Nakakaawa yung mga food vendors sa Agno kasi they're trying to make a decent living pero pinipigilan sila na gawin yun. Sa lahat ng mga concerned na katulad ko na sa Agno lang umaasa dahil tight ang budget, kumilos po tayo at maki-isa. Boycottin natin ang mga E.G.I restaurants, baka habang buhay nang mawala ang Agno.

SPREAD THE WORD DLSU PEEPS. What I don't appreciate how he keeps on appealing to emotion and popularity. Self-references as a mere "probinsyanong intsik." Engaging in an interview on national television dressed in an undergarment then
calling attention to ho w meekly he is dressed compared to the uniformed people with whom he is engaged in a debate. Declaring statements inflamed with self-importance, like "I didn't know my coming out to tell the truth will save the country's soul." Doing rounds, making appearances, delivering speeches, and quoting Jose Rizal in interviews and opportunely referring to the national hero as his idol.

I am tempted to call them stunts, but I don't want to be unfair to Mr.Lozada. Having said that, it's hard to not suspect him of consciously doing these things with the intention to efface himself. In an instant, Mr. Lozada morphed from a sniveling witness to a master
showman wielding humor and self-deprecating comments to capitalize on public sentiment anxious for change. In my eyes, that's what spells the difference between genuine and false humility.

This is where Clarissa Ocampo comes in.

Miss Ocampo came out as a witness because she was privy to something important. She simply had something to say, so she came forth, said it, and left the people to weigh her revelations on their own. And that was it. Clarissa Ocampo wasn't all over the place campaigning for public support like Lozada does nowadays. I seem to remember her
indulging requests for appearances but not in a manner that sought recognition as a hero or a savior. Not the way Lozada strikes me. His actions reek of an agenda to hoist himself onto a moral pedestal to earn credibility for his testimonies.

Don't get me wrong. I believe in what Lozada says. I believe that the ZTE deal was anomalous, that Abalos was out to protect his PhP130M commission, that his escort out of the NAIA airport was an attempt to keep him out of the Senate's reach (though I wouldn't really join in calling it "kidnapping" ). I believe in the value of Lozada's testimony and how crucial it is in ridding our country of this culture of corruption.

Even so, I believe a careful scrutiny of the messenger is still in order. No, I am not out to shoot Lozada, but neither will I blindly follow the call of Lozada, Joey de Venecia and those from the opposition whose motives are unclear and possibly mixed with selfish
ones. Greed, as generally recognized, is the root of corruption. This is why a whiff of greed evokes extraordinary discretion on my part, enough to keep me in the sidelines, far from the hysteria in Binay's front yard.

What I advocate is a fair assessment of the veracity of thesewitnesses' revelations, and a resort to the appropriate legal action that conforms to the rule of law. Yes, people power has been ensconced in the constitution, but so were other legal remedies such as "impeachment. " The political minority and other interest groups lobby for a street protest saying that the administration control of the congress makes it impossible for the a proper resolution of this controversy. So when will an impeachment, as provided in the
constitution, be the proper recourse? When it's convenient for them? Perhaps what they really want is for work to be cut out for them.

I continue to believe in the spirit of EDSA Dos and am grateful that it resulted in the ouster of former President Jos eph Estrada. And yes, I believe that President Gloria Arroyo is much better president than he was, though she's obviously far from perfect. But like before, I still would've preferred the impeachment proceeding to an extrajudicial ouster of Estrada. I welcome the windfall of our mass protest in 2001 but admit that it was essentially a shortcut. That we allowed it then, I believe, is what drives certain politicians now to clamor for a wrest of power from the present government.

It's not simply about lack of an alternative to a present evil, but a refusal to be manipulated by another one. I was already made i nto a pawn when I participated in EDSA Dos. I'm
not falling for that again. Fool me twice, shame on me. It would take much more than people with shady credentials and blatant agenda to coax me into heeding a call that could ultimately sweep someone else less deserving and more deleterious into power.

