Pop legend Michael Jackson was using 300,000 Swarovski crystals to light up his sets and costumes in his comeback shows, but unfortunately the sad thing happened.

The “Thriller” singer, whose 50-night “This Is It” residency at London’s O2 arena was to begin next month, would have over 1 million pounds worth of gems in 53 shapes, 40 sizes and 27 colours added onto his costumes and the stage to dazzle fans, reports contactmusic.com.

“As the King of Pop it is only natural for him to be crowned in crystal,” said Nadja Swarovski, vice president of Swarovski Crystal Business.

Choreographer Kenny Ortega, who is working with the 50-year-old star to put together the shows, said the partnership with the jewellery firm had “inspired our fashion and scenic elements to a new state of the art”.

The Concert was supposed to be one of the greatest events and greatest comebacks ever!!

Michael Jackson Autopsy "leaked" is Fake!

That “leaked” Michael Jackson autopsy report is reportedly a fake!

A “leaked” Michael Jackson autopsy report was the headline in a British tabloid Monday. The Sun claimed Jackson’s was bald, covered with needle wounds, bruises, and had broken ribs in a leaked report it had obtained.

A subsequent report says the “report” is totally fabricated.

Bald, emaciated, disfigured, 112 pounds, are among the claims the British tabloid had run. But a later story Monday morning calls the Sun’s allegations and the report completely “fabricated” and “false.

What is correct is the following:
1. The complete Los Angeles coroner’s autopsy report won’t be finished for 4-6 weeks
2. The Jackson family has ordered an independent third party autopsy report to be conducted. Its timeline for completion is yet unknown.

Michael Jackson has revealed the dates for his 10-night This Is It! run of concerts at London’s O2 Arena. The King of Pop’s first show is July 8th, and he’ll perform every other night until July 18th (leaving a day’s rest between every show), when he’ll take a four-night break before his next date, July 22nd. After that, only three shows remain: July 24th, 26th and 28th.

The general public onsale is March 13th, and fans who entered the online lottery the day Jackson held his press conference will find out soon whether or not they’ll have the opportunity to purchase tickets beforehand with a pre-sale password. For those in Europe — and super-fans willing to travel — the London shows are a huge deal. “This is it. I just want to say these will be my final show performances in London,” Jackson said during a press conference last Thursday. “I’ll be performing the songs my fans want to hear — this is it. This is really it. This is the final curtain call.” Jackson has not yet announced plans to perform anywhere else.

Why the gap between shows? Rock Daily has several explanations (and theories). First, the O2 already had some shows lined up in July — including a July 11th Ne-Yo gig (a Ne-Yo appearance during one of MJ’s shows wouldn’t be out of the question, or vice-versa). A full-scale stage show is exhausting — just ask Janet Jackson, who nixed most of her Rock Witchu jaunt — so Michael’s people may be factoring in recovery time for the now 50-year-old star. Maybe Jackson has a thing for even numbers (he’s not performing on a single odd date). Perhaps promoters AEG Live are leaving some room in case Jackson decides to extend the run beyond a “This Is It!” 10 gigs.

Regarding the last possibility, if you’re buying tickets for July 28th expecting to see Jackson’s last London show, you might not actually being seeing Jackson’s last London show — Billy Joel fans experienced this phenomenon when his supposed last concert at Shea Stadium became his second-to-last show at Shea (and the final concert wound up featuring Paul McCartney.) Jackson dates as they stand now:

Ghosts is a short film starring Michael Jackson which could also be classified as a long-form music video. It was filmed and first screened in 1996 and released along with select prints of the film Stephen King's THINNER. It was released a year later internationally on VHS. The film tells the story of a scary Maestro with supernatural powers, who is being forced out of a small town by its mayor. The movie includes a series of dance routines performed by Michael Jackson and his "family" of ghouls. Every song from the film was taken from Michael Jackson's HIStory and Blood on the Dance Floor albums. The film is also notable for the first film appearance of rapper Mos Def.

