I was surprised this morning when our postman handed me a quite heavy brown envelope... Pera kaya laman nito?!?! ASA!!!! hehehe.. hindi naman ganun kabigat ang pera noh. And it's from Standard Appliances. I opened and walllaaahhhh!!! An illustrated and full color cookbook exclusively by Standard!!!!! Ang ganda in fairness and I think this is 500 peso worth. Apart from the mouth watering recipes meron pang mga tips for cooking, preparing food at about their products on how to prolong and maximize their uses. Lakas Standard, Tibay Standard! Salamuch!!!!

and before lunch naman my expected kitchen gadget has arrived....

The 9-Minute Marinator !!!!!

Ganito kasi yan, last Monday while I was scanning for channels nadaanan ko na naman ang wait there's more channel and once again stumble on this 9-minute marinator. I've seen this product na dati pero I was skeptical kasi 9 minute? marinate? oh common... What made me decide to buy? Blame it on Google! hehehe.... Googling for a decent review I saw a local rev kaya ayan napabili tuloy ako :) To think na way back 2 years pa yun nireview. And ito na nga Iam owning one tested it and ang galing nga noh.. Ambilis and the taste is super! Lalong mapapasarap ang kain nito. :D

We got the netbook AspireOne for Christmas. It comes with an external cd drive, optical mouse which is super cool but to our dismay we cannot register it online. *sigh*

---Metallica---
I got the chance to own this killer Skullcandy Limited Metallica Lowrider Headphone Edition. Talagang nung nakita ko sa Parksquare eh mahal ko na agad. :)

---Eraserheads---
Finally!!! The last set is set to set on stage 03-07-09. I want to watch or do I want to watch? The tickets are quite pricey... so I might not. I got my ears infected with my high pitch scream when they were on stage last August so I guess that's it... Pero malay mo, makautang sa bumbay. :D Gusto ko kasi sana isama si Ineng since I read na pwede basta 4 ft above and kasama naman kami. And one more thing bawal ang preggy kaya for sure wag muna. :) Still having second thoughts pa naman. hehe

---Spaghetti with Caldereta Sauce---
I made this recipe last week and super uber delicious. Imagine, a 400 gram spaghetti was only consumed by 2 adults and 1 6yr.old for a whole day!

PLDT Pisses Me

A couple of weeks ago, PLDT bill was given only to find out that I would my DSL and post paid connection would be disconnected because I owe them with their own error and stupidty blaming SMART Money Services.

It makes me depressed since I made a failed transaction with Globe G Cash for my crappy presence of mind, and a full of hassle in Multiply after failing me to send my order ON TIME and insisting that I should be the one who understand. Geessh.

While still in deep sleep, the telephone scandalously rings which made my grandmother answer it then putting it in my earlobes while I was in bed telling me "si Ofelia daw"

With my sleepy voice I was thankful that the lady on the other line was apologetic because I'm still sleeping at 10am since its Saturday.

"Ma'am Ofelia, regarding po kasi ito sa bill ninyo na kelangan i adjust"
"Bakit ako ang pinag aadjust ninyo eh kayo ang nagkamali. Tumawag na ko sa Smart Money and we figured out na kayo ang nag double post, kayo ang nagkamali, kayo ang mag adjust niyan."

It left her speechless for a second and thanking me just to end our conversation.

Ako na nga ang dehado ako pa ang aabalahin. hay naku talaga. And until now they haven't called if they would give me a six month free account for the hassle they made. ASA! Being a loyal PLDT subscriber nga eh all I got is a directory. Hay naku talaga.

Addicted to Weeds

For two sleepless nights my daughter realized that I'm addicted to something which I was not that aware because all I thought that the reason I am sickening sleepless was the misplaced Ipod.

While seekingly searchingly lookingly trying to figure out where I placed it, for the Ipod, I would watch Weeds in between I got tired looking for it.

