I know I just posted Emiko &amp; Luke's photos yesterday, but I was going through them this morning again and I found a few more that I just couldn't resist posting. I couldn't decide which one of these was my favorite... so I'm posting all three. <br /><center><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2253111862/" title="emikoluke22 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2411/2253111862_036aa17f71_o.jpg" width="772" height="582" alt="emikoluke22" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2252320601/" title="emikoluke23 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2024/2252320601_91d94bc8ac_o.jpg" width="772" height="582" alt="emikoluke23" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2253111942/" title="emikoluke24 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2196/2253111942_5a2af904f7_o.jpg" width="522" height="832" alt="emikoluke24" /></a><br /></center><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-561289655923156340?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-30241593098989062242008-02-08T14:25:00.000-08:002008-02-08T16:19:05.965-08:00Emiko & Luke Married!Wow, Emiko and Luke's wedding at <a href="http://www.calamigos.com/">Calamigos Ranch</a> was FABULOUS! I love what I do and I love all weddings, but this one was was extra special for so many reasons. First off, Emiko did all of the flowers herself (amazing) and put so many special touches into the details like programs and hand folded origami cranes for every guest (also amazing). They were also just so in love that they were radiating happiness, which really just made my day :)<br /><br />I try to keep these posts down to a manageable size but I fear I may have let this one get out of control. Oh well... more for you to browse :) We started out the day with Emiko as she started the transformation from beautiful woman to beautiful bride.<br /><center><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2241551154/" title="emikoluke2 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2334/2241551154_6c3a98b8ef_o.jpg" alt="emikoluke2" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2251524124/" title="emikoluke5 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2265/2251524124_84324ed344_o.jpg" alt="emikoluke5" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">How could I not love photographing a wedding where the bride was THIS excited? I don't care who or what you vote for... but please just go VOTE! And if you're a photographer, bring your camera and document it for the <a href="http://pollingplaces.nytimes.com/">New York Times polling place photo project</a>. I'll be voting around lunchtime (and brining my camera) so look for a photo later today. If you're still reading this... what are you doing? Get out and vote!<br /><br />*edit* So I'm back! No line (I'm hoping it's just because it was early, not because no one is voting!) I was worried that taking photos inside wasn't allowed... so I only took a couple quick snaps of the outside. Yay for polling places that are walking distance from the house!<br /><center><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2244307991/" title="vote3 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2275/2244307991_5a8c17d29c_o.jpg" width="522" height="832" alt="vote3" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2245101208/" title="vote2 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2204/2245101208_e20c2ea0cd_o.jpg" width="772" height="582" alt="vote2" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2245101150/" title="vote1 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2217/2245101150_dbf3278959_o.jpg" width="772" height="582" alt="vote1" /></a><br /></center><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-5855234906044039113?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-58043925602515494602008-02-04T08:42:00.000-08:002008-02-04T08:40:55.151-08:00The Best Kind of LoveEmiko and Luke had an absolutely gorgeous wedding at <a href="http://www.calamigos.com/">Calamigos Ranch</a> in Malibu this weekend and I was lucky enough to be invited by <a href="http://itsjustsillyme.blogspot.com/">Crissy</a> to come along to help capture the day. My full post will have to wait as I have a jam-packed week coming up, but I couldn't resist a little teaser of their wedding :)<br /><br />They had a beautiful day, a beautiful location, and a heartfelt ceremony, but I have to say that the thing that made this wedding really truly amazing was their love for each other. The kind of love that makes you break out into a cheesy grin. Now that's the stuff that I love to capture! I can't wait to show you all of the images from this amazing day but for now I think this one sums it up. Check out that massive grin... I love it!<br /><br /><center><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2240755071/" title="emikoluke4 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2114/2240755071_80719129c1_o.jpg" alt="emikoluke4" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /></center><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-5804392560251549460?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-26439830598351575792008-02-03T16:08:00.000-08:002008-02-03T16:17:27.291-08:00Say Hello to Herbert!<center><div style="text-align: left;">If you've been following my blog, you'll know that Ben and I had a rough winter with the loss of our lovable family dog Rita. Our house just hasn't been the same without the jingle of a collar and a friendly face at the door to greet us on our return home.<br /><br />Which is why I am overjoyed to introduce you to the newest member of our family... a spunky little guy we've decided to call Herbert! We're calling him Herbie for short, and he's quite a handful. He's a fully grown rescue dog (of course) which means he comes with a bundle of issues, but we love him in spite of all of his quirks. He came home with us on Thursday night and has been learning the rules of the house (although he seems quite unhappy with the "no dogs on the couch" rule). I am so happy that we were able to find a lovable dog that needed a good home, and that we finally have that excited jingle when we come through the door (now complete with a full body wag as well). I seem to be totally incapable of stopping myself from taking photos of my pets so expect periodic Herbie posts from now on.... but for the moment here is just one introductory shot of our fabulous new friend!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2240738306/" title="herbie2 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2323/2240738306_6acf68f14e_o.jpg" alt="herbie2" height="831" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">On a totally unrelated note... I just shot an amazing wedding in Malibu yesterday and I cannot wait to show you some of my favorites. I may be posting a teaser later today, and expect a full post later this week!