There was a huge fuss when they painted over the mural — but in a year or so you won't be able to see that wall at all anyway, because they're building some tacky new flats in the vacant lot next to it. I think the top pair's the most telling: what used to be a pawn shop is now a hip cafe, and the airconditioner in the little window's the sort of thing that's common now but unheard of when I took the original pic.
