This is a genuine mystery to me. Being on the receiving end of PMT is not fun. It can even be a little dangerous and yet on the whole men are fairly tolerant of the monthly ranting, random accusations, inquisitions and let's not forget the 'chill'.

So why is it that when a man has a cold he can't cope? He goes to bed with 'man flu' and requires pampering for three days minimum. Unless of course you have PMT in which case he takes parecetamol and keeps his gob shut, lest he get a fist in it!

Why don't men like taking advice from women?

Here's the thing.

Your guy tells you about some problems he's having with work, a debt collector, a nuisance neighbour etc. He off loads all of his troubles on to you, his doting girlfriend or wife. You listen attentively, you sympathise and then...you offer advice.

You give him some very clear instructions regarding the steps he needs to take to resolve the problem.

At this point, your man starts to roll his eyes, interrupts continuously and adopts a 'tone'. Suddenly you are the little woman and not a valid source of advice.

He informs you your advice is not wanted, is not useful and will not be used by him. He will most likely request that you be quiet.

Fair enough...

Two days later, your man comes home with a big grin and a skip in his step.

He tells you that all his problems are over. He shared the details of the trouble he mentioned to you two days earlier with a male work colleague. The male colleague gave him some great advice which your man heeded now everything is right in the world once more.

You inquire as to the nature of the advice and lo.... it is the exact same advice that you gave him two days earlier.

Now if you're really brave, you'll use this as an 'I told you so' moment and milk it for all it is worth.

STOP!

If you've been down this road before you know it is pointless, because unless you were sensible and recorded the conversation on tape, he will deny it ever took place.

You have been warned!

What is that supposed to mean…a quiet life? You have a quiet life, you don’t do anything except go to work all day. You come home feed the dog, bath the kids, massage my feet and as soon as I want a little attention, a bit of conversation, ask you what you think of Suzy’s new boyfriend you tell me ‘you just want a quiet life’?

What's the difference between studs and sluts?

I used to believe there was no difference between studs and sluts and this was reflected in a post I wrote called 'the egg and sperm race'. In that post I examined the reasons why culturally men are hailed as sexual hero's for having numerous sexual conquests whereas women are condemned for sleeping around and having numerous sexual partners. They are often called slags for example.

However it has recently been made clear to me the difference and there is indeed a difference.

Men are studs because for a man to be a success with lots of women he has to be good looking, charming, charismatic, perhaps rich.

Whereas for women to have lots of sexual partners she merely has to be available. It is not hard for a woman to get laid, regardless of how she looks, sounds or presents herself. If she's easy, she is in with a chance.

This is why men, despite wanting sex with whoever they 'date' would prefer that the woman say 'no' to sex at least once. This shows them that the woman is a little bit selective and so once they've been selected their self value increases.

Beauty Hurts - I burnt my bum!

A friend of mine recently emailed a hilarious true story of a woman who had a rather unfortunate accident while waxing her bikini line. Her leg was propped up on the loo, while she carefully applied the wax and strip but when she removed the strip, the wax was nowhere to be seen. Some how it had slid down past her bikini line. It had also dried.

Her, what does Ali G call it- punani? was sealed shut, as was her rear exit!
A frantic phone call to her best friend (who recommended she call the fire brigade) and several 'hair raising' removal attempts later she eventually freed herself.

Anyway this reminded me of a rather unfortunate incident that happened to me.

I sat down on my bed and felt a 'prickly' sensation on my bare bottom. I was getting ready to go out, so was naked. I thought I'd sat on my hairbrush so didn't immediately get up, but then the prickle became a burning and I realized I had in fact sat on my very hot curling tongs! I had a 4inch brand on my butt!

So, I do what any sensible person does in this situation, and I get a bowl of cold water to sit in. Just as I do this I hear a car pull up outside. I look out the window and see my flat mate arriving with her student friends. I had just about enough time to get dressed when they walked in.

I was too embarrassed to say I'd burned my bum and needed immediate emergency medical attention, so I suffered through their entire visit. When they went and for several weeks afterwards my flat mate had to assist in giving me a progress report on my burned bum, as I could not see it myself!

Average looking men can date stunning women and here's why!

Some guys (not so much gals) have this thing about not 'punching above their weight'.

This means they don't try to date women who they consider out of their league.

For example, they consider they themselves are 'average' looking so they only try to date average looking women, leaving the '10's' to the handsome guys.

This is a flawed theory and if it seems ALL attractive women are only dating very attractive men it's because the average looking guys don't ask these ladies out on dates.

This of course isn't the case. I know many average looking guys who are with beautiful women, for the simple fact that they IGNORE this daft rule.

Ignoring this rule shows that these men have inner confidence and that is always more attractive than looks.

Here's a true story from my own life.

I myself have always aimed high and always had the men that every other woman wants. Of course they turn out not to be all that and so they get thrown back. Looks aren't everything.

I had a female friend moaning about an unattractive stalker she'd acquired once. She couldn't believe he was punching so high above his own weight!

