2012 End of the World

I went to watch 2012 with hubby last weekend, and the effect was extraordinary. I shed tears watching some of the moments, which have really touched my heart where it was too late for the dad to reconcile with his son and how families stick together and struggling to save their family members. What went wrong in this movie was the people have never being made aware about the event.

Even though the plot was predictable, but in my point of view, 2012 should be a great reminder for humankind to think like human even when the world has come to an end. We don't really know when exactly it will happen as we only based on predictions and Science, but it really got me thinking of what I shall do if I am in that situation. Everything was gone in just a blink of an eye!

Well, I don't want to spoil the movie as probably some of you haven't watched it yet.

Anyway, I suddenly feel like singing the song 'End of the World', one of my evergreen favorites. I have found a version by the late Lena Zavaroni when she was just a little girl and her rendition of this song was so beautiful and touching, it really wanna make me cry especially after I read about her tragic life.

It was such a memorable year because it was my first Christmas as husband and wife. Hubby and I put up the Christmas tree together with the help from my two enthusiastic nephews, aged 9 and 7 at that time. I had to inspect the tree every morning because our cats were vandalizing it at night while everybody was sleeping. Usually, we would find it was a bit slanted and some of the ornaments were broken. My sis actually caught one of the cat perched on the branches. It was an artificial tree and very light, so you could imagine how it looked like with a cat resting on it.

I was working in a hotel, which was attached to a mall. I got excited every time I looked at the Christmas decorations that could be seen in every corner of the shops and it has urged me to put up the Christmas tree at home a day earlier than as planned. Moreover, my nephews especially the eldest one kept on asking me when I was going to do it. So, again the same faithful team working on the tree. The cats were getting lazier, but I still found some traces of their 'project'.

The Christmas tree is already up and lighted. Yayyy!!! It's the spirit he he... and I think my eldest nephew has been talking about it since the first week of November! So, when I took out the tree and decorations, they were overjoyed. I have to raise my voice to calm them down because they were getting uncontrollable! Hubby has helped me out as well and we placed it at the corner as I don't want the cats to notice about it.

Yeah, I have no internet connection for nearly two days! I felt like I have lost one arm and I could not think of what to do because all of my online work was pending. I was so stressed and I know it was our fault of delaying in paying the bill, but that was not the real reason of why I was raving over it like a mad woman.

It was driving me nuts because the connection was still very slow even when we have fully settled the outstanding bill. It was not consistent and it took a long time for the pages to load. I was sitting here for almost three hours and my mouth just could not stop cursing. If you could see me just now, I bet you would be tongue tied seeing me cursing the laptop and mouse even though the main problem was the speed!

We have not much choice when it comes to internet service provider. Everything is very slow and it really tests our patience. How I wish we have something like charter ultra fast 60.It is one of the fastest in the U.S. with 60Mbps, which is now accessible in St. Louis and expanded to other areas for the benefits of the customers in experiencing the super high-speed of the internet connection.

As I am depending so much on speed, I am getting fed-up with the current connection!

So, I have been busy with online work and searching for more opportunities on the net. It's not that easy, but I'll manage.

I just want to share something that I found quite annoying of some people's behavior. Should I call them hypocrite or nothing but a pretender! I really hate it when we shared something good and we were being neutral about it, then all of a sudden a group of people just bombarded us with something they didn't even really know how it works, but they just assumed because they were only thinking about themselves. They forgot to see the positive side of the things can do, but only thinking about the negative. I think I can call them of being selfish and pessimist as well.

What I hate most when I have seen some of these people claiming that they were there not because of this particular thing, but for other different purposes or just WHATSOEVER their reasons were, but when the idea was brought up, and then it became so apparent that they were only there just for that particular thing! If they hadn't said that in the first place, it wouldn't be so irritating!! I don't want to take it personally, but I am a bit offended!!! GRRR... Or maybe I am the one who view it differently???

