An update! As I mentioned in my previous "oh I promise I'll update the next day" post, work has been hectic as there have been shake ups that have moved me higher on the food chain, but keep me at the same pay! Awesome!<br /><br />Anyways, enough of my personal life(?) and on to the movie news. News that will rock your world in ways you've never imagined possible. Ok, well, that may be a bit of a stretch but hey! Did you like the two Robocop movies? (I'm not counting the third one, that one was terrible) Does the very mention of Robocop leave you jonesing for a nuke?<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SH9YwXFpBGI/AAAAAAAAADU/2dDECSrBJj0/s1600-h/arronofskyrobo.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SH9YwXFpBGI/AAAAAAAAADU/2dDECSrBJj0/s320/arronofskyrobo.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5223991680627704930" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Well then you'll love this! Requiem for a Dream director/Double-Dildo enthusiast(You'll have to see the movie to get that..) Darron <strong style="font-weight: normal;">Aronofsky is apparently close to finalising a deal to direct a new Robocop movie! What would an Aronofsky Robocop be like? I have no fucking clue, but as long as it's nothing like The Fountain in any way, shape, or form, it should be completely badass!<br /><br />There's not a whole lot more to go on, other than a breif synopses that Bloody Disgusting got there hands on:</strong><blockquote><strong style="font-weight: normal;"></strong><br /><span class="text"><span class="text">Present day Los Angeles, 20 years <i>after</i> the termination of the RoboCop program, the city decides to reinstate the program.</span></span></blockquote><span class="text"><span class="text"></span></span><br /><br />The movie is expected to be released in 2010.<br /><br />Sources:<br /><a style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255);" href="http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/07/16/robocop-remake-is-actually-a-sequel-darren-aronofsky-still-tipped-to-direct/">Slashfilm</a><br /><a style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255);" href="http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/12913">Bloody-Disgusting</a><br /><strong style="font-weight: normal;"></strong><script src="http://digg.com/tools/diggthis.js" type="text/javascript"></script>Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04004838630528214794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-705165930132379203.post-27423600759157733442008-07-09T12:05:00.000-07:002008-07-09T12:17:07.092-07:00Check out the red band trailer for Hell Ride!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHUOcJ5v_zI/AAAAAAAAADE/nPq6GajVKCQ/s1600-h/actionMovie.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHUOcJ5v_zI/AAAAAAAAADE/nPq6GajVKCQ/s320/actionMovie.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221095219863224114" border="0" /></a>ComingSoon has the red band trailer for Hell Ride! The film follows a badass motorcycle gang called the Victors, who are trying to take care of some unfinished business with a rival gang called the "Six Six Sixers". Violence, alcohol and sex ensue. Michael Madsen, Eric Balfour, Larry Bishop, and Vinnie Jones star with appearances from Dennis Hopper and David Carradine.<br /><br />You can catch Hell Ride in theaters on August 8th.<br /><br />Links:<br /><a href="http://www.comingsoon.net/hellrideredband.php">ComingSoon.net - Hell Ride Red Band Trailer(NSFW!)</a><br /><div><script type="text/javascript">addthis_url='<data:post.url/>'; addthis_title='<data:post.title/>'; addthis_pub='mikewshaw';</script><script src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/addthis_widget.php?v=12" type="text/javascript"></script></div><br /><!-- AddThis Button for Post END -->Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04004838630528214794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-705165930132379203.post-41620113218905131622008-07-09T08:44:00.000-07:002008-07-09T09:13:35.825-07:00GEEK CRUSH: Joss Whedon developing "Cabin in the Woods"<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHTi-EEXjHI/AAAAAAAAACk/oD2fMc8DL_E/s1600-h/miscFilmStuff.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHTi-EEXjHI/AAAAAAAAACk/oD2fMc8DL_E/s320/miscFilmStuff.