Our 17th wedding anniversary is on Monday. I work Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday of next week. My time off will probably be spent in the kitchen and the laundry room next week.

This is my favorite wedding picture of us. It's not a in very good shape because he played golf with a friend and his sister when we were in 'Vegas. I thought he was cheating on me because he didn't tell me about the girl. I saw her when they dropped him off at home, after the round of golf. I gave our son this picture to play with and he got milk or formula on it. I was mad. I got over it. I framed it again. I didn't take it out of the frame for this picture because I'm lazy these days. See how skinny I used to be?

We were married in a small ceremony at my mom's house. It was a very small gathering. My only regret is that hubby's sister wasn't there that day. She should have been but since it was a shotgun ceremony, I wanted to keep it small.

Yes, I was pregnant with our son the day we were married. I'm not embarrassed about it. I knew that we'd be together after talking about names for our kids on our first date! I was 25 years old when we met and we've been together ever since our first date, January 8th 1991. That is the day that I celebrate our first date anniversary. Our kids can do the math. I always tell them, especially the girls that the marriage should come before the kids but who am I to judge? They don't judge me!

Our wedding anniversary is July 28th. I moved in with him in May of '91 and I was pregnant by June 1st! As soon as he found out that I was pregnant, he proposed on the spot! He called his mom and dad and told them that he was getting married and that we were starting a family and I remember that we were both crying. I was scared to death but I was overjoyed too! I hadn't even met his folks yet. I love my late MIL for not judging me. She was a sweetie and she loved me unconditionally from the day we met. I hope that I can be as loving as she was if, by chance our son knocks a stranger up! I really lucked out having the MIL that I did! She is missed and she will always be loved.

We've had our ups and downs as with any relationship. When we used to fight, in the beginning, he'd rig the truck up so that it wouldn't start. That would make me so mad! Our first few years were rough! We made it this far and I have to thank him for helping me heal from all of my addictions. We have a history together and we have a wonderful family!

If he keeps loving me and being both my husband and my boyfriend, I'm pretty sure that we'll be together forever!

Thanks for all the songs that you've written for me, Honey!! You're one of a kind and I'm so lucky to have you! Thanks for the wonderful children too! And, thanks for rigging the truck so that it wouldn't start. I'm so glad that I couldn't leave and I'm so glad that I stayed!! The good sure has outweighed the bad!!

I love you!TraceyTreasurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10175981627284967050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6622613443059512899.post-26275165217287031852008-07-23T10:22:00.000-07:002008-07-23T13:44:21.270-07:00Mama Loves Shoes!Okay, so here's my shoe post! I love shoes! Books and shoes are at the top of the list of material things that I love! I love Victoria's Secret too but that's a whole other post! I haven't done a post on all the books that I love. I put them in a blog at My Recipe For Wellness. Check them out there.

BECAUSE THIS POST IS ABOUT SHOES!!!!! I bought myself a couple pairs with some birthday money. One new brown pair and a gently used black pair that are in the upper right corner of the picture. I'm sorry that you can't see them very well.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_V6OYeFY-6VQ/SIeHnEJmwqI/AAAAAAAAAsU/dQurn2i16bs/s400/101_0283+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5226294997785428642" />
The shoes in my collection range from size 8 to size 6. I average a 6 1/2. Shoes are funny like clothes in that the sizes aren't always true. Here are the 23 pairs that I wear most often. I don't wear heals often but I have them if I ever need to. I even have a pair of J-Lo stripper sandals with a 4 inch heal that aren't pictured and I can't walk in them but I only paid a dollar for them. They are #24.
My work tennies are made by Avia.
Apostrophe black pumps.
I have clogs by Xhilaration. I also love Target!
I have Bass clogs.
Nine West cuties/sandals.
Bisou-Bisou mules, beaded and dressy. I should wear them!
My favorite gold sandals are by Cathy Jean.
Boots by Lower East Side and some Sketchers.

I probably only have around 30 pairs to be honest. I am so proud of my French ones By Claude Montana, they were only $2.00 at one of my favorite thrift stores. They are pictured here:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_V6OYeFY-6VQ/SIeEZC7nQLI/AAAAAAAAAsE/j-LdhhHAd5w/s320/101_0296+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5226291458405253298" />

My collection is probably not impressive to most women but I love my collection. Sorry to Imelda Marcos's family, for mentioning her in my poll. I was just impressed by her shoe collection. For some reason I thought she was still with us. Ooops! I don't have any readers that have a collection like she had but I would love to hear about your collection!