<br /></div></center><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-2643983059835157579?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-32554053814553906562008-01-29T21:25:00.000-08:002008-01-29T22:14:40.916-08:00Get Ready for Gorgeous!<center><div style="text-align: left;">Well I have to say... picking favorites for this post was one of the toughest things I've had to do in a long time... this shoot was just so much fun, and Valena is just so GORGEOUS that it was impossible to take a bad photo of her. Here are a couple of the best... but the rest are all amazing as well. Enjoy!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2230314392/" title="valena1 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2231/2230314392_c937e7d1c7_o.jpg" alt="valena1" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2229520889/" title="valena6 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2301/2229520889_ef6f42b8bb_o.jpg" alt="valena6" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2230344084/" title="valena8 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2245/2230344084_c9286984cf_o.jpg" alt="valena8" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">One of the things that made this shoot so fun was that she was wearing such a ridiculously cute dress! Valena is not only a super mom, she's also amazingly crafty as well. One of her best talents is that she is a fabulous seamstress... she made not only a beautiful floor length strapless gown for her wedding, but a fun mini version for the reception as well. I love it! I also couldn't get enough of this concrete wall...<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2229520927/" title="valena3 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2172/2229520927_06cfccbd40_o.jpg" alt="valena3" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2230314242/" title="valena5 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2188/2230314242_9b76be7f2a_o.jpg" alt="valena5" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2230344044/" title="valena7 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2048/2230344044_4e0a5b2cdd_o.jpg" alt="valena7" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Ok ok... only one more on the big concrete wall... just because it's so much fun :) Check out that air... and in heels!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2230388290/" title="valena12 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2144/2230388290_feaea9dc08_o.jpg" alt="valena12" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2229588419/" title="valena11 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2323/2229588419_6b1128eab4_o.jpg" alt="valena11" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2229567161/" title="valena9 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2347/2229567161_0e0a1e8db2_o.jpg" alt="valena9" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l !!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2230360358/" title="valena4 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2157/2230360358_13e1b1a760_o.jpg" alt="valena4" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /></center><br />Thank you Valena for being such a stunning (and fun) model. Doing bridal sessions after the wedding is so much fun because we can go crazy and get some amazing shots, without the bride worrying about mussing her dress a bit. I love love love all of the photos, she's just so darned photogenic! I will post more photos later this week... but for now a sneak peak!<br /><br /><center><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2225612996/" title="valena2 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2347/2225612996_33acb04c63_o.jpg" width="522" height="832" alt="valena2" /></a></center><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-6190763935550425012?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-4427600906664543992008-01-18T19:41:00.000-08:002008-01-18T20:30:12.290-08:00Dallas Wedding WeekendOk here goes... photos from my weekend in Dallas. There were two main reasons for me to travel to Texas; number one because my cousin Emily was gettin' hitched (yippee!) and number two because my brother is going to be marrying one of my best friends Tara in Dallas this fall as well (double yippee!) and we were going to scout locations and dresses for their wedding. We had a super packed and busy weekend, which was exhausting but SO much fun. I took lots of photos and I'm just warning you now this is going to be a whopper of a post... so sit back, grab a cup of tea and settle it, here we go!<br /><br />The first thing that we did when we got in was attend the rehearsal. My mom and Tara got to work decorating the pews...<br /><center><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2203212044/" title="dallas16 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2227/2203212044_146610da62_o.jpg" alt="dallas16" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">The MOB (mother of the bride for those that don't speak wedding) my aunt Sue looking so proud!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2203212072/" title="dallas17 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2148/2203212072_583d6709e6_o.jpg" alt="dallas17" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">And the father of the bride, my uncle Mike, taking photos :) <br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2202421453/" title="dallas18 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2388/2202421453_5943956838_o.jpg" alt="dallas18" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">The happy couple, walking down the aisle after the rehearsal...<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2203189906/" title="dallas15 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2294/2203189906_dc0f7fffef_o.jpg" alt="dallas15" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">The next day was WEDDING DAY! It was fun to experience a wedding day as a guest instead of as a photographer, but of course you couldn't pry the camera out of my hands if you tried... so I had to grab a couple of shots here and there. The next few are from Emily's bridal brunch.