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221047423901076594" border="0" /></a><br />The Hollywood Reporter is...uh, reporting...that geek king <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Joss</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Whedon</span> and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Cloverfield</span> scribe Drew Goddard have turned in a spec script to MGM that has "suddenly became Project No.1". Period. Borat was a huge sucess and he's still managing to fool people...even celebrities. In March, posing as his character Bruno, the gay, Austrian fashion journalist, Cohen managed to score an interview with Ben Affleck, which was later described to Sarah Silverman as "the weirdest sit-down he has ever had with a reporter." Though whether or not Affleck was really in the dark is unclear.<br /><br />Cohen's also going back to the never ending source of comedy that helped make Borat work: closed-minded rednecks. The Smoking Gun reports that the Bruno team staged two cage-wrestling matches in Arkansas; one called 'Blue Collar Brawlin' and the other 'Red, White, and Blood'. For five bucks a pop wrestling fans were treated to a night of violence, $1 draft beers, and two men tearing each others clothes off and kissing in the ring...Wait, what?<br /><br />Yup, the twist here is that during the final match the two wrestlers apparently ripped off each others clothes, and made out in their underwear. In Arkansas. During a wrestling match. After serving $1 beers. Needless to say the fans were unhappy and threw chairs and beer at the ring. Genius plan, and kudos to the Bruno team for pulling it off without getting anyone killed.<br /><br />Bruno is set to be released on May 15th, 2009. Below I've embedded a clip of Bruno from 'da Ali G. Show' to give you a taste of what to expect in the film.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><object height="344" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SnB5vqObkLw&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SnB5vqObkLw&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></embed></object><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Source:<a href="http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2008/0708081bruno1.html"><br />The Smoking Gun(With bonus pics of the Blue Collar Brawlin poster and craigslist post to advertise the event)</a><br /><a href="http://www.cinematical.com/2008/03/29/sacha-baron-cohens-bruno-nails-ben-affleck/">Cinematical article on the Ben Affleck interview</a><br /></div><!-- AddThis Button for Post END --></div>Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04004838630528214794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-705165930132379203.post-83097853122844680922008-07-08T11:44:00.000-07:002008-07-08T12:12:53.503-07:00Adding awesome to awesome: Watchmen trailer to show before The Dark Knight<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHO7dQqwliI/AAAAAAAAAB0/GmWiIdeyOiQ/s1600-h/comicMovie.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHO7dQqwliI/AAAAAAAAAB0/GmWiIdeyOiQ/s320/comicMovie.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220722504417449506" border="0" /></a><br />As if it wasn't going to be awesome enough, the good fellows over at ComingSoon have revealed the list of trailers that are set to show before The Dark Knight, and they have me wetting myself. If you haven't heard of him, this guy is the frat-boy-asshole version of David Sedaris. Essentially, he wrote a bunch of essays detailing his douchebaggery and posted them on his website, which then gained popularity among the college douchebag crowd, and in turn landed him a book deal. Surprising no one, the book managed to become a best seller, which, logically, landed him a movie deal. To give you an idea of what this guy is like, one of his more popular stories involves anal sex, vomit, and sushi. That's right, drop that TPS coversheet, set your phone to DoNotDisturb, and head over to Hulu.com, because right now you can stream the first Ghostbusters movie right in your browser.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHNus3HEzxI/AAAAAAAAABM/d61DF89GqKg/s1600-h/hulugbusters.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHNus3HEzxI/AAAAAAAAABM/d61DF89GqKg/s320/hulugbusters.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220638110039461650" border="0" /></a><br /><br />If you're unfamilliar with Hulu it was started by NBC Universal and News Corp. in an effort to cash in on those watching pirated TV on streaming video websites. They figured that if they just uploaded the content themselves, and threw in a few short commercial breaks, and an easy to use interface, people would choose the legit way over the slightly less legit(read: illegal) way. And whaddya know, they were right, as Hulu is on track to make 90 million in its first year.