DSPORT R33 GT-R vs the YoParts R35 GT-R. The R35 got a bad start and Ed Bergenholtz let off. This was the best pass for the DSPORT R33 this day.&amp;#160; New Nitto drag radials were on the car. The NT05R. Very soft, big wide strip of rubber in the middle . The launches for the R33 were a little soft all day. Mike worked on it, but did not end up improving on this pass. According to the information in the booth, the car will be powered by a stroked VQ engine from a Nissan 350Z, and use a G-Force transmission. This will help keep the costs down, and will allow Dynamic Autosports to run a drift proven setup. This is my 12th year going to the show, and unlike most years, it is not bigger than the previous year. Its pretty obvious that traffic is lighter, and booth count is down. The exclusive Nissan GT-R SpecV models receive revised rear shock absorber settings, enhancing the characteristic combination of supple ride comfort and flat, predictable handling. In conjunction with this change, SpecV now comes standard with Dunlop tires. The previously standard Bridgestone tires are available as a factory-installed option. More suited to going around a track, than down a dragstrip, but if thats what they want to run, thats what they are going to run. All stock, well taken care of.&amp;#160; The previous owner dropped it off to us at Laguna Seca during the &lt;a href="http://gtrusa.blogspot.com/2009/10/scion-wins-first-professional-road-race.html"&gt;World Challenge weekend&lt;/a&gt;. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;This is the first time we had an extended drive in an R35 and its truly a rocket ship. 60 mph comes up before you know it. 70 mph passing on the freeway is just a tip into the throttle and you are moving at 90 mph.&amp;#160; The ride is firm, and the car tracks around on rough pavement, but its something we are used to from years of driving previous model GT-R’s.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;For now the first modifications are wheels, then we will have to decide the direction we want to go with the car. Things like headlights, tail lights , minor driveline things.&amp;#160; Don’t look for any &lt;a href="http://www.2009gtr.com/2009/08/inside-line-unboxing-infiniti-essence.html"&gt;Infiniti Essen&lt;/a&gt;ce type hybrid powertrains for 2013.&amp;#160; The R32 to R33 to R34 GT-R were evolutions rather than revolutions of the Skyline GT-R.
