So since I am really bad at keeping a journal these days I thought I would use the blog for this! I too am also contemplating going private now that the little one is on it's way! I am going to decide in the next few weeks so if you read my blog and want to still read it let me know and comment on my blog so I can add your email to my approved readers.

So this weekend really did me in more than I thought! Yesterday I went into work for a few hours because I had site tours and then I came home and literally stayed in bed and slept all afternoon till it was bedtime...then I couldn't sleep and I was uncomfortable and just felt weird! I finally fell asleep around 1am and then woke up all night! The one thing with being pregnant is I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and then I am up for an hour or two just lying here thinking about everything! Is this Gods way of preparing me to waking up in the night with the baby??? I don't know but so not something I am use to! I have also noticed that my memory isn't that great! I forget things really easily! That is frustrating! I really hate it when I go to do something and I can't remember for the life of me what I was doing and why I was doing it?

Today I stayed home from work because I am still exhausted and don't feel 100% and DO NOT want to get sick! I think I will be fine after today but I have to stop pushing myself so much! It is really hard for me but I have to do it!!!

Also...I some how connected my blog to my facebook page and now it post on there! Does anyone know how to delete it? I don't want my blog posting on my facebook page and I have to keep deleting it just as soon as I do a post!

Happy Belated 4th of July

Well this year we didn't really get to celebrate the 4th of July~ :(
I had a huge wedding at Kunde Winery and it was pretty intense. I had the opportunity to work with a fabulous wedding planner Sasha Souza. It was a pretty amazing event and I learned a lot. It was a long weekend however! Friday I worked from 8:30am-9pm and Saturday I worked from 8am-11pm. It was pretty intense and it is funny even though I am pregnant sometimes I forget that and I still try to work as hard as I normally do and do the things I normally would do but this weekend was pretty hard on me! I have been on the sofa most of the today because I am so physically and mentally exhausted. I just can't do anything. I know it is ok to lay around all day but if you know me you know that I work so hard and I hate laying around but today I just gave into it. I had to. I have to take care of myself and cutie. This week I am really going to take it easy as I have another wedding this coming weekend on Saturday.

So I was kinda bummed we didn't get to BBQ and have people over for the 4th. Usually since we have moved here my mom and dad come over for the 4th and we BBQ and then watch the fireworks in our front yard. Next year I can't wait to take cutie to the 4th of July parade in Sonoma and to the All American BBQ and watch the bands! It will be fun! I really love the fact that Sonoma reminds me so much of Small Town America and the entire community gets into the holiday! I left the wedding yesterday briefly to go home and get a coat as it was getting really cool and I could not believe all the people in their front yards bbqing and partying it was like a town party! It was so cool! Normally I never see that because we stay at our house and bbq and don't deal with all of that but it was neat to see! I can't wait for next year!!!

CUTIE

As you can see "CUTIE" is on his or her side...so you have to turn the computer to your left to see him or her! If you turn him or her to your right he/she looks like a rubber ducky! Maybe that will be her/his favorite toy! Anyway....this is 7 weeks and 3 days!!!!
Mommy is doing great! Feeling fabulous other than tired but so far so good! This pregnancy is a piece of cake....may change as time goes on but I really do feel good!
A few things Nick and I have discussed lately! Names....Boy Names...Girl Names....hmmm really don't have any I am sure we will think of some and that will change a million times between now and the arrival of "CUTIE" but nothing that we love just yet. Finding out what we are having...I want to know sooooooooo bad since I am a planner and all I really want to know! I want to buy things that are boy/girl specific and not just yellow or green. I want to decorate the nursery too! Nick says NO he says that it is the only surprise in life and wants to be surprised when "CUTIE" is born.....AYE AYE AYE....I have to work on him as I really want to find out and if any of you know me it will kill me not to know but I think that is part of the fun for Nick......HMMMMM
So on July 21st we go for another doctor visit and I get another sonogram! I love it that my doctor is giving us so many! This will be our 3rd! Whoo hooo!!! Nick wishes we could get pictures every week and I told him we aren't Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise! :)

So...I know I have been the WORST blogger lately but it is just so hard to find the time! It is wedding season and I am busier then ever...! While wondering about what to blog about and what it is I thought you all should know about this I came across this poem!