Ughhh!!! Sorry about my ranting he he... I seldom do this and I should be joyful as Christmas is fast approaching and that is the only season that can bring peace in me.

Oh yes, there was a weird thing happened to me yesterday when I received a message from an unknown individual stating that he was impressed with my writing skills *~ am not good, but thanks for the compliment!* and he was actually offering me to be a part of their writing team. Hmmm... I don't know what the deal is, but if it's not a scam, I might give it a try as I am always open to new opportunities. Oh, I miss to write those reviews and get paid to blog.

The Scent of Christmas

Everyone seems to be talking about Christmas! That means I have lots of things to list down especially on what gifts I should buy this year to my hubby and the rest of the family. I think it won't be difficult because his 'Eau De Toilette' has finished since a few months ago and I haven't bought any new one to him yet. So, you can guess that I will get him one for Christmas plus another bonus gift.

Last year, I bought him the Scent from Burberry. It has a very fresh and really nice smell, but I have been thinking to buy something different. It seems that he only gets a perfume or spray from me during Christmas! LOL!! Well, this is the first gift on my list and the rest, I have to crack my head and look at the budget first!

Dad’s 61st Birthday and The Durian Adventure

Last Tuesday was Dad's 61st birthday...

Happy Birthday, Dad...

We just had a simple birthday celebration and that was fine. I love the photo I took using my mobile phone, well, hubby won it from a bidding site and gave it to me he he he... The color was a bit dull, though.

Anyway, is just Durian season over yet?? I have seen some people are still selling durians, I wonder how they got the name like 'durian tembaga' *bronze durian* lol, and other unique plus funny names.

I have been eating A LOT of durians for the past few weeks. All those durians were collected from our own trees at dad's village. So, a few weeks ago we went to 'attack' the trees. Well, frankly speaking, I was only waiting at home for my hubby, uncle and mom bringing back those durians.

One has to climb up and down the steep hill before reaching there. I thought I didn't have to go, so, I purposely left my sports shoes at home. :D

But then, I was so bored to death waiting for them!!! And I actually did wish that I had worn my sports shoes instead... because even mom was so eager with the durian adventure heehee...

Then, I thought I could go online, but too bad there was no internet connection at all... so saddd...

We had some before they went to get some more, but I was waiting, waiting, waiting... and when they finally arrived, I wasn't so patient and there I was, enjoying my moments of 'durian-ing' session heheheee...

A Week After Raya Break...

Wuahhh... so sad my blog has been neglected... I will try to update often... yes... promise... before Christmas...LOL!! Raya is over, yeah, it's a month celebration, but to me it's o-ver and now I'm counting the days, I just can't wait for Christmas!! *woot* Ha ha... OK, before I get carried away with all those Christmassy talks, I must say that this year Raya was much merrier than last year because of the non-stop fire crackers, but it was very irritating sometimes when they were TOO loud!!! They could really give me a heart attack!! Touch wood!!! Anyway, even though I only went to four houses, but... the food was everywhere, and you know me, I did eat like crazy!! Hahahaaa...

It's been a couple of weeks since I last updated my blog... tsk! Gotta improve my pace a little bit since I am so free at current, but blame it on Facebook! LOL!! Just kidding... Anyways, September is confirmed to be the food fiesta month heheheee... On Sept 06th, a cousin of mine got married and I ate a LOT! Haha... but the highlight for today is MY birthday heheheee... and mom's...

Sept 10th was mom's 59th birthday... My older sis bought a cake and mom blew the candles on a very hot sunny mid afternoon!! :D We had KFC for lunch, bought by eldest sis.

Ouch! Don't Paint My Back!!

I have backache for more than a week already. I don't know if it's just wind or normal muscle pain, but I could feel the stiffness at my shoulders and low back, and if I press or massage the area where the pain is, I would burp. Sometimes, it is so uncomfortable to sit and type for a few hours as if someone has hit me at the back with paintball! Ouch!!