Thank you, Mr. Lozada, for telling us what you know. You have definitely earned your place in history. But can you please stop with the antics now?

arubatohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00525836297619268004noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6837539087654930285.post-62666047249908937732007-12-02T09:40:00.000+08:002007-12-02T09:44:49.333+08:00... moved to frenchboi.wordpress.com

arubatohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00525836297619268004noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6837539087654930285.post-39988557661464093672007-11-18T00:53:00.000+08:002007-11-18T00:55:09.663+08:00Kenny's Fresh Sandwiches

Cold chunky tuna. DJ Benjamin Bates has laid down the beats for the 2007 campaign and we’ll use this track for our Warmup – it’s a super-simple combination featuring a jazzy Box Step.

The Isolations Track is gangster with a capital ‘G’. Add FLAVA with the Snap and get down with your bad-selves to You Know What It Is by T.I. feat. Wyclef, before you Wind It Up to Daddy Yankee in the Reggaeton Track.

Then get ready to break out your best John Travolta moves in the brand new Disco cardio block!

Classic Disco sounds from Chaka Khan get you in the mood for grooving, before breaking out the Boogaloo in everyone’s favorite karaoke tune No More Tears by Kym Mazelle and Jocelyn Brown. The Freemasons’ Nothing But A Heartache finishes off the set with a stomping Disco sound, in keeping with the groovalicious theme.

Recover to the super-cool b.u.d.d.y, before entering the New School House phase of the class which features some amazing tracks from Rihanna and a TV Rock remix of The Others. These tracks are gonna take the class on a dance revolution and by the end of this phase you’ll want to break out the Conga!

Prepare yourself for Popping – the all-new dance style in the final block. Popping is like grabbing and releasing all of the muscles in your upper body, and the Timbaland track really inspires you to get your pop on.

The class finishes with the classic funk sounds of Stevie Wonder – a Groove Down that will sign, seal and deliver BODYJAM™ 43.

arubatohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00525836297619268004noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6837539087654930285.post-67738601976972035872007-09-16T11:27:00.000+08:002007-09-16T12:00:57.158+08:00Next Project: Beyoncé

Yes friends. Jammers all over the world will love the simplified choreography while still retaining that amazing high that comes with the sensation of dance.

The warm up starts with a super simple Club feel to clear the dance floor and drop into the feel of Jam. The isolation track is the bangin' new Tambourine from Eve and, as always, it's designed to help you dance better later in the class. The song is massive so careful not to BREAKOUT from the start!

Hook into a hypnotic Cha Cha Cha rhythm with classic Latin steps we drill over and over for success. Then J-Lo kicks and your technique tightens to accentuate the Latin furore.

The Heel Lift to Rihanna's Umbrella could possibly be the coolest move we've ever done in BODYJAM - the moves sync with the beat harmoniously. Then we "Throw Away" the arms to the same accent in the music, like you're throwing party dust on the crowd!

Then throw your load round the back for a massive hip swing. Grrove Armada have outdone themselves with Get Down, the most feakin' amazing song of the year! There are two massive BREAKOUT opportunities here. Keep working with the house feel, leaning outside, light on your feet, weight on your toes. Then the Freemasons take us home (again!!) with an amazing breakout club feel to take your class through the essence of BODYJAM.

The BODYJAM education session introduces the "tip button". The button pops up on the DVD screen at inervals during the Masterclass and gives a detailed breakdown of that block of choreography.

arubatohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00525836297619268004noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6837539087654930285.post-74233458526388933642007-09-09T20:01:00.000+08:002007-09-09T20:05:07.979+08:00"You can never can tell."
Excerpt from the Between Deadlines column in the Inquirer:

BETWEEN DEADLINES
Clueless in Congress, and the same alma mother

***

That famous email. If you have an email account, chances are you've gotten at least one copy of a hilarious short story stitched together from Filipino-English malapropisms, the one that begins: "We've been friends for a long time ago. We come from the same alma mother."

