We are REAL DJ's that can turn a party into a sick day from work, a absence from school, or even a trip to the local police station. We have the networking capabilities to destroy.Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.comBlogger99125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-4636398496854761382008-10-03T06:38:00.001-07:002008-10-03T06:39:53.203-07:00How Sick is Donald Duck?<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_u0n_1QlGB20/SOYgcAut-yI/AAAAAAAAAhY/fO_6Jxxym-Y/s400/f_oiedb88donam_926a3e4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252921680978639650" />

Listen here.

- Johnsville

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-73676536035467151602008-10-01T22:08:00.000-07:002008-10-01T22:10:51.385-07:00Kanye West Love Lockdown Remix.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_u0n_1QlGB20/SORXrx5aAFI/AAAAAAAAAhQ/mGgcbZqHwp0/s400/lovelockdownjohnsvillecover.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252419475060949074" />

Kanye West- Love Lockdown (Johnsville Jungle Fever Remix)

Peace and love,

- Johnsville

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-66627370862225484822008-09-14T22:35:00.000-07:002008-09-14T22:38:54.253-07:00Terrifying!

- Johnsville

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-17718731212977430882008-09-03T13:29:00.000-07:002008-09-08T13:19:09.195-07:00Getting Righteous<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_u0n_1QlGB20/SMWIt9CNsfI/AAAAAAAAAhE/NQHx8GHC9hc/s400/voting_booth.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243747664202150386" />

See flyer full length here.

According to the Federal Census, There 25 million voting-eligible Americans between the ages of 18-24, but only 46 percent are registered to vote, and the voter turnout rate of those registered is only 47%. I had so much more time to be on the internet and write blogs while I was in Austria. Once I touched down in London, that all changed. This place has been so great to me.

It all started when for some reason, my phone clock was one hour behind my watch clock. I set my alarm on my phone for 6:30 AM because I had to catch a bus to the Bratislava airport at 7:20. I woke up after one hour of sleep (I couldn't sleep, too excited to go to London. My stomach was also pretty jacked up because I had to have one last cheese filled hot dog from the wiener stand in Vienna. So I'm packing my bags and brushing my teeth when I put my watch on to see that it's really 7:30, and have already missed my bus by 10 minutes. I chuck the rest of my shit into my bag in a super duper hurry and run out the door. I felt bad since I was gonna leave a cute little note for the people that I was staying with and flew me out here (sorry!). I get there and see that there's another bus leaving at 8:30. My flight leaves at 10:45 so this is really cutting it close. The whole bus ride I was checking my watch and looking out the window like a crazy person, but I made it to Bratislava right on time. The lady at check-in said I had to check my bag since it was too heavy, but I did my best to flirt my way through. It worked and she let me take it on with a smile. After that I headed through security check, where they made me take everything out of my DJ bag (I guess a Serato box and a bunch of wires can look a little shady).

I got on a packed Ryan Air plane and finally sit down. This chick that I talked to while getting my passport checked ended up sitting next to me. We talked for a while and it turns out she lives in NY (she lives in both NY and London). She was a Russian born model named Svetlana. She ended up helping me out so much on this trip. She bought me a drink on the plane, a bus ticket to Central London (including my return ticket to the airport), food, and let me use her phone to call my friends. She was a for real angel. Since I've been here it's been amazing. London is fucking sick. It's funny because tons of other NY heads are randomly out here at the same time. So far I've run into Anton Glamb (Drunk/Artist/Skater), Prince Terrence (Santogold/High Voltage), Luca (Drop The Lime), Lauren Flax (iheartcomix), and Lief (Palms Out). It's been like a little Brooklyn, I love it!

More stories 2 come.

peace

Lucas

P.S.
I made a Flicker account so I could dump the pics I take on my handy camera.

PEEP!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_u0n_1QlGB20/SLyH8CUPP1I/AAAAAAAAAgU/_p2PaU-zUW0/s400/DSC00772.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241213531836071762" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_u0n_1QlGB20/SLyIK_5dHzI/AAAAAAAAAgc/QdJjqHkWw_M/s400/DSC00786.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241213788884901682" />

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-75042570914193710832008-08-26T11:36:00.000-07:002008-08-27T07:32:29.297-07:00Meanwhile Back In New York.Thursday, Holler!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_u0n_1QlGB20/SLRNtCCea8I/AAAAAAAAAek/tFg9T-RYAl4/s400/commonrose.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5238897702575434690" />

Saturday, Baller!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_u0n_1QlGB20/SLVlYa5dG-I/AAAAAAAAAgM/d8hhq4aLxWE/s400/hbthuck.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239205211727010786" />

