Well folks, we have another lovable Lakie in rescue. She is a distant cousin to the ones who started this blog. Maggie May is her name and she was well trained and loved by her former owners, but her older sister became too bossy and fighting was too frequent. This is often the case with terriers, making it difficult to place same sex terriers together. True to terrier tradition, she terrorizes my cats. I just don't know if she wants to play with them or kill them! Either way, they keep out of her reach as you can see......

I know he looks a little shaggy but our Big Bro has come on hard times. The same rescue group who took us in is looking for a furever home for Stanley. He loves to play in the water and fetch. And yes, he will drop the toy on command, unlike some of us!! He's at the vet now for a check-up and then off to the groomers an extreme make-over.

Three or more of the pups have their furever home. The young mother is still hoping. Onana is almost 3 years old. She was born 9-9-05. Onana is very calm, sweet, docile and somewhat needy but this is very normal for a dog who has lived in a puppymill. She has a wonderful, temperament and loves everyone. She is very happy in the house and seems to be house trained. Poor baby had to be clipped short, to get the matts out of her fur. Good thing hair grows. She will be beautiful once her coat grows back. Onana isn't ready to leave me yet. She is current on vaccinations, microchipped, fecal, heartworm tested, but isn't spayed yet. This will be done on April 15th. I will post updated pictures. Please keep her in mind, if you are looking for a Young female Terrier who needs and deserves LOTS of TLC.

Our adorable little Welsh Puppies in rescue are from a Puppymill in MO. There are five: 2 boys and 3 girls. Born 2-9-08 Health checked, microchipped, fecal and vaccinations current for their age. They are healthy, happy, playful and full of Terrier energy. All and the mother are looking for new homes with terrier experience & time to train and work with a Puppy.

I DO NOT ship, so you would have to be willing to travel by car or fly with a puppy.

Application, vet reference and home visit are required to adopt.

They are wonderful, affectionate,rather clumsy Teddy Bears, with a perfect temperament. They are neutered, vaccinations are up to date, fecal checked, health check and microchipped. They are healthy and all ready for a loving forever home. We do insist on a fenced yard, terrier experience, and a family who isn't gone 8 hours a day. They love to be with you and really loves to romp in the yard. They are in leash training, house training and crate training. Lovely young fellows who will be a loyal, loving companions. Just an update to thank everyone who helped with these special lakies. Final arrangements are being made for the last of the three boys to go to his furever home. All the black lakies were rehomed in Florida. All have received basic training and will continue under the adoption agreement with their obedience training.

Noche before he left for his furever home in Tampa, FL. And Missy, a 3 month old toy size schnauzer in foster care. I think she got up on the wrong side of the bed! :O) cause we really did get along and play all day. My two bros still in rescue look similar to me. They need furever homes with playful peeps that will keep them occupied & attend obedience and agility training. Lakies are very much a pack animal so they should do well with another doggie in the home.

Great news. Noche, the fishin' Lakie, and his brother are going to their new homes very soon. Both boys will remain in Florida and hopefully attend obedience classes. They are very loving pups with minds of their own! Only one black Lakie boy remains in foster care. We hope his Christmas wish come true, too!

Well folks, I am almost home. My foster mommy has tears in her eyes, but she still has my brother to keep her busy. My new Bro's person said she was flying in Tuesday to take me home.