YES THAT IS RIGHT!! NICK AND I ARE EXPECTING!!!!!! I am a little over 8 weeks pregnant and we got to see little "cutie" this past week and he/she heartbeat was 156beats per minute and the doctor said we are doing fabulous!!!! Nick and I cannot be more thrilled!!! The Dolata Family is growing! I feel fabulous and haven't had an ounce of morning sickness so I think I am almost out of the woods for that! Other than being really tired so far this is a piece of cake! I am so excited to share our news with everyone!!!

I hope you all are doing well and I will post a photo of the baby soon! I just have to get it on my computer from the phone!!!

Truffles Goes to the Vet~

So Truffles has been acting a little strange for the last few months so Nick and I decided it was time for her to go see the Vet....I have had Truffles for a long time 10 years and I wanted to make sure she is a happy, healthy kitty! I am sure some of this has to do with the fact that we have LouLee now and she isn't the only cat in the house but none the less it is off to Dr. Forsythe we go...
As you can see by the photo she doesn't LOVE riding in the car!!
However....she loved exploring the Dr's office! She really liked her doctor!!!
She especially loved the little cut out in the cat bed and she jumped into the garbage can and sat there and stared at us! It was pretty hilarious! She did a great job! She needs her teeth cleaned and had to have her shots but other than that she is doing A-Ok...she is back to her spunky self and loves to hisss at LouLee!
Ok...I know I need to get a life! I am blogging about my cats! HA HA I am sure things will get more exciting in the coming post I HOPE!

I went up to Reno for Cassi's 2nd birthday! It was so much fun! Cassidy turned 2 years old and Dominic and Cassi are only a few weeks apart! They are so cute together too! You would think they were brother and sister!
After the party we had another fabulous Dinner at Gary's house!! Nick wasn't able to come as he started his new job and couldn't take the day off so I drove up for the day and dinner and came back! It was so nice to be with my family again!!!

In April Nick and I went up to Reno for Dominic's 2nd Birthday! Dominic is my cousin Kristin and Bo's son! We had such a great time celebrating his 2nd birthday and eating delicious cupcakes!!!
After Dom's birthday party we went over to Little Gary's for Dinner. It was a great weekend with our family! Happy 2nd Birthday Dom!!! We love you!!!!

I'm Just Not That Into You Lately.......

Ok...so I am just not that into blogging lately? I don't know why? I think I am overwhelmed with all this "SOCIAL MEDIA" lately...there is just too much of it and we have so gotten away from "REAL" contact with people such as meeting for coffee to catch up ...a happy hour or maybe just a nice walk to talk? With all this technology it seems we are getting away from that because we can stay "connected" via facebook, twitter, blogs etc......it is all so weird in some ways! Granted I love blogging and facebooking but it is time consuming and again it puts me back in front of a computer yet again as if I don't have enough computer time every day.

So lately the last thing I really want to do is BLOG....however...here is a little update on us.....I promise to try to blog at least once a week....

Nick got a new job click here to see where he is working. He is the General Manager! I am so proud of him!!!
I quit my job here and my last day is June 6th. I am sad but it is time for me to move on and really pursue my dream click here to see what that is.
I got tickets to the season finale of this show but didn't get to go for family reasons. I was disappointed but hopefully will be able to go again.
Nick and I did a hard hat tour a few weeks ago of this new resort in Lake Tahoe. We made reservations for the opening night!!!
We have been here twice in the last month to celebrate Dominic and Cassidy's 2nd Birthday's

I really can't stand this American Idol Contestant

Ok...so I think that is what has been up with us for the last month or so! I know not too exciting but it is all I have....

Where has the time gone?

Not sure if anyone is still out there or if anyone still reads my blog ? I have been such a bad blogger but I haven't had too much to write about.

Here is a little re-cap of what has been going on over the last couple weeks or so....