- Johnsville

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-76751792656432298092008-08-19T21:19:00.000-07:002008-08-19T21:21:58.206-07:00October 21 2008, Common Folk.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_u0n_1QlGB20/SKuboVSD9II/AAAAAAAAAeM/92K8SgUv94k/s400/commonmarocs.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5236450108958307458" />

- Johnsville

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-78070528089403025012008-08-18T14:51:00.000-07:002008-08-22T12:44:03.473-07:00tourist*THIS IS KIND OF OUT DATED. If you may not know I had to cancel my part of our European tour because my mom got a bit ill and it was necessary that I stay home. She is doing really well and will be back on her feet and acting a fool very soon. It is really awesome to know that there are some great people out there that feel for you during tough times.

Peace and Love

- Johnsville

PS: How awesome was my mom back in the day?

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-84931124094847097182008-08-17T13:09:00.000-07:002008-08-17T15:47:00.766-07:00balls outAustrian people get wasted. The ball last night (which is the main reason I'm in Europe) was nuts. It started at around 9 with a nice dinner in our assigned seats. They served cold soup to start, chicken with rice, and chocolate moose for dessert. After dinner they cleared out most of the tables and a band played that did mostly covers of old rock songs. Before dinner everyone was coming up to me asking if I was the DJ from New York? I met a lot of nice people. Started DJing at around midnight. Shit got fucking crazy. People were drunk by the end of dinner and they just kept going. One guy accidentlly got a bottle smashed over his head by his friend (it was really an accident). A fuse blew at about 6 in the morning in the middle of Technology by Daft Punk. Someone just played the drums until they fixed it. By that point the bartenders were even trashed and telling me that I should come play in Munich. Played old reggae for another hour and they packed up. I wandered up to the house at around 7 and decided I needed a bowl of coco crispys (I woke up with the bowl next to my bed). Woke up at 1:30 and got the tail end of the brunch they started to prepare when we were still partying in the hall. We all took naps after that then packed out stuff and drove to the apt in Vienna. We were all so hungry after the drive and we ended up going to Mc Donald's (they are everywhere). Probably going to a bar or club here. I still haven't been to one yet. It feels good to be in a city again. I'd been in the middle of nowhere since Weds. I also booked my ticket to London for the 19th. I also found out a bunch of people I know will be in London while in there. Gonna try to hook up some gigs with my friends Anton and Terry.

Holler.

Lucas

p.s.
I've been updating this website where you can make playlists and people can listen for free.
If you're bored at work go to Lucasboy.muxtape.com.

pics yo!

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-49858639257394866122008-08-16T07:09:00.000-07:002008-08-16T10:18:38.320-07:00my clothing has turned pink...oops!
I don't know what I did wrong. Maybe it was because the buttons on the washer were in German? I don't know. Its something that I thought only happened in the movies. Its not too bad, mainly a bunch of socks and a couple white t-shirts. Fuck it! They look pretty boss in pink anyway. Last night I didn't have a drop of booze and was asleep by 11pm. I had to save my energy for tonight. Everyone is saying that this party will go till 7am (which I love). Tomorrow afternoon there's going to be a huge brunch and everyone gets to nurse their hangovers. On another random-ass note, they're taking me to the Neil Young concert in Vienna (sooo random). Well, the party starts in a couple of hours. Gotta do a sound check and such.

peace

Lucas

Here are some pre-party pictures.

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-69900556719316326742008-08-15T09:01:00.000-07:002008-08-15T10:53:17.559-07:00i called an Austrian prince a cuntAnother night of drinking wine and beer. It gives me the worst hangovers. There are 100 bottles of vodka and 70 bottles of gin for the party tomorrow they are saving (its going to be nasty). My nights thus far consist of eating a really nice dinner at a long dining room table (which I haven't done in a long time). Its pretty nice (lots of candles). They even have a little jar of cigarettes at the table. After dinner we hang out for a bit and everyone smokes and talks (in German). Last night we were taking shots of homemade schnapps and they were trying to teach me Austrian chants. Then we stumbled down to one of the guest houses where we listened to music, drink, smoke weed, and play drinking games (I'm really bad at the games). They love oldies so I've been lacing them with some really good music. I've been calling everyone "cuzzy" and its starting to catch on. Its pretty funny. Last night I called this royal a "cunt" and he got pissed. He was like "why would you say that to me?!". I was like "I call everyone that. Its a good thing!". Eventually he saw it my way and now we’re the best of friends. Everyone thinks its amazing that I don't mix in tabacco when I roll joints. They say "he likes it pure...". Anyways... gotta eat dinner. Below I've put up some pics of the guns I was shooting yesterday (cans only!).

peace.

