WELSH(wales) police confirm UFO sighting over CARDIFF | June 20 ,2008

LONDON (AFP) - UFO enthusiasts got a boost Friday when Welsh police confirmed that one of their helicopter crews had spotted an "unusual aircraft" flying over Cardiff earlier this month. An investigation into the sighting had been launched, they said.

The police clarification came after The Sun reported a UFO had "attacked" a police helicopter, following it for several miles over the Bristol Channel. "The pilot banked sharply to avoid being hit, then launched into a high-speed pursuit. But he was forced to give up the chase as the helicopter's fuel ran low -- and the UFO escaped," the tabloid reported. The helicopter crew had described the object as "flying saucer-shaped and circled by flashing lights," it added.

"Err... " not so, said the police.

"South Wales Police can confirm its air support unit sighted an unusual aircraft. This was reported to the relevant authorities for their investigation," police said in a brief statement, avoiding the use of the term 'UFO', or unidentified flying object.

At the time of the incident, the helicopter with three men on board was waiting to land at the St Athan RAF base near Cardiff. The sighting reportedly took place at 00:40 am (23:40 GMT) on June 8.

South Wales Police denied there was a pursuit and indicated that the helicopter crew was never in any danger.

Huge increase in UFO Sightings over Britain|UFo sighting report

A recent article from Telegraph.co.uk reached Digg Popularity in record time by reporting that there was a huge rise in British UFO sightings.

Well, sort of...

I'm always ready to believe. But this time the data just didn't pan out. The well written, interesting, article used data released by the British Ministry of Defence.

I decided to download the data to do my own analysis. I'll be reporting more on the data in the next week, but I'll just start with a graph of the UFO sightings in Great Britain year by year.

As you can see, there's actually been a decrease in sitings since 2005 and a significant decrease compared to 1997.

As additional interesting data comes out, I'll post it here.

(CNSNews.com) - Even though it says it processes Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests on a first-come-first-serve basis, the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library has answered multiple requests related to Unidentified Flying Objects made in late February 2006 but not any of the requests made a month earlier by USA Today. The so-far unanswered FOIA requests focus on issues such as the 1993 health care task force headed by then-first lady Hillary Clinton, the Marc Rich pardon, and the Clinton administration's tracking of Osama bin Laden.

The Clinton library first began accepting FOIA requests on Jan. 20, 2006. Five days later, it received eight requests from USA Today reporter Susan Page. Page told Cybercast News Service Monday that so far the Clinton library has not provided her with any documents in response to any of her requests.

On Feb. 23, more than four weeks after it received the requests from USA Today, the Clinton library received more than 50 FOIA requests from Grant Cameron, who runs PresidentialUFO.com. Cameron's biography says he is "working on a detailed paper detailing the '64 Reasons the Government is Covering Up the ET Presence.'"

Cameron's Web site boasts that he has made about 100 requests to the Clinton library and that so far the library has provided him with responses to 12 of those requests.

The receipt dates for USA Today's and Cameron's FOIA requests are recorded in a chronological log of FOIA requests to the Clinton library provided to Cybercast News Service by the National Archives and Records Administration.

Under the Presidential Records Act, the records in the Clinton library are open to the public, subject to certain exemptions for national security and privacy concerns.Read more

Calling it an "an apparent manipulative extraterrestrial virtual reality illusion" (there's a mouthful), a story in Canada's socialist newspaper, The Canadian, which recently launched as a 'socially progressive and cross-cultural' publication, absurdly published this story about UFO mind control that thumbs its nose at the Harper government for permitting what it called "an inorganic cyborg-like "artificial intelligence" that has sought to use its 'mechanical consciousness' to warp the quality-of-survival instincts of humanity."

The writer of this dribble builds his case around a book written by Dr. John Lash, who bases his claim of extraterrestrial mind control around Gnosticsm, which pre-dates Christianity. Basically, Gnostics were "people who knew", and their knowledge at once constituted them a superior class of beings. Lash attempts to interpret that into meaning extraterrestrials are controlling our minds - as 'those who know and are superior' the writer implies - are little green men from Mars who somehow are manipulating the whole of Canada and its government into thinking the Alberta oil sands' development won't harm what the writer of the National Canada story calls a "forested area, consisting of vibrant ecosystems of trees, streams teeming of fish, and land-bound wildlife like rare birds."Read more

On January 26, 2008 residents from Orange and LA County, Anaheim, and Brea, California were witness to a very unusual but spectacular UFO event. Numerous people watched as an object fell from the night sky and to their amazement it came to a complete stop while in flight. Most folks thought at first they were witnessing a meteor falling to earth until the object stopped and hovered, leaving everyone scratching their heads. While these objects sat and moved around the sky, aircraft were seen and appeared to be checking out these objects. As just about all of the eyewitnesses mentioned to me, they are baffled at no mention in any of the newspapers over the event, or media in general. I must admit, that makes me wonder why not, when so many people witnessed this really unusual event in the night sky.