About 2 weeks ago my dad had open heart surgery. Yes...this all came as a huge shock to all of us as he went in for ankle surgery and then a few days later was in the emergency with chest pains and shortness of breath...after many test and every day something new was developing we found out that dad's lower Mitro Valve in his heart was torn and needed to be repaired. So he was transferred to Mercy Hospital in Sacramento where he would wait to have his surgery! Karyn and Addison flew out too, to be with all of us so it was so great to have her and Addison here and Papa (dad) loved seeing them too! We missed the rest of her family but Anson stayed with the girls so Ashley could stay in school! Dad's heart surgery went amazingly well! They had to do a little more than they thought but he had an amazing Doctor and made it through with flying colors!

Dad is now staying with Nick and I. He is resting, excercising and going on Sonoma town tours in his wheelchair with Nick every morning. Yes, you heard it correctly ....Nick walks with Dad in the mornings and then I found out he puts him in the wheelchair and they go for about a 3 mile ride around Sonoma! Dad is just loving it! We are loving him being here too! I still can't believe that tomorrow will be 2 weeks since his surgery and he is doing so great.

We also bought a new car about a week ago! We bought a Nissan Murano and I am just loving it!!! It is so fun to drive and isn't too big. It is just the perfect size! I love it! I highly recommend one if you are in the market for a "crossover" as that is what they are called now! :) :)

Other than that...nothing else is really new. Nick and I are doing really good! Nick's job is going fabulous and he loves being in the city...(not the commute so much) but loves the energy of San Francisco and the restaurant! Jason Preistly had dinner there a few weeks ago! I was a die hard 90210 fan so anytime I hear of a cast member from 90210 I get so excited!!!

My job is going good! Wedding season is right around the corner! It is hard to believe we have been in Sonoma for 3 years!!! Where does the time go? We have truly grown to love the wine country and all that it has to offer! We are especially loving this amazing spring weather, the green hills and the mustard through out all the vineyards! It is such a beautiful place!!!

Well...that is all! Hopefully one of these days we will do something with pictures and i will have something to post with pictures! :) :)

We had to check out all the restaurants for Nick! He was like a kid in a candy store with all his favorite Chefs!!! He was checking out all the furniture, carpet, decor and menus! Can you see my husband dreaming of the day he gets to open his own restaurant!! I just love his passion for the industry and how bad he wants it!! He loves the industry! You have to love that passion!!

So we had such a great time! Everyone that we went with were friends of mine from all over the United States! Vik and Eric came from NYC...we met while I was living in NYC and we worked together at The Ritz-Carlton Battery Park!

Clay & Ashley came from Salt Lake City, UT. Ashley and I met when I opened the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch! She was one of our trainers and we just hit it off and since the time we met in 2002 I think we have been on 10+ vacations together!

Lauren and Jason came from Sac Town! Lauren and I met my Senior year of College and have been friends ever since! She actually drove with me to Colorado when I moved there!

All of these friends met at our wedding in September and they all hit it off at the wedding and now we travel together! It is amazing how people come together and people bring others together! I am so fortunate for all my friends in my life and so happy to share my birthday week with all of you! I can't wait for New Orleans!! That is where we are headed next. XOXOXOXOXO!!!

Ok...so I follow a few blogs and this post was just posted on the Bachelorette Boutique! I just love Kris and how candid she is and just lays it out so great! I couldn't have written this better........it is also humerous too! That is what I love about her!!! So here it is....

The economy is no reason not to give...

First off, this is not a political protest. It's a people protest. I'm an American girl and love this country. I pray every night for the lives of those fighting in the war(on both sides) whether I agree with it or not. BUT I'm tired of us forgetting what's important.

I hear it EVERYWHERE...the economy sucks. I totally agree with that. But in true Kris Bush fashion and passion, I've got something to say about how we're handling the situation.

Come on boys and girls. Let's get out of our SUVs and cute little gas guzzlers(which started depreciating the second we drove them off the lot) and look past our own windshields. Did you know every 3 SECONDS a child in Africa dies due to various health issues because they have a virtually invisible economy? I'm not asking for you to agree with me on this or pull out your check book , but just to think about it. We complain about gas prices to fill up our vehicles when there are people in this world that just want their child, mother, father,sister, brother to just LIVE and can't even imagine having ANY kind of transportation.