Lucas

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-92010840251882187552008-08-14T08:47:00.000-07:002008-08-14T15:04:57.535-07:00After 24 hours of travel...I'm in Austria. To get here I flew from New York to London (Heathrow),
took a bus from there to London (Luton). Luton airport sucks! It
really sucks when find out your next flight doesn't leave for 10 hours.
I hadn't slept yet and Luton isn't the airport for sleeping.
I finally perched myself on this hard window sill and used my towel as a pillow.
I put on my sunglasses and headphones and tried to get some sleep. I
had my right arm through the strap of my carry-on bag so the hood rats
couldn't jack me. I woke up after a while and thought I had a stroke
because my right arm was completely dead. I got the felling back,
gathered myself, and wondered around the airport to kill time (without
spending money). My next flight was to Bratislava which I thought was
in Austria but it turns out its the capital of Slovakia. I got off the
flight hoping my ride would be there waiting to pick me up (my phone
doesn't work and I would have been screwed). Sure enough they there there and
we drove to Vienna (about 45 min). We arrive at the apt. This place
is sick. There's an old timey elevator in it from 1909. It is glass
and has a seat in it! Pinkies up. So I dropped off my stuff and I was
shown around the hood. Ate cheese filled sausages stuffed inside a
hero with mustard. They're good but rip your stomache apart. We drank
beers in the streets (legally) and went to check out this club called
Flex. Tons of drugged out peoples hanging outside and drinking and
smoking. Sketchy people mumbling "Coke, Extasy, Weed...". The people I
was with got some weed I offered to roll them a blunt and they had
never had one. We got more beer and went back to the apt where the
only movie on the TV in English was "Wild Dogs" (really bad "biker"
movie with Tim Allen). We smoked and I got in "I'm high and finally
have the internet again mode". Talked to Kellogg on iChat about an
hour then went to sleep. Got up at about 10 to go to where the ball is- its
gonna be in the Alps. Turns out that a lot of people in Europe take
baths instead of showers so it took me a bit longer to get ready (I
was a little too tall for the tub). So then we drove for about an hour
on some very windy roads in the mountains. I'm not used to being in
cars that aren't cabs so I was holding on for dear life. We make it to
the house. This place in insane. Its a HUGE house on a hill with a
bunch of smaller guest houses below. There's a small church, a pool, a
garden and a old firehouse where the party is going to be (on Sat).
Everyone is really nice. Food is all cooked for you by this lady that
runs the house (she speaks zero English). Oh yeah! There's also an old
bunker that is now used as a wine celler (pretty neat). Today we had a
nice lunch and then shot off guns (only at cans). There are a ton of
them. We shot a "Dirty Harry" style one and a semi-automatic one with
a clip. I'm pissed because I don't have my camera charger and there
are sooo many cool pictures to take. Untill then I'll use the camera
on my trusty Black Storm (my laptop). Check out some pics below.

More updates soon.

Lucas

<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt;
When I heard that we got a booking at Stanto's Play House I went out and got a new tattoo. True story. Well not exactly, I did get a new tattoo and we did get booked at Santo's Playhouse but the two are unrelated. Anyway, Santo's Workshop is apparently on of the best sound systems on this warming planet. We are playing there tonight along our new best friends Neon Hitch and Benny Blanco and old best friend Boy Boy and his partner Callecuttar (soon to be best friend) known together as The Chimney Climbers. Flat out it is a all star line up that is collectively the new face of Pilot Creative. More on that later. It is going to be a complete circus with some of the crispest sound the city with some of the hardest working talents in music today.

It is totally free with RSVP at pilotpartyatsantos@gmail.com

After the roof top BBQ's, Brunches, McCarren Pool Partie, Coney Island trip, day at the beach, Museum of Natural History, and PS1 shower up and celebrate your gay/strait or indifferent pride at our showcase party.

I heard the song on Hot 97 while being driven to the Fader Magazine party the other day. Trey Songz who I have never heard of before has the summertime anthem if you ask me. The production is tight as fuck and the voice effects that are way over used in modern hip hop actually sounds great. The beat is simple, clean and the lyrics are just great to sing along to when you are drunk and horny.

I think Trey is tapping into the right market. With 90's R&B on the rise and Aaliyah on the cover the same Fader Magazine party I was attending and not to mention R. Kelly getting off on fucking that young girl Trey is put a modern twist on 90's summer R&B well love.

My summertime banger Trey Songz - Missing You.

- Johnsville

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-65652632620614564862008-06-05T18:43:00.000-07:002008-06-11T09:10:38.733-07:00I am really happy...<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_u0n_1QlGB20/SEiXy9vn8hI/AAAAAAAAAXg/eq8Jh9zIdfg/s400/obama-404_668451c.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208579870877544978" />

... that angry dike did not win.