There ended up being two extremely bright objects that sat stationary for a short time, then moved back and forth as if they were lost. I spoke to a man today on the telephone and he said it was the most bizarre thing he has ever witnessed in his life. The fellow said he lives very close to the John Wayne Airport in Orange County and has witnessed just about every fixed wing aircraft, helicopter and anything else that we would class as normal until January 26, 2008 when his beliefs were shaken. The gentleman told me he got into his vintage Datsun 280Z sport car and at a high rate of speed, he pursued the unknown objects and tried to get a better and longer view, if not a photo on his laptop webcam.

As the man watched, he realized that two of the lights were not like anything he had ever seen, and the light closest to him was what appeared to be an airplane heading toward the two much larger and much brighter objects. The objects were very large and very bright in comparison, a white-ish to yellow-ish orange color, almost flame like, at first, but much brighter and steadier than that. They were oblong shaped from his perspective. They had a definite shape, not mere points of very bright light.

There also appeared to be some sort of aircraft circling in very tight circles, as soon as these objects came to a stop at cloud base. Because of the tightness of the circles, he took it to be a helicopter. This would have made a total of four objects, the two bright steady "orbs", an airplane, and helicopter.

All this transpired in no more than 10-15 seconds. The whole formation seemed to then move in a direction away from his position, toward Los Angeles and got lower in the sky and was obscured by palm trees and buildings which were near him.

Two Other Eyewitnesses

Another couple, a husband and wife were driving west bound at about 6:00pm PST. In the sky was a bright, glowing light falling toward earth with a bright tail of light. Their first thought was, that it was a falling star, but both of them quickly realized it was huge and too close to the earth for that and said to each other, its going to crash. The object stopped falling and appeared to hover, the tail of light extinguished and the main ball of light remained very bright. It faded in and out and then traveled horizontally very quickly. Another glowing light seemed to be circling around it in a wide pattern.

Both were very bright lights, brighter than airplane landing lights and farther away from these two was another light, blue and very small. It seemed to be circling these objects in a very wide pattern and they thought it to be an airplane watching the phenomenon. They didn't pull over and kept driving toward the objects, but, they got lower to the horizon and they lost sight of them behind trees as the road dipped. When the folks got back to an unobstructed spot, the lights were gone. The event lasted about 5-10 minutes. Despite the highly visible, quite spectacular and unusual display in the night sky, not one report of it could be found on news stations or in the OC Register. The couple in discussing it's location, estimated that it was approximately 50 miles away which would make it over LA County, even though they were seeing it from Orange County.

More Witnesses: Sky Over Anaheim, California

A witness was getting ready to enter the 57 Fwy South from Imperial Hwy in Brea, California when he saw what initially appeared to be a falling star. Within seconds from the first sighting, a second flame looking light flew in the same direction as the first. They would stop and a bright light would emerge and then start moving again. Every time they started to move, it looked like a ball/tail of fire. He saw an aircraft that was initially heading north and start to circle the area and that is when the objects vanished. He has never seen anything like this. His wife and kids also saw the same objects. The man stayed up most of the night thinking of what it might have been.
Two Other Eyewitnesses

A guy and his girl friend were going to dinner before their winter formal. They were on their way to Olive Garden when they saw what looked like a comet. It was falling at first and it had a tail, giving him reason to think it was a comet. He jokingly said, oh its a UFO and as he said that it moved back up and hovered for about 30 seconds right next to another identical object. One of the objects disappeared into the clouds while the other was moving from left to right and in flat circular patterns. It did this for about three minutes until it also disappeared into the clouds
Anaheim, California A Family Watched The UFO Event

A man's family were headed east on the 91 freeway at Beach Blvd. when his son noticed bright lights to the north-east, towards Ontario. They all watched for 3-5 minutes as 2-3 bright lights shone brightly and were stationary. Then they fell towards earth with a tail, much like a meteor. The strange thing was the objects that were falling came to a complete stop, then the light would go out, and reappear some seconds later in the same location. The husband was driving and could not focus completely on the event, but his family was in rapt attention. Traffic on the 91 freeway slowed to a crawl, which may be related to everyone watching what the folks were seeing. No mention on the news or anywhere.

