Citizens of Iran "To Win Their Own Freedom?"

In a 2006 State of The Union address, President George W. Bush gave a direct message to the young people of Iran. "And tonight, let me speak directly to the citizens of Iran: America respects you, and we respect your country," he said. "We respect your right to choose your own future and win your own freedom. And our nation hopes one day to be the closest of friends with a free and democratic Iran."

An attempt to do exactly that appears to be happening at this very moment in the streets of Tehran and beyond in the wake of what is seen as a sham of a "democratic" reelection of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. While the Iranian dictatorship-called a government-is attempting to completely censor all legitimate news reports on the situation, brave freedom fighting citizens are finding ways to bypass their government's firewalls through social networking sites such as twitter and facebook to reflect the carnage of brutality in which they are battling.

President Barack Hussein Obama has taken a different approach in U.S. relations with Iran in lieu of Bush who refused to negotiate with Iran's government and appeared to not only encourage but to implore the citizens of Iran to fight for their freedom.

Iran's government used Obama's own words last week to legitimize their nuclear ambitions that would strengthen their power over the region. Mohammad Kowsari, of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission sited Obama's willingness "for negotiations with Iran without preconditions" and his acknowledgment of "Iran's nuclear right" in a recent Cairo speech. Obama has also had little to say to the citizens fighting for democracy in the streets of Iran in spite of political pressure from both Democrats and Republicans.

It was only after the House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a resolution on Friday -in "support for all Iranian citizens who embrace the values of freedom, human rights, civil liberties, and rule of law."-that Obama came forth with a tepid response that did nothing to encourage their continued fight for democracy in Iran. His response instead focused on the citizens' "universal rights to assembly and free speech" and called on the Iranian government to stop any violent reactions "against its own people" for protesting.

Obama Orders 4th of July Celebration With Iranian Government

Next month will officially mark the United States of America's 233rd birthday. Each year, the fourth of July is a time when many of us American-loving citizens gather with family, friends and colleagues to celebrate our country's accomplishments, freedoms and the countless number of people who died to give it to us.

Barack Obama-on the other hand-has something different in mind. He's decreed that American officials should hang out and have a hot dog with people who would prefer to see us dead-such as the Iranian government.

In a new overture to Iran, the Obama administration has authorized US embassies around the world to invite Iranian officials to Independence Day parties they host on or around July 4th.

A State Department cable sent to all US embassies and consulates late last week said that US diplomats could ask their Iranian counterparts to attend the festivities, which generally feature speeches about American values, fireworks, and, of course, hot dogs and hamburgers.

Disenchanted Media Columnist Calls For Obama's Resignation

Wow. Even the die-hard lefties are starting to notice the empty suit behind the teleprompter. One such disenchanted, media columnist-Ted Rall-is going so far as to demand his resignation.

He writes:

Obama is useless. Worse than that, he’s dangerous. Which is why, if he has any patriotism left after the thousands of meetings he has sat through with corporate contributors, blood-sucking lobbyists and corrupt politicians, he ought to step down now — before he drags us further into the abyss.

I couldn't agree more with Mr. Rall-at least with this part of his rantings. While Rall's beef with Obama is based on disappointments of disillusional, fairy tale, campaign promises that Obama-surprise, surprise-has left unfulfilled, it's nice to see that some on the left can finally add two and two together.

But wait a minute. Mr. Rall, did you just question Obama's PATRIOTISM??? How dare you! Some things are just off limits.

Oh shucks. I forgot. That rule just applies to those of us who managed to learn the sum of two plus two PRIOR to the election and were equally concerned about the destruction of our country. My apologies. Carry on, sir.

Tea Party Spin:The Story Inside The Story

Yesterday, thousands across America celebrated "tax day" by attending tea party protests. The protests were held in opposition to activities-such as the shredding of the Constitution, socialism, out of control spending, fiscal child abuse and etc-being perpetrated by Obama-Lama-Ding-Dong and friends.

I have never seen anything like these massive protests in my life. Forever the romantic, I truly believed myself to be witnessing the media event of the century. WRONG!!! The media-with the exception of Fox News which broadcasted live from various protests-appeared to have only one objective in mind: damage control. Hence they provided minimal coverage. Let's take a look.

Reporters at the LA Times want you to think that the gatherings were nothing more than hand full of Republicans delivering the same old "they are going to raise your taxes" message.

"Reporting from Washington and Santa Ana -- Republicans sought to ignite a popular revolt against President Obama on Wednesday by staging "tea party" protests across the nation to demand lower taxes and less government spending -- but the tactic carried risk for the party.

"Nothing is as pressing a concern as the economy," said Republican pollster Whit Ayres, adding that even among Republicans the political salience of taxes is not what it once was."

Uh...Those thousands of angry people hanging out in front of the Alamo in San Antonio, calling for a third party were just Republican spinsters? Riiiigght.