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2203212276/" title="dallas21 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2018/2203212276_afb3ef9f20_o.jpg" alt="dallas21" height="507" width="730" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">The bride and her momma :)<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2203212228/" title="dallas20 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2154/2203212228_aaa97faaeb_o.jpg" alt="dallas20" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">All of the bridesmaids looking fabulous<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2202421537/" title="dallas19 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2038/2202421537_088949a506_o.jpg" alt="dallas19" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Emily toasting her bridesmaids and thanking them.... such a sweet speech! I love girly get togethers!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2202421719/" title="dallas22 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2236/2202421719_ddd7aee182_o.jpg" alt="dallas22" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Between the brunch and the wedding we headed out dress shopping for Tara (I told you it was a packed weekend!!) I am holding myself back from posting any photos of her actually <span style="font-style: italic;">in</span> a wedding dress, as I hear it's bad luck for Chris to see her in one before the big day. <br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2203189756/" title="dallas13 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2420/2203189756_02eee5659b_o.jpg" alt="dallas13" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">The other thing that made my trip extra-fabulous was that I got to see one of my absolute best friends Jean. Tara, Jean and I were like 3 peas in a pod in college. We were all in the same architecture studio together, all rowed crew together, and basically spent all our time together :) I was so happy that Jean drove up from Houston to hang out with us on Saturday! I just had to throw her in front of the camera though, no one is safe around me :)<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2203161102/" title="dallas9 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2192/2203161102_d3200d78b4_o.jpg" alt="dallas9" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">How gorgeous is she? I have such good looking friends!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2203161150/" title="dallas10 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2136/2203161150_266206358d_o.jpg" alt="dallas10" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2202370599/" title="dallas11 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2378/2202370599_8a1d248469_o.jpg" alt="dallas11" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Tara and Jean together.. so cute!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2203161228/" title="dallas12 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2283/2203161228_944d8fca91_o.jpg" alt="dallas12" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">And of course I couldn't forget Tara's sister. They are so adorable together!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2203189824/" title="dallas14 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2392/2203189824_c01b9dd401_o.jpg" alt="dallas14" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">And now, finally... on to the wedding! There was no photography allowed during the ceremony and I wasn't around for the getting ready... which only leaves the reception. I did my best to stay out of the way of the hired photographer, <a href="http://www.vimstudio.com/vim2/index.php">Sarah Holt from VIM studio</a> (who is awesome by the way!) so I mostly took photos of my family, plus a few dancing shots just for fun :) Here are my parents looking sharp<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2202941572/" title="dallas8 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2145/2202941572_233aefccb9_o.jpg" alt="dallas8" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">And Chris and Tara, looking ridiculous. Don't worry, that face was on purpose. They don't always look like that :)<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2202150721/" title="dallas7 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2393/2202150721_35ac7a4f77_o.jpg" alt="dallas7" height="452" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">I think this one is hilarious. I always tease my sister that her mannerisms are slowly turning into those of my mom... and I think this shot proves it! <br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2202150677/" title="dallas6 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2304/2202150677_27d01ce74f_o.jpg" alt="dallas6" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Allison with the happy bride &amp; groom<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2202941364/" title="dallas3 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2162/2202941364_aaa23e6900_o.jpg" alt="dallas3" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">This dancing shot of my parents is one of my favorites of the night, so sweet!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2202941412/" title="dallas4 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2291/2202941412_3321163191_o.jpg" alt="dallas4" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">And a little more dancing action. The party was a total blast!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2202941454/" title="dallas5 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2396/2202941454_2c3fa3b022_o.jpg" alt="dallas5" height="580" width="790" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Just as the night was winding down I glanced over and caught this shot, Emily with her parents in such a sweet moment. She is definitely daddy's (and mommy's) little girl! It was so touching to see the love between them.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2202941332/" title="dallas2 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2095/2202941332_216ddc99e4_o.jpg" alt="dallas2" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /></center><br />So there you have it! My ridiculously long Dallas weekend wrap-up post! I had such an amazing time and I'm so happy for you Eric &amp; Emily!! Congratulations on your marriage and I hope you're having a fantastic time on your honeymoon. <br />Chris &amp; Tara, you're next! I can't wait for your wedding in Dallas this fall, it's going to be amazing I'm sure. Thank you so much to Jean for driving all the way up to see us, you looked fantastic and I can't wait until you move closer so we can hang out all the time :)<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-442760090666454399?