Dear Blogger,

We are searching for a few good experts on gardening, garden design, landscape, etc. to be part of an on-going online panel. Candidates should provide a fresh perspective to gardening and be the antithesis of the stodgy, Martha-type. The ideal candidate should have a bold personality, a sense of humor as well as the ability and willingness to share their gardening tips and advice to fellow gardeners and aspiring gardeners across the country.

Requirements:
Candidates will work with us over the course of two years on the following:
• Providing online advise once a week to up to five pre-selected gardeners
• Voting on consumer submissions once a week
• Selecting one national contest winner quarterly
• Blogging on the site once a week
The aforementioned should not take more than 1 hour a week and can be done at the panelists leisure from their own home.

In addition to the above “duties” we would want to elevate the profile of our experts via PR and online in year one and as such will most likely require one to two days for public relations, etc. as needed (we would cover all costs associated with this). In subsequent years we would expand the marketing mix to include: advertising, special interest publications and in-store.

In year two, the person will have to do limited travel up to five days over the course of the year.

If you like onions you should try growing ramps or wild leeks. I bought some plants last year to eat but planted some of the bulbs to see if it would grow. I also bought some seed but nothing sprouted. I can see some of the leeks peeking out from under leaves at least I'm hoping that they are the leeks and not daffodils or crocus. The leeks were delicious. You eat every bit of the plant leaves and all. Here's a link to my blog on ramps.