Across the pond at BBC, it is unimaginable that Obama can be anything but "worshiped" in America and they have obviously concluded that the "half dozen or so" people who have an issue with his socialistic agenda must be nuts and sexual deviants as well.

"....And in truth, this is not the kind of political movement that really worries governments (least of all recently elected and still-popular governments like Barack Obama's).

...They seemed undeterred by the fact that the phrase "tea-bagging" (which has a sexual connotation in some circles) is a bit of a gift to their critics on the left, who are inclined to snigger at them."

Was it not the Brits' bums that America kicked after the original tea party?

I'm sure Arianna Huffington had to take a Valium before bedtime on Wednesday. But never fear my dearies, her flying monkeys were working hard into the night.

"Before a crowd that organizers claimed was 15,000 to 20,000, but these experienced ex-advance man's eyes saw as about 3,000, a parade of right-wing personalities used tax day to decry taxation, government, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and President Barack Obama with a rally outside California's state Capitol in Sacramento...

Barack Obama, sworn in as president of the United States on January 20th, is Public Enemy Number One of the small but virulent American Tea Party movement...."

The NYT: Tea party? What tea party? Blah..Blah...Blah...Guess what? Obama is the greatest and guess what he did today??!!!

"With his conservative critics staging “taxpayer tea parties” to protest his fiscal policies, President Obama marked the April 15th tax-filing deadline on Wednesday by delivering a sales pitch for what he called “the most progressive tax cut in American history.....’’

OK. I'm getting bored now. For more examples, just "Google" news listings for "tea party." You will see pretty much more of the same. It's quite telling and almost funny how the various news agencies seem most interested in covering up the realities of the event. Is it because the story did not involve six women wearing feathered pink boas or is someone afraid that not all is well in Obamaland? For the Obama PR teams, the latter just won't do.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. It is currently 2009 and we ask that you please put on your seat belts and place your seat in upright position as we taxi to our first stop: U.S. Socialism-population approximately 306,165,376. Americans are constantly hearing and reading reports about how their country is "heading" towards socialism. In fact, "socialism" is the buzz word of the day in America. It has become a topic of discussion that even traditional media can no longer avoid.

"Re-election-minded" liberals in the media-such as Froma Harrop published via syndication at The Detroit News- prefer to deflect attention on the subject and argue that the out of control spending, corporate take overs and plans for a complete welfare state perpetrated by "Obama and Friends" does not equal "socialism."

The very word "socialists" is just a "scare tactic" and "a winner in tarring President Obama and his allies," Harrop declares. Ironically, Harrop also brings up "Republican lawmakers" who "want to dismantle Medicare" in the very same article. While the mentioning of these "Republican lawmakers" has zero relevance to the article, her inability to stick to the subject does unintentionally serve as the prime example of a political "scare tactic." This token election-time line, while empty, has been shoveled by the Democratic party for years.

Harrop also advocates for the implementation of banking methods from declared socialist countries in lieu of the capitalistic approach that has kept America at the top of her game for hundreds of years-calling the European Union banks "a model of restraint by comparison." In addition, she asks "where do we sign," to set ours rumps and get paid like the French. But remember folks, if it's done in America, it's not socialism

What do I say about "buzz word of the day?

When "heading" anywhere, at what point do we actually arrive? Wake up and see the carbon footprints in the sand, America. We are there! Apparently-at the very least-Investors Business Daily agrees with me. A month ago, IBD declared that we had officially arrived in an editorial titled 'On The Road To Socialism? We've Arrived!.'

When thinking of the "s-word," I also fear that it is merely a temporary stop for America. Don't get me wrong. It's not because I prefer socialism to have a permanent place in my country. No, I simply fear that there is something far more sinister awaiting us on the horizon. In precious little time "Obama and Friends" has hammered a death nail of debt into this country that will take us generations to repair if we hope to ever to return to the prosperity and freedoms provided to us by capitalism. With so much time left and the wheel for "Obama and Friends" what's next?

There's still many things left for accomplishment on the "change" agenda. While government controlled access to health care appears first and foremost on the agenda, congressional Democrats are also pining to bring back the Fairness Doctrine that would effectively squash dissenting conservative talk shows and etc. Obama-not satisfied with his recent accomplishment of merely forcing taxpayers to fund abortions at home and abroad-now seeks to force doctors to perform abortions on demand by rescinding protections in the law for health care professionals who do not perform abortions due to objections in conscience. The list of plans authored by these power hungry jackals to suspend liberties and traditions in America appears to go on and on.

"In a statement by Wagoner released last night, the now-former CEO states specifically that Administration officials “requested that I “step aside”’ as CEO of GM.” “And so I have,” he said. No pretense of an agonized decision, no pretending that the board asked him to go, simply that the White House asked him to go and he left...