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-5083945850898828682008-01-17T21:19:00.000-08:002008-01-17T21:22:49.174-08:00All Fixed!Well after a hectic afternoon it appears that the email contact form issue has been resolved. I sent a couple of test emails to myself (don't laugh, it was the only way!) and they seem to have gone through so I'm going to trust that it's working again. If you did happen to send me an email and not get a response, please do feel free to resend it. I won't mind, I love email :)<br /><br />And just to prove that I do have more posts coming... here is a sneak peak from my Dallas weekend extravaganza post. Hopefully to be uploaded tomorrow. This is my sister and her boyfriend.... awww how cute!<br /><center><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2200524983/" title="dallas1 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2305/2200524983_b078e6ff10_o.jpg" width="772" height="582" alt="dallas1" /></a></center><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-508394585089882868?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-2788940731627195972008-01-17T14:54:00.000-08:002008-01-17T14:59:25.869-08:00Contact Email Issues! It has come to my attention that the contact me page on my website is not working properly. I hadn't noticed because my email address IS still working, so if you have been sending me email the old fashioned way (using your email client instead of the contact form) I have received (and most likely responded to) your emails. It is only the emails coming FROM THE WEBSITE that aren't working. <br /><br />I'm not sure how long this has been going on, and I am SO SORRY for the inconvenience. If you have sent me an email in the last couple of days and you haven't gotten a response, it's probably because I never got the message! I will obviously get this straightened out right away!<br /><br />In the meantime, if you need to get in touch with me please send all email to <a href="mailto:info@katyregnier.com">info@katyregnier.com</a> and I will get back to you as soon as possible. <br /><br />Sorry for the trouble and thank you for your patience! I'll let you know when this is all worked out.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-278894073162719597?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-76213203134703540122008-01-15T21:20:00.000-08:002008-01-16T20:31:37.728-08:00Ricci & Mike Married!Well I'm back from my whirlwind trip to Dallas! It was an exhausting weekend, but a ton of fun as well. I have been running around non-stop since I got home, but I've finally taken just a few minutes to pick out a few of my favorites from last week's <a href="http://www.theparkerpalmsprings.com/index.php">Parker Hotel</a> wedding.<br /><br />Ricci and Mike chose to have a small intimate wedding with only family and close friends. The setting was gorgeous and the family was beautiful as well! Since it was such a small wedding they opted to hold off on their reception and went to a quiet family dinner instead. It was such a wonderful way to share their love for each other and their families and I am so honored that I was able to play a part in such a special day. I am still going through my photos searching for favorites, but these are just a few that jumped out at me on the first pass.<br /><br />First up some details.... I just couldn't get enough pictures of these shoes :)<br /><center><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2196212223/" title="ricci11 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2277/2196212223_660b716f70_o.jpg" alt="ricci11" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2197019880/" title="ricci12 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2331/2197019880_ed03e916eb_o.jpg" alt="ricci12" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Some final touches... adding the earrings<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2199128942/" title="Untitled by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2336/2199128942_94fcd227c4_o.jpg" alt="" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">A quick shot of Ricci with her beautiful daughter before the ceremony<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2196231093/" title="ricci13 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2190/2196231093_818a355429_o.jpg" alt="ricci13" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Ricci, her father, and her daughter before the ceremony. I just returned home from a super-quick trip out to Palm Springs where I shot an amazing intimate family wedding at the <a href="http://www.theparkerpalmsprings.com/index.php">Parker hotel</a> with <a href="http://itsjustsillyme.blogspot.com">Crissy</a>. I am leaving tomorrow for a trip to Dallas and I won't have time to edit and post my favorites from this wedding until I get back... but I couldn't just go a whole weekend without posting any photos. So instead I'm going to leave you with just one...<br /><br />With a bride in shoes as funky as this, you know you're in for a great day!<br /><center><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2184347151/" title="ricci1 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2137/2184347151_ef8eb263d5_o.jpg" width="772" height="582" alt="ricci1" /></a><br /></center><br /><br />Stay tuned to the blog early next week for the full post on my first '08 wedding!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-7897423027702993891?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-4548639775679410062008-01-07T21:46:00.000-08:002008-01-07T22:13:48.207-08:00Long Overdue Holiday RecapWell the holidays are officially over. It's been a busy couple of weeks so I haven't had much time to update the blog. I was hoping to put up a separate Christmas post before new years but clearly that didn't happen... so now you just have to sit through my Christmas and new years posts all at once. And get comfortable because this is about to be a long one, but trust me... this is the abridged version. You're lucky I didn't post photos from my family white elephant gift exchange :)<br /><br />My favorite part about going home for the holidays is getting to spend time with friends and family. We typically play a lot of games, mostly apples to apples (which I love) and boggle (which I love even more... I think it may just be the best game ever invented!)<br /><center><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177411172/" title="holidays1 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2420/2177411172_6c77eb5cd6_o.jpg" alt="holidays1" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177411296/" title="holidays3 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2191/2177411296_65c4a69cb3_o.jpg" alt="holidays3" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">We also have a tradition in my family of always building ginger bread houses at Christmas. Leave it to Ben the architect to build a crazy round house. It was pretty fabulous.