Plot Summary

The Maestro (Jackson) lives alone in a creepy-looking mansion on top of a hill, overlooking the town of "Normal Valley". Occasionally, he entertains the local children with scary magic tricks. One of the children tells his mother, who alerts the town Mayor (also played by Jackson); he in turn organizes the townspeople to go to the Maestro's mansion and force him out of town. Some of them show reluctance to do so, but are pressured into joining the Mayor on his crusade.
On a stormy night they go to the Maestro's mansion (which instead of a numbered address, is addressed "Someplace Else") holding flaming torches. When they arrive at the mansion, it is guarded by a large gate. They peer in through the gate, and by the haunting look of the mansion, have second thoughts about entering. The children assure the parents that the Maestro has done nothing wrong, and ask that they leave him alone. But the Mayor remarks, "He's a weirdo, and there's no place in this town for weirdos".
The front gate opens, frightening the townspeople, who make their way to the front door, which also opens by itself. The inside of the mansion appears to them even creepier than the outside, and the parents re-assure their children (and themselves) "there's no such thing as ghosts". They make their way into the house, and once they are all inside, the front door slams shut and locks itself.
Two more large doors swing open revealing a large, darkened dance hall. Hesitantly, the townspeople make their way to the dance hall, where they are greeted by The Maestro who makes a scary yet comical entrance. The Mayor angrily confronts him, calling the Maestro "strange", "weird", and a "freak", and telling him that he's not welcome in their town. The Maestro defends himself, and in response the Mayor threatens "Are you going to leave, or am I going to have to hurt you?" (The townspeople appear not to be as forceful in their position, but don't offer an objection).
To this the Maestro replies, "You're trying to scare me, aren't you?...I guess I have no choice; I have to try and scare you." He then makes a series of funny faces, which the Mayor calls "ridiculous" and "not funny". In a change of tone, the Maestro asks, "Is this scary?" and pulls his face sideways before pulling his face down and stretches his mouth. Then he continues to stretch his face more, ultimately pulls off his face to reveal his skull and laughing maniacally. The frightened townspeople run for the doors, which the Maestro shuts with his magical powers, then smashes his skull with his fists, revealing his normal head.
The Maestro then introduces his "family" of ghouls who, along with the Maestro, perform an extended dance routine (to original music composed by Jackson) which alternately impresses and scares the townspeople. During this sequence, the Maestro's acts include ripping his skin off to reveal a skeletal body; possessing the Mayor and making him dance; and transforming the Mayor into an ugly, horrific demon while remarking, "Who's the freak now?" ," Freaky Boy, Freak circus freak".
After his performance ends, the Maestro asks, "Do you still want me to go?". While the townspeople respond "no", the mayor vehemently says "Yes!". The Maestro quietly agrees by saying, "Fine...I'll go." He falls, and after smashing his hands and face into the floor his face and body violently start to crumble into dust on the floor, which is then blown away by the wind. The townspeople are saddened by this, and somewhat sorry to see him go. The Mayor however thinks he has come out victorious and heads for the doors saying "I Showed him". When he opens them he finds a monstrous-looking Maestro-demon head which says "HELLO" and terrifies him, and he runs away scared (leaving a comically Mayor-shaped hole in the glass door).
The townspeople then turn back to the now open front doors to see the Maestro standing there, laughing. They realize he isn't so bad after all and make peace with him. The story ends with one of the children asking, "Is this scary?", and the camera moves to a long shot of the mansion while terrified screams are heard.

Influences

Ghosts has much in common with its most direct predecessor, Thriller. Originally released in 1983, "Thriller" also featured Jackson as the main protagonist/antagonist, interacting and choreographed with "undead" dancers. Likewise, both films act as homages to monster films past.
While Thriller could be viewed as a tribute to 1950s - '70s genre films (I Was a Teenage Werewolf and George Romero's Living Dead series among them), Ghosts owes more directly to the Universal Monsters series of films. Even its opening sequence recalls scenes of torch-wielding villagers storming the castle gates of an assumed antagonist, a repeating motif in movies ranging from 1931's Frankenstein to 2004's Van Helsing.
Ghosts also can be viewed as a not-so-thinly veiled self-commentary by Jackson on his personal circumstances in the years preceding its production. Direct parallels can be drawn between various elements in the film and Jackson's own life: The Maestro - a reclusive, solitary figure, living removed from the townspeople, and interacting primarily with their children - is attacked by evil-seeming white and black figures with power in a manner similar to how Jackson perceived his own situation.

VHS release

On December 8, 1997, SMV Enterprises released the movie on VHS video cassette. The video was packaged in a "Limited Edition Deluxe Collector Box Set", which contained the 38-minute movie on a VHS video cassette, an A5 full colour program (similar to the A4 Cannes Film Festival Ghosts programme) and 2 CDs: the Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix CD album and a minimax CD with three tracks: "On the Line" (written by Jackson and produced by Babyface, later used for the Spike Lee movie Get on the Bus), "Ghosts (Mousse T's Radio Rock Singalong Version)", "Is It Scary (DJ Greek's Scary Mix)".
In February 1998, SMV Enterprises released the movie on a single VHS video cassette, without the additional CDs and packaging.

The news, rumour though, created a havoc among all MJ fans.

"Blood on the Dance Floor" was a hit record for Michael Jackson in 1997. It became a #1 hit for Jackson in the UK. The song did not appear again when The Essential Michael Jackson was released. According to the booklet of Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix, the title song is dedicated to Sir Elton John.

In 2007, it was revealed that the song debuted at #2 on the United World Chart, where it remained for 2 weeks. This was only "revealed" in 2007 due to the fact that the United World Chart had not been established in 1997 and only now, Media Traffic (the company that publishes the chart) is calculating charts years before the United World Chart had originally been made.