And despite President Obama’s statement today that “the federal government has no interest in running GM” that is exactly what it is doing..."

Next time, it's off with his head!

Christian Science Monitor reports:
“While Chrysler and GM are very different companies with very different paths forward, both need a fresh start to implement the restructuring plans they develop,” Mr. Obama said Monday morning, flanked by members of his task force on the auto industry. “That may mean using our bankruptcy code as a mechanism to help them restructure quickly and emerge stronger.”

But not until I say of course. Maybe I will throw around more of my money first. Oh what a tease I can be! It's so great to be king!

Bloomberg reports:
"GM will get “adequate working capital” over the next 60 days, while the auto task force works with the company to assess whether it has consolidated enough brands and its debt load, the administration said."

But only if they start taking their court jester duties more seriously.

Dallas Morning News reports:
"Obama's auto industry task force, in a report released Sunday night, concluded that Chrysler could not survive as a stand-alone company. The report said the company would get no more help from the government unless it can finalize a proposed alliance with Italian automaker Fiat by April 30. It must also reduce its debt and health care obligations.

If a deal is reached between Chrysler and Fiat, the administration says it would consider another loan of $6 billion to Chrysler."

American States Rolling Out Sovereignty Legislation

Prior to the crowning of "King Obama-Lama-the-Great," I never argued that he would not indeed bring change to America. In fact, it was his very idea of "change" that I feared most, and hence I fought tirelessly against his election. Now it appears that many Americans are finally starting to wipe the media delivered donkey dust from their eyes to see Obama's true idea of change-which apparently includes things like the suspension of many liberties afforded to U.S. citizens, "big" government taking over the private banking industry and government controlled access to healthcare. What comes next? God only knows.

Still think I'm just a right-wing, paranoid nut throwing rocks? Then let me ask you this.

What makes an American state-outside of fear of big government- feel the need to reaffirm, publicly claim and legally assert its sovereignty from the federal government? Why is there a recent rush to do so? How secure do Americans really feel today with their freedoms and their interests in the hands of Obama-Lama-Ding-Dong and friends? Also, what does this say about the times we are living in?

Pastor Hoye Sentenced to 30 days Plus fine; Case Still at Impasse

Press release via The Movement for a Better America:

OAKLAND, CA -- February 19 -- Rev. Walter Hoye of Berkeley, California was sentenced this afternoon to 30 days in jail and fined $1,130.00 by Judge Hing of the Alameda Superior Court.

Pastor Hoye was found guilty last month of “unlawfully approaching a person entering an abortion clinic in Oakland.” In fact, he had been peacefully carrying a sign reading, “Jesus Loves You! Let Us Help,” and offering women information on alternatives to abortion.

Video evidence offered to the court showed clearly that escorts from the abortion clinic had repeatedly harassed Pastor Hoye by trying to block his sign with blank signs of their own. (The videos can be seen at http://www.lldf.org.)

The hearing was eventful, and at one point a black pastor who was there to support Pastor Hoye was physically removed from the courtroom.

Dozens of African-American pastors from around the nation who were there to support Rev. Hoye were outraged by the sentence. They called it “a travesty that Rev. Hoye was found guilty for standing in the gap for black children targeted by the abortion industry.” Now they are simply enraged.

“It is absolutely incredible that in America an individual can be sentenced to jail for engaging in peaceful free speech activity on a public sidewalk,” remarked Allison Aranda, Staff Counsel for Life Legal Defense Foundation. Aranda stated that “Rev. Hoye has a legal right to refuse onerous conditions of probation. Rev. Hoye will not and should not agree to give up his free speech rights. We will appeal.”

Meanwhile, the court is allowing Hoye to serve his time through community service.

However, Judge Hing ordered Hoye to stay away from the clinic. Hoye objected to the stay-away order as a continued violation of his constitutional free speech rights. The judge imposed the order anyway. Hoye may be jailed immediately if he shows up at the clinic.

Rev. Hoye is an African-American pastor who feels called to work for the end of the genocide-by-abortion taking place in the African-American community. An estimated 19 million black babies have been aborted since 1970, according to Dennis Howard, President of the Movement for a Better America.

Howard said, “That is 7.7 times the African-American population of California, and nearly half (49.6%) of the 2006 African-American population of the entire United States. It is also 5,500 times more than all blacks lynched between 1886 and 1968. That is why Pastor Hoye and other black pastors feel an urgent need to speak out and to witness against abortion.”

Hoye said: “The silence in the Black American Church regarding the evil of abortion is killing us.”

That’s why he is willing to risk jail by standing in front of an abortion clinic in Oakland with leaflets offering abortion alternatives and a sign reading, “Jesus loves you and your baby. Let us help.”

