You see, <a href="http://blogs.sltrib.com/burger/uploaded_images/JonasBrothers9-786539.jpg">Glenn Beck</a> was coming to town to speak at a fancy dinner type thingy, you probably saw the billboard if you frequent the i15, and Mitt Romney was going to introduce him via satellite. What does that have to do with <span style="font-style: italic;">anything</span> you axe? Apparently Inside Sales, where Cole is Master and Commander of all things design, had the opportunity to place in front if Mitt what <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OOZ5dcP4kZo/SjQS9lLDXkI/AAAAAAAAARo/aFr0bpAGtAI/s1600-h/joe.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 256px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OOZ5dcP4kZo/SjQS9lLDXkI/AAAAAAAAARo/aFr0bpAGtAI/s320/joe.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346919506755411522" border="0" /></a><br />we recently found out was called a <span style="font-style: italic;">bumper</span>, but<br />at the time could only think to call it a Snarf Blatt, for lack of a real definition, and a loss of how to find the real definition. I mean, what is Google supposed to come up with when you type... "you know that thingy that production companies and studios put at the beginning of movies, and stuff... like the FOX, and MGM lion... thingy!" into the search field? I finally found it a few days later, and promptly texted it to everyone involved at about two in the morning.<br /><br />Digressions aside, I arrived at the Novell Campus, and was briefed on the assignment. Glenn Beck was coming the next day, and we had this one working Friday to come up with something super badical (not my words). To make a long, hilarious and other wise interesting story short, we did it. And Cole put it on You Tube. They used to come so annoyingly often Micah?'<br /><br />I'll tell you.<br /><br />Ever since Camille and I introduced our son <a href="http://micahandcamille.blogspot.com/2009/02/burns-supper-stone-hill-january-31-2009.html">Nigel</a> to <a href="http://www.subpop.com/artists/the_helio_sequence">Helio Sequence</a> this is the <span style="font-style: italic;">only</span> song he will listen to in the car, which is where I do the greatest majority of my music listening. Every time the song ends (and sometimes after it has only just begun) Nigel will yell out in his cutest pleading voice, "Gen, gen... pweez!" we easily oblige. It's been his favorite for over two weeks now, and I'm still not sick of it. I think I said in an earlyer post that this album is the best of 2008, and I stand by it. I couldn't remember them so I had to find the album (Camille actually found it I couldn't). I haven't listened to this song in about two years, but it is very telling of where my life was back when I wrote it, and poignant when I consider where I am today. What a great vacation. I had a lovely time away, but now I'm back and so to are the blogs, hopefully. Here is the best song I heard over My Christmas holiday at my parents new home in Sparks NV.<br /><br /><object height="344" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NxKuc2vBlZw&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NxKuc2vBlZw&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></embed></object><br /><br />More importantly here is a clip of the Danny Kay collection my (<a href="http://happyhobotradingpost.blogspot.com/2008/12/blog-post.html">awesome and talented</a>) <a href="http://frog-snot.blogspot.com/2008/12/guy-like-me.html">brother</a> s, my (badical) <a href="http://www.cnbztribe.blogspot.com/">sister</a> and (so so) I got for my parents.<br /><br /><object height="295" width="480"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LS75NtlH3gI&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LS75NtlH3gI&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="295" width="480"></embed></object><br /><br />On a side note, Camille and I went to see The Nutcracker with my brother Jordan and his wife Ruth. The post below reminded me. I think it was the first ballet I've seen. In fact I'm sure it was. I'd have remembered. I liked it.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7000616867993027930-1363135686940053508?l=micahdahl.blogspot.com'/></div>Micahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14937229388673044218noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000616867993027930.post-16385243204148669852008-12-18T01:41:00.000-08:002008-12-18T02:14:30.760-08:00The eCard<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_OOZ5dcP4kZo/SUofA-l2RPI/AAAAAAAAAP0/16Xx4ZDk3Eo/s1600-h/Picture+1.png"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 222px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_OOZ5dcP4kZo/SUofA-l2RPI/AAAAAAAAAP0/16Xx4ZDk3Eo/s320/Picture+1.