Now, if you're reading this and have something against comparing our country to other countries...that's ok too. Let's talk about what a ME focused country and society we've become. What's your credit card debt look like? If you have none, give yourself a celebratory pat on the ass...because you ROCK!

If you are like the millions of us who do have some debt think about this: You bought something with money you don't have, but thought you may have money later on to pay for it all. Think about how crazy that sounds. And no matter how we slice it, we didn't spend it on others. Now if you're saying "I bought it for so and so" you still bought it to portray an image you can't pay for. In essence, you wrote a check your butt couldn't cash. What happened to people liking others for who they are and not just what they have or any other material presence. Seriously. Yes ladies, I love my cute shoes. I love my handbags even more...but I just feel we need to take a moment and decipher between WANTS and NEEDS.

Before my grandmother passed, she told me stories about the Depression. She said women couldn't afford pantyhose then, so they would take a piece of coal and draw a line up the back of their bare legs to give the appearance that they were wearing seamed hosiery. And they couldn't afford make up, so they'd pinch their cheeks to get some color and suck on lemons to make their lips red. Oh, and as far as food went? Yeah, they would eat meat only on Sundays, because they couldn't afford it the other days of the week. But just because things were bad for them, they didn't forget about others outside their home.

People during the Depression tried the best they could to help each other out. If they had kids that had out grown shoes and the neighbor kid needed new shoes, the neighbor kid got them. You can always give SOMETHING to those less fortunate...

Don't believe me? Did you eat a meal out this week(coffee, lunch, dinner)? Did you buy ANYTHING that you didn't need in order to physically live(wine, beer, cigarettes, chocolate,manicure, pedicure,waxing) or maybe something you could have down-graded(you super-sized anything, bought a 20 oz anything when 8 oz would have been just fine). Or maybe you cooked too much and the left overs spoiled in the fridge... there are people (yes even in America)who would fight for that food. Some don't even know what it's like to have enough food to give to the family dog, and they certainly can't imagine throwing food away.

Ok, let's say you're flat broke. If you are reading this, you're evidently breathing and that's verification to me you have a heart, so use it. There are plenty of local organizations that would value your time probably even more than ANY amount of money. When you give, something happens in your heart that no amount of money can replace. Believe me, I've scooped a ton of kitty litter for abused and battered cats and walked many miles for the Alzheimer's foundation for no pay and loved doing that more than any job I've ever had. Now, for all of you who are still resisting and doing your taxes right now, let me remind you that certain donations are also tax deductible... all the more reason to volunteer.

I think in these times we've got 2 choices. We can be a ME nation or a WE nation. And I've got faith in us...

So I know I haven't blogged to much lately but we really haven't had a lot going on to blog about!

Last week for some weird reason I was on the hunt for one of these beauties!!

Yes....A Schwinn Fair Lady Banana Seat Bike! I want a pink one like I use to have when I was 5!

I even had this beautiful basket that was on my pink Fair Lady...I have yet to find a pink one! I keep finding the blue one but if I find the pink one you can bet I am going to purchase it! This is my mission right now! Don't ask me why? I just think sometimes there are things from your childhood you wish you would have held on to and this is one of them!!

I will let you know if I find one!!

Ok..So I have NOTHING to blog about! I know me...a loss for words?

Not too much is going on here in Sonoma!

Work is good...I have been extremely busy despite the bad economy so I am counting my blessings!

Married life is oh~so~fabulous! I love being married! I love my husband and I am so happy to have our simple life here in Sonoma!

We have been looking at cars. I really hate car shopping but love it when I get in the dealership and start negotiating however right now I really don't want to buy a car so we just may keep the car we have and wait for awhile.

I am going to Reno next weekend (hopefully if the weather allows) for my cousin Gary's 30th Birthday! I can't wait to go up and spend the weekend with my cousins! Nick and I don't get to see them enough so this will be fun!

I just booked a trip to Vegas! Yes, Vegas...I haven't been in probably 5 or 6 years maybe longer...we are going out for my birthday and my friends Eric and Viktoria are flying out from NYC, Clay and Ashley are flying out from Salt Lake City and Lauren & Jason are flying with us! So it should be a fun weekend for all of us with great restaurants and LOVE oh and maybe a little bit of shopping...I have to help stimulate the economy! HA HA HA.....

