Continuing his domination of International Slopestyle events, Halo's Sam Pilgrim won the Adidas Slopestyle in Saalbach, Austria at the weekend with his trademark smooth style and big tricks.

Huge Flips, Double Tailwhips, One foot X-up flips.....were just a few highlights of his impressive runs.

Sam was using his signature Purple colourway Halo SAS wheels which will be available at the end of September.

Sam Pilgrim Doubles in Avoriaz!

Halo's Sam Pilgrim came away from the Roof N' Slopestyle comp in Avoriaz, France with a double win!

Sam won Best Trick on Monday with a double whip pulled clean.
He followed that up with the overall win in the slopestyle comp on Tuesday!

Sam was up against some of the very best slopestyle riders in the world including the USA's big guns - Darren Berrecloth and Cam McCaul.
The rest of the international riders included: Christopher Hatton, Yannick Granieri, Anthony Tomassi, Tony Rocci, Pierre Edouard Ferry, Thomas Genon, Cédric Gracia (oui oui), Carlo Dieckman, Simon Bonicel, Richard Delaunay and Carter Holland.

Sam is still using the same pair of signature colourway Halo Purple SAS wheels that he used to win the Qashqai London and film his section for the new Kranked DVD - proof that Halo SAS wheels are built to perform and last!

Halo Riders Blitz Red Bull Bike Night!

Halo Team Riders Lance McDermott and Sam Pilgrim finished first and second respectively at the weekend's Red Bull Bike Night which was held in Trieste, Italy.
Each paired with a Pro BMXer they completely dominated the comp.

After their success at the recent Qashqai London event both Lance and Sam have proved themselves as possibly the best mtb jumpers in the world at the present time.

Halo Team Riders have another great weekend!

Halo Team riders continued their dominance of UK comps at the weekend.
On Sunday at NASS the Pro King of Dirt comp saw Halo's Chris Smith take 1st place and Halo's Rory Backshell take 3rd! Chris was back on top form and blitzed the cream of the UK's Dirt Jumpers with amazing and consistent runs which included 360 whips, superman seatgrabs and suicide 360's.
Rory's smooth trails-style was evident and his bag of tricks has been expanded over the winter months.
Sunday was also the date for the NPS4X series at Chicksands. Halo's Bernard Kerr (Junior) and Matt Jones (Juvenile) both won their categories whilst Pat Campbell-Jenner came 6th in the Pro/Elite section (only a slipped pedal away from a top 4 finish!).

Halo's Fionn Griffiths Doubles at US Open!

The 2008 US Open was a great success for Griffiths Racing and the Norco World Team. With two 1st place finishes in both the DH and the Slalom events Halo Team Rider Fionn was stoked on her weekends racing.

Here is Jill Coleby's (her Team Manager) account of what happened:

DH practice on the Friday went well although conditions were extremely un- predictable. “with the track as rough and rocky as it is here at Diablo Freeride park, the conditions in practice were unforgivable, just finding yourself slightly off line in the wet rocks will more than likely end in tears or at least with a quick nature appreciation visit to a near buy tree.”
Fionn escaped a fairly big crash on the wet rocks without major injury, just a couple of bumps and bruises to show for her efforts.
Friday afternoon slalom qualification went as well as it could. Fionn had good runs on both courses and took the qualification win convincingly. The 2nd place Kathy Pruitt and 3rd place Joanna Petterson were both riding well. It was a milestone in events for the crew here at Diablo Mountain with their first Dual Slalom event being held here this weekend.

Saturday was literally a whole new day, with Blue skies and a constant breeze both tracks were drying up quickly. DH qualification went off without a hitch, and made for some close racing. With a time of 3.13, Kathy Pruitt nudged Fionn out at the line by 1/10th of a second for the lead and less than a second from that was the South African Joanna Petterson in 3rd.

Slalom Finals got underway fairly late in the evening, with the sun setting it was becoming more and more difficult to see but racing was tough fought to the line every time. In the semi finals Fionn met Katie Holden the 4th place qualifier and easily advanced to the finals where she met Kathy Pruitt. Both Kathy and Fionn charged out of the gate in hopes of opening a time margin which Pruitt did taking the win in the first run. Even with Kathy’s time margin it would not be enough to hold off a frustrated Griffiths in the second. The end result would turn out to be the same as qualification.

Sundays Downhill event took place in front of large crowds lining the rock sections of the track and the lower portion of the mountain. With the Pro’s racing for the top prize of $5000 everyone looked slightly nervous.
“ I was all good at the start, got focused and went for it out the gate but in the second turn I noticed Jo walking back up the side of the track, she had left the start house only one minute before me so I thought it was kind of weird but carried on anyway. I got maybe another 45 ft before an official jumped into the track and stopped me.” After having a re -start due to an accident on course it came down to who could get their head back in the game. Joanna Petterson had a great run beating the fastest qualifying time from the previous day in 3.12, but it was not enough to hold off Fionn who followed with a time of 3.03. Fionn anxiously awaited the arrival of Kathy at the finish but it was not to be Pruitt’s day as she rode in with a time of 3.06.
“The Norco was working really well for me on this rocky track today, I loved every second of it. I just had fun riding my bike and the rest came together for me.“

Halo's Lance McDermott wins Qashqai Overall Series!