I think a woman should at least have a pair of slippers, house shoes, (mine are ugly sandals that have old roof tar on them), boots, clogs, tennies, boots, clogs, (yeah, I know I repeated myself there), sandals, pumps and high healed sandals. But that's just because I love them so much!

Now, before you go judging me on the amount of money I spend on shoes remember that my collection was only around $200.00 and some pairs have been with me 24 years. Yeah, I've moved these little rhinestone, black leather boots over 12 times. Every time I see them I smile because I walked the streets of San Francisco with these on, saw Rush, REO Speedwagon, Heart, Y & T live, you name it, I saw them live wearing these boots in the 80's. I do believe if they could talk they'd say "Ouch, that was fun, let's do it again!" I can't bring myself to throw them out. They are my past. They are my most treasured item in my shoe collection. I had to stuff them for the picture. The poor things are flat these days.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_V6OYeFY-6VQ/SIdpXYTeahI/AAAAAAAAAr8/8U3H_ez9-_Q/s320/101_0293+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5226261742968793618" />

I was digging out my SBICCA's and my wooden sandals for this post when I found them. How many women can say that they have a pair of wooden sandals? I paid 50 cents for mine. They hurt my feet because they don't bend. That brings the total to 27. I didn't post a picture of my slippers but I can tell you that they are fuzzy, black and I also have a fuzzy pink pair. 29!

So tell me about your shoes people, what do you like and how many do you have?
I want to know!!
TraceyTreasurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10175981627284967050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6622613443059512899.post-58501709964297172352008-07-20T19:46:00.000-07:002008-07-23T09:13:23.453-07:00Family FunI haven't really been looking forward to seeing my dad but it was nice of him to visit. We had a great day!

We went out to show him the golf course our son works at. It was raining but it was still nice because it's one of the nicest places on Earth. IMO!!

Then we had lunch!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_V6OYeFY-6VQ/SIP5pXzGgPI/AAAAAAAAArk/bAu7ifIu8l0/s320/101_0276.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225294481838211314" />
Then we went downtown because I think we live in one of the most beautiful cities in the state.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_V6OYeFY-6VQ/SIP5JgEaZ-I/AAAAAAAAArc/LrAITHRYi00/s320/101_0278.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225293934302488546" />
We are family. We don't always agree with each other but there is mutual love. The past is water under the bridge and I realized today that I don't want anything from my dad except love. I don't need an apology because my past has made me who I am today. I am not unhappy and I don't want to be bitter! EVER!!

My live, IS GOOD!!!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_V6OYeFY-6VQ/SIP6Iiq-ocI/AAAAAAAAArs/Rj9kiQ7k1lM/s320/101_0279.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225295017332875714" />TraceyTreasurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10175981627284967050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6622613443059512899.post-18570850605297845692008-07-18T08:21:00.000-07:002008-07-19T17:16:08.101-07:00Recap In Ten MinutesWe received so many great gifts from so many wonderful people!! I did it!! I almost chickened out yesterday because I went to 3 tattoo places in town and the first two were just smelly and gross! The 3rd one was a charm. I couldn't find a picture of what I wanted but I went in today with a couple of ideas and damn, if the guy hadn't drawn up exactly what I wanted a couple of weeks ago!! I went in before 5 p.m. today and I was home before 6:30 p.m. I'm a little sore but it was worth it!! Thanks Brian!! I love it!!

Plo, if you are still reading, I don't know how you sat through your back tattoo!! I will be sending pictures to my special friends via email when it's healed in a couple of weeks!! I have more respect for those of you who have endured hours of pain being tattooed. It's on my lower back, just where I wanted it!! Life is GOOD!!

At least I didn't pass out!!

;)

I took the bandage off around 8 p.m. and it is so awesome! The stars look like shooting stars and the shading is so beautiful. I can't wait for it to stop hurting!!
:)TraceyTreasurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10175981627284967050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6622613443059512899.post-10604434211949435602008-07-15T08:08:00.000-07:002008-07-15T08:11:14.658-07:00Just Because I Thought This Was Funny! Why did the chicken cross the road?

BARACK OBAMA:
The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a
CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!

JOHN MC CAIN:
My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he
recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue
with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON:
When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little
chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me
uniquely qualified to ensure -- right from Day One! -- that
every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to
cross the road. But then, this really isn't about
me.......

DR. PHIL:
The problem we have here is that this chicken won't
realize that he must first deal with the problem on
'THIS' side of the road before it goes after the
problem on the 'OTHER SIDE' of the road. What we
need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting
by not taking on his 'CURRENT' problems before
adding 'NEW' problems.

OPRAH:
Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems,
which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead
of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take
falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this
chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and
not live his life like the rest of the chickens.