Other than that not too much is going on with us!

Just About Had It!!!!

So as an American there are a few rights we have one of which is freedom of speech and in this blog post I am going to use this right!!!

I have just about had it with our country right now! I was flabbergasted today when I clicked on CNN.COM and saw that once again the good ol' US of A is bailing these banks and companies out once again! I think it is an absolute JOKE! I am so over it and I can't believe as Americans we aren't doing something about this other than saying sure we will start the printing press and just give you another 816 billion dollars like it is no big deal! We have CRIMINALS running these corporations and taking advantage of these bail outs! We haven't fired these CEO's that got us into this mess! We haven't made them be accountable for what they have done and we are encouraging their behavior by once again in less than a year we are giving them another stimulus, bailout etc....!!! I am so livid right now! I am held to a certain standard and expectations day in and day out in my job and here we have companies buying 50 million dollar private jets redesigning there office to the tune of a million dollars and getting a bonus when the company is not profitable? Clearly something is WRONG! For all I care these CEO's can ride the greyhound bus! I don't think they should get anything! NO bonus, NO corporate jet and maybe an office in the basement with no windows would encourage them to do something about their declining companies! Never in my life was I ever taught that you are rewarded when you do something wrong or aren't successful! Oh I can just go on and on and on.....but I truly have had it and I just had to vent about it!

Oh...and they only want the post office to deliver 4 days a week now! Maybe if there was no JUNK mail they would only have to deliver "REAL MAIL" one day a week! Who knows...I am over it!

Maybe if we get back to the basics and aren't a society of greed and always wanting more things would be different! We just have way too much in this country! A lot of other nations get by with so much less than what we have and it seems to work!

Ok...I am done venting! Sorry.....there are just a lot of Americans paying the price for these idiots while they sit in their million dollar offices fly on there 50 million dollar jets and get bonuses more than any of us could fathom.

History Has Been Made! YES We Can!!!

Regardless of your political belief...today History has been made and I don't think anyone could believe what we all witnessed! What a day for our country, nation and world! I can't even begin to write what I was feeling this morning when I watched the Inauguration! Tears of JOY, HOPE and HAPPINESS are just a few words that come to mind! His speech was absolutely amazing! It is so great to have a leader that is so engaging and charismatic! It is a new day for America and we are faced with so many challenges! I do not envy President Obama but I know he is the right person for the job at the right time! I loved when he said "America is a friend of every Nation and we are ready to LEAD once MORE!" Moving!!!!
I am so proud to be an American today for so many reasons!! History was made today and I was alive to witness it! Unbelievable!!! For me today is the first day of the new YEAR! So Happy New Year and lets work together to bring our Country, The United States of America back to the TOP!!!
YES WE CAN!!!!!!

Ok...so I don't really blog too much about my job on my blog but there are a few times a year that I truly look forward to in my job! One of those is the event I am about to show you! Every year I host an event for Wedding and Event Professionals! I love putting it together because I get to design it and showcase the very best in the business in the greater bay area! Not to mention show off the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, Sonoma Golf Club and this year Benziger Family Winery! This year's event was over the top from years past but I really wanted to WOW everyone and I want them to have something fun and exciting to look forward to year after year! I never want it to be the same! So this is fun for me! I get to plan a big event that isn't a wedding and is oh-so-fun! The Fabulous Linens by LaTavola Fine Linen in Napa and the flowers were by Dandelion Floral Art the fabulous Richard and Dena (Dynamic Duo) designed the flowers and they were so pretty.

The Lighting was by Twilight Design! Jeff Mills and his team are the best in lighting and so fun and easy to work with!! I love the leafy lanterns around the perimeter of the room! Just adds a little something, something to the room!

The Red Carpet to greet everyone into the fabulous cave! The flowers were by Lauren Williams of Fleuressence Floral Design! The cave looked spectacular and was a pleasant surprise to everyone! We put them on a party bus and they had no idea where they were going! It was so fun! I love surprising people!!! We had a fabulous 4 course dinner catered by the wonderful chef's at The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa!

This is not another year of broken promises and resolutions! It is a love issue!