She said to me (cheeky cow that she was)

"You wouldn't go for really attractive guys would you Leah?".
I must've been having a bad hair day

I reminded her I was with a very attractive guy and that all previous chaps had been equally attractive.

I don't go into a sweet shop and pass by the yummy scrummy sweets because they are on the top shelf and appear out of my reach (me being short).

Why being with a babe magnet isn't all it's cracked up to be!

One of my exes was a babe magnet. He wasn't handsome, he wasn't tall, he wasn't rich, he wasn't funny and he wasn't that bright either!

On the surface of it, he had nothing to offer to women in terms of these superficial things that other men might consider women find important when looking for a mate.

Certainly when I first encountered this male, I didn't find him the least bit attractive. In fact I found him a little repulsive.

1 year later we were married.

What did this man do to persuade me he was worth my time, my attention and my love?

He had a great smile. This was his one endearing physical feature and he smiled a lot.

He was a great listener and he was interested in knowing everything about me but wasn't so inquisitive that he didn't share anything about himself. He shared a great deal of intimate information.

He also played to my nurturing side by appearing 'vulnerable'. This I suppose created an atmosphere of trust and as a result a friendship was forged.

He was like this with all the women he encountered without exception. He was instantly 'open' and 'sharing'. He had life experience and was able to relate to people's problems and help them overcome them. He thus played the healer and the needy card well.

I very quickly noticed how 'attractive' he seemed to be to other women. This of course (in competitive terms) made his attractive rating fly up. If other women rate him highly then he must be worth having.

This is how men's attractive ratings work.

It's not about them standing alone as an individual it's about others perceive them.

This summarizes this man's appeal.

So what was the downside of being with this man that every woman wanted.

Day and night women would call the house. Not just his female friends, but the girlfriends of his male friends and the mothers of his male friends. They'd call him up to discuss their problems.

When we were out strange women would come up and sit on his knee with me sat right beside him.

I also had to endure women telling him they loved him, throw their arms around him and kiss him right under my nose.

It was quite insane and in all seriousness this is exactly how it was.

He couldn't buy an icecream from a female icecream seller without her relating her personal troubles and him taking her number!

I am not exaggerating in the least.

Meanwhile, this guy was far from perfect behind the scenes and one year after marrying him I divorced him and went back to finding him repulsive.

There are thus two messages here:

If it's in your nature to be a friend, to listen to women's problems and to be attentive you'll do very well with women indeed.

Women
If you've got yourself a babe magnet, be warned, it might not be that much fun! You must not be the least bit jealous as chances are your babe magnet will continue to attract babes long after you two got together.

The truth about large penises

The subject of penis size once came up (no pun intended) on a science forum, and the question was 'why does the size of men's penis's vary?'

My obvious answer to this was that, it was to accomodate the fact that the size of womens vagina's vary. One size foot does not fit all size shoes!

Why women are crap at D.I.Y.

A few weeks ago, my loo broke.

Well, that's not strictly true.

I had a minor drip from inside the cistern (probably due to worn washer) and so I decided 'I am WOMAN' I will FIX IT MYSELF'.

So, I loosened a little screw thing, which released the water to make a bigger drip, an unstoppable drip in fact. I was unable to retighten the screw, it was stuck!

So, I went to my sons room, gathered some 'stuff'' and fitted the 'stuff' between the screw and thing that it needed to press against to stop the water gushing out (valve thingy).

Yahoo it worked! Toilet fixed, BY ME! 1 nil to girl power.

I spent lovely coffee morning with my pals, had some friends over, collected daughter from school, came home

It's raining in my kitchen. The toilet cistern has overflowed, is dripping through my electric lights, onto my kitchen floor. Bathroom floor is ruined; all tiles (which I fitted myself not so very long ago) are lifting off the floor.

But I couldn't stop the water gushing everywhere!

I did what any sane female would do and phoned first bloke I could think of i.e. my ex!

BUT, he was working and out of town, so what was I to do. I tried to locate the indoor stopcock to turn off all the water to the house, but couldn't turn it off, as it was stiff. I remembered this tap being an issue when we fitted the kitchen 2yrs earlier. I had asked the ex to replace it! He had not so I tried to locate the outside tap to turn off the water supply. That was of course after another phone call to ex to rant about him not replacing that stiff tap!

Outside, I bravely opened the cover to the hole where the tap should be. A giant pig eating spider leapt out at me, so swiftly the cover went back down.

Nothing left to do now, but ring the emergency services!

I rang the emergency water board, to see under what circumstances they would come out and turn this tap off for me, so I didn't have to.

It was NOT good news.

I was told I had to lie on the pavement and put my whole arm down the narrow (barely arms width) hole, as the tap was some two feet down.

It was dark in that hole! Armed with torch, plastic bag over my arm, I approached the hole. I established that it was now pig-eating spider free and then did it. Put my arm in the hole. No tap!

No tap! It was covered and submerged in dirt.

My arm wasn't long enough to dig it out.

Several phone calls later I found out I needed a long tap turning off thingy. So, I got kids and myself together and we went to the hardware shop. They never had one, but sold me something I could use to dig out this tap.

So, it was dark now.