Team Halo Rider Lance McDermott came 3rd at the Qashqai London event at the weekend and in doing so clinched the overall series title and a cheque for Euros 40,000!
Lance wowed the crowd with his usual array of tricks including his trademark front-flip.

Halo's Sam Pilgrim wins Qashqai London!

Halo Team Rider Sam Pilgrim beat the best in the world to win the Qashqai London event at the weekend! Heldnext to the Tate Modern Gallery, Sam produced some electrifying runs to walk away with 1st place!
Sam was riding with a brand new set of Halo wheels - his soon to be released Signature Anodised Purple SAS wheels!
Sam's win propelled him to 5th place in the series overall!

Fionn on the podium again!

Fionn Griffiths continued her impressive start to the season with a 4th in DH at Ae Forest, Scotland in the NPS DH. Then it was off to Maribor, Slovenia for the World Cup where Fionn go 3rd in 4X and 4th in DH.
Fionn is proving to be one of the most consistent riders on the circuit!

Halo's Sam Pilgrim has followed up his win at the King of Dirt with 1st places at the Vienna Air King and Bergamo Townhill events! Sam also placed 3rd at the Qashqai Milan and in doing so qualified for the Qashqai Finals. The finals will be held in London 23rd-25th next to the Tate Modern Gallery!

Fionn Flies at Sea Otter!

Monterey, CA: Sea Otter Classic 2008 has been a huge success for Halo sponsored rider Fionn Griffiths! Coming into the season opener Fionn felt fit and ready to prove it. The Sea Otter tracks are renowned for being pedally and putting your off-season training to the test. So how did Fionn shape up? It was a double podium weekend for our British rider taking 3rd in the Dual Slalom and 2nd in the DH!

Halo Rider wins King of Dirt!

Last Sunday saw the first round of the 2008 King of Dirt series take place at a snowy Chicksands! Halo Team Rider Sam Pilgrim walked away with first place in the Pro category with runs that included Flip Whips, 360 Whips, Superman Backflips, Barrel Rolls and a Front Flip!!! Sam has really raised the bar of UK Dirt Jumping and again looks like the rider to beat this year!

Team GB Triathlete on Halo!

We have just signed a deal with the Giant UK Team for all their riders to run Halo Wheels for 2008 on all of their bikes.
Team Manager Rob Warner visited the Halo stand at Core bike to tie up the deal.
The team consists of Rob Warner, Chris Smith, Dan Yeomans and Kate Curd.
They will be using a variety of Halo rims and hubs including: Freedom Disc, SAS & Excite-D rims and DJD, Spin Doctor, 6Drive FR & Dozen 150 hubs.

We had a great filming/photo session at Adrenaline Alley Skatepark last Sunday with a huge turnout of riders who were lucky enough to see most of the UK's top Pros' in attendance!
The list of who showed up is ridiculous! Check this out: Glen Coe, Chris Mahoney, Pat Campbell-Jenner, Rory Backshell, Chris Smith, Gary Penman, Grant "Chopper" Fielder, Martyn Cooper, Josh Slater, Phil Auckland, Sam "Leopardhead" Pilgrim, Ricky Crompton and even Lance McDermott!
As you can guess the level of riding was amazing with the resi jump box being sessioned to death with many of the riders trying new tricks!
A big thank you to Mandy and the rest of the Crew at Adrenaline Alley for being great hosts. If you haven't been there yet you should make it a "must ride" venue for 2008 as it has something for everyone - and it's big!

Glen Coe Injured!

Halo's Glen Coe suffered a broken foot and shin yesterday whilst sessioning Corby Skatepark. A Superman Seatgrab went wrong and the bike ran over Glen's leg causing the break! Glen will be in a cast for 8 weeks which hasn't pleased his fiance Charlie as they're due to get married in 7 weeks' time!!!
This is also frustrating for Glen as he was just getting back to his very best riding level after a brief hiatus away from his bike!
We all wish Glen a speedy recovery and are sure that he will be back on his bike (and happily married) very soon!

Halo Team Riders Dominate NPS 4X

Halo Team Riders Tom Dowie and Pat Campbell-Jenner totally dominated the NPS 4X Junior category this year with Tom taking the title closely followed by Pat who finished in the runner-up spot. Tom and Pat also did very well at the National Champs with Tom becoming National 4X Junior Champion and Pat finishing in 3rd place.
Both riders use Halo Freedom Disc or Excite-D wheels. Pat has also been testing a new rear hub - and he likes it! More details soon!

Halo Team Rider Sam Pilgrim won the Roc D'Azur Dirt Comp last weekend. Sam has been almost unbeatable at most of the European comps this year and seems to have new tricks at every event! This weekend saw Sam pulling Superman Flips!

Sam "Leopardhead" Pilgrim is now on Halo Wheels! Sam is way up there and can be counted amongst the best International Dirt Jumpers around at the moment! He has proved himself in National and International comps with consistent Top 3 finishes in all events - the latest being a 2nd place at the Eurobike Comp!