My Goal..........Weight......TBD I want to know what the right weight for me is at my age and height. What I want and what my body should be are probably two different things so I am going to pull out my weight watchers information from last year to find out where they say I should be!

I want to lose weight with out spending money on diets! I want to change my lifestyle!

I am dedicated to losing weight without spending money except for on food!!

What do I really want????????? This is going to be a question I will keep asking????? I don't have the answer right now!

What Journey Might you Ask?

For most of my life and childhood weight has been a huge issue for ME!

I wasn't blessed with a fabulous metabolism and the ability to eat whatever I want.

Over the years I have tried every diet known to man except for maybe Jenny Craig and I have had some successes and had some defeats! Weight has been a HUGE struggle in my life and often something I joke about because it is hard and it is something I have never really won the battle against. I feel so fortunate that today I turned on the TV...BAGLE in hand with cream cheese (not lite) and watched my recorded Oprah! It was about her weight issues and her struggles...I couldn't relate more! Since the wedding I have gained back all my weight that I worked so hard (at least in my mind) for 2 years to lose (mind you I went off and on diets in those 2 years) but did manage to lose 27lbs and they are pretty much all back on! I am not happy with how I feel right now and how I look. I know I am not 400lbs but if I don't change my habits and my lifestyle I very well could be and I want to have a baby so that ads on weight!

So this year...I am going to give it my best. Today I am going to commit to this. I know there are going to be struggles, I know I will have good days and bad days but I have to do this for me. I wanted to blog about it so I am held accountable. I have tried so many different things and maybe to have encouragement, support, accountability etc...it will make this journey easier.

You may think it is weird that I blog about my weight and maybe even embarrassing but I want to make myself a priority and I want to hold myself accountable!

So...tonight I will have Nick take my photo and attach it to this post and I will try to blog as much as possible about what this journey is doing for me!

I am going to take time for me too and put myself first because I never take time for ME. I am always doing things for work and everyone else! I am putting myself on my PRIORITY LIST and I am going to plan! Wish me luck! I am a fabulous planner for my brides and friends but I don't plan for me or for Nick and I.

So I am stepping out of my comfort zone and I am going to do this!!!

Like anything in life change is hard. We all want it and say we can do it but truly I talk about it a lot and don't truly change or I start to and give up! There is a lot I think I am going to learn about myself too along this journey. I am really excited! I tend to be very successful in my professional career but sometimes my personal life suffers.

So here we go....I am jumping in, I have finished that bagel and I am committed to making a difference in my life and ME this year!!

We had such a great Christmas Day! It was so nice to be with family and good friends!

Nick as usual cooked an amazing Prime Rib dinner...the best I have ever had and I am not usually one for Prime Rib...it was scrumptious! We also had my favorite Yorkshire Pudding and Brussels Sprouts with Applewood Smoked Bacon and Sauteed Onions...DELISH

Finished off with Pecan Pie and homemade cinnamon nutmeg ice cream!

It was fantabulous!

We hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and Wish you all the very best in 2009!

I wanted to list the 10 things I am thankful for this year....
and what I hope for 2009

1. I am thankful that I married my best friend and the love of my life
2. I am thankful that I have such a wonderful family
3. I am thankful that my sister and I have become so much closer. I don't know what I would do without her and her family
4. I am thankful that even in hard times and the state of our world I still have so many things to be thankful for
5. I am thankful that so many of our family and friends were able to attend our wedding and spend such a wonderful weekend together
6. I am thankful that I have so many fabulous friends
7. I am thankful that I am in good health
8. I am thankful for my job and the friends I have made through work
9. I am thankful that every day I get to wake up and live in such a wonderful place
10. I am thankful for all the days I get to spend with my husband when we aren't working! I cherish each and every one of them!

This year
I wish....
That our economy can stabilize and that people won't keep losing their homes and jobs

I hope....
That we all may find an inner peace and be thankful for the little things in life and realize that life is more than who can have the most, the biggest or the best....it is about family, friends and the moments and times we share together

to give back to my community and do more volunteer work! I want to be more involved in the town I live in and make a difference in others lives!

Do the very best I can. I will cherish each and every day. I will find ways to make others smile. I will enjoy the little things in life.
