book, Cur aliquid vidi, is out and there is information about it at the Ahsahta Press site, here. I think it looks great, Janet Holmes did a wonderful job. I was wondering how the cover image would go over when it first occured to me to use the Duchamp and, aside from the first binder refusing to bind it, I'm very pleased.

Lance Phillipshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04352232797617468388noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6387009.post-1105920269024154592005-01-16T18:58:00.000-05:002005-01-16T19:04:29.023-05:00I'll be reading at an Ahsahta Press book launch along with Noah Eli Gordon, Charles O. First off, I'm a fierce independent; I don't believe in party affiliation. Second, as much as it pains me to say so, I think Bush's chances of losing this thing are very small, although I think he's a fool and a puppet of the "vulcans" among others, Kerry's done little to separate himself, that is to present real change in his proposed policies. It seems to me that Americans like either the status quo or a substantial, palpable change in their leaders, these two seem like different flavors of milktoast. In case anyone's forgotten that this country does still have a future, hopefully a prosperous and peaceful one, here are some pictures of my kids.
--if the syntax of a text is an expansion of the BODY ought it to have a "poetic" sheen?

Lance Phillipshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04352232797617468388noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6387009.post-1090976684460237652004-07-27T20:57:00.000-04:002004-07-27T21:04:44.460-04:00--so can one forego the tyranny of Self
1)--by extending the Body?
1)--one has this sense that language can do ANYTHING
1)--is that so?
1)--can it EXTEND the BODY?
1)--but thru writing one's "life"?

--does this come down to STYLE or maybe (again) SYNTAX?

--does extedning the body necessarily include the subsuming of an OTHER?
1)--is it aggression
1)--in that it is thinking, yes

--can the text extend the body
1)--if so doesn't that attribute some special status to the text, wouldn't it?

--is the text an object or a subject?