Planning a Europe Tour

Hoping to spark a comeback and capitalize on his popularity overseas, Michael Jackson is planning a European tour, sources said.

A source with deep ties to the music industry and Jackson's camp said, "He's still big in Europe and Japan. He's very popular in England. He's planning a tour."

One thing is for sure, Americans don’t see Jackson as the same superstar that he was 20 years ago.

His comeback attempts came to a screeching halt when he moved to Las Vegas in December with hopes to drum up interest in his music.

But apparently no offers were made for a show, and it seemed as if people just couldn’t forget the years of musical missteps and disturbing child abuse allegations.

A casino talent booker said that Las Vegas entertainment executives considered him “too radioactive at this time.”

"History" is a song on Michael Jackson's album, HIStory. At the beginning of the song there are various quotes from the history of America including one from Michael Jackson from when he was in the Jackson 5. Some quotes are also put in the middle of the song including one from Martin Luther King. It was composed by James Harris III and Terry Lewis. The vocals are sung by Boyz II Men. The song lasts for 6 minutes and 34 seconds with the last minute being used for other quotes in American history such as ones about Rosa Parks, the Statue of Liberty, Disneyland, the Berlin Wall and the first man on the moon. A remix of the song was featured on Michael Jackson's 1997 album, Blood on the Dance Floor. On June 13, 2005, Jackson played this song on his official website in celebration of his acquittal.

"Childhood" was a song written, produced and sung by Michael Jackson. It became the theme song for Free Willy 2. Michael Jackson has said that if one should want to know him, they should listen to "Childhood", saying, "It's the most honest song I've ever written". In the song Jackson expresses the pain he feels from his early memories. He asks not to be judged and shows us why he is trying to recapture his childhood.

The Music Video

The video for "Childhood", directed by Nick Brant, is of Michael in a forest as ships full of children float up in the air. The video is well remembered for its Peter Pan theme. The video was shot in 1995 Sequoia National Park where Jackson and many children reenacted scenes from Peter Pan. The video was a short shoot and Michael Jackson's appearance seemed youthful and for the first time, Jackson's hair was short in a music video. The video never caught on like its partner single "Scream" and was not in the track line-up of the HIStory World Tour. Jackson was supposed to perform the song at the Grammy Awards of 1996 where he was nominated for Album of the Year. However, the performance was canceled.

"You Are Not Alone" was the second single from his multi-platinum album HIStory. The song was written by R&B singer-songwriter R. Kelly and became the first single ever to debut at number one in the Billboard Hot 100.

Chart Performance

"You Are Not Alone" became the second most-successful Michael Jackson single released in the 1990s, after "Black or White". The song peaked at number one in many countries around the world, including the UK, the U.S., New Zealand, Ireland, France and Switzerland.

In the UK, it debuted at number three and then climbed to number one where it stayed for two weeks. The single remained in the top five for seven weeks and was in the top 75 for fifteen weeks. This long run in the charts resulted in a gold sales award. The huge success of "You Are Not Alone" pulled HIStory back into the top-ten.

In the U.S., the single broke a Billboard record by being the first-ever single to debut at number one on the Hot 100 singles chart. Although it debuted at number one, it only spent one week at the top, and Michael has not had a number one single on the Hot 100 since. It also debuted at number one on the magazine's R&B chart, where it remained for four weeks. Airplay was excellent with a number two peak position on the Hot 100 Airplay chart and a number one position on Billboard's R&B Airplay chart (where it stayed for seven weeks). Single sales were strong with a peak position of number two on the Billboard Hot 100 Sales chart, number one on the Billboard R&B Sales chart, and number three on the Billboard Maxi-single Sales chart. The song features Michael taking on the role of someone who would do "anythang" for money, and he sings about the various misdeeds he would commit for more money. In the chorus of the song, he states that he would do "anything - anythang - anything for money; I'd lie for you, die for you, even sell my soul to the devil".

The song itself takes on an open minded view on how greedy society has become and how some people would do almost anything to be rich or to gain money. The song also notes the corruption which money can spawn, Michael singing that "I'll never betray or deceive you my friend but - if you show me the cash then I will take it; If you tell me to cry, then I will fake it; if you give me your hand, then I will shake it; you'd do anything for money". Michael, in persona, also says that "you say you wouldn't do it for all the money in the world - I don't think so", recognizing the inherent flaw of such a phrase. Noticeably, Michael also ends each verse with the phrase "You'd do anything for money".

The main aim of the song is to satirize the lust for material possessions and money, a characteristic which has pervaded Western society. The character Michael plays is actually a stereotypical, yet extremely believable, representation of a Western citizen who's main goal in life is to seek and attain money by any means necessary.