Brea, California Another Eyewitness To The Strange California UFO Sighting

A lady was on her way to the HAT in Brea to pick up some food for her family. She saw the lights in the sky and at first thought it was meteoroid rocks falling, until they started actually going back and forth. She thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. She then saw one of the lights disappear and then the other, within a few seconds they both reappeared. She had called her boyfriend at 5:50 p.m.and told him what she had witnessed, he didn't believe it. The lady really thought she was seeing things and when she pulled into the HAT parking lot she saw all these other cars parked and people staring into the sky. The objects seem to keep falling down and she had noticed what seemed to be a plane circling around them. The lady doesn't know what it was, but it kind of freaked her out.

Brea, California Another Witness Reports Seeing Falling UFO - Hovering

Another witness was heading west on Orangethorpe Ave when he looked out the window and noticed a bright light with a tail falling from the sky. Thinking it was a falling star the witness looked away expecting it to be gone, but to his surprise the glowing light was floating, sitting in one spot. As he continued driving the witness kept shifting his focus to the object and watched it move very quickly horizontally about 3 to 4 times, each time leaving a tail of bright light behind. Then the light turned off for about 10 to 15 seconds and then turned back on, and started moving back and forth 2 more times. He then lost sight of the object when his view became obstructed for about a minute or so. The date was Saturday the 26 of January at approximately 6:00 p.m. He believes the whole event lasted about 7 minutes.

Brea, California Two More Witnesses To Strange UFO/Glowing Light

A witnesses and their son had just left the Brea Mall on Saturday 1/26/08. They went across the street to the Hat for dinner right before 6:00 pm. As they were turning into the parking lot facing south, they saw a line of fire across the sky. There was a small plane in the sky and at first they thought the plane was on fire. The plane continued on, and then the light looked like 2 falling flames. These then became two bright balls that were hovering in the sky. It appeared as if one of them had a tail of flames behind it. One ball disappeared and then the other appeared to start falling but disappeared from their sight. There were at least 8 people in the parking lot looking too. The son took a picture on his cell phone, but it basically looks like a glowing ball in the sky. It was a strange experience!

Are we Alone?UFO Encounters revealed

Is there intelligent life beyond our planet? It’s a question a lot of people have been asking in the wake of a highly publicized UFO sighting earlier this month in Stephenville, Texas.

It doesn’t get much more down to earth than the Houston suburb of Spring.

Sure, you can walk on the moon for a price, but you’d never expect to meet the man you’re about to meet.

They call me the alien hunter,” Derrel Sims said. “The reason is because I hunt them that hunted me.”

From the time he was 3 to the age of 17, Sims said he was abducted by aliens on numerous occasions the last time culminating with a surgical implant.

“It was extremely painful,” he said. “It broke the bones in my nasal passage when it was jammed in.”

But he said it wasn’t until the same thing started happening to his own son years later that he became the alien hunter.

“You come after my children, and I’ll come after you with a vengeance,’ he said. Since then, he has crisscrossed the globe investigating so called abductions.

“One of my abductees took a picture of the craft she thought took her,” Sims said.

And collected evidence.

“We think it housed a biological camera that was lodged in a woman’s retina,” Sims said. “These are the little gold spheres taken out of an abductee’s nose.”

Sometimes, he said, with the help of Houston doctors.

“I work with some people at M.D. Anderson and MHMR and other places,” he said. “They will never come forward. … Because they don’t want to lose their careers.”

Such is the fearful climate, he said, fostered by government conspiracy.

“Stephenville is a good example where they say, ‘oh yeah, our airplanes were up there flying, and they were refueling,’” he said. “Hey, I was born at night, but it wasn’t last night.”

Stephenville, Texas and Erath County got worldwide attention earlier this month after multiple sightings of a UFO.

The Air Force later claimed it was F-16s flying in the area.