Ineng would wake up with the T.V on and would tell pointlessly, "Weeds pala palabas"

For the second night, I can't go sleep again and marathoned for the Season 3. Ineng woke up again with T.V on and aimingly telling me,

"Inay, Weeds na naman. Favorite nyo na yan. Paulit ulit na."

Oo nga ano! Adik na ko. :D

Watching this T.V series made me realize and learn more about family values, dealing with family problems at its hardest times especially when no one to turn on to but to a bunch of strangers you rarely knew and coping with glitch after glitch and moving on.

Price Tag Law

Ang tagal ko ng nagiging biktima nito and this one is the priciest to date.

What action should they take if they violate?

I have no intention of returning it because I love the product so much but they violate my rights as a consumer. :(

Many times naging biktima ako ng false advertisements especially the Yellow Tag Sale. Being a loyal customer to SM Supermarket, I always make it a point that I would shop with yellow tag prices and patronize the product so in return I would get perks. There's a time at our dismay that we only bought those with yellow tag and demand the cashier for the coupon and they apologize that they are not marked as yellow tag on their system. The crap! My hubby was eager for an argument but I hesitated since we are in a hurry.

Misleading din yung maglalagay ng 100 peso items pero the moment na lumapit ka and checked the prices not all the items are on sale. They would mix regular priced products. Sneaky huh.

I know I'm not the only consumer who suffered and victimized by the pricing scheme but since we are a busy mom especially home-based where you do all the chores, it's such a waste of time to argue with these customer service representatives with their handful of alibis. Now who's to blame?

Taken from Consumer Act of the Philippines only guidelines are stated.
Art. 81. Price Tag Requirement. - It shall be unlawful to offer any consumer product for retail sale to the public without an appropriate price tag, label or marking publicly displayed to indicate the price of each article and said products shall not be sold at a price higher than that stated therein and without discrimination to all buyers: Provided, That lumber sold, displayed or offered for sale to the public shall be tagged or labeled by indicating thereon the price and the corresponding official name of the wood: Provided, further, That if consumer products for sale are too small or the nature of which makes it impractical to place a price tag thereon price list placed at the nearest point where the products are displayed indicating the retail price of the same may suffice.

Art. 82. Manner of Placing Price Tags. - Price tags, labels or markings must be written clearly, indicating the price of the consumer product per unit in pesos and centavos.

Art. 83. Regulations for Price Tag Placement. - The concerned department shall prescribe rules and regulations for the visible placement of price tags for specific consumer products and services. There shall be no erasures or alterations of any sort of price tags, labels or markings.

This was taken on the third day since she got a half inch cut from a knife. Takot na takot siya and so innocent sa mga hapdi at kirot when its time to clean, nagtatalon siya as in talagang nag tatakar pa when I cleaned it with a cotton with iodine prior to that we washed it with soap but maybe still numb, she doesn't feel anything pa. Awang awa ako sa kanya... :(

"Inay, pag po naputol ang daliri ko tutubo pa po uli tulad ng finger nails?"
Inay: Hindi na anak ko kaya next time mag-iingat ka.
"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

Nakarga ko tuloy to make her feel secured and comfy. She fell asleep with tears in her eyes. awwwwwwww....

It's healed already and good as new as I try to stop her putting another kuritas. hehehe. At talagang tinesting pa niyang kantahin, what if 9 fingers are left...

Handy Fascination

Palibhasa mana kay Itay mahilig sa last minute rush pag dating sa school works, niyaya ako ni Ineng na bumili ng mga charts containing reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals and fishes. And while I was looking around in the pit box containing the sale goodies, here's what I fished in.

A 12 piece Faber Castell Pencils for 175 petots. I was fascinated kahit hindi ko alam kung mura or mahal pero I like this the first time I saw them aligned in this tin can.

And I was shocked when I saw this.