<br /><br />After you're done with Ghostbusters, I recommend checking out some of the other content on the site. Not only do they have a huge selection of movies(like The Big Lebowski!!), they also have a bevy of TV shows, quite a few with entire seasons posted. A couple I recommend checking out are Burn Notice, if you're in the mood for some snarky spy action and Bruce Campbell, and It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia if you're in the mood for shows based around finding a baby in a dumpster, and Danny DeVito.<br /><!-- AddThis Button for Post BEGIN --><br />Links:<br /><a href="http://www.hulu.com/watch/25534/ghostbusters">Ghostbusters on Hulu</a><br /><div><script type="text/javascript">addthis_url='<data:post.url/>'; addthis_title='<data:post.title/>'; addthis_pub='mikewshaw';</script><script src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/addthis_widget.php?v=12" type="text/javascript"></script></div><br /><!-- AddThis Button for Post END -->Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04004838630528214794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-705165930132379203.post-89879554456849327912008-07-07T13:03:00.000-07:002008-07-07T13:21:32.058-07:00Quickie: Pineapple Express Web Game<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHJ5n2zXa_I/AAAAAAAAAA0/-O7PjJORx9Q/s1600-h/comedyMovie.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHJ5n2zXa_I/AAAAAAAAAA0/-O7PjJORx9Q/s320/comedyMovie.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220368643708644338" border="0" /></a>So, it's like Donkey Kong, only you're playing as either James Franco's greasy-haired-drug-dealing character Saul, or Seth Rogens typical-slacker-pot-smoking character Dale. You have to climb ladders, eat munchies, avoid pineapples, and make it to the top, <strike>where Lumbergh will probably ask you to come in on Saturday</strike> where Gary Cole yells at you. I'm pretty excited about the film, and can't wait until it to see it -- mostly because James Franco looks so crazy. The dudes normally a dead ringer for James Dean. And no, I don't have a man crush on him. Alright, maybe I do.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHJ6kFmf5VI/AAAAAAAAAA8/Vw_BY8rA1Yg/s1600-h/paxpressgame.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHJ6kFmf5VI/AAAAAAAAAA8/Vw_BY8rA1Yg/s320/paxpressgame.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220369678473356626" border="0" /></a> Anyways, it's a decent way to kill 5 minutes at work. A rumor has been floating around the interwebs about a possible Eli Roth/The RZA martial arts collaboration, and movie blog Chud emailed Roth to get the straight dope. Roth confirmed the development of the movie, titled The Man with the Iron Fist, which The RZA both wrote and will direct, with Roth coming on as a producer.<br /><br />It's apparent Roth thinks The RZA is going to have some talent behind the camera, calling the movie "<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">everything martial arts fans could want"</span>. You can get the complete quote, and Chuds two cents on the movie <a href="http://chud.com/articles/articles/15467/1/ELI-ROTH-GIVES-CHUD-THE-SCOOP-ON-RZA039S-MARTIAL-ARTS-MOVIE/Page1.html">here</a>.<br /><br />Along with being a prominent member of the martial arts themed hip-hop group the Wu-Tang Clan, the RZA collaborated with QT on the soundtracks for Kill Bill volumes 1 and 2. It's likely that this participation further influenced his decision to jump into the movie business.<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHJ1rnKlgrI/AAAAAAAAAAk/GirQ-gQJDZg/s1600-h/RZA2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_F6HG-n7dS5o/SHJ1rnKlgrI/AAAAAAAAAAk/GirQ-gQJDZg/s320/RZA2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220364310184034994" border="0" /></a><br />[via <a href="http://chud.com/articles/articles/15467/1/ELI-ROTH-GIVES-CHUD-THE-SCOOP-ON-RZA039S-MARTIAL-ARTS-MOVIE/Page1.html">chud</a> via <a href="http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/07/06/more-on-rzas-the-man-with-the-iron-fist/">slashfilm</a>]<br /><!-- AddThis Button for Post BEGIN --><br /><div><script type="text/javascript">addthis_url='<data:post.url/>'; addthis_title='<data:post.title/>'; addthis_pub='mikewshaw';</script><script src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/addthis_widget.php?v=12" type="text/javascript"></script></div><br /><!-- AddThis Button for Post END -->Chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04004838630528214794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-705165930132379203.post-18460304930464384122008-07-05T10:15:00.000-07:002008-07-05T10:17:14.088-07:00Bad Lieutenant geting updated<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_hf-4eXO5wr4/SG-sllP_O9I/AAAAAAAAAzo/d6xBtZN2O9w/s1600-h/actionMovie.