THis lovely range from K & Company was chosen by Karen for our K & Co Class last Saturday and it proved to be a great success. The colours are bright, the patterns...busy and at first sight you think "What am I going to do woth that?". Well we found plenty to do with it and everyone had a great time.

The first layout was probably the biggest success with loads of colour variations. The first layout in this trio is by Karen and the rest are from 2 of our talented ladies in the class.

The second layout was simpler but no less effective.

Karen asked me to make the third layout and as I was itching to use Gayle Bonds "Fashion House" stamps I decided this was a good time and used them as embellishments.

Notice the button stamps mixed in with the flowers.

This was a lovely kit, not perhaps papers I would normally have picked up but so please we got the chance to use them. I will certainly look mor eclosly at papers in future.

Loads of fun and a great opportunity to meet loads of new people. We had loads of you sign up for our new class newsletter which will go out tomorrow plus we gave out over 750 leaflets to our new customers.

that I can't keep my eyes open much longer. We have had a really busy day at Hempstead Valley. Thank you to everyone who worked on the stand today and to those of you who took the time to have a look and sign up for the class newsletter. We hope tp see you in classes soon.

I took these pictures at the Altered Art Journal Class on Saturday and thought I'd share them with you. Some of our very clever ladies have been hiding their light under a barrel. These are lovely.....

We're all ready

and it's been a really hectic day. The stand is now all prepared and ready for tomorrow and it looks lovely.

As it was empty of people this evening we both took some photos just in case you can't make it.

Thank you to everyone who has helped and provided their scrummy projects for us to use. We couldn't have done it without you.

Hope to see you all at Hempsead Valley Shopping Centre over the next few days.

Gayles has exceeded herself with some really lovely stamps and loads of great examples. See for yourselves how versatile these lovely new stamps are.

Gayles first set is Flowers & Fauna.

In this next card, Gayle has used the leaves to make the wings of the butterfly. The body is made from rolled paper.

In this last card Gayle has used a long petal for the body, the leaves for the wings and some of the lovely flowers.

And I am so loving doing this. After a hectic day and especially when it's so hot, I like to go home, have a cold shower, make a huge glass of orange squash and sit at my dining room table and "play". Most of the time I am preparing classes but on this occasion I am creating for myself.

I can sit here for hours at a time oblivious to everything around me as I engross myself in my work so here is a tiny peek at my project. If you want to see it finished you'll have to come to Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre on 6th/7th or 8th July and visit our stand. There will be loads of things to see and even a few make and takes to have a go at.

Another Special Edition Kit Class is over

and this time we used the beautiful We R Memory Keepers Tiffany Range. The kits included Papers, Cardstock, Fibres, stamps, acetate butterflies and journalling tab. There were 8 layouts and a mini book to get ideas from and everyone had a great time. A special thank you th Jenni Boyns who acted as a guest designer on this kit.

Letter To A Friend

This was a project I found a long time ago, originally designed by Judi Watanabe, and I fell in love with it. So a few weeks ago I taught it to a group of lovely ladies. As I didn't give any clues in the description, I think everyone was pleasantly surprised at the project. Here are two examples I made.

And when you open it, there is a compartment for all those goodies you want to hide.

Deco Pages can be scary

I have waited a while for my Deco page from Karen and when she gave it to me I was really pleased because it was a good idea for my theme, but there were 2 things that worried me. Firstly, and I know she did it for a joke, Karen used a Magnolia stamp for the girl on the swing and I am not a fan as she well knows.

However, the second thing is much more sinister...........What is lurking in the tree????

I've put the page away in my Deco Page book now but I have to go and look every so often to see if the "thing" hiding in the tree, is still there :)

And all that aside. here is another lovely Deco page by Maisie (her first one) for Suecanncrafts theme - Poetry. The poem is The Smugglers.

Quiz Night Friday 3rd July 2009

As most of you know, Terry, our partner in crime, raises a lot of money each year for different charities however, the one most close to his heart is the National Deaf Children Society.

To raise money this year Terry is treking the Himalayas in Nepal in October and to help him reach his target we are holding a Quiz Night. We need 6 people per table with a maximum of 14 tables for the event.

If you can get a table together and want a fun evening out, please ring 01634 366355 during business hours to book a place or table. You will need to bring your own nibbles but there will be a bar for drinks and a raffle.

If you can't come along but would like to help out, you could donate a raffle prize or visit Terrys "Just Giving" site which can be found HERE.

Wonderful Imagination

As a friendship grows you form a picture in your mind of someones style, likes and dislikes, etc, and then you join a Deco page Swap and all that gets blown out of the water.

Since we started this fantastic challenge there have been loads of surprises as everyone has swapped their Deco pages and on more than one occasion I have laughed out loud. That is exactly what I did when I saw this next Deco page made by Bev for Suecanncraft whose theme is Poetry.

Just Gorguss

Julie Blakeman popped in the shop the other day and under her arm was a plastic box full of scrummy papers or so I thought. When she opened the box, there was a pile of beautiful cards made using the Gorguss Girl stamps which are now available in store at Scrapbook Sisters.

Karens theme is "Le Chat" and this Deco Page was made for her by Julie Blakeman (AKA Starflower)

My theme is Trees and their inhabitants and this Deco page was made for me by Sue Cann (AKA suecanncraft.)

We love our job

Most people are used to seeing us either in the shop or teaching in our classroom, but there are many other things we do outside of the shop. Recently we were asked to do a series of talks by the Womens Institute, about Scrapbooking and the preservation of memories. Here is a picture of just a few of the lovely ladies we met on the day.

Some Altered Inspiration

I really love the leaves on the trees made using 3 colours of green and a piece of bath sponge.

Well despite the dreadful rain storms we had first thing this morning, the sunshine I ordered arrived at 10am just as we were setting out for our very first Treasure Hunt.

Here are a few photos to bring back some memories but I hope to allow all of you who took part, access to all the photos on our new classroom site which will be open for business soon. We've been exploring

because the Tresure Hunt is this Sunday and there is so much to do. I've booked the weather and I've been promised at least 5 hours of sunshine starting at 10am on Sunday and lasting at least long enough for us to have our picnic.

Well we had a really fun day last Friday, just me and Karen in a car, armed with maps, clues a camera, drinks and of course sweeties. I can't give to much away for obvious reasons but let's just say "Yes we did get lost" but that was mainly due to hysterical laughter and Karen dropping the sweets all over the floor.

I let Karen sort out the directions in the end.........

Well we got back safely and are now really looking forward to the Treasure Hunt. Watch out for your starting point which we will post on the Blog, Website and Forum on Friday. Please remember this is a pre-paid event and you can pay for your ticket on-line or in the shop. Can't wait.

Tic Tac Toe

I didn't give any clues for this class except for the title so no one had any idea what was in store for them when they arrives in class. The clue Tic Tac Toe was the number of pieces on the front of the project and the rest............well you can see for yourself.

This Gardening Book was made from scratch. Each pocket inside is for seed packets, notes and anything else for the keen gardener.

I really enjoyed making this book which can be adapted for any occasion and is a great gift.

My next projects are "Hanging by a thread" and "Letter to a friend". Don't miss them.