Meanwhile, Dennis Howard has called on all pastors, clergy, bishops, and lay people of all faiths “to join in a nationwide campaign of prayer and fasting to end this persecution of a man of conscience.”

Howard has done extensive research on the economic impact of abortion and its devastating impact on faith communities in the United States. As an example, he estimates “that there an estimated 24 million Catholics missing because of abortion and the aggressive use of contraception. Plus an estimated 45 million Catholics who no longer attend church regularly. That adds up to a huge loss of faith as well as a huge financial loss. Pastor Hoye is right when he says ‘the evil of abortion is killing us.’”

According to the 2008 U.S. Statistical Abstract, the most recent statistics show 654 abortions for every 1000 live births for Black and other races (a rate of 39.5%), compared to 221 abortions for every 1000 live births for whites (a rate of 18.1%).

According to Howard, “This reflects the targeting of blacks by organizations like Planned Parenthood, the concentration of abortion facilities in poor urban areas, and the active support of abortion by liberal black politicians like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Barack Obama.”

LLDF Legal Director Catherine Short and attorney Mike Millen, who represented Rev. Hoye, are currently challenging the constitutionality of the ordinance on Rev. Hoye’s behalf in federal court. They are hopeful the ordinance will be struck down and Hoye vindicated.

NEWSFLASH: Will Pastor Hoye be Jailed for Jesus?

This letter contains important updates on the case and details about how you can help a pastor who is facing two years of jail time for offering to help women outside a racially motivated abortion clinic.

Interest in Pastor Walter Hoye’s case is running high across the country. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, February 19, 2009, at 1:30 pm Pacific time. All people of good will across the country are invited to join in a torrent of prayer and fasting that God will spare him from a likely sentence of two years and $4,000 that he is facing.

The only "crime" Pastor Hoye is guilty of committing is bringing Christ’s love and truth to women so desperate that they are considering aborting their children – formed in their womb in their own image and that of a loving God.

Hoye freely admits to carrying a sign reading “Jesus Loves You! Let Us Help!” And offering women information about alternatives to abortion. Videos taken at the time prove that he did not approach anybody in a hostile or threatening manner. On the contrary, he was repeatedly harassed by abortion clinic escorts who tried to block any view of his sign with signs of their own at least 20% bigger.

If he is sentenced to jail tomorrow, he will be jailed for Jesus and for offering a hand of hope to women who had lost all hope of their own for a better life for themselves and their children.

It will be a grave violation of Pastor Hoye’s civil and religious liberties guaranteed by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. It will compound the evil being done to the unborn who are being denied the blessings of liberty promised to them in the Preamble to the Constitution, and the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit happiness affirmed in the Declaration.

If Hoye goes to jail, it will be a call to all Americans who still believe in fundamental fairness and justice – values so often proclaimed by the liberal left and so often denied. For as long as he remains incarcerated, we will not rest in pleading his cause before the Throne of Justice of Almighty God.

As soon as we receive word of the outcome, we will email it to all on our list . . . calling for Allelulia’s if he is spared . . . and a campaign of prayer and fasting that will lost as long as Pastor Hoye is in jail.

Some have been reluctant to join in this effort, sitting on the sidelines hoping that this case will simply go away. If the court relents on Thursday, they may be proven right. But they need to remember, as in the days of Nazi Germany, that first they came for the disabled and the handicapped, then for the insane and the homosexuals, and then for the Jews and for Christians who dared to protest. And then they came for us.

Right now, they are coming for this humble Black Pastor, Rev Walter Hoye. We appeal especially to pastors and bishops of other Christian faiths and laity of all faiths to stand with Pastor Hoye in his time of trial and struggle. Loonies Can Threaten Our Kids But Pastors Helping Them Is A CRIME!

Recently I wrote about how left wing, jihad-loving loonies surrounded children from a church group, threatened and attempted to block their entrance into a Christian concert-all in the "defense of Palestine against Israel"-and the police department in Charlotte, NC said that the group was simply exercising "their right" to protest. See initial report here and its follow up here.

Yet when a pastor stands outside what appears to be a racially motivated abortion clinic offering to help someone who is considering abortion, he's a criminal according to law enforcement in Oakland, CA.

Star Parker at Dakota Voice reports:

A black pastor awaits sentencing, which could amount to two years in prison and $4,000 in fines, for standing outside an inner city abortion clinic holding a sign saying “Jesus Loves You & Your Baby, Let Us Help You,” and offering pro-life literature.

Walter Hoye, founder and chairman of the Issues4Life Foundation, was found guilty of “unlawful approach” under the “Access to Reproductive Health Care Facilities Ordinance” enacted in Oakland in 2008.

Under the ordinance, it is prohibited, within 100 feet of the entrance to a “reproductive health facility,” to approach within eight feet of a client “for the purpose of counseling, harassing, or interfering” with that person.