“The odds are pretty fair that’s not the case,” aerospace industry consultant Jay Miller said. “I can’t imagine 10 F-16s were in the air from same air base at the same time.”

There’s also the matter of the people who reported the sightings: decent, salt of the earth people like Constable Leroy Gaitlin, mesmerized by the object’s flashing lights.

“They were dancing around and they were flickering, but they weren’t just doing this,” he said. “They were like, just moving.”

Or Steve Allen, a Stephenville businessman and private pilot.

“I’d say it was about a half-mile wide and about a mile long,” he said. “It was humongous, whatever it was.”

“Since mother ships never come this close to earth and show themselves to us at all, the fact that it wasn’t invisible or cloaked means I think they want us to get used to the idea that yes they are here,” Houston UFO Club President Gail Brittain said.

“They” may want us to get used to the idea, she said, but not the government.

“Of course. They won’t let their men talk,” she said.

She and other believers point to purportedly top secret videos from NASA missions posted on the Internet.

“I’ve been a working scientist in this agency for 38 years,” Dr. Everett Gibson said. “I have never seen scientific evidence withheld from the public.”

Dr. Gibson started working for NASA on the day Apollo 11 splashed down. An astro biologist, he was a lead investigator of samples collected from the moon and more recently co-led a team that concluded there was once life on Mars after analyzing a meteorite from the red planet. The conclusion that turned the scientific world on its ear and continues to be debated.

“It’s a detective story,” he said. “I’m basically CSI — the ultimate.”

Dr. Gibson’s thoughts on the Stephenville sightings?

“Those are good folks who live in Erath County,” he said. “They had something that happened there, and they’re reporting it. I think we have to keep an open mind.”

Although he said it’s unlikely extra-terrestrials were involved. For now, Brittain will simply have to agree to disagree. Her beliefs, thank you kindly, still very much in tact.

The city of Chilpancingo (state of Guerrero's) La Cronica Vespertina newspaper reported the sighting of an unknown light that landed at Cerro Pie de Minas, emitting flashes for over 30 hours and causing alarm among the locals.
The event took place in the early morning hours of December 31, 2007 in the town of Mezcala, Guerrero. According to the news report from journalist Francisco Rangel, dated January 10, 2008, the phenomenon was observed by the entire town, cutting across all ages ranging from children to senior citizens and including mining engineers and laborers at the Los Filos gold mine.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that drivers halted their vehicles all the way to the Federal Highway in order to take a look at the intense light source that traveled across various parts of the locality at an estimated altitude of 300 meters. They describe a saucer-shaped craft that passed over the town square slowly and silently before landing on a hill known as Pie de Minas, where it emitted flashes for over 30 hours.
According to the newspaper story, witnesses to the phenomenon complained of eye irritation despite the fact that they saw it at a considerable distance. Not only that, but there is also talk of fluctuations in the level of electric power in spite of the fact that no voltage changes were detected at the electric substation belonging to the Comision Federal de Electricidad.
Many people took photos and videos with their cameras and cellphones, but their recordings were affected and distorted by an alleged magnetic force. They added that even the pictures taken with analog cameras were overexposed.
According to the newspaper article: "The object was seen by most of the population, ranging from small children to the elderly and entire families, seen at considerable distances by the luminosity that affected the eyes of many residents and the fact that the electric levels of all the homes dropped whenever the light's intensity increased, ranging from a soft shade of light blue to a white and phosphorescent blue, acquiring yellow, orange and soft red tones...."
Many video recordings exist in spite of this, taken by people who managed to record it from their homes at a distance of 4 or 6 kilometers away. The footage shows a round light, whether white or light blue, with strange figures at its core that were described-- by those who peered at the object through binoculars as something resembling a cat or a being with horns, causing the greatest degree of fear among the locals, rendering them unable to sleep for the two following nights. The sighting was not made known beyond the confines of the town until the first days of this week, although reports of alleged meteorite activity had been received from Amojileca and Xochipala on January 1st. Residents of Mezcala say that the inclement weather strong, cold winds could have been caused by the luminous UFO which appeared to have landed on the hill known as Pie de Mina in the wilderness known as "La V", from where it was filmed by many locals with their diminutive Handycams and who were clearly afraid that something awful would happen, or that the vehicle's crew would harm them.
Alfonso Ramirez Maya, 35, a farmer and board-layer, had a chance to film the UFO with his video camera and his daughter's cell phone. He showed us the images taken, and those in which the light can be seen moving, but with deformations of the images on the cellphone. The white light resembles a balloon that changes shape, despite their best efforts at remaining steady. The images were obtained from their house on Calle Francisco Villa n/n, Colonia Cabeza de Culebra, 5 km from the sighting one kilometer distant from the Mexico City Acapulco Federal Highway that passes through Mezcala.
Another person who had the opportunity to record a video was Jesus Santana Hernandez, who filmed the UFO as it flew over the community, but sent the video to Houston so that a relative could make it known through a local TV station, since some thought they could profit from selling the images. However, the majority of the locals who have the evidence are hesitant to disclose it, as they do not wish to earn themselves a poor reputation or be dismissed as lunatics.
However, they are all willing to discuss the experience after being told that an effort is underway to document the sighting, and even willing to accompany a research group to the site, as it is a rugged terrain filled with rattlesnakes and scorpions. Many of the people interviewed, among whom were serious individuals of all ages, youths and even children, offered interpretations of the story that agreed with one another's regarding the sighting of the light on the hill and its transit over the community of Mezcala, further agreeing with the fear and consternation they experienced for the 30-hour span in which the "flying saucer" was present.
Many residents of this community stated that there were several occasions in which some people tried to reach the place where the UFO touched down. In the night and evening of January first, when up to 20 or 30 pickup trucks laden with people tried to reach the sight were the light could be seen, the light simply went dark. There exists, however, the report of a group that came within fifty meters of the vessel described as a flying saucer, whose color was similar to that of brilliant, galvanized sheet metal, with a whitish or light blue light. These people brought with them video and still cameras, but their vehicles were left without power, with no electricity and stalled engines. Furthermore, camera batteries were inexplicably drained despite having been charged, and returned to normal operating conditions later on.
Bold youths who dared approach the UFO clearly heard two dry, metallic sounds emerging from the interior of the alleged craft. This spooked them into hiding under their pickup trucks and even made them weep like children, as they believed the occupants would emerge to seize them. This fear prompted them to flee the site as best they could, and they refuse to talk about it.
Closer images were obtained from videos taken from the slopes of Pie de Mina one kilometer distant where the object can be seen as larger, resembling a large white circle of encapsulated light. Symbols can be made out, and even the shape of a face drawn on a card by another witness, having the shape of a feline or a horned being that appears to be at the center of the light.