As it turns out, "A Love Story" (re-titled "The?!" in some emails, "You're barking at the wrong leg" in others) was written as a joke by GMA Network news reporters Tina Panganiban-Perez, Kara David, Ruth Cabal, Joseph Morong, Nelson Canlas and Aubrey Carampel. Gosh, you never can tell.

Some of the malapropisms, connect me if I am wrong, can be traced to a beauty queen, an actress-turned- politician, even a former President. But most of those included in what is possibly the year's most forwarded email were coined by these creative journalists while killing time in coverage or waiting for interviews. (Yes, it's true good to be true.)

Reporters on the Commission on Elections (Comelec) beat saw it start. Once, barred from entering the Palacio del Gobernador building to cover Lintang Bedol's first appearance before the commission after his arrest, they fumed when another reporter managed to sneak into the Comelec building. Under the searing midday sun, Panganiban-Perez quipped: "'Pag nakita natin siya sa taas, sabihin natin: 'Well, well, well, look do we have here...'"

It was enough to crack up the agitated group, and other malapropisms were exchanged the rest of the day. By evening, Perez texted her colleagues a partial list of "Worlds of Wisdom." A few days later came the first version (as conceptualized by David) of "A Love Story."

The group later uploaded a longer version of the story on to their personal websites and blogs. Then it began to circulate on the Internet, reaching Vancouver, Hong Kong and Bangkok, among many other cities -- without any attribution, however, to the authors or their websites. The nerd!

Issues over intellectual property rights notwithstanding, the group composed a sequel, titled "Sinetch si Jeff," and then a pressed release from "Genie-fer," the lovestruck girl in the first story, in a spirited defense of, well, her use of the English language.
"A Love Story" continues to gain in popularity. As for the authors, let's cut them some slacks. Perez said she and her friends want to make it known that they can speak good, grammatically correct English. "Worlds of Wisdom" is simply a diversion, albeit one that has become a rebounding success. N. Same place, same monobloc chairs but the value I got from watching Christina's concert was way more than what I got from Mariah.

The concert started late, and damn! I too was late. Bills said it'd be at 7pm. It started 830, and still stupid me arrived 9pm! Grr! What was astonishing is that there were a lot of empty chairs at the back! I didnt mind too that the usheretted directed me to the wrong seat. I was at D37 but I sat down at D27! ehehehe.

If there was one regret, it would be that I didnt bring my camera!!! There were 2 people in front of me who were using their digicams! I thought kasi they won't be allowed in! Waahh!! So I had to make use of my phone which of course didnt compare to my digicam. Argh. I'd have to ask a friend of Colby to give me some pics he took of the concert.

I like the part when they were saying goodbyes and a drizzle happened along with confetti. The weather really cooperated with us. I was shouting, "Sige tuloy pa rin!" partly because I had an umbrella with me naman talaga.

There were freebies from the sponsors but I wasnt able to get much. Sayang yung Nokia pamaypay and balloons!

Twas a good thing too that the concert was near our office. I was able to eat pa nga dinner and rest at the pantry before going home!

Pls visit my Multiply site for pics and vids.

arubatohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00525836297619268004noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6837539087654930285.post-7547501657672691582007-06-29T17:24:00.000+08:002007-07-01T10:35:33.547+08:00The Spot?

Most likely.

arubatohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00525836297619268004noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6837539087654930285.post-3740212590328394052007-06-18T15:12:00.001+08:002007-07-01T10:31:38.487+08:00The Date and the Ticket

arubatohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00525836297619268004noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6837539087654930285.post-14573631319167129442007-06-16T21:47:00.000+08:002007-07-01T10:24:02.761+08:00This Azuki cookie something from Starbucks doesn't taste good.

arubatohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00525836297619268004noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6837539087654930285.post-66708974365462722122007-06-16T11:46:00.000+08:002007-09-09T20:10:46.423+08:00As a token for relieving her Saturday Jam classes, Patricia gave me this:

Thanks Patricia!

arubatohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00525836297619268004noreply@blogger.com0
