'High Flight' was written by Pilot Officer John Gillespie Magee, Jr / No 412 squadron / RCAF.  Gillespie joined the RCAF before America entered the war.   He was killed December 11,  1941 at the age of 19.

The show was just as funny, and at times even funnier than Saturday Night Live at it's best.  SCTV was consistently funny.  As we entered the eighties, the Second City crew started getting parts on the big screen.