To many businessmen in downtown Mezcala, and food vendors who witnessed the phenomenon from the early hours of December 31, also saw the gathering of people who had set out to see the UFO phenomenon and who offered their versions about what it could be. There were many who recorded videos or took photos, but after the novelty wore off, they became disaffected after making the trip in groups of pickup trucks accompanied by two local sheriffs without finding anything. To calm the populace down, they said [the sighting ] had been caused by the clash of high voltage wires that entwined in the strong wind.The owner of a budget store says that sales declined because people became frightened, and that Mezcala looked "like a ghost town" as many of its residents fled out of fear, believing that harm would befall them because the vehicle remained on the hillside, emitting powerful flashes skyward even in broad daylight. There are even those who say that another light above appeared to blink, as if communicating the one below. This made them fear the worst, and contributed to restless sleep for two nights.There is much more evidence of the extraordinary event, known as a Close Encounter of the 2nd Kind (CE-2), a variety of eyewitness accounts from an entire community stricken with terror by the tremendous light that lit all of the nearby hills, and even caused the city's own electric lights to dwindle, all of this amid strong winds and the cold nights of early 2008.In order to reach the landing site of the luminous UFO, it is necessary to walk for several hours or reach the site on all- terrain vehicles, since there could be evidence of some sort to be found where the UFO remained for 30 hours, all the while flashing its lights. It should be noted that the area has various mineral and metal deposits, such as uranium, cobalt, gold, silver and copper. [...] A more thorough investigation of what appears to be a genuine UFO case must be performed, verifying if there were any traces left behind at Pie de Minas hill, in the "La V" wilderness of the community of Mezcala, Municipality of Zumpango del Rio, state of Guerrero. Two police officers, Luis Bracamonte, and Osvaldo Orellano, were patrolling Near Irene, Buenos Aires on 7 December 2007, in their trucks near the Felipe Fernandez ranch. This is a rural area. At one point they stopped the truck while Orellano exited the vehicle and walked around the area while Bracamonte remained inside the vehicle re-charging his telephone card with his mobile phone.

