Ok - first I have to say, I'm not a big fan of country music. I don't dislike it, but it's not what's usually playing on my radio! But tonight, me and the girls met up for some line dancing! Wow - what fun we had! We learned a few dances, including the "alley cat" We got out on that dance floor and just started dancing our little hearts out. We got hooked fast! We're already talking about getting some boots and a hats! Sounds like a shopping spree will be on the calendar soon!

The Queenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07419008993030126745noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371423029657719129.post-37991655241664475182008-02-10T22:12:00.001-08:002008-02-10T22:12:57.685-08:00Life is Good!

The Queenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07419008993030126745noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371423029657719129.post-85619306812318947162008-02-10T20:58:00.001-08:002008-02-10T21:44:42.445-08:00Life is Good!Last year, my husband and I went to Sonoma for the weekend. On a gorgeous sunny spring day, while we were enjoying lunch in Healdsburg, on the Oakville patio, we were approached by an elderly man who stopped at our table and confidently said to us "This is the life - enjoy it!" We smiled wide and agreed with him whole heartedly.

This was one of those weekends that you just sit back and say - life is good! Dave and I took the boys to Windsor for the night. Now, if there is one place I would love to live - it's Windsor. It such an adorable little town and still very rural. It reminds me of the town I grew up in. From our bedroom window, we could see fields of geese, sheep and a lot of cows. There's just something magical about watching the sun pour over green pastures.

After a simple breakfast of cinnamon toast (Greenlee's Bakery in San Jose, CA makes the best), we headed out on our little road trip through the town of Healdsburg, where we enjoyed lunch at our favorite little spot - Oakville Market. We then made that beautiful drive to Napa Valley. The boys just loved the beautiful hills and the amazing wineries. We did stop at one - Castille de Amoroso. It was Amazing! Tyler and I did the tour and I did a little wine tasting. The castle reminded me of some of the castles I'd been to in England. It was so cool!

From there, we continued on to Fairfield to visit my dearest friends, Nancy and Sherri. We spent the rest of the day at Sherri's and we just had such a good time! The guys hung out in the back yard, while minding the bbq, the kids all played well together throught the house, while us girls hung out in the kitchen - catching up on our recent goings on. I love those girls! We've been friends forever and when we get together it's like no time has passed. We all enjoyed dinner together and exchanged stories about our kids, camping trips, etc.

The weekend ended with me going on a 1 hour walk with my friend, Mary. She's another sweetheart. Later, I joined Mary again for a goal-setting gathering with our women's social group. Boy - when you get a room full of women together, there is no end to the conversations! What a great group of ladies. I'm looking forward to our next meeting! I left very inspired.
Oh - and did I mention the weather? GORGEOUS! The weekend was Spring-like. What a great weekend. I'm so greatful for having such an awesome family and such great friends!

The Queenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07419008993030126745noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371423029657719129.post-20852579841634012792008-02-03T22:30:00.000-08:002008-02-03T23:15:43.335-08:00My Creative Weekend

What a weekend! Which followed a very busy week! Friday night I met some friends for an evening of aromatherapy :) We made these very yummy bath salts and sugar scrubs! I had no idea how easy it was to make them. The ingredients were simple, and best of all, organic.

Then I was up early on Sat. morning so I could beginning preparing the ladies tea I was hosting at the Shabby Shack. I was expecting 7 ladies from my friendship, but by 1:00 I was joined by 8!! How we all fit in my tiny little studio wasa miracle, but we had such a nice time. The company and conversation were so enjoyable, the last guests didn't leave until after 5:30. It was such a wonderful day. Later that evening, I joined another group of very nice ladies for dinner at Chili's. Again it was a nice evening, but I was exhausted by the time I got home.

Sunday wasn't any different. My sister, Diane, and I went to a resin class in Palo Alto! Now that was fun. I've always been wanting to learn how to make resin charms for various projects I'd like to do! I'm definitely in a creative mood these days. Hoping to spend more time at the Shack just playing.

The Queenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07419008993030126745noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371423029657719129.post-64409035984070808332008-01-21T20:59:00.001-08:002008-01-21T20:59:18.005-08:00The Shabby Shack

The Queenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07419008993030126745noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371423029657719129.post-36952026910681266592008-01-20T22:38:00.000-08:002008-01-31T16:38:32.370-08:00Off to a Good StartWell, so much for being good about posting every day! But I have a good excuse :) Life has been busy - having lots of fun with family and friends. What have we been up to, you ask? Well, let's see... I'll try to keep the summaries brief:

Christmas: We had a wonderful Christmas. The winner of the best gift this year goes to Dave - Santa delivered a new truck to him on Christmas morning. Dinner, was spent at Dave's grandmother's. In keeping with tradition, we were served Prime Rib and persimmon pudding. Celebrating with my entire family is always a treat and laughs are always guaranteed.

New Years: Dave and I went to a New Years Eve Party with our friends, Nancy and Clay. For the first time, since we got married, Dave and I left the kids at home with their grandmother. While we had a lot of fun - including a lot of dancing - something we hadn't done in YEARS - we missed the kids and felt terribly guilty for leaving them behind.

Girl Time: I've been keeping busy with new friends - trying out new restaurants, game night, afternoon chick flick, scrapbooking, and the start of a new book club called the Book Club Babes! It's a fun group of gals and we're off to a good start. You'll have to check out my Hobbies page on http://www.callmethequeen.com/.

Oh and we found a new addiction - ROCK BAND!! Last night we spent hours at Deb and Steve's rocking out to Foreigner, Nirvana, Radio Head, and tons more. We brought our XBOX 360 and all our equipment - the kids were set up on one room, while the adults (or big kids, I should say) played on Deb's Playstation. We rocked on until 1:30 am!! (yes I'm tired today!)

Well, I think you've been caught up. This coming week is going to fun. I'm scrapbooking all day on MLK day, as well as having lunch with my friend Nicole - whom I haven't seen in at least 2 years!

Cheers!

The Queenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07419008993030126745noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371423029657719129.post-87248027216112724522008-01-04T23:29:00.001-08:002008-01-04T23:29:07.420-08:00Murder Myster Party

The Queenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07419008993030126745noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6371423029657719129.post-78676111223085841482007-12-13T22:47:00.000-08:002007-12-13T23:05:08.513-08:00I'm so behind! It's less than two weeks away and I haven't even gotten my tree up yet!! We got our tree last weekend - we usually get it the day after Thanksgiving. But it's still in a bucket of water in our back yard! Agghhh!! This weekend we'll be getting out all the decorations (of course that will be after I put away all my Thanksgiving decorations). I can't wait for Christmas break.

Speaking of Christmas Break - I've actually scheduled time with a professional organizer. My garage is out of control! It's going to take days go to get it in order and that's AFTER I've had my consultation with the organizer. Look for the before and after pics :)

As for shopping - ughhh. I haven't even started. Well, I've picked up a few things here and there, but I still have way more to do! The hard part is that I dont even know what to get the kids this year. Last year was easy! This year - not so much.

One thing I'm excited about is that all my little chick-a-dees will be home for Christmas - a first in a few years, since Jason was in the Marine Corps for 4 years and Kat was in Missouri last year. So - we'll be making cookies, and decorating the tree this weekend. Ah the magic of Christmas.

Pics of the house and tree will follow soon!

The Queenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07419008993030126745noreply@blogger.com1