I had a go at digging, arm in hole. Not so bad now, as was second attempt.

Finally ex arrived at the scene! By that time though I had roped in my next-door neighbour to help find this outdoor tap. So then both of them set to, trying to dig around it so we could turn off the water to the house.

No luck, we just could not find it. I called the water board again to rant about this missing tap! They said how much it would cost for them to come out and turn the water off for me but then I'd have the problem of them coming back to turn it on again.

What to do? what to do?

I called my plumber friend (not in my area so no home visit) to see if we could somehow turn off the water some other way and he mentioned freezing the pipe.

So, the ex went under the kitchen sink to look at the stiff stop cock tap and see if the pipe could be 'frozen' or whatever.

"Oh!" he exclaimed

"Here's the NEW stopcock tap I fitted when I fitted the kitchen"

And promptly turned the water off.

The moral of this story dear readers:

'DO NOT rely on females to pass on accurate information about the presence of absence of things pertaining to plumbing!'

(It took two days after this to fix the loo - ex did it all, bless!)

Biology aside, If you want to make your girlfriend or wife squirt, this is the way to do it.

Warm her up with some clit foreplay.

Massage her vagina with your fingers, tongue or a vibrator, gliding the tools of choice around her clit and inside. You need to do this to encourage the ejaculation fluid to fill up inside her G spot wall. You can feel the G spot area getting harder and thicker as the fluid builds up. How to find her 'G' spot

Inside the woman's vagina on the wall where her belly button is about 2 inches up is a soft spongy area.

If you insert your fingers (two is good) and curl them up so your hand makes a type of 'cup' shape you can find the 'G' spot. It's easier to find if you press against her vaginal wall from the opening upwards in stages. use firm pressure but not painful. Use a 'come hither' type of hand movement. Ie When you call someone with your hand you you pull your fingers towards you, release and then repeat several times.

When you reach the 'G' spot you feel a difference in her fleshy vagina and if you're pressure is firm and fast, you should get a very pleasurable response when you reach it!

If you identify the area you think the G spot is. Press on it firmly (not painfully) and see if your partner reports a sensation of wanting to 'pee'. Better still ask her how it feels.

If she feels like she wants to pee, she might become tense and tighten up so reassure her that this is a normal sensation. It may be better to discuss squirting with her at some point before hand so she knows that if and when she does squirt, it's not something to be worried about.

Don't discuss this right before sex though as anticipation spoils these things as you can over think sex if you're not careful.

If your partner has already emptied her bladder, she won't wet herself in the conventional sense but she may wet herself in the 'squirting sense'.

When you have the G spot located, stimulate it with the 'come hither' movement.

If you are bold enough to have had a conversation about squirting with your lover beforehand, let her know that when you try this that at the moment she feels she can't hold on any longer, as the fluid has built up so much, to just let go and 'push' the fluid out.

Just watch those ejaculation fluids fly!

You may want to prepare for some mess with towels on the bed before hand.

Does treating them mean and keeping them keen work?

Personally if I am in love, I treat my partner like gold dust and place them on a pedestal, but that's not to say it works well for me. It's just not my nature to mistreat people.

However the following did occur to me recently when thinking about the old

'treat them mean to keep them keen' cliche.

When people are mean to us we tend to worker that bit harder to get them to be nice to us. This usually involves us being nicer to them.

But when people are already nice to us, we do not have to work at getting them to be nice so we either are or are not nice, but it's not something that requires deliberate effort.

In which case, the old

'treat 'em mean to keep 'em keen' cliche appears to work.

I also noticed that when I am PMT'd (period stress) and I turn into super bitch for two days of every month, I am tad off hand with my lover. He as result becomes a little insecure and more affectionate.

He shouldn't reward my bad behaviour, but he can't seem to help himself and similarly I run after him more when he's in a sulk about something.

Is this why the other cliche

'Nice guys finish last'

also seems to ring true?

I hope not.

I got my Invisalign Braces today and I already look better - seriously!

What are Invisalign Braces

Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to position and straighten teeth. They are removable and mostly invisible!

I have today received my first set of Invisalign aligners, top and bottom.

I wear a new set of aligners every two weeks, each one slightly different to the rest, adjusting my teeth gradually with tiny movements.

I need to wear aligners on the top for 14months and the bottom for 6months. I can handle this knowing that I will have a Hollywood smile afterwards!

Despite what I've read about Invisaligns, they do not hurt at all (so far) and I can talk properly, no slurring or spitting! I actually like how they feel. Not too tight, just 'firm'.

I'm anticipating becoming super healthy and slimmer while wearing these Invisalign braces as I can only eat and drink (other than water) when I take the Invisalign braces out. Which I need to limit and only do at meal times for maximum results.

Another mega bonus which I never expected at all, is that not only can you not see these Invisalign braces unless you are right in my face but they do make my teeth look better. You can't see the gaps so easily which is great and the cement applied to a few of my teeth helps even the appearance so my teeth look level. So already I'm smiling broadly and loving the look!

Who'd have thought I'd say that about wearing braces. I wouldn't be seen without them now and it's only been a day!
