Todays session was producing something instead of consuming activities. Parents were asked to play or do something with their child with one thing they found in their purse. Few children were really enjoying the object which they found in their mothers purse and few mothers got clues as to what to carry in their purse :-) . It was interesting to observe one child explore one hair clip that it found in the mothers purse in various different ways. She held it up crossly and was saying "bird" to her mother. she tried to put it on to her hair, feel the teeths of the clip and was pretending it to be a butterfly. One child was feeling the comb . My observation was that all the children were first very kinesthetically exploring the object and then came various different ways. later I gave them different objects to play with the child which promotes different kinds of development . Again I was pointing at the mother who was incorporating various intelligences into the way she was playing with the object. First she sang and was counting with the object, she later made a structure out of the object, suddenly one child got attracted to the object and wanted that object for the visual representation attracted her more.....

The session was about insects and hide and seek the insects in sand. One child who didn't want to touch sand did want to search for the insects which was hidden in the sand. Children just enjoyed playing with the sand and the insects which they found in the sand . Later discussed about discipling children as a parenting tip.

The session was about colors . The children were excited with the colourful bangles which was given to them to explore the colors so were the moms. Some wanted to try it on their hands. One child was very upset as it was not fitting his hand, one child was just enjoying the different colored bangles . They had to put the bangles onto a tissue holder sorting in different colors with their mothers . Next we played with different colored streamers , identifying it one by one and the mother child had to make some colourful scenery out of all the colours . One child was so happy to see the glue in my hand and started showing me his index finger asking me to give him glue so he can start sticking . Later the children made colourful butterflies and sang with those butterflies. It was amazing to see the children sitting with their mothers trying to do the activity together in a circle .

The session was about self intelligence today. Parent and child together would do an activity were in they would make a collage of things that the child likes. All the parents were very much involved in the activity . They really liked to do the cutting and the pasting. But the challenge was how would you get the child motivated , get into it . Later talked about what was the session all about , what was the objective and how did they all feel about it . Disussed few parenting questions as a parent asked few questions as to what do I do when a child does this ? Stressed on more observation as to what happens in the class .

Parents have been introduced to the concept of multiple intelligence. Today the parent had to tell a story while drawing pictures to their child . Although few children were enjoying the story and the drawing few children found something else to explore . It was a empty box that was lying around. One child just wanted to hide himself inside the box. He was playing with the box the whole time when the mother was trying to call him to see what she is drawing ! Next they were given sand trays and some sand tools and animals and trees . Children just loved to explore the sand. One child didn't like the wetness in the sand . One child kept rubbing the sand to his hands, some even tasted it :-) . they were exploring it in all different ways. One mother was trying to teach something to the child although the child was busy with his own exploration. Few children didn't want to leave the sand . It was their first exposure to sand .

The objective for today was to verbalise what ever they were doing , parents
were given puzzles to put it to-gether with the child while verbalising
their process of putting the puzzle to-gether, they were asked to read
pictures to their child. Children enjoyed the free time when they could play
with the kitchen set. Everyone in the group pitched in and wanted to play
with it.

Children enjoyed their first exposure to paint. They liked to dip their
hands and feel the paint. They emptied the pallete on the paper and rubbed
the paint all around the paper . It was amazing to see the children to get
in a circle and play pass ball at an age when they don't want to give away
anything that comes in their hand. I was really thrilled.

Children are getting used to the environment and also the routine . when I
spread the sheet they know its time for snacks and everyone gets around the
sheet, and when I get the blue blanket out everyone comes in for a story
time . Talked about lovely labeling by going back to the labeling the
parents lived with in their childhood. I really enjoyed the responses and
the interactive discussions with the parents. All the parents left with
thinking about labeling and what that did to children.

Children enjoyed the fast music very much. They enjoyed running around with
their mothers . I enjoyed the parent child musical chair where the parent
had to do something special with their child. While playing ring-a-ring a
rosie although the child was not part of the circle she was going in circles
around her. The In/Out game was a hit. The children went back to that game
where they kept on jumping inside the hoop and outside the hoop with their
parents.

Today's activity was on feelings. The faces on angry and happy some of them were making was superb. One of the child came running wondering if she missed meditation. The children enjoy meditation.

Today was a learning day for me. My activity was on big and small and while the activity was going on one of the child brought the box of small balls and all the children ran towards that and my activity was left behind. So I accepted that and took out the box of big balls and put it there. They began dropping the balls into the hole of a table and then one of them tried putting the big ball into the hole and it wouldn't go! Acceptance indeed helped!

Today one of the child actually asked for meditation because he missed it. Today they liked the story with a teddy. Ring-a-ringa roses was done by the entire group.

Paper hide and seek

Today one of the child and me had agreat time trying to stick ,I kept playing hide n seek with the paper and I kept tearing the paper to see her, and then she kept hiding and tearing the paper and then I made a song on gum and she kept putting it on and I kept sticking the paper.Mini

Today the theme was "me". I liked the way one of the child crinkled his nose when I pointed to my nose. The session at the point where they had to stick on the animal, was almost like an adult session. Pin drop silence.Mini

New batch

Today was the first day of the new batch. I was anxious, till I saw all the cute wonders bubbling with energy. Today was movement activity, the story telling was fun and when I read it was a hot day, they began fanning the animals.