Hand Shredder!! hindi pa nalagyan ng y sa huli para naging handy shredder na lang... but a hand shredder...oh my golay!!! buti na lang Ineng was really fascinated shredding papers, she doesn'task why it's named hand shredder which was frighteningly can shred your hand. hehe.

Pinilit ko si Itay na halughugin ang lahat ng Imported Magazine Stands sa Manila.. Nakasama pa nga ako eh nakarating kami ng MegaMall, Market!Market!, muntik pa sa MoA at ayun sa GLORIETTA lang pala!!!!! Sorry, for Iam so capricious.... pero tulad ng Eraserheads, I am a very die hard of Metallica... At ito ang first time ko na magkaron ng magazine na Metallica ang cover... Naiba ang bassist pero Metallica pa rin...Kamuka rin naman... hehehe

Until now, as of this very moment, I haven't gone back to normal since I saw Eraserheads reunite for the fans. Nakapamamangha pa rin hanggang ngayon na sila ay makitang muling magkakasamang tumutugtog. At para sa fans na patuloy na nagmamahal at sumusuporta sa kanila ay hindi pa rin sila nagbabago and it seems that they are not getting old. And halos lahat ng tao sa gabing yon ay muling naging bata and happily reminiscing the good old days. Except for a not so happy ending dahil sa matinding pagod ni Ely dahil sa kanyang mga matinding pinagdaanan ng mga huling araw bago pa ang concert. At ang lahat ay umunawa at naintindihan ang kalagayan niya dahil tulad ko mas ayaw kong makikita na sa entablado pa may mangyayaring hindi maganda.

I am almost always ending up teary eyed upon reading other blogs about the post Eraserheads concert and the pictures that really tells a thousand words. It breaks my heart seeing him that way but later on I am consoled by the thought na naagapan lahat ng mga pangyayari :)

And thinking na ganun nga lang ang naging outcome ng concert para sa akin ay sulit na sulit na ako sa maaga kong pagluwas sa Maynila, maagang pagdating sa venue (as in after lunch pa nga lang gusto ko ng pumunta hehehe), sa pagkakabilad sa init ng araw, sa matinding pagka uhaw, sa pagpipigil ng aking sarili na wag ilabas ang camera kasi nagagalit si Manong Guard na bawal daw dun ang camera kahit point and shoot, order daw sa kanila... kaya sa susunod bibili na talaga ako ng camera na may cellphone! (parang cellphone na may camera ata) hehehe eh ika nga sa tv, " it's so sulit !"

At pag uwi ko dito sa Batangas City pilit kong hinalukay at pinaghahanap ang mga natitira ko pang mga collections. Dahil kasi sa member din kami ng No Permanent Address Society di ko masisi pag may nawawala sa mga gamit ko. Malimit mapatapon, ma misplaced or ma-arbor ng mga maiiwanang kaibigan (eh Eraserheads lang naman at kaunting Metallica pa lang talaga ang collection ko). Kaya ayun nauubos at nawawala at nadedekwat pa nga. At hindi pa nasiyahan ay nagkuwento pa ako sa aking Ina tungkol sa sayang idinulot nung makita ko silang apat na sama sama. Noong una kasi ay tutol na tutol siya tulad ng dati eh kawasa matanda na ko ngayon kaya di na ko mapipigilan pero dati pa rin naman kahit na anong mura at kurit at panenermon ang napapala ko eh kalikalinda ko pa rin ang aking kaibigan para manood ng Eraserheads noong sila ay dumadayo pa dito sa Batangas City.

Nagpapasalamat ako kay Markus na nagbigay ng VIP pass. Di ko akalain na isa ako sa mapapalad na mabibigyan nito kasi siyempre family first, friends of the family, friends of the family's friends, friends of the friends of the family's friends at friends of the friends of the friends of the family's friend pa bago pa ang die hard fans, fanatics at fans kaya talagang naging hamit na hamit ako.

Kaya para kina Ely, Raimund, Markus and Buddy...

