Ok - enough about Friday. Let's talk about today. I'm hosting a fun new challenge at SM that started TODAY. You have all month to finish it! It's my first in the "Everyday Magic" challenge series that I'll be bringing you every other Monday, and basically your challenge is to scrap "a day in the life" page. I toted my camera around with my last Thursday and what I thought was going to be a boring day, actually turned out to be a lot of fun to record! I think our everday average memories are just as cherished as the big events. Here is my page.

{the littlest brother}

Since its Cameron's birthday this week, I decided I would scrap him next for my 52 Blessings project. He's my littlest brother, but as he is turning SIXTEEN this week, he's not really little anymore. You can see in the picture that he is taller than me. I'm officially the shortest and oldest sibling. WEIRD. I knew it would happen some day but its still weird.

So that's my blessing today. :) This is my 24th week!! I'm almost half-way done. CRAZY. Time is flying by.

Alright so, one of my Britt Girls, Paige, is pretty much the most amazing woman ever. She made Halloween/October Gift Baskets for all her neighbors (keep in mind she just recently moved in, was evacuated with the hurricanes, and is just barely getting back into the swing of normal life - yeah she's like Super Mom). But I had to show off her work here because she used my new "A Halloween Nightmare" kit to decorate her baskets!!

I know right?!! Don't you wish you lived in Paige's neighborhood!?

And on top of all that, she also scrapped this adorable LO with the kit too.

Paige - even though you make me look like a total slob and slacker, you seriously RULE.

Yes! I carved that Bewitched pumpkin all on my own! Isn't it awesome?! It had to be supported with some clever toothpick support beams, and once the pumpkin softened it was all over. But it was cute while it lasted!! It's my favorite pumpkin I've ever carved.

This week my blessing LO is my little brother, Scotty. He is serving a mission for our church right now in Antofagasta, Chile right now! I am so proud of him, but of course I miss him too!

Isn't he so cute? I have good looking brothers. His mission is going really well for anyone who is interested. He's so positive and energetic about all his work. He's a great missionary!

We watched the season premiere of the Amazing Race tonight! I'm SO EXCITED that its back on!!! Josh and I LOVE the Amazing Race. We like to pretend we are on it and have gone all the places that they go. I know - we're big nerds. I keep saying I need to get in shape so we can apply to be on it! We'd totally win a million dollars! HAHA

One last little thing. I took a little type test, to see how fast I type. I have no idea if this is an accurate test or what my results even mean really, but it was fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCRAP MATTERS!!!

Today we are beginning the 1st Birthday Celebration for my digi-scrap home, ScrapMatters.com! It's hard to believe that its been an entire year already since we first opened up our little shop. But look how we've grown!

Well - you're here on your 3rd stop on the Birthday Blog Train. If you're following the train, you just came from Andrea's blog and now you've arrived here in Utah!

At each stop on our Birthday Blog train we'll be telling you about a birthday tradition that we enjoy! One thing my family does for birthdays is to sing 'Happy Birthday' in what has become known as "Rodee-style" (Rodee is my maiden name). What is "Rodee-style" you ask? Well - no one in the Rodee family is particularly talented in the singing department, so instead of struggling through an akward attempt at singing nicely, we just started singing "Happy Birthday" in the most horrible off key bizarre way possible. It's pretty awful sounding but ALWAYS cracks up the birthday boy or girl. We've been doing it for YEARS. I can't even remember when it started, but its a lot of fun! It just gets more awful sounding, louder, and crazier as the years go by. We used to not sing Rodee-style in front of anyone that wasn't family, but in the last year a few 'out-siders' have witnessed "Rodee-style" and we even sang it in a RESTAURANT this summer for Josh's birthday! THAT WAS SO EMBARRASSING AND TOTALLY NOT MY IDEA!!!!

ScrapMatters is now doing two speed scraps a week. One daytime, and one evening. This week I was able to do both!!

I've been pulling out the older photos these days, from when Josh and I were still dating! It's so fun to see them. :) And I know someday our kids will enjoy looking at them too.

Life's been busy lately! Monday I did a quick photo shoot with my friend Leslie and her family. They are in town from Denver. It was fun to take their pictures. You can see a few on my photo blog if you want.