Seriously.

Sorry for the decline in posts. Basically, Busta is really saying shit like "When I was a kid.." or "I remember when.." about the music making process in this footage. I am not sure if I agree with him or not. I do agree that the computer is deprecating the value of musicians and people in general, but I also think that programs like Ableton and Pro Tools provide people that can't afford studio set ups and whatnot to remain completive against the giant record labels that attempt to feed people what they consider is good music. The power of music is back in the peoples hands.

Affordable music software gives people the power to get involved in music and allows people to enjoy music for sheer content and not image or advertisement. Artists like Justice, Gnarls Barkley, and Chromeo owe most of their success to this new way of piloting music. Their quality of music beat out the quantity. In the same respect, things like blogs and myspace allow writers or semi writers to compete with accredited magazines, newspapers and essays. Like this little post for example.

Who knows?

PS: Don't get me wrong I love Busta Rhymes.

- Johnsville

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-36685628364873757702008-05-07T16:27:00.000-07:002008-06-04T16:16:18.603-07:00Benny Blanco + Spank Rock + Kylie Minouge = Holy Fucking Shit!Everyone knows that Spank Rock and Benny Blanco mix better than peanut butter and jelly or Wall St business men and cocaine but to collaborate over a Kylie Minogue is just pure sexy. It means to never half ass a project even if it is a small detail. For every small part is an important piece of the whole picture, even if the project is not a picture.

For example, if 4 people are traveling in an elevator and one gets out, chances are the remaining 3 people will shift around in respect to the other people's comfort zone. In a picture or piece of music, or even a business, if something shifts, take note of the remaining pieces.

This whole way of thinking was passed on to me by my senior illustration professor at The School of Visual Arts, Steven Brodner, who is featured in the video above. Steve, who is probably best known for his illustrations in the New Yorker and for the film Bulworth, has created work for many respected clients. He has had a very extensive career as an illustrator/artist professionally and more recently as a college professor. Steve is an amazing artist, teacher, father and thinker. His work exceeds the two dimensions of paper and is a true voice about the dirty politics and swayed media that we are a slave to today. He is also one of the funniest guys in the world.

More about Steve Brodner.

- Johnsville

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-15074658833465319112008-04-16T07:51:00.000-07:002008-04-16T08:01:43.945-07:00Shopping On The Dancefloor Music Video

Get Purple Crushed.

- Johnsville

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6752245822769874046.post-27153135952725272062008-04-14T12:35:00.000-07:002008-06-04T10:58:24.463-07:00"Oh I Just Can't Wait To Be King!!!"
If a picture says 1000 words, this picture would repeat the words "Awesome, Baller, Pimp, WTF and Awkward" 200 times each. Do not be fooled, this is an actual photo of Prince William holding a girl by the hair who is writing the word "King" on his chest with what appears to be her lipstick. God help us all if it is not.

For me, the most amazing part of this picture is the girl. She is pretty creative to...

A. figure out that lipstick can be a makeshift marker come an emergency situation. What could be more serious than reminding the Prince of England that he will be king in such dramatic fashion? I'm fairly sure he did not need to be reminded of who he is.
B. have the balls to open Slick Willy's shirt and tag on his chest. Maybe she was just writing her tag on him? I am strongly guessing not. I hear you can be sentenced to death by the royal family's dragon for graffiti.

Anyway, besides the sexual tone of this picture, it is more horrifying than it is awesome. I feel this photo is part of a scrap book of images surrounding Prince William, abusing women, beheading poor people, kicking babies and hanging out with Flavor Flav or (insert your least favorite DJ/Night Life person here _______.) There are some serious theories that identify William as the Anti Christ and a major player in the Illuminati and pictures like this only encourage these hippies to smoke more pot and play hacky sack. Even though it is a very valid theory. See for yourself.

Nonetheless, I am happy to see that the young prince is behaving in a way that I approve of. As if he gave a shit about me. Granted, if I were Prince William, there would be 3 overweight booty chicks writing "His Majesty" on my ass with a mix of high priced Iraqi oil and freshly icecap drowned polar bear blood. Not to mention the Chinese boy that I call Mexican massaging my ankles during the fiasco. (Probably in poor taste, but please save your cruel responses until after the Free Tibet party I am organizing.)

Lastly, I would have an unpaid intern follow me around, fanning me with a palm leaf in one arm and a ghetto blaster in the other playing...

God Save the Future Queen

- Johnsville

Sweatshop Labor NYChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13755245195638081210noreply@blogger.com0
