Thanks for the post.  Weightlifting is much more in agreement with my goals than bodybuilding or powerlifting.  I am after maximum strength, flexibility, strong bones and joints, avoid injury, build balance, concentration, strong heart, clear mind etc.  That means much more to me than building beach muscles (biceps and pecs).  It's very hard to find anyone in my area who knows the sport but I haven't given up.  In the meantime I have a short routine Clean and presses 125 lbs. 5 reps, snatch 45-65 lbs. 5-10 reps (I don't know the technique so I just do my best with light weight just to get the form.)  Front squats, deadlifts, overhead squats, kettle bells, one arm dumbell presses...  I also want to do chins for reps. I can eek out 1 good form chin, my goal is to do five.  (then 10...)  I also went from being unable to do a single parallel bar dip to doing 8 of them in good form.  I'm on my way slowly.  It's a lot of fun I just wish I discovered this sooner.  Lastly there's something just magical about the snatch, clean and jerk.