GEORGE W. BUSH:
We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road.
We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the
road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us.
There is no middle ground here.

COLIN POWELL :
Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the
satellite image of the chicken crossing the road...

ANDERSON COOPER - CNN:
We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have
not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of
the road.

JOHN KERRY:
Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am
now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was
misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it
now, and will remain against it.

NANCY GRACE:
That chicken crossed the road because he's GUILTY! You
can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.

PAT BUCHANAN:
To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

MARTHA STEWART:
No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was
going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to
sell my egg s when the price dropped to a certain level. No
little bird gave me any insider information.

DR SEUSS:
Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a
toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed
I've not been told.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY:
To die in the rain. Alone.

JERRY FALWELL:
Because the chicken was gay! Can't you people see the
plain truth? That's why they call it the 'other
side.' Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And if you
eat that chicken, you will become gay too. I say we boycott
all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the
liberal media white washes with seemingly harmless phrases
like the other side. That chicken should not be crossing
the road. It's as plain and as simple as that.

GRANDPA:
In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the
road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and
that was good enough.

BARBARA WALTERS:
Isn't that interesting? I only opened this one of mine. I still have two from this particular friend and I'm pretty sure that they are books because she knows that I have a passion for books that runs deep within my soul.

My friend knows that I love birds. The angel is protecting a nest of bird eggs. I haven't told her about our baby dove so it's amazing to me how perfect this gift is for me.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_V6OYeFY-6VQ/SHqjuuSOHpI/AAAAAAAAAp8/Bwm4pKwpras/s320/101_0178+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5222666740983275154" /> Can you see the eggs?

I used to collect angels. My friend doesn't know that I've been questioning all religions and all faith this year.

I think this statue is beautiful. I haven't decided if I'm keeping her in the house or moving her out to the garden but she is very beautiful.

Youngest daughter opened both of her gifts and she received a video and a coloring book. She loves to color! Her gifts are perfect for her!

I will let you know about the other two when I open them. It's nice to have presents to look at. This is the first year that I have been able to save some for my actual birthday.

I don't work on Wednesday but they want me to come in for a birthday party. I swear I work with some of the most amazing people in the world. I appreciate most of them! I've only been there a month so I think it's really special of them to do that for me!TraceyTreasurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10175981627284967050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6622613443059512899.post-30294611127600808142008-07-11T18:29:00.000-07:002008-07-11T19:07:43.187-07:00I'm Just Lucky!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_V6OYeFY-6VQ/SHgJTqN3YaI/AAAAAAAAAps/tMgahHRoFhQ/s320/101_0170+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221934001290699170" />
The first of my birthday boxes has arrived! I hate to wait but I didn't tear into this box when it was dropped off by the mail person today. I waited 8 hours before I even opened the box, which I'm very proud of myself for. I figure if I open these gifts today, I will only have a few presents to open on my birthday. I don't really care about getting gifts. Although I appreciate each and every one!!

It's hearing from my friends and family that really thrill me. I save most of the birthday budget for my youngest since watching her open gifts and seeing the joy in her eyes is worth more to me than anything else in this world.

I hope to be getting my tattoo. I was chickening out last week because hubby didn't want me to get it where I wanted to get it but he's coming around. I really don't want it anywhere else on my body and it's not a stamp by any means. It symbolizes my sobriety and the fact that I've survived my addictions. It's my 10 year milestone! It's a big deal to me and he will probably be the only one besides the tattoo artist who will ever see it. I hope I still have the nerve to go through with it next week!!

Now, lets hope that I can get through the weekend without tearing into these gifts. Three are for me and two are for youngest daughter. It's going to be hard to wait but I think it'll be worth it if I (we) do or can!! :) Thanks to our wonderful friend in California who I love dearly. You're the best and we can't wait to see what you sent us!!TraceyTreasurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10175981627284967050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6622613443059512899.post-52090015348410503672008-07-09T08:26:00.001-07:002008-07-09T14:58:22.044-07:00All My PetsI was thinking about all the pets I've had in my life and I'm going to try to list them all.

Martin the Desert Tortoise. I was a baby and don't remember him much.

My Bird. My parents were Deacons in the Presbyterian Church when I was very little. I was taught to pray for whatever I wanted. I prayed for a bird and I found one on the grass in our front yard one day when I was playing. It was a baby and it had fallen out of it's nest. I told my mom that God had answered my prayers and given me a bird. My parents wouldn't let me keep it. They taught it how to fly and I never saw it again. I was about 5 years old. I still consider it one of my pets even though I didn't get to keep it or name it.

Oliver the Basset Hound. He lived until he was 16 1/2 years old. He was the closest thing I've had to a brother.