Straight after that Josh and I went out to dinner and then back home to watch the season premiere of Heroes! For those of you who don't know, Josh's aunt, Cristine Rose, plays Angela Petrelli on Heroes so we were ESPECIALLY excited about the premier. Her role is really blowing up and we couldn't be more proud or excited!

Then yesterday we (a few of my girlfriends from high school) met Leslie for lunch. We haven't hung out for a long time so we ended up gabbing and having a THREE HOUR lunch! haha We could chat all day if we had the time! Then it was home to finish cranking out my GRAB BAG for this Friday!! Yes, I'm releasing a grab bag on Friday! WOO HOO!! It's to celebrate ScrapMatters' 1st Birthday!! We're having a little party.

I can't believe its already been a year since we opened. We've grown so much! It's totally exciting!! :)

Tonight I'm meeting my family for dinner and then we're going to the temple. We try and go all together once a month, but it doesn't always happen. But I'm glad we are going tonight. It will be fun!

I have two little announcements to make for ScrapMatters.

1) We have a ROCKIN' new designer starting up today. She has been delayed for a couple weeks due to a computer problem, but she's FINALLY back on track and premiering TODAY and I couldn't be more excited! And she's having a big sale on her stuff to celebrate her arrival! So, please help me welcome JenLin Designs to ScrapMatters!!

I know her ad says she's opening tomorrow but she got so excited she opened up shop TODAY! Her stuff is GORGEOUS so have fun browsing and shopping.

and 2) there's a speed scrap TONIGHT. 7:00 Mountain Time. I think I can go to Josh's soccer game and make it back to Speed Scrap too!

Wow. So many of you left such nice comments and sent such nice emails. It's good to know that I have SO MANY people in my corner! Thank you so so much. And just to let you know, I'm totally over all that cyber-bully drama. It's not worth letting a few meanies ruin all the fun. I decided to just get over and throw myself into my next kit. Well - the weekend is about over.

This weekend I:

- kicked off my New Couch Fundraiser
- went to lunch and to see "The Women" with my mom and Aunt (meh - so so movie BTW)
- went to dinner with my parents and brother at the Hot Dog King
- went to my other brother's football game
- went to a baby shower an hour and a half away
- scrapped a little
- got publicly dissed (and then publicly stood up for) on a forum
- went to church
- attempted to help entertain FIFTEEN 1 to 3 year olds for 2 hours
- had yummy spaghetti dinner at my parents
- played domnioes

So, it was a good (and slightly random) weekend. I'm exhausted.

Look at my trip countdown ticker!! It says THREE WEEKS now. Ok I know, three weeks and six days but THREE weeks sound so much closer than 4!! Woo hoooooo! I seriously can't wait.

Here is my blessing LO for today. For those who don't know - each Sunday for 1 year I scrap a blessing. At the end of the year I'll make a "52 Blessings Book". It's been an awesome project. Many of you mention that you want to start at the new year and do this. I say - start now!! I didn't start at the beginning of the year. I think I started in like April! It doesn't matter when your year starts and stops. Start it now if you want to do it!!

Yeah - so that was a fun adventure.

I took the "From Our Blog to Yours" quiz at SSD. It's a quiz called "How Real Are You". After I read the questions, I expected to get a low score, not because I'm a fake person but because I don't have a lot of confidence, I keep to myself and I'm not talkative, open and social with people. So - here are my results. They are surprisingly accurate. I don't like that they use the word "Real". It makes it seem like I'm fake. I think a more accurate term for the quiz would be "How Open Are You?"

I've been crazy busy - but not with anything very exciting to report! I've been workin' hard new products for Friday and I think you're going to love them! I LOVE them anyway! I'll give you a little sneaky peek!

So - at ScrapMatters we are going to start having TWO Speed Scraps a week from now on!! One evening one, as usual, and now one daytime one as well!! This week's evening one was last night - I wasn't able to do it. I was off teaching a group of women from my mom's church about how to start a family blog! Yes - they asked ME to come teach them how to make a blog and also a little bit about Digital Scrapbooking. I was really nervous, but it ended up being a really fun night. Anyway, I digress . . .

Tomorrow afternoon there is a speed scrap!

So - thats 3:00pm Eastern, 2:00 Central, 1:00 Mountain and 12 noon Pacific. I'm totally there - hope you guys can come too!

