Good camera and lightings really help a lot to produce excellent pics. There are many painting errors made for both kits as usual but I think they are not obvious here.

Attended Rayd and PY's ROM ceremony yesterday. Can't think of anything to say until now:

"To the both of you, I deeply and sincerely wish you happiness in the many many years to come. I am really really happy for you both. It seems like a very simple task of just exchanging vows and maybe some pple wanna burst out laughing 'cos of your awkwardness looking at each other and saying those 'yes' 'i will'. To me, I was all smiles, dunno why. I was really happy! It's like watching a drama which ended happily but then it's like watching the beginning of a sequel to this drama which I know will be a very long and joyous one.

Maybe some pple might say 'rayd, that's the end of you', 'rayd, you are so dead', ' rayd, god bless you'. To me, I will say, 'rayd and py, hand in hand, walk this path bravely and happily. The path will not always be a smooth one, but i know and believe that you two will carry on strongly just like the way you love each other'. I will not warn you of 'what to look out for', 'you better be careful', 'this is not the way to do things' 'cos there is no value in saying things that I do not experience personally.

To me, Rayd and PY, your marriage is one made by heaven to show the rest of us what love is and this is how you got married.

Shut the **** Up!!!

There are times when I really wish the govt can just shut the **** up.

Give SG citizens money to offset GST increase give some incentives, then tell pple don't take it for granted. Give money don't wanna give lump sum. Money give so little still wanna give pple in the form of installment, so that "pple won't spend them all in one shot".
Govt.. if you wanna show some goodwill by giving back some of the $$$ you've made from GST 'investment/milking', just give them graciously. If you wanna give $$$, then whine so much after that, don't give... I rather not have it.

Mas Selamat missing for 6 weeks. Instead of putting in more effort to search for the stupid person, govt decided to remind SG pple of the previous hard work put in by the security agencies. Uncle.. so meaning to say, a school kid flunked his graduating exams but we should not forget that he has excelled throughout his study years. A murderer should be forgiven because he has been a good boy all his life before he starts murdering pple.
So govt is just trying to tell us, "Dudes, we all make mistakes. Just remember all the good things we have done in the past. Overlook our few minor misjudgements... okay? And by the way, those are not our faults, it's those stupid buggers who left him in the toilet unattended. It's them okaaay? I wasn't even there at that time!"

No wonder pm says so few local talents to fill in minister level positions.

Time for foreign talents to fill in the gaps.... AGAIN!!

Chinese New Year (Ang Baos no enough)

Happy Chinese New Year to All !!!!

So how's your ang bao collection everyone? Got hundreds or thousands of dollars??? From what I've read in the newspapers, the traditional S$4 ang bao money is no longer enough!!! As quoted by one auntie in the papers, 'because cost of living is getting higher, S$4 no enough....'

I wonder who the hell these reporters are interviewing. They interviewing those living in Holland V and Bukit Timah issit? I simply cannot find the rationale behind 'increasing ang bao money because of rising cost of living'. I get S$4 ang baos. I don't care about whatever ang bao rates nowadays. I'm pretty sure my relatives and friends' parents do not factor in cost of living when they give ang baos. Who cares about those nonsensical sh**???

Giving/ receiving hong baos is a tradition that we choose to carry out during CNY. It's not 'paying more' just because of GST increase or 'rrrrissssing cost of living'

Wake up pple... No one will care how much you want to give. No one will care how much you receive.... and please don't think you have 'profited' from this CNY... your parents are 'paying' others too......

It has been quite while since I posted. Been searching for jobs after serving my remaining NS days. The feeling of being jobless for close to 4 months is damn sad. No additional income to spend on stuff I like.. no monetary contribution to the family makes me feel damn useless.. listening to my friends talking about their jobs and stuff sucks.. feeling so shitty all these past weeks..

Anyway those were the sucky days, just found a job and have been working for 3 weeks. Can't say for now whether it's the kind of job I really like or will come to like/ dislike, but at least I am not leading an empty life now!