Harry Porter and the Half-Blood Prince

I am probably slower than the snail. It seems that everyone has made a review on the latest Harry Porter movie and here I am still fascinated by the effect of the movie I watched on last Sunday night. If you ask me on my take about Harry Porter and the Half-Blood Prince, it was splendid as ever. I was bathed with magical moments with my eyes fixed to the big screen, hoping it would never reach the end. In short, I can't wait for the next one! The worst part was I had to go the washroom after more than 2.5 hours. As I didn't want to miss any important scene it only took me less than 5 minutes hehe... *Hey, I did wash my hands, TYVM!!*

Anyway, the movie went well and luckily, there was no technical disruption. I remember the last Harry Porter. Full of exuberant hubby and I went for the premier, but would you believe me if I told you that the movie hasn't even started yet when the theatre room suddenly went black out?!! *ROARRR* Oh yes! Everyone waited patiently for almost half an hour until the staff rushed in and announced that the show had to be cancelled that night, which of course has created a commotion!!! So, have you watched Harry Porter and the Half Blood Prince yet? What do you think??

Besides wishing the newly wed a long lasting marriage, what do you like most about wedding? What are you normally looking forward to when attending a wedding?? I usually can't wait to eat hehehee... It's the only time I can devour 7 to 8 dishes of mouthwatering food with variety of cooking styles. Remember when I said hubby and I were attending a friend's wedding on last Saturday? In case I haven't told you, I've quitted my job! Yeah, finally... I couldn't stand the office politics, TOO much and I HATE the environment, loads of dramas... So, I took an exit for a 'commercial break' hehehe...

Seriously, this is the moment for me to reflect and I have no regrets at all. I am thinking positive now that there are much better opportunities else where. Been FREE for almost 2 months, that's why I can FB-ing without interruptions except when hubby wants to use the lappy! Oh, the other pc is still being neglected for how long already because of the CPU needs to be fixed.

Anyways, I received a call from an ex-colleague last week. He was asking if I'd be interested to work and join their hotel. OK, first, I didn't expect any calls... and second, I really need to THINK... So, I told him at least give me a few days so that I could make the right decision. Even though the offer sounds tempting, but I needed to weigh the pros and cons... Let alone if I am going to work with a few peeps that I don't get along well....

Actually, the previous hotel I worked before and the one I am offered a position right now WAS sister hotel. They were from the same chain hotel groups, but the latter pulled out and decided on being independent. There were backstabbing and betrayals involved when the former started to pinch staff to work for them. So, while this chaotic moment took place, I decided to resign! I don't think I'd be able to handle the stressful situation anymore...

So, I wish I did not receive such calls! I love my time doing the online job even though it's not much and a bit slow, but at least my time is flexible. Of course, I'm thinking of going back to work... but can I have some free time, please?? Let me enjoy my blissful moment of FREEDOM for a while... ;D

I had to switch off the lappy at an instant, fear that the lightning might strike my one and only source of blogging, FB-ing, gaming and everything! :D I even buried my head underneath the pillow at the blaze of lightning and sound of thunders. They always freak me out, you know. What about you? How would you react if there are lightning and thunders??

When I recalled the day DAD suddenly fell and lose consciousness in front of my very eyes, it can still brings tears to my eyes. It happened more than 20 years ago, and I remember how panicked and scared I was... Last Saturday, once again the same feeling I dread most enveloping myself...

Hubby and I were at a friend's wedding dinner reception when my older sis phoned me. She was sobbing and when she told me that dad has fainted, I couldn't think of anything else except to get out of that place and be right over to the hospital where he was taken. It was such a painful moment waiting at the emergency room, watching him lying there so weak... *sob*

Right now he's at home enjoying his favorite TV show. He was discharged 2 days ago, but the biopsy's result is still pending... Please help us to pray for his health, that there is nothing serious and pray for his speedy recovery... Thanks so much...
