Share photos and the story that goes with your special item.I am sharing a family heirloom which my mom owns.. My Uncle Sonny gave this butterfly serving tray to my mom that he got when he was in the Navy in South America..He watched a man put this together.. under the glass is all real butterflies that he assembled into a pattern..I can't tell you how many or what kind of butterflies he used to make this beautiful tray.. THE EUGENE TALMADGE MEMORIAL BRIDGE.... VISIT ALICE TO JOIN...

Located in Savannah, Georgia in the USA this bridge spans the River Savannah linking the states of Georgia and South Carolina. The current structure was completed in 1990 and is named in honour of a former governor of the state of Georgia, Eugene Talmadge.

Completed in 1990 the new Talmadge Memorial cable-stayed bridge replaced the old cantilever truss bridge (built in 1953), which had become a danger for large shipping entering the port in Savannah, Georgia, the largest single terminal container port on the United States eastern seaboard. The new bridge provides 185 ft.(56.4 m.) of vertical navigational clearance. Its horizontal clearance is 1,023 feet with both main piers located on the north and south banks of the Savannah River. With a main span of 1100 ft. (335 m.) and a total length of 1.9 miles (3.06 km.) the new Talmadge Memorial carrier 4 lanes of traffic over the Savannah River between Georgia to South Carolina.

1. I want and need patience to carry out these wishes and goals...

2. I have got to get my bad eating habits back under control.....

3. I want to start a walking plan to add more exercise into my life...

4. I need to stop buying junk food and snacks that have become too tempting .....

5. I need to keep a journal everyday of what I eat and think on my journey...

6. I am going to find a walking partner and set up a routine that we can enjoy...

7. I am working toward loving myself better; so that I can love others around me...

What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now?
A bar of Caress soap that my husband uses and a bottle of Dial body wash which I use with a mesh scrubber..

Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator?

No.I have grapes and apples...

What would you change about your living room?
I like my living room, I need to clean and make my wood floors shine..

Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty?
Clean.. I have a load in progress right now..
What is in your fridge?

There are many things; fat-free milk, orange juice,eggs,rice pudding,sugar free Jello,whip topping in a can,left over roast beef with carrots and potatoes that we had for dinner last night.

White or wheat bread?

Both…Fred eats white bread and I like wheat or multi grain...

What is on top of your refrigerator?
A set of serving trays, a Showtime Rotisserie & BBQ, a box of humming bird food.

What color or design is on your shower curtain?
I just hung a solid white shower curtain with a new rod that curves out in the middle to give more room inside of the tub... it keeps the shower curtain from blowing against my body..it has a waffle design on it..

How many plants are in your home?
I have 5 plants on my front porch and 4 plants inside my house.I am not good about keeping plants alive.. I over water or don't water..

Is your bed made right now? Yes and is made up everyday..

Is your closet organized? no way..all three closets are a mess with no space to keep them neat.Time to toss out junk...

Can you describe your flashlight?

There are many flashlights around my house; plus I keep one in my car.They are black and ugly...

Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home?
I drink out of nice plastic glasses and my hubby only likes to drink out of paper ones.

Do you have iced tea made in a pitcher right now?

No.. I used to make iced tea when the kids were at home...I drink green tea in a can.

If you have a garage, is it cluttered?

My 2 car garage only has space for my car.. it is too cluttered with tons of my husband's tools and equipment...

Curtains or blinds?

Blinds in the bedrooms, kitchen and dining room..nothing in the living room..I don't want to block the view of the marsh.

How many pillows do you sleep with?

I use only one , but have a hard time finding a pillow that I really like !!!

Do you sleep with any lights on at night?

Yes, a night light in the kitchen and hallway.....

How often do you vacuum?

Almost everyday... birds make a mess with their seeds and feathers...

Standard toothbrush or electric?

I have both kind, but like the electric toothbrush the best..

What color is your toothbrush?

Purple and a blue one.

Do you have a welcome mat on your front porch?

Yes

What is in your oven right now?

A few areas of spill overs.. I need to turn on the self-cleaning oven..

Is there anything under your bed?