Should be posting abit more frequently now, if I have the effort... haahaaa!!

Christmas Island

Christmas Island - A beautiful island once under the jurisdiction of then British Singapore. The island location can be found here.

The island was a few times bigger than Sentosa and had a wide diversity of wildlife and fauna.

In 1957, sovereignty of the island was transferred to Australia for £2.9 million, an estimated value of the phosphate foregone by Singapore. (The island had phosphate resources). I don't really know the reason for this "sale". According to info from NLB, SG's impending independence caused the British to transfer ownership. (Don't understand why they so selfish....) According to my parents, the $$$ acquired from this sale is used to fund the building of Nicoll Highway... If this was true.... I can only say "....."

A small discussion with MJ, KKJ, YT and maybe YQ (don't think he was listening, he was dozing off -_-) earlier today at Mac with regards to the sale of Christmas Island suggest that the island should be sold for the $$$. Other reasons include proximity (KKJ) of island from SG, waste of resources to protect the island (YT) as well as opportunity costs (MJ who left as soon as he said this... wth).

My argument to not sell the island is only one: It belongs to SG, it is part of SG and therefore should never be sold. You don't sell your flesh just because it is useless or you can't maintain it (wateva there is to maintain, i don't know).

Christmas island is approximately the same distance away from SG and Australia.

Had the island not been sold, it could have been used as a base for military purposes. eg: Aircrafts. That way, there would have been less need for SG to use other countries air bases which is a more wasteful use of resources.

The island would have served as a better tourism attraction (better than Sentosa, which is 90% man made).

It is a mistake, in my opinion, to link everything in life to the economy. Know that the sale of an island never happened in Indonesia (despite it having so many undeveloped small islands). Why? That's because it is part of Indonesia's sovereignty. You don't sell/ throw away an island just because it is too far away/ difficult to maintain, manage.

There are many things in life that shouldn't be linked to $$$.

Tremors felt @ 1915hrs

1915hrs. I was sitting on the floor in my living room watching the History Channel documentary on Pol Pot when I felt my butt shaking. Ya man, I wasn't lifting my ass up to fart....

The tremor lasted around 10 secs.
My parents and I looked out of the window to see many curious faces looking out too. We quickly switched off all electrical appliances and went out of our home. Our neighbour was just outside and my mum began talking to her about the tremor. After that, we decided "wth, let's just go back in......."

Latest news is Indonesia was experiencing an earthquake of 7.9 at that time (Channelnewsasia)

Lone Wolf

During our primary and secondary sch days, some of us might have fondly remembered playing gamebooks such as Lone Wolf or Way of the Tiger. Computer games weren't around at that time. (well... if you wanna consider doing math problems on a 286 comp using the large squarish floppy disk as a game, i have nothing to say.......)

Playing gamebooks are so much fun and easy. All you need is a set of dices, a pencil and paper and you are set to go. But of course, the game is also very flexible enough for you to do away with the requirements and just flip to whatever page you desire! Seems like we already started learning decision making skills right from primary sch times!!!

For those who desire to wield the Sword of Sommerlund once again for Kai, your chance is here again! Lone Wolf is back again in print with a new and revised hardcover!! With expanded story content and new images, what more can you expect? GAT-X105 Strike Gundam + I.W.S.P

Been quite some time since my last post. Busy doing up my model kit. Would have completed it earlier but these few days have been raining and humid, not suitable for airbrushing. Anyway, the kit is finally completed and I really really wish to share it here.

Yes dudes, it's Strike from Gundam Seed. Changed the colour scheme a bit but you know from this trademark pose that it is the one and only Strike.
This is one kit that I wanna recommend to all Gundam hobbyists. The body proportions are done perfectly. Articulation is superb. Only a lack of posture imagination on your part can ruin this kit, slightly. I am now reconsidering my decision to get the Aile Strike kit.

