But the Police chief disputes the FBI findings and the city publishes different numbers. The sad news is that both negate the efforts of the Louisiana tourism department.

The pork industry is fearful of the impact of A H1N1 influenza or ( swine flu ) Misinformation spreads as fast as the virus. Egypt has ordered a mass slaughter of pigs. Some Canadian pigs have been infected. But, the CDC says you can't get swine flu from eating cooked pork.

Louisiana has been having great weather for the sugarcane harvest of 2008. Early in the season estimates were pessimistic and predicted decreased yields because of the two hurricanes. The storms caused stalks to fall over (lodged) and some have broken, which result in lower tonnage produced. However yields have not been as bad as first feared.