“Harassing” means holding up a sign, passing out literature or offering counseling.

The “reproductive health care facility” in question is Family Planning Specialists in Oakland. Looking over their Web site, it’s clear that there is only one kind of reproductive health care they provide. Abortions.

According to testimony of the facility’s executive director, they perform about one hundred abortions per week. Assuming an average of $600 per abortion (from the fee schedule on the website), that’s about $3 million a year in revenue. Not bad for an inner city neighborhood business.

Pastor Hoye’s conviction is strange in that no “victim” testified against him — there was only testimony from those with an interest in the clinic — employees and volunteers, no specific incident was cited, videotape showed Hoye standing peacefully holding his sign and materials, and the convicting jury was given no instructions regarding the definition of “approach.”

Nevertheless, Hoye has been convicted and may wind up in jail and liable for thousands of dollars in fines.

But beyond the troubling details of this trial and conviction, circumstances surrounding the case convey the realities of our deeply confused and lost nation.

Abortion clinics such as Family Planning Specialists strategically locate to optimize their deadly business. This means in poor black neighborhoods.

One group can threaten, harass and attempt to detain children from their right to worship on behalf of another group who uses children as human shields and their schools as rocket pads and that's okay? Yet when another groups stands outside of an abortion clinic and offers to help an unborn child and his or her mother if they are willing-that's not okay?

Welcome to America. Please pardon our hypocrisy and anti-Christian political agenda-and God help our children.

On Tuesday, history was made. It is a day that will make the "New Deal" of 1939 look like a shopping trip to K-mart during a blue light special. It was on Tuesday, February 10,2008, that "Obama-the-Great's" decree for approximately $838 billion in additional spending was made official.

Republican Sens. Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins labored vigorously to help ensure that the "Great One's" orders were carried out with due diligence in the U.S. Senate. For that, I would like to dedicate this video from Youtube in their honor.

While many of us are praying for our jobs and worrying about the financial security of our nation, President Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats have seen fit put forth the largest liberal spending wish-list in our nation's history under the guise of an "economic stimulus package" that will produce jobs. The $990 billion dollar (and growing) measure contains massive spending and accommodations for almost any special interest and ideological agenda any Democrat-especially those whom may owe a favor-could possibly dream of.

Glenn Beck recently highlighted some of funds appropriations contained in the bill:

• $825 billion total (as of 1/15/09)
• $550 billion in new spending, described as thoughtful and carefully targeted priority investments with unprecedented accountability measures built in.
• $275 billion in tax relief ($1,000 tax cut for families, $500 tax cut for individuals through SS payroll deductions)
• $ 90 billion for infrastructure
• $ 87 billion Medicaid aid to states
• $ 79 billion school districts/public colleges to prevent cutbacks
• $ 54 billion to encourage energy production from renewable sources
• $ 41 billion for additional school funding ($14 billion for school modernizations and repairs, $13 billion for Title I, $13 billion for IDEA special education funding, $1 billion for education technology)
• $ 24 billion for "health information technology to prevent medical mistakes, provide better care to patients and introduce cost-saving efficiencies" and "to provide for preventative care and to evaluate the most effective healthcare treatments."
• $ 16 billion for science/technology ($10 billion for science facilities, research, and instrumentation; $6 billion to expand broadband to rural areas)
• $ 15 billion to increase Pell grants by $500
• $ 6 billion for the ambiguous "higher education modernization."

These appropriations in particular have the GOP scratching their head in awe:

• $2 billion earmark to re-start FutureGen, a near-zero emissions coal power plant in Illinois that the Department of Energy defunded last year because it said the project was inefficient.
• A $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film.
• $650 million for the digital television converter box coupon program.
• $88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker (arctic ship).
• $448 million for constructing the Department of Homeland Security headquarters.
• $248 million for furniture at the new Homeland Security headquarters.
• $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees.
• $400 million for the Centers for Disease Control to screen and prevent STD's.
• $1.4 billion for rural waste disposal programs.
• $125 million for the Washington sewer system.
• $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities.
• $1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion.
• $75 million for "smoking cessation activities."
• $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges.
• $75 million for salaries of employees at the FBI.
• $25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction.
• $500 million for flood reduction projects on the Mississippi River.
• $10 million to inspect canals in urban areas.
• $6 billion to turn federal buildings into "green" buildings.
• $500 million for state and local fire stations.
• $650 million for wildland fire management on forest service lands.
• $1.2 billion for "youth activities," including youth summer job programs.
• $88 million for renovating the headquarters of the Public Health Service.
• $412 million for CDC buildings and property.
• $500 million for building and repairing National Institutes of Health facilities in Bethesda, Maryland.
• $160 million for "paid volunteers" at the Corporation for National and Community Service.
• $5.5 million for "energy efficiency initiatives" at the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration.
• $850 million for Amtrak.
• $100 million for reducing the hazard of lead-based paint.
• $75 million to construct a "security training" facility for State Department Security officers when they can be trained at existing facilities of other agencies.
• $110 million to the Farm Service Agency to upgrade computer systems.
• $200 million in funding for the lease of alternative energy vehicles for use on military installations.