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177411364/" title="holidays4 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2325/2177411364_e43928cd63_o.jpg" alt="holidays4" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">On Christmas morning we open all of our presents in our pajamas like little kids. I will spare Ben the embarrassment of posting photos of him in his pajamas :) but I couldn't help posting this one of my sister. Just look at the excitement on her face! You'd never guess that gift was a pillow. Yes. A pillow. She's easy to please :)<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177428882/" title="holidays5 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2047/2177428882_12e6cd8a62_o.jpg" alt="holidays5" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">She painted an amazing landscape (from a photo she took in Maui) for her boyfriend for his gift. Isn't it gorgeous? She is a super talented artist.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177428944/" title="holidays6 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2408/2177428944_159f6c37ac_o.jpg" alt="holidays6" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">One of Ben's favorite gifts was his new photo toy. I think now we're going to have ridiculous numbers of photos of each other holding our cameras because every time I went to take a photo of him, he was pointing his camera right back at me. Oh dear.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2176638375/" title="holidays7 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2121/2176638375_91d1b0bfa1_o.jpg" alt="holidays7" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">After opening presents we usually go to visit friends at their house. This year they had a new dog that I'd never met before and Oh My Gosh it was about the cutest thing that I have ever seen. They're lucky I didn't steal her!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177429026/" title="holidays8 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2408/2177429026_183b4ecdec_o.jpg" alt="holidays8" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Ok so that's the Christmas photos... but now it's time for the new years batch! We headed out to Palm Springs for the weekend with my sister and Mark, John and Valena, and my parents. What better way to spend new years eve in the desert than going to an arcade and playing mini golf?<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177459032/" title="holidays12 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2268/2177459032_f9066e77ae_o.jpg" alt="holidays12" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Allison has a <a href="http://photomylife.blogspot.com/">photo-a-day blog</a> which she had been sadly behind on updating due to a broken camera. She got it fixed for Christmas so it was back in action on this trip. Here she is in full photographer mode.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2176668549/" title="holidays11 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2342/2176668549_6738562754_o.jpg" alt="holidays11" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177459142/" title="holidays14 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2162/2177459142_d6f48d0592_o.jpg" alt="holidays14" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Mark and John tallying the score. I lost. By a lot. I do not have a golf career in my future :)<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2176668713/" title="holidays13 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2338/2176668713_afdda0d925_o.jpg" alt="holidays13" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">After mini golf we went back to the house and had some time to kill before midnight. So of course in an attempt to entertain ourselves we had to balance things on each others noses.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177459204/" title="holidays15 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2111/2177459204_ceef78172a_o.jpg" alt="holidays15" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2176668887/" title="holidays16 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2242/2176668887_41dbfc9070_o.jpg" alt="holidays16" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">And play lots and lots of wii. I became addicted to the <a href="http://raymanzone.us.ubi.com/ravingrabbids/index.html">Rayman Rabbids</a> game. The dancing bunnies are hilarious.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2176668953/" title="holidays17 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2274/2176668953_bf3e6cd725_o.jpg" alt="holidays17" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">We got all festive with hilarious party hats and noise makers...<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177480432/" title="holidays18 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2239/2177480432_a56c655da5_o.jpg" alt="holidays18" height="684" width="634" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">And at midnight had copious amounts of confetti.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177480512/" title="holidays19 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2262/2177480512_6ccf2032af_o.jpg" alt="holidays19" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177523064/" title="holidays21 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2417/2177523064_b319f15a00_o.jpg" alt="holidays21" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">At the end of the night we were all pretty wiped out. I think maybe those faces were from thinking about how hard it would be to clean up all the confetti :)<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2177480570/" title="holidays20 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2148/2177480570_0413420000_o.jpg" alt="holidays20" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">And to finish up the set... a ridiculous self portrait of Ben and I in party hats. Don't we look awesome?<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2176620481/" title="holidays2 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2200/2176620481_f8a927a767_o.jpg" alt="holidays2" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">All in all it was a wonderful holiday season. If you made it to the bottom of this post, congratulations. That was a lot of Regnier family holiday to wade through :) I hope you all had a wonderful new year. Stay tuned to the blog in the next few days, I'm heading out for my first wedding of the year on Thursday so there's lots of excitement yet to come!<br /></div></center><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-454863977567941006?