While looking at his phone Mr. Bracamonte notices a small light at about 1:30 AM, which was approaching their location at fairly high speed. Suddenly the light became much larger and brighter, now resembling a large “grey truck”.

At the same time Mr. Bracamonte sees a small figure which at first he thought was a dog, but as he looked more carefully he realized it was a small humanoid figure about 80 cm in height, with a large head, large grey prominent eyes, and greenish in colour. He then tried to dial Mr. Orellano’s cell number, who was patrolling nearby, but all he could get in the receiver was static. He then sees three more humanoid beings exiting the large greyish luminous “vehicle”.

Two were similar to the first one he saw while the third was larger and more robust. At the same time he heard Mr. Orellano which was apparently watching the same spectacle, yelling in panic.

Immediately the four humanoids ran back into the object which took off and quickly disappeared towards the north, leaving behind a white glow which disappeared leaving behind a green glowing mist and strong sulphur like odour. As the craft left it emitted a thunder-clap type sound.

Two other police officers, Santiago Walter and Walter Carbajal who were patrolling that same night near the village of Nicolas Descalzi watched a large white light suddenly approach and engulf their vehicle. The engine stopped and their cell phones would not work. Looking up they then both saw a powerful white light which briefly hovered and then disappeared in a flash.

Around the same time several residents from the village of Oriente watched a strange glow in the sky in the direction of Irene. And a husband and wife traveling towards Marisol were approached by a white light from behind which also engulfed their vehicle.

Brian Wright of Albany saw a circular, bright light in the eastern sky about a year ago, and he's wondered about it ever since.
He said he called the military and cable news organizations right after he saw the object, but no one seemed to be interested, and he couldn't find anyone else who had seen it. Then with recent reports of UFOs spotted elsewhere in the country, he contacted the Democrat-Herald.

Wright, 30, a stay-at-home dad who attended both South and West Albany high schools, said he'd shot a video and wanted us to view it and run a photograph of the thing in the newspaper.

He said it happened about 10 p.m. Feb. 5, 2007, and he and a friend, Joal Traynor, were talking outside of Wright's townhouse on Queen Avenue near Hill Street.

"Out of the blue, something came up out of the eastern sky toward Lebanon," he said. "It was a bright light that looked like fire."

When it moved toward Albany, Wright dashed into his apartment to get his camcorder so he could record the event. The video is jerky, as Wright said he was trying to find the object through his lens and then had trouble focusing because it was moving so fast.

Just as quickly as it appeared in the sky, the object made a sharp turn toward the southeast and disappeared, he said.

"I know it wasn't a plane, a helicopter or a hot air balloon. That was obvious," he said. "It also wasn't a flare or a shooting star because it left no trail."

Wright said he called the Albany police but was told no one else had reported seeing anything unusual in the sky.

"My friends are skeptical even though they've seen the picture, but they can't explain what it is," he said.

Wright's father, Brian Wright Sr., is visiting from California and has a more open mind.

"I believe there are other things out there," he said.

Brian Wright would like to hear from anyone who has an idea about what he saw.

At least three pilots in Stephenville disagree with the military’s press release issued Wednesday.

Steve Allen, Don “Doc” Stewart and Todd Downs all say if Stephenville and the Selden area are in the Brownwood Military Operating Area, it’s news to them.

A press release issued by Major Karl Lewis of the 301st Fighter Wing Public Affairs at the NAS Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, stated, “Ten F-16s from the 457th Fighter Squadron were performing training operations from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday January 8, 2008 in the Brownwood Military Operating Area (MOA), which includes the air space above Erath County.”

All three pilots say that space does not include all of Erath County. It only includes a small portion of Dublin and does not include Stephenville or the Selden area at all.

“Stephenville is 11 miles from the MOA,” Stewart said, as he pointed out the area on an aeronautical sectional map.

Downs, who is an employee at Clark Field in Stephenville, said there is a GPS fixed point located on the airport grounds that the military uses and while it’s not unusual for the jets to be in the area, he believes the press release leads people to believe that all of Erath County air space is included in the MOA and that’s incorrect. He said jets fly through on the way to the MOA.

Downs said he does not understand why the military would issue such a release two weeks after repeatedly denying the base had any planes in the area.

