But he was best known as the title character Number Six in "The Prisoner," a surreal 1960s British series in which a former spy is held captive in a small village and constantly tries to escape.

Chrysler announced today that it would shut all 30 of its North American plants for a month, starting this Friday. ABC News reports that while 46,000 union workers will be shut off from their regular paychecks, the “white collar” management will continue to receive their salaries:

These [UAW} workers will not be receiving their regular income. There will be an unknown number of white collar workers who will not be working as well, but the expectation is that they will continue to receive their regular salaries during this time.

Chrysler said that union workers will receive “state unemployment benefits as well as supplementary payments from Chrysler” based off “a union negotiated formula.”