The NPR reports:

"When congressional leaders began to assemble the mammoth economic stimulus bill, top Democrats and the Obama administration decided that there would be no earmarks: no "special projects," no pork-barrel spending.

Yet somehow, bacon by any other name smells the same. Pro Publica also offers the following report on the "economic stimulus":

The package includes an insurance exemption -- but only for companies that work on recreational boats longer than 65 feet. Another provision would lift a Medicare regulation affecting only three long-term care hospitals in the country. There's also language requiring the Transportation Security Administration to buy 100,000 uniforms from U.S. apparel makers...

Specific location? The Senate stimulus contains $50 million for habitat restoration and other water needs in the San Francisco Bay area. There is another $62 million for military projects in Guam.

Specific industry? The House bill includes an amendment authored by Democratic Rep. Bruce Braley setting aside $500 million for biofuel makers, which he says, would bring jobs home to Iowa.

Specific program? There's $198 million to compensate Filipino World War II veterans for their service. Most don't live in the United States.

Two House Democrats with a hunger for transit money -- Rep. Jerrold Nadler of New York and Ed Perlmutter of Colorado -- helped secure the extra $3 billion, pushing total transit funding in the House bill to $12 billion. Nadler touted [6] it as a boon for commuters that would help New York City's financially strapped subway system jumpstart work on a huge backlog of projects.

Apparently banning freedom of religious expression by students on campus would also help the economy according to the Democratic party. U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) blew the whistle and came out swinging on this one. He released a statement on 02-05-2007 saying:

Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) made the following statement after Democrats voted 43-54 against his amendment to strike language from the economic stimulus bill that discriminates against students of faith. Senator DeMint’s amendment would have eliminated a provision that bans any university or college receiving funds to renovate buildings, from allowing “sectarian instruction” or “religious worship” within the facility. This would in effect bar use of campus buildings for groups like the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Campus Crusade for Christ, Catholic Student Ministries, Hillel, and other religious organizations.

CAIRO, Egypt – President Barack Obama chose an Arabic satellite TV network for his first formal television interview as president, part of a concerted effort to repair relations with the Muslim world that were damaged under the previous administration.

Obama cited his Muslim background and relatives, practically a taboo issue during the U.S. presidential campaign, and said in the interview, which aired Tuesday, that one of his main tasks was to communicate to Muslims "that the Americans are not your enemy."

I guess that's why he dumped the bible when he took the oath of office for real.

After constitutional law experts questioned the validity of his swearing-in because of a fluffed line in the oath of office, Mr Obama moved quickly to quash speculation that his presidency was in any way illegitimate.

John Roberts, the Chief Justice charged who helped bungle the oath on Tuesday, was summoned to the White House and, in front of a small pool of reporters, Mr Obama carefully and accurately repeated the 35-word oath prescribed by Article 2 of the Constitution.

The problem was, no-one thought to bring a Bible and Mr Obama decided to go ahead without one.

Obama also emphasized the importance of engaging with Iran, a country the Bush administration often singled out as the most dangerous in the region.

After earlier dismissing Obama as following the same policies as his predecessor, officials from the militant Palestinian Hamas group softened their stance against the new president Tuesday.

"In the last couple of days there have been a lot of statements (from Obama), some of them very positive, and choosing this George Mitchell as an envoy," said Ahmed Youssef, a senior Hamas official interviewed on the Doha-based Al-Jazeera news network. "I think there are some positive things we have to count."

Carter: We should trust Hamas. "They've never betrayed any commitment."

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter likes nut farms. Peanut farming is a family tradition in the Carter family. Although he's aging, he apparently wants us all to know that he is still a proud and active member of the biggest nationwide nut farm in existence today-the Democratic Party.

The "charter" of the terrorist group Hamas states that "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it." During a Monday interview, Carter informed us that Hamas is indeed trustworthy nonetheless. When asked point blank by Meridith Vieira on NBC's 'Today' show if he believed Hamas could be trusted even while calling for the destruction of Israel, he said, "yes, I do. I think they can." He also went on to declare that "they've never betrayed any commitment that they've made to me or publicly, as a matter of fact."

Oh really Jimmy?

When the NY Sun runs headlines like "The Gaza Rockets Again Break Hamas Truce Pledge"-regarding the deal brokered between Israel and Hamas by Egypt in June of 2008-I guess they are simply being satirical. Apparently Hamas themselves also enjoy clowning around. Their "charter" also states that "there is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."