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_hf-4eXO5wr4/SG-sllP_O9I/AAAAAAAAAzo/d6xBtZN2O9w/s400/actionMovie.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219580254800002002" border="0" /></a><br />Director Werner Herzog (<em>Grizzly Man</em>) has signed on to helm a remake of the 1992 Harvey Keitel cult classic <em>Bad</em> <em>Lieutenant</em>. <p>Nicolas Cage will play the corrupt policeman made famous by Keitel in Abel Ferrara's original, while Val Kilmer will portray Cage's partner and rapper Xzibit will play a villain. I'm personally glad Eli Roth won't be on this franchise any longer, creativity he's a genius, but I think he relies on the gore side of horror movies way too much rather than suspense. So if a another director stepped in the Hostel 3 shoes maybe it'll be better than the second one (god, let's hope so).<br /><br /><!-- AddThis Button for Post END -->mikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05407714420254950064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-705165930132379203.post-32080752164527290332008-06-25T18:22:00.000-07:002008-06-25T18:29:00.048-07:00Fandango buys Movies.com<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_hf-4eXO5wr4/SGLwy88TQxI/AAAAAAAAAzA/ehc4zfxCk3U/s1600-h/dumbMovieStuff.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_hf-4eXO5wr4/SGLwy88TQxI/AAAAAAAAAzA/ehc4zfxCk3U/s400/dumbMovieStuff.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5215996076591629074" border="0" /></a><br /> Fandango bought Movies.com - but if you go there on the main page it still looks and feels like Movies.com but as soon as you click a link it goes to a Fandagano page, its hard to read, blah go back to the old look. - What was wrong with it?<br /><div><script type="text/javascript">addthis_url='<data:post.url/>'; addthis_title='<data:post.title/>'; addthis_pub='mikewshaw';</script><script src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/addthis_widget.php?v=12" type="text/javascript"></script></div><br /><!-- AddThis Button for Post END -->mikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05407714420254950064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-705165930132379203.post-295675287397564692008-06-22T19:30:00.000-07:002008-06-22T19:32:44.743-07:00YouTube to help film makers<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_hf-4eXO5wr4/SF8LRxLymAI/AAAAAAAAAy4/AsVUNufidP8/s1600-h/stolenNews.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_hf-4eXO5wr4/SF8LRxLymAI/AAAAAAAAAy4/AsVUNufidP8/s400/stolenNews.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214899293406795778" border="0" /></a>Struggling filmmakers already use YouTube to kick-start viral marketing campaigns. The new feature, which debuts Wednesday, gives them an easy-to-find home — and makes them partners in drawing new ad revenue.”Hopefully as they see thousands of people watching their films, it’s going to be a very eye-opening experience,” said Sara Pollack, YouTube’s film and animation manager. - <a href="http://www.yahoo.com/">Yahoo!</a><br /><br /><!-- AddThis Button for Post BEGIN --><br /><div><script type="text/javascript">addthis_url='<data:post.url/>'; addthis_title='<data:post.title/>'; addthis_pub='mikewshaw';</script><script src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/addthis_widget.php?v=12" type="text/javascript"></script></div><br /><!-- AddThis Button for Post END -->mikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05407714420254950064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-705165930132379203.post-75286779163472513932008-06-22T19:28:00.000-07:002008-06-22T19:30:31.070-07:00Zack and Miri Make a Prono rating most likely to be NC-17<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_hf-4eXO5wr4/SF8KxJAzv6I/AAAAAAAAAyw/o2I2O7thfNU/s1600-h/movieGossip.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_hf-4eXO5wr4/SF8KxJAzv6I/AAAAAAAAAyw/o2I2O7thfNU/s400/movieGossip.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214898732867501986" border="0" /></a><br />MPAA wants to give Zack and Miri Make a Prono an NC-17, they want it to be rated R.<br /><!-- AddThis Button for Post BEGIN --><br /><div><script type="text/javascript">addthis_url='<data:post.url/>'; addthis_title='<data:post.title/>'; addthis_pub='mikewshaw';</script><script src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/addthis_widget.php?v=12" type="text/javascript"></script></div><br /><!-- AddThis Button for Post END -->mikehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05407714420254950064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-705165930132379203.post-2514301177052234602008-06-22T19:27:00.000-07:002008-06-22T19:28:27.018-07:00J.J.
