Tufani Mayfield, in his blog The Me Decor Cybrary, is renewing the art scope of painters who use blogs to present his aestethic to a great audience. His blog is fresh, somehow strange, but clearly revolutionary for the common taste of artists blogs.

From the beginning is the name: The Me Decor Cybrary. What? Let Tufani explain this matter:

ME.
In Sumerian mythology, a me is one of the decrees of the gods foundational to those social institutions, religious practices, technologies, behaviors, mores, and human conditions that make civilization, as the Sumerians understood it, possible. They are fundamental to the Sumerian understanding of the relationship between humanity and the gods.

And the Cybrary, a neologism explained by artist:

CYBRARY.
The term cybrary combines the words "cyberspace" (AKA the Internet) and "library". We present art, designs and cultural information to the public with the intention of triggering a sort of "quantum inspiration" for people.

Referring to the blog, its very well distributed, altough some problems could be arise if you get it in notebook, as is my case. Some font colors are difficult to read. But the blog is very complete, fresh and elaborated at the same time.

It seems to me that this blog has a good audience in people interested in a new artist that is able to promote his artwork with intelligence and good aestethic sense.

" The fact is that the arts foster innovation. We've just published a study that shows that almost all Nobel laureates in the sciences actively engage in arts as adults. They are twenty-five times as likely as the average scientist to sing, dance, or act; seventeen times as likely to be a visual artist; twelve times more likely to write poetry and literature; eight times more likely to do woodworking or some other craft; four times as likely to be a musician; and twice as likely to be a photographer. Many connect their art to their scientific ability with some riff on Nobel prizewinning physicist Max Planck words: "The creative scientist needs an artistic imagination."

Bottom line: Successful scientists and inventors are artistic people. Hobble the arts and you hobble innovation. It's a lesson our legislators need to learn. Uriel is a fiery archangel that was first introduced to me through Doreen Virtue's angel card oracle.

Assertiveness is a keyword that comes to mind when I hold Uriel in my awareness. As a naturally shy person I have learned to work with Uriel to overcome my inner blockages which have included self-criticism, self-doubt, and timidness.

This piece celebrates of the angelic alchemy of Heru. The original seed drawing is a man wearing a loincloth and Egyptian-style collar. The figure stands in relaxed position with his attention focused upward.

During his first incarnation, this art piece was entitled "Man in Golden Flames".
Dominant colors were red and white with accents of gold surrounding the figure.

About six years later the transmutation occurred and "Man in Golden Flames" became "Christ Michael".

During his final stages of (re)creation, angelic wings and a crown were bestowed and multiple layers of "Golden Aura" applied. "Golden Aura" is the name of a new paint mixture we created from combinations of iridescent gold and flourescent orange acrylic plus one secret ingredient. Ballpoint pen strokes articulate the figure's brilliant new form.

The Ra Materials Collection is a strong example of my belief that the ART is what is the most important element of art appreciation.
{NOT frames. NOT people pleasing, ass kissing, wine sipping, competing and politicking.} <-- These sociopolitical acrobatics are entertaining to an extent (and quite expensive too). However in a world where "artists are a dime a dozen", and most artists are "starving" "crazy" or "blocked", the people in that world are obviously due for an upgrade in values.

The second most important element in art appreciation, is APPRECIATION. Such appreciation may take the form of paying artists money, or trading provisions (quality food, water, clothing, shelter, transportation and art-making materials) with artists in exchange for the art, the time, the life force they each invest to create and explain their work. Period.

My gratitude to all who have and continue to show substantial appreciation for art and our work! You know who you are.

I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil. In the fourth Grade my teacher Ms. Daniels invited me to draw large dragons on the chalk board. My parents bought a set of Encyclopedia Britannica and I kept it in my bedroom, using it to look up whatever I chose to learn more about. My interests included animals and other natural phenomena. I naturally developed interests in spiritualism, gemstone lore and the occult by age eleven. Lucid dreaming, self hypnosis and astral projection were some of my passions of puberty. At age sixteen, I chose to create art "to glorify God", as suggested by my martial arts instructor. Specializing in "spiritual art" has been financially unrewarding and at times frustrating, however I'm glad I did choose this path. It makes being an artist alot more than what the public or I could ever imagine it to be. Its being true to myself first and foremost before anyone else comes into the picture. Authenticity is important to me. And so is my sovereignty. I know I have alot to offer society, and I make offerings consistently and dedicate myself to creating the best work I can. So even if I'm "busted broke" I am wealthy nevertheless. Regardless of what others believe. Like me or not, my work is genuine and authentic. Like me.

My work is inspired by alchemy (AKA "The Art"), Christology, cosmology, spiritual culture and metaphysics.

My techniques involve graphic design, drawing, painting, collage and new media.

My style of expressions is best described as "syncretic".

"Syncretism consists of the attempt to reconcile disparate or contrary beliefs, often while melding practices of various schools of thought. The term may refer to attempts to merge and analogise several originally discrete traditions, especially in the theology and mythology of religion, and thus assert an UNDERLYING UNITY allowing for an INCLUSIVE approach to other faiths.

Overt syncretism in folk belief may show cultural acceptance of an alien or previous tradition, but the "other" cult may survive or infiltrate without authorized syncresis nevertheless. For example, some Conversos developed a sort of cult for martyr-victims of the Spanish Inquisition, thus incorporating elements of Catholicism while resisting it.

Some religious movements have embraced overt syncretism, such as the case of the adoption of Shintō elements into Buddhism. Others have strongly rejected it as devaluing precious and genuine distinctions; examples of this include post-Exile Judaism and Islam.

Syncretism tends to facilitate coexistence and constructive interaction between different cultures (intercultural competence), a factor that has recommended it to rulers of multi-ethnic realms."

"A few years ago, a synthesis of Native American and Asian imagery occurred to me. I produced a series of art pieces with figures that are reminiscent of kachina. Earth Mother AKA Geisha Gaia is one of those pieces. The San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center bought "Earth Mother" in 2007(?). For some time I had not known the exact tribal origin of the imagery that inspired the creation of my "Royal Family" art collection. Today I received confirmation. I was inspired to research the Zuni indians after studying a combination of my natal astrology and sabian symbols. A mysterious connection with Shumei International Institute's Crestone temple kept me scratching my head thru most of my time living in Crestone, CO. Its a cultural mystery that is coming together now, and hopefully my life along with it. My inner pilgrimage continues with beauty."

Butterflies and Moths in Contemporary Zuni Art

This temporary exhibit highlights the role of butterflies in the belief system and art of contemporary Zuni people, Native Americans who live in the high desert of the American southwest. Many Zuni traditional arts feature butterflies and moths, and this tradition continues today in their fine arts, crafts and tourist art forms. The objects in this exhibit are from the collection of Gary Noel Ross, a lepidopterist and ethnobiologist with a lifelong interest in indigenous cultures.

One man who is possibly in a trance has braids and a hair pipe breast plate, and dances apart from the others. Men and women wear woven blankets, buckskin pants or dresses and moccasins.

What seems ot be implied in this symbol, considering its position in the entire cycle, is that under present-day conditions the individual person needs protection against the ever-growing encroachments of society upon his theoretically recognized right to lead a private life free from public interference. At a deeper occult level of interpretation it also reveals the need to protect oneself against "astral" intrusions and perhaps "black magic," the more so as one ventures into supernormal states of consciousness.