I had a pet rock! Yes, the popular ones from the 70's. The book of instructions was my favorite part. They were hysterical.

Buns the Bunny. He was a Dutch Miniature Rabbit. Oliver wanted to eat him/her.

Dave the Bird. He was a blue Canary and he would bite me when I tried to feed him. I hated him for biting me.

Hey Dude the Cat. He found me when I was at a very low time in my life. My parents divorced, my uncle had just committed suicide, my great grandmother died, and we had to have Oliver put to sleep. I opened the front door one day and saw a cat there and I said "Hey Dude" and he stayed with my mom long after I had moved out. He died in 1997 and he's buried in my mom's back yard.

Ashton and Taz the Black Cats. They were brothers and Ashton was actually my roommates but she moved out and couldn't take Ashton so I kept the two together as long as I could. They disappeared in Northern California somewhere.

Luke the Dog. My husband's dog when we got married. He was a pit bull mix.

Misha, Berber and Homer were all my husband's cats when we got married. One of our old neighbors shot Misha and Homer when they were in our yard and I will never forgive him for killing Misha and injuring Homer for life. They were our babies before our babies.

Eddie Vedder and another frog. Mine was named Eddie Vedder because he would sing (croak) at night. He jumped out of my husband's hands while my hubby was cleaning the cage and he jumped to his death. My hubby got rid of him before I had a chance to say "Good-bye" Hubby didn't want me to see him dead. :(

Onyx the Black Cat. She was the meanest thing I'd ever seen. She would attack the kids and pull a Freddie Kruger on their backs with her nails. I had her declawed. She died this past April at home due to kidney failure or the food that I was feeding her that starts with an I. I can't prove it was the food. I called her "Sweet, Lovey, Kitten" because I have been known to be sarcastic!

Spike the Horned Toad. He was cool!

Thompsonite the Cat. "Thom Cat" for short. ATE EVERYTHING HE COULD GET HIS MOUTH ON. The cat really needed a dog's stomach. He passed away too soon and he will always be loved and missed. He taught our youngest how to crawl. He would push a ball with his paw and she'd go after it. I've never seen anything like it!

Mama's Bunny. A cottontailed bunny that I nursed (not literally) back to health. We found it in our yard when it was about 2 weeks old. I let it go when it was too big to be owl food. He/she had a million names but it will always be MY bunny!

Jack Sparrow the Dog. Went to the pound to "look" for a dog after our vacation in '06. Jack joined our family that Friday. The love we share with him is mutual. He's woman's best friend. He's quirky, loyal, wonderful....He's a working dog. We are thankful for him every day.

Zelda the Turtle. She's more work than the frogs were but I love her. She was so cute as a baby but she resembles something prehistoric these days. She is loved.

Spot the Fish. My first fish, didn't live long in a bowl. We've had many, many fish and we have many, many now. The feeder fish I bought for Zelda are almost big enough to fry up for dinner but that would freak the kids out so I just keep feeding the feeder fish......Jeesh!! Too many to name! I didn't list Max and Zeke as mine because they are our daughter's pets. They will list them in their own posts when they grow up.

These are the animals that have touched my life. What animals have touched your life? If you'd like to make this a meme, let me know by leaving me a comment. I'd love to hear about them!TraceyTreasurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10175981627284967050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6622613443059512899.post-34399064555196702952008-07-08T19:12:00.000-07:002008-07-08T19:48:39.691-07:00Sorry For The Sucky Posts! So sorry for all the sucky posts lately. Working and Summer have really cut into my blogging time.

I got these pictures from an email in April. I saved the pictures for a post and now I'm ready to share them with you.

I think this stove is great! It reminds me of when one of the burners on my stove caught on fire in April. I don't know if this is a real stove. I don't think it is!

I love this doorknob!

This is a great idea for storage space. My youngest daughter and I have birthdays on the 17th. I'll be 42 and she'll be turning 6! My dad will be visiting the following weekend and I'm planning a neighborhood barbecue at my house. I'll be busy but in a good way.

I'll be catching up with all of my favorite people! I'll be seeing you real soon!
Have a great day! BUT...THE...

ANSWER, BABY: The band is Shiny Toy Guns, the song itself is called Le Disko

I love Wikipedia and WikiAnswers. They are my new best friends. I have been trying to find this video for about a year.

I looked for the song I posted yesterday for about 2 hours. I thought it sounded like Beck so I listened to the last two albums of his via You Tube yesterday and I finally found it through, Saturn, I think. I heard it on one of their commercials and I might have to buy a Saturn. I love that song!

Well, I feel like I've won the lottery because someone answered my question on WikiAnswers.