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-39609247148274451262008-01-03T10:23:00.000-08:002008-01-03T10:35:40.585-08:00New Photos for a New Year<center><div style="text-align: left;">In December I called up my friend Crissy to see if she would be willing to take some new photos of me for my website and blog. She is crazy and fun like me and my one and only request for our session was that my pictures be fun! I have to add here that I am not terribly good in front of the camera if I'm by myself.... I tend to squint up my eyes and laugh nervously. I think she did a great job of making me look less ridiculous than I really do :)<br />I haven't seen all of the photos yet... and I definitely haven't decided which ones are going on my website yet, but here is a sneak peak (all photos snagged from <a href="http://itsjustsillyme.blogspot.com/">her blog</a>). Thanks Crissy for a super fun afternoon!<br /></div><br /><img src="http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h171/nbbutterfly079/blog1-4.jpg" /><br /><br /><img src="http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h171/nbbutterfly079/blog3-3.jpg" /><br /><br /><img src="http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h171/nbbutterfly079/blog2-4.jpg" /><br /><br /><img src="http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h171/nbbutterfly079/blog6-3.jpg" /><br /><br /><img src="http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h171/nbbutterfly079/blog5-3.jpg" /><br /><br /><img src="http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h171/nbbutterfly079/blog4-3.jpg" /><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><br />Towards the end of our session we were getting a bit loopy so she made me throw my shoe at her. I was nervous that I was going to whack her in the head (or worse the camera) with my shoe. Hence the face :)<br /><br /></div><img src="http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h171/nbbutterfly079/blog9-2.jpg" /><br /><br /><img src="http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h171/nbbutterfly079/blog8-2.jpg" /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Thanks Crissy for the fabulous photos. I hope that you all are enjoying time with friends and family. I for one am eating profusely :) Tonight is our big family dinner so I must get back to cooking and baking, but I just wanted to send out a quick holiday greeting. Happy Holidays!<br /><br /></div><img src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_deI7DUzzlQc/R2tmo1b-v0I/AAAAAAAADD0/H3obOYRpURs/s1600/day285.jpg" /></center><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-2017212846399192565?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-68116477942880547022007-12-23T13:24:00.000-08:002007-12-23T13:35:20.418-08:00A Very, Very, Sad DayFor those of you who don't consider pets part of the family you might as well stop reading now. <br /><br />Ben and I had always wanted a dog and when we moved to Los Angeles we finally had the chance. We made sure to rent a place that was large enough, and with a yard, and that allowed pets. We knew we could never buy a dog, I was brought up with rescue dogs (we always had at least two, sometimes as many as four) and they were always the quirkiest and sweetest mutts imaginable.<br /><br />We adopted Rita in early August of 2006 and she was quite the feisty pup. A rescue dog multiple times over, she was up in years (about 6 or 7 when we got her) so she wasn't a dog that anyone else wanted. But she was sweet and adorable (in an unidentifiable mutt type of a way) and we loved her immediately. From the day we adopted her she became an important part of our family, traveling with us every time we hit the road, and taking up most of our conversations with friends and family.<br /><br />Last night she had a terrible accident and didn't make it. Ben took her to the emergency vet, but it was too late and there was nothing they could do. We are so so heartbroken. While she wasn't young she had so many years left in her and since it was so sudden and unexpected, it was especially hard to handle. If you're not a pet person this whole thing may seem a little over exaggerated, but if you've ever loved a pet as a part of your family, I hope you'll understand how much pain this has caused us.<br /><br />At this Christmas time it's just another reminder to me, to love your friends and family fiercely, and to tell them every day how much they mean to you. Savoring every moment is the only way to live life. We will miss our little Rita dearly!<br /><center><br /><img src="http://katyregnier.com/blog/rita.jpg" /><br /></center><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-6811647794288054702?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-84529403667004529572007-12-19T16:36:00.000-08:002007-12-19T17:25:41.735-08:00Lighting Fun - More Photos!<div style="text-align: left;">Ok well I finally have a spare second to blog! The holiday craziness is definitely catching up to me so I haven't had much in the way of free time lately.<br /><br />On Sunday <a href="http://itsjustsillyme.blogspot.com">Crissy</a> and I brought our gear and husbands out to a park in LA to try out some new off camera lighting techniques. Having spent the morning poring over <a href="http://www.strobist.blogspot.com/">strobist</a> and trying to memorize some rules of thumb, we pretty much just decided we'd try a bit of everything and see what happened. Trial and error if you will... we definitely learned a lot and we will definitely be heading out again to try out some more fun tricks. Here are a couple of my favorite shots from Sunday.<br /><br />Marcus and Ben were both supposed to be our <del>guinea pigs</del> models but Ben preferred to be on the other side of the camera helping out with the equipment, so most of the shots we took were of Marcus. Thanks for being such a ham :)<br /></div><center><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2123166471/" title="lightup10 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2342/2123166471_c4c7f4896d_o.jpg" alt="lightup10" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2123940878/" title="lightup9 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2062/2123940878_74aafe414e_o.jpg" alt="lightup9" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2123940700/" title="lightup5 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2193/2123940700_12bbc2ee90_o.jpg" alt="lightup5" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2123940838/" title="lightup8 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2397/2123940838_6f22eac7ba_o.jpg" alt="lightup8" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">After the sun went down at the park it got absolutely freezing cold, so we decided to move to a new location. We found some abandoned railroad tracks and old buildings... perfect for trying out complete blackness off-camera lighting. (which I must admit is trickier since you have no ambient fill light)<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2123166267/" title="lightup6 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2343/2123166267_8dbfa2b075_o.jpg" alt="lightup6" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2123166341/" title="lightup7 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2190/2123166341_cd0a601e3d_o.jpg" alt="lightup7" height="682" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">This is one of my favorites!