It's been awhile na pala noh. :) Sa sobra kabisihan ng bising bisi talagang hindi na ko magkandaugaga. And now, I found this precious moment. Napatigil ang raket officially sabi ni bossing kaya eto nga while logging in namiss ko bigla. Ano na nga ga ang mga pinagdaanan ko... Lemme ponder...

Ayun, nagbirthday nga pala ako. Malaking pasalamat kay Lord for giving me another year at wish ko siyempre more years to come. Salamuch sa mga bumati at naka alala. :)

Si Ineng din nag birthday na. Again longing for a party pero promise namin sa kanya sa 7th bday na lang. Promise!

Then sa june naman, bukod sa pasukan, fiesta. Kasama si Ineng sa mga Reyna Prisintada hehehe :D Nagsukat na siya ng gown. Tapos, gusto ko sana ako na lang ang babanat ng hair and make up. :D Nakabili ako ng book talagang kinarir na :D

Graduation

Ayan nag graduation na si Ineng last March 14. Everybody excited. Ako na lang ang nag make up at nag ayos ng hair. :) Ayos ga? At siyempre si Tita Ivy nagpicture picture. (maraming salamuch!!!) Nagandahan sa mga shots ang mga pinag share-an ko ng mga picture. Kapal muks daw ako, reyna prisintada daw sabi ni Kukie. hehe

This week meron na rin kaming ga graduate! (Friday!) yipeeee

Kaya ngayon pa lang busy na ko kaka Google ng magandang hairdo para kay Ineng. And imis imis ng kapamahayan. Ihahanda ang mga kakailanganin. Make up, towel, blower, tissue, basahan, suklay, hairbrush, pang ipit sa buhok, gel, spray net, medyas, sapatos etc. etc....

Buti na lang at may magpi picture picture sa amin (in DSLR!).

Medyo excited (medyo pa lang :D...) na ako kasi sabi sa akin ni Ineng kasama raw siya sa Achievers 2007-2008. At! may speech pa. Well, the speech was supposedly a surprise... hehehe. pero di makatiis si Buninay kaya nasabi na rin sa akin.

I was busy reading a pocket guide to point and shoot photography while my daughter is also busy with her early graduation gifts from a godmother which includes popsicle sticks, paper dolls, origami books and little golden books with the immortal stories of cinderella, snow white and beauty and the beast. Oh my! She forgot to take Finding Nemo! Well... ok, we can go back tomorrow (fingers crossed) and buy. I hope she won't get reminded tomorrow. hehe

She innocently asks, "Inay, how many babies can you make?"

I was in shock and relaxingly, "Depende anak ko sa budget natin, bakit ga?"(because I gave birth thru Cesar, we can have one more or two...) who's Cesar??... ok... ceasarean... hehehe...

"Gawa po ng 100 pieces pala i'reng popsicle sticks... Akin ang isa, sana may 99 pa akong kapatid para tig iisa kaming lahat."

I wanted to laugh hard but I remained composed and hugged her as I praise, "kabait naman ni ineng, marunong ng mag share sa mga magiging kapatid niya"

If I laughed at her innocence, she would think it is a funny joke. :)

Unexpecting the unexpected

Been browsing through the world wide wide wide web eversince my college classmate taught me how to intervene with this powerful unseen force that is travelling thru a bunch of wires and now it can travel into thin air.

I can't believe until now that I am reading a private message from a very big personality in showbiz industry (naman?!?!)

Yeah, as in oh yeah... Until now talaga I can't believe and I am still walking in sunshine kahit madaling araw na ngayon.

I won't reveal here, kaya nga siguro private message para di mainggit ang iba. (at talagang feeling ko important ako).... :D

And as I send a text message to itay about this, the bubble suddenly pops into thin air... Masaya na ko wag na ko kokontrahin na P.A niya lang yun or someone. Inunahan ko na sa text. I pricked the bubble first na. hehehe.

Pero, but, subalit, datapwa't.... Happy pa rin ako.
