Memorial Day 2009 Mexico Building Trip. This year we built Beginnings at Siempre Para Los Ninos. Beginnings will be a home at our Orphanage for infants. Our goal as usual is to give these Children the gift of "Siempre," always shelter, always food, always someone to love them. A man with a vision. Making sure its done right. What a weekend. A 2000 square foot building completed in 2 days thanks to an awesome group of workers. We are planning on housing up to 36 infants in the new addition at our orphanage.

Pray for Caleb. He is currently hiking the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail...Spans the west coast from Mexico to Canada). We are missing him at church and around town.

Stephanie and I have been married for 17 days. Our days have gone from swimming in waterfalls, surfing, and horseback riding to working and other normalcy over the past week. Life together is amazing, and I am reminded everyday how fortunate I am to have such a wonderful wife.

Five ways to be a good fan when your team is in a rut.

1. Focus on individual player stats and performances ("can you believe Justin Spier had four strike outs in two innings?") .
2. Watch the game until the 8th inning than turn off the tv before your team looses
3. Say things like, "it's still early in the season." (until the all star break if needed)
4. Showing good sportsmanship celebrate the other teams achievements ("that guy hit a grand slam for the cycle. Amazing!")
5. Watch clips of your teams great moments of the past (2002 world series montage dvd?)

Well this is our kitchen. I will eat breakfast at the breakfast bar (the wall fingering out; soon to have a nice granite slab on top) everyday. This morning my friend Jim and I primed for paint at 6:30 am. Steph and I are planing on painting the kitchen and living room tonight. Tomorrow cabinets and appliances?

Performing first wedding ceremony April 4th
Angel's Opening Day April 6th

Getting married April 27th
Leaving on Honeymoon April 28th (Phil can I have a ride to the airport?)

Well. That is whats up. I have an exciting month ahead. Plus I need to finish a ton of work on our house. Sweet.

This newspaper clipping was anonymously left attached to my mailbox. This is strange in two ways: This guy looks just like me... as in I thought my face was photoshopped in until I realized it was from yesterdays paper. This guy who freakishly looks like me is doing exactly what I have been doing all week... Scraping popcorn ceilings...

I'm giving my students the impression that it's okay to spend life hiding behind technology, cell phones, computers, and other stuff I'm not cool enough to know about yet.

This week I need to take a piece of my own advice! I have been fixed to my computer; no skate park, no outside, no fun.

Today at noon we start fasting for World Visions 30 Hour Planned Famine. Should be a great weekend of learning. Students are responsible for not eating from 12 noon to 7pm today. At 7pm we meet in our youth building for concert a guest speaker. Then tomorrow we have a day of work projects, until 6pm when we break our fast. I love this event.
