This was the first year I didn't dress up but I had a great time at my mom's house. I decided that I love helping my siblings get in their costumes and makeup just as much as I like dressing up. Mason, McKenna, and Paige's costumes perfectly fit their personalities. Hahaha!

Six years ago the four of us moved in together and had the best few years. I keep in regular touch with these girls and still consider them my best friends. I wish we could all see each other more than a couples times a year. Maybe it's because Halloween is coming up again and we loved that holiday. Maybe it's because it's rare to find friendships like we had. Whatever the reason, today, I find myself missing them and those times of fun and innocence.

The highlight of my week is that my friends and I bought tickets to see Ray LaMontagne in concert in November. I have loved his music for a few years now and have been dying to see him live. His music soothes my soul and ignites my heart. Can't wait to see him and get my world rocked.

I am 1/16th Cherokee Indian and I love to brag about that. Lately, I have felt like I am not embracing my heritage like I should, so I bought this pair of moccasins. They are like heaven to my feet and I never want to take them. I even had a nap with them on last weekend. My ancestors sure had great taste in footwear! :)

Even at 25, I still am very afraid of the dark. I think it's mostly sleeping alone in the dark. Is this normal?

After spending all Spring watching this movie trailer nonstop, I finally saw it. Then went and saw it again and again and again. Yes, I have seen the movie 4 times now in the theater and it keeps getting better. When I really like something, I feel like I can't get enough of it.

I have a few movies that I can watch over and over. I would say they are my "Top 10" but I don't define a favorite movie by how good it is, rather how many times I can see it and still want to watch it again. Here are the movies I have seen 100's of times and I still cant get enough of:

- Beaches

- Pride and Prejudice (newer version)

- Steel Magnolias

- Sound of Music

- Gone With the Wind

- Finding Neverland

- Fried Green Tomatoes

- Little Women

This list pathetically shows how much I love sappy, depressing, romantic movies. I am okay with that.

Tree Hugger

A girl in one of my classes this semester told me about http://www.clegg.com/ where you can rent your books, instead of buy, and return them at the end of the semester. Not only did I save over $100, but you also earn "tree points". This means that by renting a book you are saving a tree so they will plant a tree for you in a place of your choice. I earned 2 point and planted 2 trees in Guatamala. I feel great doing my part to save the earth.

Yes, I really turned 25 last week so I decided to throw a big party to celebrate. My friend, Myra, also has the same birthday so we combined them. The night was exactly what I wanted it to be. There was great food (thanks Megan!) and all of my favorite people in Las Vegas having a good time together.

I keep waiting to freak out a little and have a quarter life crisis, but so far, I have loved being 25! Everyone keeps telling me how 25 is the best year and I am convinced this will be my favorite. Already, I have so much to look forward to and am super excited. I start school in about a week, rented a piano so I can start taking lessons again, am planning some fun trips for the fall which may include a concert or two, and am in the process of becoming a volunteer with this really great program. How perfect is it for me and my major?

I went up to Provo this weekend to throw a going away party but Jennie ended up not going anywhere so we just had a party. It was so nice to be with my girls again. We haven't all been together in about a year. We are all doing our own things now but no matter how much time passes, when we get together is seems like nothing has changed at all. I love these girls!

When I arrived at my mom's house tonight, I walked in and tried to scare her dog because she was barking at me. I chased her and she ran away. A little while later, we found her in my mom's office chewing on something. She jumped up to the picture board in there and was chewing up a picture of me. What the heck? She's never done anything like this before.

Notice only I am eaten out of the picture. Stupid/smart dog!

DC Love

I went to DC to visit Jessica for the 4th of July weekend and fell in love with it. What a romantic, beautiful city! The weather was perfect, not too humid. I got to tour the Capitol, bike ride to all the monuments, eat amazing food, walk around Old Town and Georgetown, find my dream house in Cleveland Park, etc. My favorite was a secret garden type place next to the National Cathedral. It was this huge garden with pathways and benches. I could have stayed there all day. Here are some pictures from my great trip.

I loved the Lincoln Monument. I sat out on the back of it for a long time overlooking the Potomac and almost fell asleep.
