Spent Saturday afternoon helping out my friend Ian as an assistant photographer. Sir Ian McKellen was unveiling a blue plaque for Stockport Garrick. He arrived with Anthony Cotton(Corri) and was treated to a tour of the threatre. After inveiing the plaque, followed by the Mayoress unveiling a plaque to commemorate Sir Ian unveiling a plaque. It was back to The Garrick for a history of the threatre, follwed by a unformal Q&A with Sir Ian. He also stayed to have a chat after too.
He's very down to earth and very talented.

A tiring but throughoutly enjoyable day.

A big thanks to Ian for asking me to help.

We were invited to Helen's sister house at Marple for a meal, followed by a short work to see the fireworks display.

It was lovely seeing it with good friends.

Star Struck

Andy and I had the night off from parent duty to go to see my friend singing at the Brigewater Hall. It was a 60s/70s event, so we all got dressed. I had a little pink dress on and Andy was a Hippy/Indian, complete with long black hair.

The concert was excellent and my friend did a solo section and I think she was the best.

Afterwards, we went to the Jury's Inn bar to celebrate. It was good to catch up with them without the kids distraction.

Whilst there, Pete Postlewaite came in. He is currently in The Tempest at the Royal Exchange.

Anyway, after giving him sometime to "chill", I went up to ask him if I can have a photo taken with him. The mixture of nerves and alchol made me came out with a jumbled up question. He paused. I thought, oh, I don't think he understand what I said!!!!!
Anyway, he didn't want to. But bless, he's such a gent! He appolgise for looking crap and it's his time off etc. and asked if that was ok.(and he grabbed my hand!)
Anyway, I ended up having agreat chat with him talking about the interview on Radio 5 the other day.

So, big thanks for Tina for inviting me to the concert!

A Pray for Madeleine

Yesterday, we briefly lost Naomi in Ikea. Ww actually had a annoucement for a lost child. She looked very guilty when we got to her. Although straight away she wanted to run off again!

So a prayer of Madeleine's parents and family, for God to give them strength to cope through the situation. For the police, to give them the wisdom.

Warning - this post contains random thoughts written at 5am. So even I may not understand later on!

I have been feeling really frustrated lately. As many of my friends know I'm not really happy with my job at the moment. The prospect of just bug fixing for another year of my life does not inspires. Although the major plus point is the flexibility of working from home whenever I need to, means I can't really give it up. The current answer to remedy this is to have "time-out" by going to many (if not some) casting/photo shoot with little one. Just to get a change of scenery I guess.

At the weekend I was at a major down, the lack of sleep throughout the week made it hard to fight it. The lowest point was Sunday lunchtime.
I have always felt like an outsider, never felt I quite belong to any group. I feel like I try so hard to try and get involved but in the end never feel quite fitting in. Always on the fringe. Most of time, I can handle this and sometime just push the thought to the background, but on the down days, I just can’t. Sunday was one of them.
For a while now I’ve been thinking about maybe looking for another church. I don’t feel “called” to any particular church, so I/We haven’t explored but instead just not go. I made an effort to go to church, even though Andy was away. The service was great and Gill’s sermon was thought provoking. What I should have done was to go home straight away afterwards. None of the friends I know best was there. So I try to make an effort and went to get a tea. It took me so long to get one, due to other people who are obviously more important to me diving in the “queue”. I actually gave up waiting at one point as I couldn’t even make eye contact with anyone let alone say Hello. At the second attempt, I had Naomi with me (she’s the only one who is talking to me) and a lady chatted about how tall she’s looking now. That’s it. What about me? How am I doing?
After getting my cold drink (as now I’m in danger of bursting into tears, so I want to gulp it down and leave), my pastoral visitor came over, we chatted and he asks me how I am(of course I can’t tell him how exactly I was feeling) and starting to don’t feel so bad.....then.... He asks if Andy and I would consider giving some time to help with one of the groups. Not till September. No pressure but they are desperate for help, etc etc. After mentioning this, of course he has to go. I’m left there thinking, hmm, what was his intention when he started talking to me. That was the finally straw, I grabbed Naomi and left. Never felt so out of place in the church that I am actually a member of. I give up. I don’t care anymore.
Went to C3 photography group Monday night, I really enjoyed it. And even though I didn’t know any of them at all. I didn’t feel out of place. Being a smaller groups helps/ Anyway, I think we’ll give c3 church a try. We’ll see how that pans out.

Decided then that I’m going to take time out trying so hard. Why should I? When I regain some mental energy I’ll try again. Just have to accept that I’ll always be a background person.

Learning German

Just got back from a quick trip to Stuttgart.

I was good to put a face to people I've spoken to on the phone in the last year.

It was a busy 2 days, with a night out to "town" on Monday, going to the "infamous" cocktail bar.

Most importantly, I have learnt to the German for Tomatoe Sauce.

Channel 4 greenlights 'God TV' doc

Channel 4 has commissioned a documentary about evangelical Christian channel God TV.

The programme, to be fronted by Keith Allen, will take a critical look at the British-owned Christian broadcaster and its fundraising activities.

Produced by Associated Rediffusion, the production company run by writer Victor Lewis-Smith, the 60-minute documentary is set for transmission later this year. The show was commissioned by Channel 4 head of entertainment Andrew Newman.

The company also made Tourettes de France, which saw Allen document his travels round France with a group of Tourette's Syndrome sufferers.

God TV currently broadcasts on Sky channel 760, on Ntl:Telewest and online. It was set up in 1995, and on its website claims to have a worldwide audience of 275 million. In September last year, Ntl announced it was working with God TV to built a hi-tech broadcast centre in Plympton, near Plymouth.

I have been keeping up with this year's Celeb Big Brother as I am a fan of Dirk Benedict.
At 62, he's still a bit of a looker.

I have been getting upset with Jade, Jo and Dani and Jack, ganging up on Shilpa.

I was happy that Jade is out and got a grilling from Davina. But having read the news online, I
concluded that they are right is thinking that she has been briefed before leaving.
I suppose now the bully is now being bullied by the press.

I feel sorry for her in some ways, seeing how her mother was with Shilpa before she left, it's no wonder that Jade will have the same attitude.

So how, I think she'll come of this, earning more than ever.

I read the following, see link, which made me laugh.

Jackiey Budden, who called Shetty "the Indian" and refused to pronounce her name properly, is a practising Muslim who performed prayers while in the house. The prayers appear to have been cut from footage shown in the nightly TV updates.