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281067614707533042" border="0" /></a><br />My cousin Devon is a contender for the worlds greatest prankster. Tonight he sent me this seemingly harmless e-card that plays Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairies as it politely asks you to click on certain items in the picture that bring holiday cheer. "Click on the lamp post" it would say, "Click on the RED present... come on". As I clicked on each Item I braced myself for the inevitable screaming picture of the girl from The Exorcist to pop out, or Santa to come around the corner and moon me. But nothing happened! It <span style="font-style: italic;">was</span> actually harmless.<br /><br />I confess I was disappointed. Is Devon going soft on me? Or is he even more diabolical? Maybe he's been setting me up my whole life for the freak me out with nothing prank. I used to ride my scooter fifteen miles to and from <a href="http://www.abc4.com/news/local/story/Award-winning-music-school-closes-in-American-Fork/OObQUWPhWUeolt34fB7hFQ.cspx" target="blank">The Music School</a> were I used to teach guitar, percussion, recording, and band classes, all on back roads since it wasn't fast enough to go on the free way. Listening to this album, and riding that scooter took me to a very nice place (of mind).<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7000616867993027930-5415394739582716777?l=micahdahl.blogspot.com'/></div>Micahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14937229388673044218noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000616867993027930.post-4717346776412157902008-12-11T00:00:00.001-08:002008-12-11T00:00:01.236-08:00Motorcrash, A Proper Motorcrash<object height="344" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/U_D6nxAa7rA&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/U_D6nxAa7rA&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></embed></object><br /><br />I can't believe no one commented on yesterday's song of the day. That is one of the most beautiful songs <span style="font-style: italic;">ever</span>. I totally learned it to play for my <a href="http://www.thegatsbys.com/" target="blank">wedding band</a>, and got to perform it twice at the Utah State Hospital-Psychiatric Christmas Dinner. Once for the Forensics dinner, which was a bit scary (those are the murderers and rapists), and then at the administration building. My good buddy <a href="http://thechildrenkids.blogspot.com/2008/06/meet-children-kids-team.html" target="blank">Joe LeBaron</a> works there, and asked if I'd play some of there favorites. He is one of the coolest guys this world has to offer.<br /><br />Another thing about yesterday's post is how old that guy is. He said he was twenty two "or what ever", but he seems much older to me, maybe it's the beard, but my actual theory is that he has a very old soul, maybe thirty or forty lives under his belt.<br /><br />Finlay lets talk about today's post. I grew up with the Sugar Cubes, though we never actually bought this album. You may recognize this cute little number as Bjork in the musical act Bjork. If you think she looks different in this video, you should see my all time favorite <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_0uVxhHn6U">Sugar Cubes</a> song on you tube. And yeah, I know, they're much better to just listen to.<br /><br />OK, last thing. I have been using You tube a lot lately to do my posts, not because I do a lot of you tube surfing. I don't. But most of my songs for the day are up there in video form, which is great because I don't have to host mp3s. I'm running out of space on my website, where I host the song of the day songs. So I'm working on getting more space, since I hear from some of you that you don't like waiting so long for the video to load, or some of your connections flat won't play you tube stuff. Hopefully soon. Of course that will mean you have to actually leave reader and go to the blog to listen. You tell me.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7000616867993027930-471734677641215790?l=micahdahl.blogspot.com'/></div>Micahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14937229388673044218noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000616867993027930.post-53258805088657498872008-12-10T00:00:00.000-08:002008-12-10T00:00:00.743-08:00Tiger Mountain Peasant Song<object height="344" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OxHMMkPiHKc&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OxHMMkPiHKc&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></embed></object><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7000616867993027930-5325880508865749887?l=micahdahl.blogspot.com'/></div>Micahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14937229388673044218noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7000616867993027930.post-4511201755262960142008-12-09T00:00:00.002-08:002008-12-09T10:02:59.795-08:00Did You Ever Call?
