My kids were beyond excited when they saw this fellow in the front garden. Woodpeckers are shy, so I couldn't get very close to him to take a picture. And he flew away when I tried to get closer. When we checked the birdfeeder, we could tell he'd been at it. What's even better is that the next day, there was a pair of them in the front yard. Alas, that is the last we've seen of them.

I bought this fabric at an African import store in Oakland, but I'm not sure what to do with it, other than a quilted wall hanging sort of thing, which I really don't want to do.
