Both designers are also available for special custom orders. On the walls, Velouria Gallery will be featuring local artist, Mary Louise and her sea-creature inspired paintings. Ballard artwalk is coming! Saturday, June 13th from 6pm-9pm, we will be having refreshments, drinks and friends in to celebrate the new month.

This month, jewelry designer Amy Bengtson will be here showcasing old favorites and new designs all day long! She will be in store from 11am until 9pm with fun discounts, special offers and beautiful jewelry.

Also featured this month is special guest, Portland clothing designer, Frocky Jack Morgan. Her beautiful deconstructed dresses, tops and gowns will be in-shop on display. If you have any events coming up that you will need a gorgeous, hip dress, you won't want to miss this.

On the wall for June will be artist Danna Ray with her summery drawings, paintings and prints.

Ballard Art Walk this Saturday!

Please join us for the monthly Ballard Art Walk, this Saturday the 9th of May from 6pm to 9pm!

This month's feature is Seattle-based clothing designer Out of Line by Beki Wilson, a finalist in the recent Seamless in Seattle Fashion Competition. Her jersey and denim skirts, tops, and dresses are must-haves for the coming summer weather.

Also featured for the month of May is Portland-based fine artist Rachel Austin. She will be showcasing recent paintings--whimsical scenes of birds and trees on ephemera such as maps and book pages.

This month we will be featuring Portland based artist Yellena James. Originally from Sarajevo, Yellena attended art school to pursue her passion for art and design which has carried with her here in the states. Her work combines complex abstract forms into dazzling images which take lives of their own.

We will also be featuring local designer Deco Modiste's Spring 2009 collection. Each piece includes beautiful colors and patterns intertwined with a vintage flair.

This month we will be featuring the works of Portland based artist Elizabeth Soule. In this series, "Letting the Horses Loose," Elizabeth uses Polaroid images of tiny toy horses mounted on wooden block frames in various and intriguing colors and angles.

We've just received an adorable shipment from a new featured jewelry designer at Velouria, Houston based Leviticus Jewelry. All pieces are hand crafted blending antique and art together with copper, raw brass and sterling silver.

Spring is beginning to bloom in Velouria

New goodies for spring are starting to arrive, just in time to spread a little cheer during this crazy Seattle weather!

Local designer Una has brought in her new spring collection full of adorable organic cotton jersey tops and dresses in rich colors like graphite, saffron and tomato that are not only flattering but extremely comfortable. Each piece can be worn solo or layered for the fluctuating temperatures.

Also in are new Classic style dresses from California based designer She Bible that compliment the voluptuous and lean figures alike. Made of a bamboo, hemp, and cotton jersey blends, the Classic dress is one that can be worn comfortably with a pair of sandals to the market, or dressed up with a great pair of heels for a night on the town.

We are excited about all the upcoming events and new goodies coming in for 2009!

First off, our annual Winter Sale is underway!

We will also be featuring returning local fine artist Joey Bates.