This is a remake of an older LO I did. I am starting to have all my pages printed and I'm putting them into albums now. And I pulled this old one up and was aghast!! There was no way I was printing it. It HAD to have a makeover. I LOVE the new one and will be proud to print it now. Sometimes you just have an off day and scrap something not-so-cute. But the great thing about digi is - you can just just RE DO IT!

I'm really loving this project. I think I say that every week. But its just really fun. It will be awesome when its all done.

Here are a few LOs I've done this past week.

This one is for the Saturday Special challenge at ScrapMatters. It's about scrapping the places you've lived so you can remember them and show your posterity! It's a fun challenge. I scrapped my huge kitchen we had at our old house. I miss how big it was!!

This one I pulled out some older pics of my nephew! I forget he was this little!! I used Mira Designs' brand new kit "Whooo Loves Fall?" This kit is AWESOME!

We had a fun night at my mom and dad's tonight. We go there every Sunday for dinner. We had dinner, watched America's Funniest Home Videos (we watch it every week, its become a tradition) and then we played "Five Crowns". It's a fun card game. I came in last place but oh well!! Then Josh fixed mom and dad's computer while I looked for old photos to take home to scan. We were there for a long time!! But we're home now, tired and ready for bed. Signing off.

Another week of bad blogging! Mostly that's because nothing exciting is going on! Just the same old same old. Work, scrap, work, scrap.

We had beading beauties this week though. That was very fun! I decided it was just too gorgeous outside to sit indoors. So I set up tables out on our patio and we beaded into the evening. I made a big chunky funky necklace that I think I'm going to sell (if you're interested email me) **EDITED** This necklace is sold!! :) but I'll be doing more if you're interested so check back. It's sized small for teens or young girls.

Very Hannah Montana, High School Musical, Camp Rock. Or Cruella Deville according to Tami! haha I have lots of these beads leftover and I seriously HAVE to make myself something out of them! I LOVE how it turned out!! It was a very fun night! Everyone made cute stuff! It had been a while since we'd gotten together and I'm so glad we did!

Well - as the subject suggests, I have a peek at my new kit coming out tomorrow!! Hope you love it as much as I do!

There was a speed scrap at SM last night! It was hosted by the lovely, Denise, and she did a fabulous job! I LOVE how my LO came out!

Speed scrapping is so fun! I'm totally addicted. AND I'm happy to announce that next week we're bumping our Speed Scraps up to two a week. One daytime, and one evening session. Usually they will be on different days. Two in one day gets hairy! Watch this forum. That's where they'll announce the times and dates for next week.

Josh has a soccer game, and I have a photo shoot tonight. So - we're off on our own adventures. :) We are a little connected at the hip. We like to do things together mostly. But I'm glad he's found a soccer team and is having fun. And I'm excited to take pictures of my friend's little boy! It will be fun.

So my blessing is a day late. Oops. Oh well. At least I'm keeping caught up!

I got to see my grandparents at my parents' house for dinner last night. We love having them! They have to drive almost an hour and a half to get there, but they just like eating with us! They have a standing invitation to join us every week! We love having them.

Two weeks ago for dinner they turned up in these old tee shirts that my mom made for them when I was a baby!! Yes, that is my baby picture on them. I couldn't believe they still had them! It was so funny!! They are a hoot!

Well - thats it from me today. Josh is home early from work and we're watching Ferris Beuller's Day Off. Gosh I love that movie. See ya.

Wide Open Spaces

Hello and Happy Friday to one and all! Whoa. I've been a bad blogger this week. Whoops!

~ Melissa ~ She scrapped TWO! Another totally cool color scheme drawn straight from the photos! LOVE THAT! She flipped the template and totally made it her own. I LOVE it.

And on this one I LOVE the bold red and shades of blue. Beautiful title work as well!!

~ Paige ~ Wonderful, awesome wacky Paige! I LOVE the pictures, the journal strips, the colors. This just ROCKS my world!

~ Erica ~ She ROCKED my latest kit "Fairchild" on this LO! I LOVE the way she used the template. And that hanging A. FABULOUS.

~ Kate ~ I LOVE how she used up ALL her negative space telling the story! So cute! Love those animals by Happy Scrap Girl too!

~ Emily ~ Love the colors she used and the fonts and glittery alpha she created from clipping a glitter paper to her font! SO AWESOME!