Thanks for setting us straight, Mr. President. We all enjoy a good laugh. I just wonder if you can guess who the joke is really on?

Pro-Palestinian Group Admits To Victimizing Attendees At Christian Concert

After a little research, it appears that I may have found the toads responsible for attacking the children trying to attend the Christian concert in Charlotte on January 11, 2008.

I had a feeling that the group responsible was a little too proud of themselves to keep it quiet and it appears that I was right. Here is an excerpt from the blog article titled "Jan. 11 Free Palestine Protesters Shut Down Pro-U.S./Israeli War Rally," by David Dixon of the "Charlotte Free Gaza Movement" as published on "Action Center for Justice."

Charlotte NC - On Jan. 11, over 100 people, mostly Muslim & Palestinian, including many students & children, marched through uptown Charlotte to a Pro-Israel Rally & held a loud protest across the street.

Chants included "Shame, Shame Israel," "Stop The Killing, Stop The Crime," "Free Free Palestine," "Baby Killers You Will See, Palestine Will Be Free," "Olmert, Olmert You Should Know, Back To Palestine We Will Go," "Gaza Gaza Don't You Cry, Palestine Will Never Die," "Occupation Is A Crime, Free, Free Palestine," "Stop Killing Children," "Stop Supporting Israel," "From The River To The Sea, Palestine Will Be Free," "Long Live Palestine," and others.

It goes on to say:

Free Palestine protesters began taunting them with loud chants of "Baby Killers Came To Town, We Came & Shut Them Down!" After the Pro-Israel Rally abruptly dispersed, protesters chanted, "The People United Will Never Be Defeated."

They then marched through uptown, chanting loudly, & held a spirited rally at Bobcat Arena where some type of an evangelical christian rival was going on.

First of all, I believe the word they were shooting for was "revival" and not "rival"-but who knows? Second of all, it's nice to know they are so blatantly proud of themselves. I guess they decided that going all the way and saying something like "we attacked a bunch of innocent children who had zero to do with any protests that may be going on around town and were simply trying to attend a worship service," would be a little over the top.

Apparently the group has already selected their next group of victims and have the blessing of various other local and national groups:

Palestinian Protesters Attack Children At Christian Concert

On Sunday, January 11, 2008 a portion of my daughter's youth group from church attended a Christian concert festival called "Winter Jam" at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was expected to be a great time and it was once they entered the building. Unfortunately the group of ten to twelve year old children paid for their moment of fellowship and worship with every step they took towards the entrance.

When the youth group tried to enter the event, they were surrounded by a group of "Palestinian" protesters against Israel. The protesters surrounded the American children, screamed profanity and called them horrible names such as "baby murderers," while waving signs of what was portrayed as "mangled" children from "Palestine." In order to enter, the children had to be surrounding by adult chaperons and pushed through.

After being told what happened by both my daughter and her youth director on Sunday night, I contacted the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department in North Carolina on Monday, January 12, 2008, requested to file a complaint and asked for an explanation as to why this was allowed by the city.

Instead of the police department honoring my request, I was left on the phone and bounced from one employee to another. I eventually landed on the phone with a police representative who called himself "Dante" and refused to give a last name. In lieu of filing a report, "Dante" talked to me like a two year old and declared that the protesters where "well within their rights" and that it was "their freedom" to do these things. I was eventually bounced on to another person by "Dante" before my telephone finally went dead.

After more calls, I did eventually make contact with one professional individual at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department who was willing to put their personal political agenda aside and do their job. I was allowed to file a "narrative report" by this individual but even then I was specifically told that my complaint would "not be investigated."

Let's get this straight. The "Palestinian" protesters were "well within their rights" to detain, deter, harass, threaten and block a child's access to a peaceful act of worship in their religion? I imagine my complaint would have been addressed quite differently if the situation was reverse and it were Islamic children who were affected.

It is true that the children of "Palestine" are victims but it is not because of other countries like Israel and America that tries to protect its own children and their right to exist. It is also not because of other religions who don't agree with Islamic beliefs. It is because the very adults who are supposed to protect these children insist on making them targets in lieu of a treasure. These children are tragically forced into a dark world where their "innocent" caretakers allow their schools to be used as launching grounds for terrorist rocket attacks and use Mickey Mouse-like characters to tell them at an early age how to kill Jews.

It is not the policy of Christianity or Judaism to indoctrinate or involve their children in hate-filled political doctrine and attacks. However those rallying the "Palestinian" battle-cry appear determined to reduce our children to political pawns as well. As the mainstream media gushes forth with prideful reports regarding the "peaceful" protests on behalf of "Palestinians" and police departments turn their heads, it appears that they are succeeding in their mission. This Wednesday night, I will be forced to explain the heartless political antics of the protest group to my own group of saddened and confused kids.

