New "unlimited music" service to launch

In the latest attempt to crack-down on illegal music downloads through services such as file-sharing, p2p networks, Universal Music have teamed up with Virgin Media to offer a monthly subscription service which will allow users to download unlimited amounts of music.

The fee is thought to be around £10-£15 when launched, and when it is, check back here for a review of this unlimited music service.

If you hadn't heard, iTunes, Apples amazingly popular digital music download service, has recently increased the prices of the 33 most popular songs in it's Top 100 seller list. This price increase means that instead of paying 99 cents for one of these tracks, you will now have to fork out $1.25.

MP3 and iPod Compatibility

One question I get asked often is "Can the music bought on these cheap MP3 websites be used on my iPod"?

And you'll be pleased to know, the answer is "Yes"! There are no catches to the MP3 files available to buy on the websites I review - they are standard MP3 files that you can play on your computer, burn to CD, or play on your iPod!

MP3 Fiesta Payment Problems

It has come to my attention that for the past few weeks MP3 Fiesta has had problems when depositing money into your account.

If you have money in your account you are still able to download music as usual, but their system does not currently allow you to top-up your balance with extra credit.

If they resolve this issue I will keep you updated, but for now I would recommend downloading your MP3 music from another site.

Soundike.com - Business as usual

Following my post yesterday regarding the domain problems with Soundike.com, there issues have now been resolved and so their usual website is back up and running with all your account and deposit information as they were before the change.

I have been in touch with a representative of the site and due to some issues with their domain, they are currently running from SoundDike.com (notice the double 'd'). As far as I know, your account should be intact and you won't have lost any money from this change.

New Releases

It's been a while since I posted anything so I thought I would come back with a helpful post that should make it easier for you to find the song you want quickly and easily.

Every MP3 site reviewed has a "New Releases" section in which they list the latest tracks added to their ever-expanding database of songs. This can be useful for when you want to download a song that has only just been released, so it may be worth bookmarking your favourite page from those below to make sure you know exactly when the song you want is available!

If you have already been to the MP3 website reviews page, you will have already noticed that a new review has been added to the list. And not only that, it has gone straight to number 1!

New Payments Structure on LegalSounds

LegalSounds.com have recently changed the deposit amounts for which you can top up your Legal Sounds balance. They have removed the $20 option, and introduced a new $39 deposit amount option - which is random to say the least!

However it does provide a better range of options when you decide to top up your account, as they have removed the $20 option in favor of this $39 amount.

Iomoio temporarily removed

It seems that Iomoio is having technical problems with their payment processing system, so I have temporarily removed them from the mp3 website review list.

I will let you know when they are back up-and-running, but in the mean-time, I urge you to check out LegalSounds, as they offer the same service for a similar price.

stop posting links on p2p searches for all titles and artists, or I will ... post your individual address across the web

I honestly have no idea what this person is talking about - I personally do not use p2p networks, and wouldn't even know where to begin to advertise on them. I certainly don't condone spamming of any sorts.

If you are the one that is placing links to buycheapmp3s.com via this method - please stop.

If you register with Iomoio.com they will give you $0.30 for free, which is enough to download 2 MP3 songs with! All you have to do is register, then click a link in the email they send you so they can confirm your email address. Easy!

AllOfMP3 Closes

Well, one of the most well known MP3 download sites, AllOfMp3.com, was shut down this week. It seems that it has been a victim of Russia's attempt to gain entry to the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Bad news, you may think, for the other sites reviewed on BuyCheapMp3s.com, but I have been reliably informed by a contact at Iomoio.com that they are operating under a different license to AllOfMp3 and so are here to stay, so you have no need to worry.