Comparing with the previous mobile suits that I have done, this model is the first kit that I have the greatest satisfaction with. First, the colour scheme is one that I have always wanted to paint. The end result is great. Second, I have succeeded in modding the head to a one piece part rather than the former 2 piece part (well, as an amateur, head modding is tough man) . Third,
I can't see any flaws at all!! (they are all well hidden WAHAHAHAHA)

As I have said before, only a lack of imagination in posing the kit will ruin it. Think I need to call in Rayd to help me with this!!

So happy for you man!! Old liao lah you, don't keep saying you are a young nation la. Ok la, there are alot of old pple out there older than you I know. Those pple you showed to SG citizens still working past their retirement age right? All working with a smile on their faces, saying "Happy Bdae SG!!" So niceeee.... Ehhh... wait. How come you never show those old pple working as cleaners in the hawker centres ah? Issit because they never smile and kept frowning? Why aren't they smiling ah? Pay too low? Wkend still must work? You wanted them to continue working right?? Right????

And ya... you sure are popular dude!! Look at all the local TV channels!!! ALL OF THEM ARE BROADCASTING YOUR BIRTHDAY!!! LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!! Every channel you click is your show!!!! Even the commercials are the same for every channel!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm impressed with the way everyone in SG having NO CHOICE but to watch your NDP for 2 half hrs!!

Congrats to you SG, I thank you for accomodating me in your very little island over the past yrs.

And yes, I know you are a very small island which rises up very quickly to achieve your present status. Pls for-god-sake don't repeat this statement every year like an old man.

Just returned this Sat from Meritus Mandarin Hotel. If you have read the news this week, the annual ACDFIM was held in SG. It's basically some meeting involving all the ASEAN Chiefs of Defence. Mandarin happened to be the place where they spend their 5 days in SG. My job there, together with the rest of army personnel, was to ensure the smooth transportation of our VIPs and to account for every chauffeur involved in this event.

Mandarin is a 5 star hotel and I was privileged to be able to "stay-in" due to the duration of the event. The hotel room is spacious enough, considering the fact that 6 pple have to sleep in one bunk... I mean one room. The toilet is nice, with one nice bathtub, one toilet bowl and ..... one more toilet bowl for you to wash your ass after clearing your BIG business...

Our work area is at the first floor near the "Chatterbox" restaurant. From this area, it is easier for us to monitor our vehicles moving in and out from the carpark and main driveway. And of course, this area is also the best place for tourists to loiter about. Throughout the entire week, tourists from many countries have "patronized" our desk to query about many things as follows:

Most Frequently asked Questions
1) Where is the nearest toilet/ restroom/ bathroom?
2) Where can I check/ book in?
3) Where can I find the money changer?
4) Where can I find this place?
5) I would like to book a taxi/ bus, can I do it here?
6) How do I get out from this hotel? (asked once)
Yes, no.6 was asked once.... don't be surprised...

Of course, I would have gladly assist these tourists, but the most annoying thing is, they tend to appear when we were at our busiest moment. At one point of time, I have to handle 2 walkie talkies that kept comm-ing back, 1 telephone that kept ringing, 1 officer who kept asking about his vehicle and tourists that kept asking where the goddamn toilet is!!!! And speaking of the toilet, it is just opposite our desk, well hidden behind a door, which is also well concealed in that you have to push to realize that there is a door there..... There is no sign to direct pple to the toilet, and no hotel personnel at my area to assist the tourists. One more complain, the staff canteen food is slightly ranked lower than the SAF cookhouse food, you know what I mean.... 5 star huh?

Anyway despite all of the above, I was actually glad that I have participated in this event, I have learnt and gained a lot of experience while carrying out my job scope. This is definitely one experience I will never forget.

I really do not know what to do with you guys anymore... Is it really that hard to post one msg on the group page to state whether you can make it for soccer?? Is it really that hard to give me a msg to tell me that you can't make it for soccer?? Am I a COS??? Am I supposed to account for all those pple who are missing??? Am I supposed to know where all of you are???????? Never come means never come!!!! STOP asking me where are they where are they!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really do not know what you guys are thinking anymore..... I post every week to remind you all of soccer on sunday. Yt also help me sometimes. I even bothered to msg those who never reply to my post in the past. But all I get is CRAP!!! CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You all can tell me all sort of stuff.... sat got something to do until very late..... overslept..... etc etc etc...... at least tell me..... now no one bothers anymore....