“I don’t understand why they would do that at all,” Downs said. “They’re not hard to know that they are there. It doesn’t make sense. I’ve seen them come by me before. They are real loud and it’s not hard to know that they are there.”

Ken Cherry, state director of Mutual UFO Network, said he thinks the military “came clean for several reasons.”

Allen and friends reported early on that F-16s were “chasing” the mysterious lights when they saw them for the second time at Selden on the evening of Jan. 8.

“We have filed freedom of information acts and that may have prompted them to make the statement,” Cherry said. “This only proves our witnesses are more reliable than the Air Force.”

Another witness, Leroy Gaitan said what he saw that night could not have been jets.

“There’s no way F-16s can maneuver like that,” Gaitan said. “I really think it’s some kind of military project or experiment. Too many people have seen things.

“I have spoken to at least one person (witness) the military has contacted,” Gaitan said.

On Thursday evening’s Larry King Live episode, James Fox, documentary filmmaker, seemed to confirm Gaitan’s information with his statement. Fox said when visiting Stephenville he spoke to one man “who, unfortunately, was not willing to go on the record,” and who claimed he was being harassed by the military.

Allen has said videos and photos are pouring in from everywhere and Cherry said his organization is analyzing many of them.

“We’ve seen a lot of pictures but they have been lens flares or odd cloud formations,” Cherry said.

When asked about the recent footage in Allen’s possession aired by Channel 11 News he said, “The video is interesting and merits further analysis. All others have been eliminated that have come to us so far.”

Steve Hudgeons, senior field investigator with MUFON, met with Allen Saturday to view the entire 14-minute video captured by a person not wishing to be identified.

Allen said a Japanese source is interested in purchasing the video.

UFO Orbs and Chemtrails - Strange Skies

I stumbled across a website, Strange Skies, with some interesting photos, yet another case of these orbs being photographed although the focus of this site is chemtrails. I'm not really sure where I stand on the whole chemtrails thing; just about every photograph I've seen look like the same contrails I've been seeing for the last 40 years.

But the orbs, that's something I've now photographed on three separate occasions as well as having been in contact with several other people. They are photographed by people all over the world and even show up in Google satellite imagery.

This Strange Skies site draws connections between these orbs and chemtrails, but other than the fact that they both occupy the sky I'm not personally convinced that any direct connection exists. I don't know enough about the orbs to know a connection doesn't exist; I just don't find the evidence on this site convincing.

A connection may exist between UFO abductions and these orbs. The abductions essentially stopped at the same time the orbs became common place. Perhaps these orbs are interfering with the entities responsible for the abductions, or perhaps they are the next phase in some agenda. Whatever they are, they're wide spread and became noticeable just as the abduction phenomena came to a grinding halt.

At any rate; here are a few of the orb photos from the Strange Skies:

These are remarkably similar to objects that I have photographed in the skies just north of Seattle, Washington.

These also are remarkably similarly to photographs taken by people I've corresponded with in Surrey, BC, Canada, and Portland, Oregon. The first of these I photographed in Summer of 2006, which coincidentally is the last date I can find of any credible UFO abduction report.

Mexico: UFO Reported in the Huasteca Region

According to a news article by reporter Dario Almazan, three technicians witnessed the descent of a UFO in the hills of Tepemiche in the early hours of Friday, January 25. The witnesses are Esau Zuniga, Omar Jair Zavala and Efrain Martinez.

They said that attended a party in Tanquian de Escobedo and upon their return to San Martin in a pickup truck, the saw a very bright light that crossed the heavens at high speed.

"It was a large object with a powerful light. We first thought it was a shooting star, but halted over the hills of Tepemiche, where we saw it descend," explained Esau Zuniga.

He added that all three shouted in unison that it was a UFO and approached the site along a breach in the ground. When they came to within 300 meters of it, they clealry saw that it was a rather large object.

"We saw a very strange flying artifact. As we got closer, we could see it was round, like a highly polished metal ball, with three potent lights in its lower section. It was still suspended only a few meters over the ground, very still. Some small porthole-like openings could be seen in the upper section, emitting light," he added.

He explained that no engine sounds could be heard. It was suspended in the air and turned its lights on and off intermittently. It suddenly took off at an impressive speed toward the Gulf of Mexico.

He added that this was the first time that he and his friends saw a UFO. They allegedly shouted: "We're friendly, take us with you!". Esau even managed to take photos of it with his cell phone, in which the object can be seen.

