Nicely put. We each need to figure out what will make us happiest & allow us to take care of ourselves properly & go with it.

I don't think I would be happy as a stay-at-home wife, but I'm working to develop a balance between work & caring for my sanctuary. I'm not there yet, but I'm starting to think I can SEE it from here!

Well said!
It's pretty much looked down on when women really embrace traditional femininity. It's such a shame...women can get praise and respect from embracing their masculine side, but be ridiculed for taking on the role of a traditional female. Women should be able to choose what makes them happy without being seen as inferior and simple-minded.

I would love to be a housewife! Everyday when I'm at work I feel like I don't belong there. I am constantly thinking about things I could be doing at home when I'm at work. I feel like I was born in the wrong era.
My dream is to be a housewife. I hope I can make it happen one day!

Seems to me, whatever you do, there will be people who understand and adire you for it...

and people who sneer at you for it.

But at the end of the day, you find the path that makes you feel: "yeah, this works, this is me"...

and those people with half a dollop of insight who meet you see that, value it, and value you for it.

I agree on that. Every now and then I'd love to be able to stay at home, which would give me time to do all the hobbies I'd like to do, things that I now hardly have time for due to all of my work. I also enjoy working but if I'd be a housewife I could choose which freelance jobs I'd do myself (only the intersting ones) and quit the other jobs.

But if you think about it, it seldom goes the other way; that the man would be a "house husband" with the wife supproting him. Or then it's just referred to as "musician/slob/artist boyfriend" :)
(I do have some of those among the people that I know)