Jap Dramas

It has been a very long time since I've watched a jap drama. One of the more memorable jdrama would be Under One Roof featuring kawaii Noriko Sakai. The last one that I've watched was GTO, but only bits and pieces of it. Since then, I stopped watching them 'cos I felt they were too egoistic and the plot always centers around a particular person (always male) creating miracles to everyone around him. I didnt watch Long Vacation (quite a hot drama at that time) becos' too many idols were involved. I didnt think jap drama has much of a future, which is why the switch to korean drama, one of the first being Full House, recommended to me by my kawaii JC junior. The only actress I recognised was Song Hye Gyo. Rain wasn't popular at that time (well... to me, he wasn't popular). Then comes a series of nice kdramas, Winter Sonata, My Name is Samsoon, Princess Hours.. on and on. Jdrama has made way for Kdrama. As with Jdrama, Korean dramas started to become stale and repetitive. There's no breakthrough watsoever. It takes one two episodes for you to figure out the entire plot. What next?

For me, I'll like jap dramas to capture the viewers once again. Recently, I come across two jdramas, Heaven's Coins and Summer Snow.

Heaven's Coins was produced 12 yrs ago, starring kawaii Noriko Sakai (you can see she's my fav). Maybe there are alot of good jap productions (good in your opinion), but I dare say Heaven's Coins is good enough to last for many many years to come. Romance, deceit, happiness all told in a short 12 ep story.

Summer Snow was produced 7 yrs ago, starring Ryoko Hirosue and Domoto Tsuyoshi. You feel romance in the air throughout the whole story. You feel happy and good when the story conveys the happy part. You feel sad (really sad) when the story tells the sad part.

A good drama has the power to influence the audience's emotions.. to make them happy when the story narrates the happy part.. to make them feel sad and cry when it tells the sad part. Jap dramas have this kind of power a few yrs ago. If the producers can bring back the kind of quality they previously had, I'm very sure they can dominate the "drama" scene for many many more yrs.

SD Wing Zero Custom (Completed finally...)

Just completed assembling and painting this SD Wing Zero after 3+ weeks of on/off hard work. My advice to those thinking of buying SD kits... If you are gonna get SD kits, pls respect the kit and kindly paint it nicely. The original mold colour is really horribly horrible. And pls exercise extreme patience as lots of masking is required to obtain the different layers of colours.

SDs are really nice kits to get. One kit costs around S$9-S$11 and the satisfaction that you get from completing the kit is enormous.

Durai wants to travel overseas, judge says "ok lo"

T T Durai will know his fate on 11th Jun when the court gives its verdict. Since the final hearing is just a little more than a week away, Durai decided to go overseas!

"Mr Durai is allowed by the court to travel overseas as he is not seen as a flight risk" - CNA

And the best part is, the prosecution didn't raise any objections to this!! Durai is allowed to return to SG as late as the DAY BEFORE HEARING. As you can see above, he plans to travel to 8 different countries. If he is to leave today, he will need to visit all 8 countries within 12 days! This is truly the Amazing Race!!!

I don't know much about the judicial system in SG, but when you are due to receive the verdict, aren't you supposed to remain in SG no matter how "peanuts" your case may be????? What does it mean when "Durai is not seen as a flight risk"?

A S$100,000 bail is like sesame seed to Durai, there is always this possibility that he might decide to "remain" overseas a little longer. Anyway I believe Durai is a man of the highest integrity. I believe that is the reason why the judge let him go 'relac' overseas before coming back to face the music.

Let's see what happens next..

2 bodies were recovered from Seletar Reservoir... One most likely drowned after his kayak capsized, the other unknown. News here.

Thanks to whoever who suggested opening up reservoirs for water related sports. Our drinking water... more polluted and "er sing" than ever before. I hope you guys ensure the water is 200% clean before sending it to all the households in SG.