Yes.. I keep clean comforters in space bags sealed up and some wrapping paper..

Chore you hate doing the most?

I hate to mop or clean the bathrooms, my husband does these chores.. Bless him..

What retro items are in your home?

Very few….an antique bird lamp, and a Tiffany lamp with stained glass and dragonflies on it.

Do you have a separate room that you use as an office?

No, my computer is in my bedroom... no office.

How many mirrors are in your home?

Four mirrors..I have a beautiful one above my whirlpool tub that my daughter gave us.

Do you have any hidden emergency money around your home?

No ...I spend money too fast to hide it!!!

What color are your walls?

A sand colored beige in kitchen and living room; light green in my bedroom and white on the other walls.

Do you keep any kind of protection weapons in your home?

Yes ... a gun and bullets which will be used if I need to protect myself...

What does your home smell like right now?

My house smells like the roast beef dinner I had cooked earlier...

Favorite candle scent?

Apples and cinnamon..

What kind of pickles (if any) are in your refrigerator right now?
A few jars of Bread & Butter pickles, pickle relish and dill pickles.

What color is your favorite Bible?

A red one and a green one..

Ever been on your roof?

No ... my husband has and slipped off of a ladder down to a deck without injuries..

Do you own a stereo?

Yes in the living room which rarely gets played... I enjoy the radio set on am talk shows.

How many TVs do you have?

Too many.. in the kitchen, living room,and two bedrooms...

How many house phones?
Two house phones and we both have our cell phones..

Do you have a housekeeper?

Yes.. that would be Fred and Myself..

What style do you decorate in?
I don't know what style I decorate with, but it is just things I like..

Do you like solid colors in furniture or prints?

I have solid color furniture with print pillows and a print chair.

Is there a smoke detector in your home?

Yes .. two...

In case of fire, what are the items in your house which you’d grab if you only could make one quick trip?

My photos, firebox safe with important papers and my birds...

Friday Fill-Ins #85

1. The last meal I had at a restaurant was _at Cracker Barrel and it was grilled chicken tenders,pinto beans,carrots and a biscuit.

2. People blowing their noses at a table while out eating in a restaurant. is something I intensely dislike.

3. The full moon _is beautiful with it's light shining through the bedroom windows. A night for love.

4. See you'll later.... is one of my favorite local expressions.

5. Sometimes it's best to keep your mouth shut, if you can't say something nice about someone... don't say anything...

6. _Dragonfly [ I rent movies from Netflix ]. is the best movie I've seen so far this year!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to eating out with my hubby and mother., tomorrow my plans include working out at Curves and a visit to River street to watch the big ships, and Sunday, I want to go to church at the 6:00pm mass and then watch TV or play on my computer.. !

Last week, three of my nursing friends and I got together and went to see the movie Mamma Mia.. We loved the music and were ready to stand up and dance to the great songs... after the movie, we went to eat at the Olive Garden, and enjoyed being with each other.The first picture at the top shows us at the restaurant...I have been friends with Pat and Diane for many years and we have been close friends and co-workers... Our friendships will always remain strong with a special bond..... I have not know Connie very long, as she started working in the nursery, after I retired..I like Connie in the short time I have know her and our friendship will become closer.

Here is a picture of Pat and myself.... Pat has a heart of gold and is a sweetheart...

This is a picture of Diane [in the blue shirt] and Connie...I have been dear friends with Diane for over 20 years and we share many memories together; and Connie is the new kid on the block...we want to all get together once a month...

My favorite Word is "Baba"..... this is the name my grandkids gave me and it is the Japanese name for "grandma", which I am to 14 great kids and grand teens....I love to hear them say "love you Baba"... no greater words in the world.

Here is a picture of my granddaughter Hallie's 15th birthday party ..... all of her friends were "hanging" out with her at a pool party held at her Aunt Julie's house.. a fun time was had by all..

My 5 year old granddaughter Emma was right in the middle of all the fun in the hot tub... she can't wait to be a teenager.. she kept up with them and danced the night away.... Emma had a ball "hanging" out with Hallie's friends .