Washington Post Launches Pay-To-Praise Obama Program

The Washington Post may have failed to cash in during the election fiasco, but that hasn't stopped it from trying. In lieu of resorting to crazy measures-like offering unbiased and hard hitting investigative pieces about the "great one,"-they appear to be searching for other ways to pay for ~~their Obama PR work~~ the publication. For example, they are now selling Obama-friendly ad space.

FishbowlDC has reported obtaining the following internal notice:

WashingtonPost Media is at the epicenter of the inauguration, and the Classifieds team is giving readers the chance to send a personal message of congratulations to President-Elect Obama that can be read by millions. The announcements can be placed though the call center or online, with prices starting at $10 for the combo. TWP anticipates about 2,500 - 3,000 announcements will be posted, to appear in the January 20 inaugural issue and live online from today until President's Day. This is a floating section, but users can find it via print and online promotions and through the global search bar.

The idea came from Leverne Moore Laws at TWP, and within a matter of days, both The Washington Post and WPNI were running at full speed to meet an aggressive deadline. This historic product would not have been possible without: Jackie Conrad, Galen Derry, Chris Wagner, Darren Bailey, Rakesh Mishra, Chris Buddie, Al Funk, George Smorse (who gave up vacation time), Rochelle Sanchirico, Dave Hayman, Kris Coratti, Maria Cereghino, Dave Marino-Nachison, Sherrese Smith, Tola Sanni, Ilene Cook and the support of Candy Lee.

In the glorious-yet somewhat buried-public announcement, the Washington Post specifically states its requirements for purchased ad space in the fine print. "All ads must be congratulatory in nature," it insists and you better tow the line because the publication "reserves the right to reject any notice."

NOW Is Israel's Time To Toast Iran

If they plan to do so, now is the time for Israel to toast Iran-and I'm not talking about raising a glass towards Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. I'm talking about lighting them up like a Christmas tree.

Iran has become increasingly blatant in its determination to become a nuclear threat to democracy and stability in the middle east. In fact, an Iranian nuclear scientist has claimed that the 5.0 Richter earthquake that shook Iran on November 1, 2008 was actually a nuclear bomb test in a project that he was working on. Israel Insider adds that the test was actually the second in a series. On October 21, 2008 a 4.8 Richter scale event occurred, with its epicenter only five kilometers away from the weekend tremor.

Efraim Inbar, director of the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies at Bar-Ilan University near Tel Aviv recently spoke of the international community's quiet desire to simply let Israel handle the problem. "They will be very happy if we do their dirty work for them," said Inbar, "The world is moving into 'What can we do about it?' mode. There is a strong instinct here to do it on our own."

If Israel is going to take a military strike at Iran's nuclear program, it better do it soon. On January 20, 2009, Senator Barack Obama will become the 44th President of The United States of America. If Obama's campaign rhetoric and radical associations is any indication of his possible administrative response, Israel may be unable to rely on support and backing from the Oval Office from that point forward.

Prior to the election, Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch summed up the situation with Obama quite well. "We're facing the prospect of electing a president who will betray one of our strongest and most reliable allies, and that will only hand a victory to the jihadists who are arrayed against Israel and arrayed against the United States," he contended.

Inbar has also discussed the possible impact of the Obama administration. "There could be more pressure on Israel to take more risks, like removing security checkpoints in the West Bank," he said. "The Iranians will exploit Obama's willingness to talk to them to play for time."

Castro Plays Obama's Race Card and Expresses Fear of "Rifle Lady"

Back in May, Communist Cuban leader, Fidel Castro gave Sen. Barack Obama a glowing recommendation for the 2008 election. Castro called Obama a "man who is doubtless, from the social and human points of view, the most progressive candidate to the U.S. presidency." He also expressed his reluctance at making his favor for Obama known. "Were I to defend him, I would do his adversaries an enormous favor," he said.

Apparently, Castro's affliction of Obama-mania is beginning to overshadow his fear that defending Obama would result in voter backlash against the Senator. As the election nears, Castro has made his choice further known in a scathing attack against Caucasian Americans.

"Millions of whites cannot reconcile in their minds with the idea that a black man with his wife and children would move into the White House, which is called just like that - White," he wrote Saturday in a commentary on the Cubadebate website. He lamented that America was a nation that suffered from "deep racism" and that "it is a pure miracle" that Obama has not been assassinated.

As Castro heaped praises for Sen. Obama, he also expressed his displeasure with Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin.

He described Obama as a man with "the habit of looking at its opponent calmly and laughing at the predicament of a dialectical opponent that looks to nothingness" and said that Obama is "without doubt, more than his opponent in intelligence and serenity." He then mocked Sen. John McCain's grades in the naval academy and expressed his fears that the "the rifle lady" would have to take over due to John McCain's age if he were to become president.