<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2123166169/" title="lightup4 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2317/2123166169_b925bebc40_o.jpg" alt="lightup4" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">As we were walking back to the car we noticed a couple of "found light" opportunities, which is what the next two shots are. We did learn a lot and get some awesome and actually useful shots, but we had a lot of fun too :)<br /><br />More to come soon...<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2116948929/" title="lightup1 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2157/2116948929_fa0b3c2f2e_o.jpg" alt="lightup1" height="832" width="522" /></a></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-5702847935494608361?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-23725390961835579732007-12-13T00:01:00.000-08:002007-12-13T00:05:29.418-08:00A Little Something NewWell I am just finishing up editing photos from my last engagement session and I decided to try something a little bit different on one of my images. I'm usually more of a vibrant colors type of person... but this one seemed a little moody and so I decided to try out a more desaturated look. I have been seeing this look in a lot of my favorite photographers' work so I thought it was at least worth a shot :) What do you think? Like it? Love it? Think it stinks?<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2107664241/" title="rockyeddie13 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2089/2107664241_cae861c70e_o.jpg" alt="rockyeddie13" height="582" width="772" /></a></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-2372539096183557973?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-57869803881260197412007-12-11T22:08:00.000-08:002007-12-11T22:20:06.930-08:00Your sweater's so ugly...It's the holiday season and that means it's time for Christmas parties. They can be great, but more often they're terrible and overdone. Most people have heard of the "ugly Christmas sweater" party before.... after all, this <a href="http://www.usatoday.com/life/lifestyle/2004-12-22-sweaters_x.htm">article in USA Today was written in 2004</a> so must have far surpassed the mainstream designation by now. But have you ever been to an ugly Christmas sweater <span style="font-style: italic;">decorating</span> party? I hadn't... until this weekend when Ben and I attended one, and I brought along my camera. Here are a couple of photos...<br /><br />Everyone brought along an old sweater that had outworn its welcome... or was otherwise retired. There were piles of felt, hot glue, and googly eyes to add to your creation.<br /><center><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2104438385/" title="sweaters5 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2243/2104438385_334f6468dc_o.jpg" alt="sweaters5" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2105216756/" title="sweaters4 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2055/2105216756_d592d6369e_o.jpg" alt="sweaters4" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Not everyone made a sweater... there was also a hat.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2104438293/" title="sweaters3 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2047/2104438293_d3e330c49d_o.jpg" alt="sweaters3" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2105216666/" title="sweaters2 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2100/2105216666_1baffd0cf3_o.jpg" alt="sweaters2" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Some people went high class.... substituting the hot-glue method of decorating for actual needle and thread<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2105216914/" title="sweaters7 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2202/2105216914_5bf34e4ca9_o.jpg" alt="sweaters7" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">And some of the designs got quite intricate :)<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2105216862/" title="sweaters6 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2110/2105216862_ea0dfe3387_o.jpg" alt="sweaters6" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">All of the sweaters were pretty awesome... but here are a few of my favorite designs...<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2105216640/" title="sweaters1 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2402/2105216640_f2e2fcc75a_o.jpg" alt="sweaters1" height="587" width="796" /></a><br /></center><br />So this year if you're tired of attending the same old bad Christmas sweater party... why not turn it into a Christmas sweater decoration party? It's a ton more fun and only a little more messy :) Happy Holidays!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-5786980388126019741?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-2716738626710088952007-12-09T21:51:00.000-08:002007-12-09T22:00:31.423-08:00What did I tell you?If you saw <a href="http://katyregnier.blogspot.com/2007/11/bridget-david-nyc.html">Bridget &amp; David's portrait session</a> a couple of weeks ago, you might remember me saying that she was in a play. I also said that it was amazing funny and awesome and that you definitely should go see it. Well I'm no expert on theater, but the critics over at the New York Times certainly are and they just came out with their review of "Is He Dead?" , the play that she is starring in.<br /><br />Here's a little excerpt:<br /><br /><blockquote> “Is He Dead?,” a previously unproduced play by the long-dead <a href="http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/c/samuel_langhorne_clemens/index.html?inline=nyt-per" title="More articles about Samuel Langhorne Clemens.">Mark Twain</a>, has at last made its Broadway debut. And for something that’s basically been lying immobile for more than a century, gathering dust in archives, it has a remarkably sprightly step.