"Look, UFOs are real. The three of us here have seen one, so we have no question about it," the interviewee concluded.

WASHINGTON — Put the alien theories on hold and get the men in black a cup of coffee. You know how they like it.

Instead of beings from outer space visiting Big Country skies, the Air Force could be secretly working out the kinks in the next U-2 spy plane or B-2 stealth bomber in the skies over the Big Country.

U.S. military pilots might have been at the helm of Unidentified Flying Objects decked out with secret technology, accounting for reports from Erath, Brown and Comanche counties the past two months.

After all, the military possesses experimental technologies the public might not know about until decades after development.

“For national security reasons, of course, they’re disinclined to tell us about it,” Michael Shermer, executive director of the Skeptics Society and editor of Skeptic magazine, said.

Besides Shermer, an author of more than 20 books on secret and stealth technology, a think-tank expert and a former “Skunk Works” chief weighed in.

Among the possibilities: The government is conducting a campaign of disinformation, spreading UFO stories to cover up the truth, which is out there.

Or eyewitnesses surprised by fast-moving spheres and a gigantic “mother ship” simply saw jets from a nearby military base.

That includes the UFO sighting Jan. 8 around Stephenville, Texas, the day the Air Force said it had jets on a training mission in the area.

Either way, Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, isn’t involved in black — classified — aircraft programs.

“We strictly deal with B-1s and C-130s here,” 1st Lt. William Powell, Dyess spokesman, said. “If it didn’t come from this base, which it didn’t, then I wouldn’t know what kind of aircraft was flying in that area on that date.”

John Pike, a defense and intelligence expert, said he believes the government has thrown up a smokescreen before, like with Area 51 in Nevada, to discredit witnesses.

“If they get people seeing lights all the time, and they don’t know what it is, one way of making the whole thing seem silly is to have people recall flying saucers,” Pike, director of GlobalSecurity.org, said. “And that way the whole story just kind of goes away.”

Area 51 has played a role in modern American mythology about everything from secret military technologies to alien spacecraft. Beliefs vary as to the truth about the southern Nevada location.

Back in the 1950s, the Air Force exploited the UFO scenario to divert attention from the U-2 being tested at a secret base in Nevada, said Bill Sweetman, who’s written extensively on stealth and black technology.

The U-2 was the only aircraft that could fly at such a high altitude for as long as it could, Sweetman, editor of Defense Technology International magazine, said.

“Airline pilots who didn’t know that a secret airplane was out there would see this object way up above them, and they would report it as a UFO,” he said.

Those sightings led to “Project Bluebook,” efforts to make people think they’d seen a natural phenomenon or something unexplainable — not a secret airplane, Sweetman said.

He didn’t want to hazard a guess about whether West Texans have spotted secret aircraft, but he was doubtful.

“Why would you fly it near a populated area at all?” he said.

And it’s impossible to speculate whether the Big Country UFOs were a sign of a secret program, said retired Air Force Col. Tom Ehrhardt, a former Pentagon chief of the “Skunk Works” or the Strategy, Concepts and Doctrine Division.

“That particular location for it seems improbable because, usually, we have more secure sites to do that sort of thing in than there,” said Ehrhardt, now of the nonprofit Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments in Washington.

Sites such as Area 51, he said.

“But you never want to say this isn’t one of those because I don’t have that knowledge,” Ehrhardt said.

Theories to the contrary, the UFO story hasn’t gone away yet.

“Our initial analysis is that we have at least two very promising pieces of evidence,” Ken Cherry, state director for the nonprofit Mutual UFO Network, said.

Video and still images show spheres in incredible maneuvers at high speed in the Big Country, Cherry said. Others have told MUFON of “a mother ship” a mile long and a half mile wide.

Eyewitnesses are ranchers, farmers, oilfield workers, shop owners, defense workers and others who talk of activity as far back as 30 years ago in the area, he said.

But could fast-moving spheres simply be the afterburners of 10 F-16s?

In an about face, the military said 10 F-16s from the 301st Fighter Wing at Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base were on a training mission Jan. 8 in an area including Erath County.

Maj. Karl Lewis, a fighter wing spokesman, said it was just a mistake when he first told reporters the base had no planes in the sky that day.

“I did my best to correct it as soon as possible,” Lewis said