By ignoring your letter, I have already stated clearly that I don't wanna contribute to the watever cause you are planning. Grads and undergrads from foreign countries like the US, Germany, UK, HK, Japan, France and Australia are allowed to come to SG on holiday and look for jobs at the same time!!... This is to encourage foreign 'talents' to come work in SG during the later stages of their careers or even after they graduate..." - ST

The SG govt, as always, is trying to attract more "foreign talents" to work in SG on a permanent basis and hopefully entice them enough to obtain a PR/ citizenship. This method of increasing SG population is far more effective and EASIER than encouraging SG pple to give birth and raise more kids for the future!! What's more, these grads are ready made talents!!! Why raise kids and waste time and $$$ on education when there is a pool of talents out there waiting to "rush" in??? Why give birth??? DON'T!!! Leave population growth to these talents!!! Let us lose whatever local culture (if there is any) that we have and degenerate into a country with no identity and whatever that is associated with it!!! Of course, the reason why TOP foreign talents would wanna come to SG still baffles me... especially talents from the US and Germany... Erm... you sure we are attracting the right group of talents? Not 2nd rated talents right?...... ya... right....

Can SG also try to entice local grads to work locally, or well.... at least help each and every one of them get a job??? As you might already know (or didn't already know), there were many grads who 'chose' to take PHD instead of working right away. Not all of them had a choice in this... the problem is they can't find companies willing to take them in. NTU, pls... before implementing any NEW, SLEEK, SOPHISTICATED course, make sure there is a demand for it before doing anything stupid.... THANKS AH....

GST Offset Package

It's here!! Finally here!! If there were still any frowning and grumbling over the recent GST hike, help is on the way!! The govt has kindly offered to help soften the GST blow by giving us an offset package over the span of not one, not two, but four goddamn years!! All who claim to be citizens of SG can apply for your SOS package here. Oh, if you've served your dreaded, waste-time NS, you get an additional one-time bonus of one grand!! Everyone shld thank our beloved govt for helping us financially to cope with the GST hike. Without this hike, we wouldn't have gotten this great deal!! Wow.....

You might be wondering, "Why four years only???" Simple, GE will be happening around that time. So, if you wish to continue to receive monetary assistance, you all know what-to-do ya?

F1 Coming to SG!!!

Singapore finally fulfils its dream to host the F1 World Championship!!! Details of the report can be found in SG's very own official F1 website.

It has taken many many years (10+ yrs) for SG to get this precious license. In case some of you guys didn't already know, SG had a Grand Prix during the late 60s to 70s before street racing was banned due to "worries that drivers might street race all over SG and cause accidents". I wonder whether hosting F1 racing now will result in us literally playing Need for Speed on the roads..

Lunch at Mac yesterday with Rayd and KKJ had us discussing about this upcoming hype. We were also quite worried about the effects the F1 is gonna have on us:

Rayd: Overtaking and cutting 3 cars in quick succession with his trusty 10+ yr old Nissan "Super Saloon".
KKJ: E-braking his vehicle in an attempt to shake off a tailgating competitor (with his best friend MJ as his vehicle commander).
Me: Getting high in driving at night... (not discussed yesterday, just adding in)

Another radical idea was to use the F1 track and have a gold-kart racing! Sounds fun? 5kms of gold-karting sounds exciting. The thought of sabotaging pple's karts by blazing their fuel tanks and dropping tyre puncturing spikes seems kool too!!!

Seems like Malaysia also wanna host night racing too next year. Kiasu? Whatever SG does, M wanna follow as well. Mr M, pls have some creativity..

First Post. New Beginning.

What can I say? My first time dabbling with an online blog. Many things to learn, many things to say. This blog will be used as a place for me to vent my frustrations as well as my joy and happiness. I'll also be posting pics of any model kits that I might have done up. All these are basically just to satisfy my own ego.

Any posts that I made here will be what I, myself as an individual, think. I can be biased in my comments, but then again, who isn't?

Okie, now to figure out what I can do with this blog....