<br /><br />...once Mr. Butz puts on a pink dress, this Tony-winning comic actor (“Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”)... shows the true comic genius of which he is made. From that moment the whole production feels as if it’s been pumped through with nitrous oxide. Jokes you would swear you would never laugh at suddenly seem funny.<br /></blockquote><br />And if you're interested here's the link to the <a href="http://theater2.nytimes.com/2007/12/10/theater/reviews/10dead.html?ex=1355029200&amp;en=fcc5c38addc7b3a3&amp;ei=5124&amp;partner=permalink&amp;exprod=permalink">New York Times review of "Is He Dead?"</a><br /><br />I just have to say that I'm so incredibly proud of Bridget (and the entire cast of course) for doing such an amazing job. I always knew you were going to be a star B, looks like you're on your way. Congratulations!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6255599626795520592-271673862671008895?l=katyregnier.blogspot.com'/></div>katyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10761407643367957866noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6255599626795520592.post-53943732292366385602007-12-06T22:48:00.000-08:002007-12-06T23:10:16.257-08:00Oh how I love ParisWow... I just realized that in all of the hustle and bustle of getting my recent portrait sessions up on my blog I never had a chance to post photos from our trip to Paris this fall. Paris is hands down my absolute favorite city! I love love love everything about it and I was so happy to get to spend several days there at the end of our <a href="http://katyregnier.blogspot.com/search?q=normandy">Normandy trip</a> this fall.<br /><br />Here are just a couple of my favorites... oh how I wish I could go back again :)<br /><br />Paris is so gorgeous at night.<center><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2092236063/" title="paris15 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2131/2092236063_e15ee72d78_o.jpg" alt="paris15" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">My favorite museum in the city is the <a href="http://www.musee-orsay.fr/en/home.html">Musee d'Orsay</a>. I love the art in the museum but even better is the architecture. It's a fabulous place to stroll around in.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2093021270/" title="paris18 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2021/2093021270_e07e92477d_o.jpg" alt="paris18" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">And of course the obligatory stop at the Louvre.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2092236179/" title="paris17 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2130/2092236179_f80fb68310_o.jpg" alt="paris17" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">The funny thing we noticed on this trip was how few people actually look at the artwork itself. Most people are either watching it through their cameras... or like these people... reading about it in their book instead of forming their own opinions about it.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2093021220/" title="paris6 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2407/2093021220_93af552af1_o.jpg" alt="paris6" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2092235791/" title="paris9 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2366/2092235791_845120c09d_o.jpg" alt="paris9" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Some of the paintings in the Louvre amaze me simply for their enormous scale. These ones are even bigger than life size.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2092235641/" title="paris7 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2051/2092235641_b874c9e77b_o.jpg" alt="paris7" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">We can't go to Paris without stopping by our old neighborhood. Oh the memories :) This is the street Ben and I lived on back when we we got engaged. It's gone quite upscale since we left.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2092242757/" title="paris19 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2319/2092242757_b221afc255_o.jpg" alt="paris19" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">And since we were in our old neighborhood we HAD to stop by our favorite bakery which makes these delicious mini breads filled with tasty treats like olives or goat cheese. Mmmmm.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2092236025/" title="paris14 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2203/2092236025_e44feb9267_o.jpg" alt="paris14" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">If there's one thing Parisians know how to do it's enjoy a park. We spent much of our trip relaxing in the various gardens and enjoying the sunshine. Some of our favorite parks are not the big tourist ones but a bit off the beaten path. This is the <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parc_des_Buttes-Chaumont">parc des buttes-chaumont</a>.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2092236003/" title="paris13 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2324/2092236003_861ffd016b_o.jpg" alt="paris13" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">We also happened to stumble across a fantastic exposition going on called photo-quai which (not surprisingly) was installed along the quai near the new Musee Quai Branly (which on a side note is absolutely horrendous.... although I'm the first to admit that I can't stand Jean Nouvel)<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2092235935/" title="paris12 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2363/2092235935_d0e1d8734b_o.jpg" alt="paris12" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2092235889/" title="paris11 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2085/2092235889_e31c9f97c8_o.jpg" alt="paris11" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">On this trip Ben and I formally decided that our suspicions were true and that yes, France is the future. Tiny fuel efficient cars, smart chip credit cards, and now this... digital tags in the grocery stores. Very very futuristic :)<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2092242805/" title="paris20 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2065/2092242805_a89be3bb22_o.jpg" alt="paris20" height="582" width="772" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">One last shot... gorgeous candles in the Notre Dame cathedral.<br /></div><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/katyregnier/2093014826/" title="paris10 by katy regnier, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2220/2093014826_a806a09a62_o.jpg" alt="paris10" height="832" width="522" /></a><br /></center><br />What an amazing trip and even though we just returned I can't wait until I get another chance to go back.
