Well, it is now 2009 and we have already started it off with a cast.

Louis decided to end 2008 with a smack in the back of the head. But this was not an ordinary smack. Being Louis, he had to go above and beyond. He was smacked in the back of the head with a movable Soccer Goal. On New Years Eve, Louis and Christopher were with their Uncle, and they went to field at the Y near where he lives. It was a windy day and while playing on the field the goal post blew over hitting Louis. We were worried about a concussion and not about a broken arm, but it seems we had things reversed. His head was fine, but he had a minor fracture to his left arm. he will only need the cast for about 3 weeks.

Weight Loss after 1 year

I have been meaning to post this but decided to wait a little bit. Starting last August (8-07) I have been losing weight and am very happy to say that I have been doing very well. I started at 272 pounds which isn't my heaviest either and am currently around 201 with more still to go. I do not remember the last time I weighed close to 200, probably high school, but I am there and hope to be less in the next couple weeks.

Before I started I was close to having to resize my wedding ring and get larger pants. Now, I still need to resize my wedding ring but not because it is too tight, actually it would fall off if I didn't have a temporary resizer in there and now I still need new pants but they are much smaller than before.

Best of all my family is eating better and getting healthier.

Well, it has been a couple of months since I last posted. Hello everyone. Well, things are going well here, summer camp is in full swing and the boys are having a blast. We were told to expect them to come home dirty from the YMCA camp and boy were they right on that one.

February has been a quick month so far. To start off, we all got to meet Marisa's Nephew for the first time, Anthony is a real cute kid and the boys loved meeting their youngest cousin. While he was here, Angie took her grandsons and got their picture taken.

Additionally, we just celebrated Louis' 9th birthday, Happy Birthday Louis. And Christopher's birthday will be here in no time, March 19th. Both Louis and Christopher have gotten a higher belt in Tae Kwon Do, Louis got his Yellow Belt and Christopher got his High White Belt. We are very proud of them.

February has been a quick month so far. We just celebrated Louis' 9th birthday, Happy Birthday Louis. And Christopher's birthday will be here in no time, March 19th. Both Louis and Christopher have gotten a higher belt in Tae Kwon Do: Louis got his Yellow Belt while Christopher got his High White Belt. Great job to both of them.

Christmas 2007

I have uploaded some Christmas photos. Outside of Louis being sick, the boys had a blast. Santa was good to them and they got a Wii.

Louis "Passed" out when he saw what the present was. Not only did they get the Wii, but they got several games (The Simpsons, Rayman's Raving Rabbids, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, and MLB Power Pros), and 3 additional controllers so the family can play. With some of their Christmas money they bought Lego Star Wars Complete Saga. Marisa and I did well this year too. A couple things Marisa got was a New Zune, an electric blanket, and some Photo Frames decorated by the kids, you can see mine in the background in the above pictures. I got some cloths that I need to exchange as they are too big on me, yeah! To date, I have lost almost 40 pounds since August. When I lose 10-15 more I will post a before and after shot.

Well, that is all for now, I hope that everyone has had a good Christmas and will have a safe and happy New Year.

This is just a quick update before I go to bed (Early for once) and I thought I would post some pictures from the PARTY! that the boys and I had (Mommy had to work) on New Years Eve.

Click the link under the picture to see the album. For some reason, whenever Christopher knew the camera was on him, he would make some funny faces. Eventually Louis joined in.

What did the party entail? Well, we had a Simpsons marathon from the Season 9 DVD's that I got for Christmas, some Friday's snacks (Chicken tenders, Potato Skins, and Mozzarella sticks) and some Sparkling Grape Juice. We also, at Christopher's suggestion had a Burping contest, which Louis won, and from what Christopher said, we had a farting contest, which I was not aware of, which he won.

All in all it was a fun night.

A busy Weekend

Well, it has been a busy weekend, first Louis got his High White Belt (2nd belt) on Saturday. He also got to meet the Grand Master, Master Lee. It was a fun and long day spent at ETF (Eagle Tae Kwon Do).

Then on Sunday, Christopher sang in the Angel choir at church. He was a little distracted by watching the choir on a big screen so he forgot to do any singing. Video to come a little later.

Lastly, Louis was in a Cantata at Church on Monday Night, ok, not really part of the weekend, but it was still a busy 3 days. Louis was a Sheppard and while he didn't have a speaking part he did have fun.

Well, it has been a busy October. School is in full swing and both Louis and Christopher have been taking Tae Kwon Do after school. And after all that hard work, Louis has just gotten his White Belt!

Not only that, but my parents and niece Ashleigh came down for a visit. They came down for my birthday but unfortunately Ash was not able to stay, she had to go back to CT to celebrate her own birthday, lucky number 13. Ha, feel sorry for my sister....

We took a trip to Reed's Gold mine near Charlotte and after the tour did some panning. Christopher was the only one to strike it rich. Look closely, there is a fleck in the bottom of that bottle.

End of Summer beginning of school

It has been a busy month. Louis is now in the 3rd grade and Christopher has started in Kindergarten and both of them are doing some Tae Kwon Do for after school care. Additionally they are both playing baseball again. Louis got his first hit last week and went 2 for 3 this weekend garnering him his first game ball and he is very proud of it making sure everyone knew.

Louis seems to be having a bit more fun during the fall baseball season than he did during the spring. He has even started catching a couple innings each game.

A fathers day out at Stone Mountain

Well, I must say, it was recommened to me by a guildy (yes, I play an online game, World of Warcraft to be exact) and all I can say is Thanks Zen, Stone Mountain was a great end to a short vacation. We arrived there at about noon and did not leave until after 10pm. My feet hurt! One of the more interesting things I saw at the park was the Carving that was done of Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and Jefferson Davis. The thing is Huge. From the Stone Mountain site.

The entire carved surface of the Memorial Carving measures three acres,
larger than a football field. The carving of the three men towers 400 feet
above the ground, measures 90 by 190 feet, and is recessed 42 feet into
the mountain. The deepest point of the carving is at Lee's elbow, which
is 12 feet to the mountain's surface.

With that in mind, here is a shot of us taken a good long distance away and a zoomed in shot of the carving.

While at the park, we went on a Duck ride. The Ducks are 1940's Army DUKWs, land/water vehicle. We went on a quick tour of the park and a swim in the lake. Both Louis and Christopher got to take a spell at the wheel, and we all survived.

Well, everyone is asleep and it is time for me to crash. We are heading back to Charlotte tomorrow morning. If you want to see more pictures, click on the picture below.

A day at Stone Mountain Park in Georgia

Hello from Atlanta

Well, we have taken our first "true" vacation as a family and are currently in Atlanta, Ga. Ok, Actually, we are in Alphretta, Ga, but it is close enough. We came down specifically to see the Georgia Aquarium, which at with 8 million gallons of fresh water and more than 100,000 animals is the largest aquarium in the world.

All I can say about the Aquarium is wow. It was an awesome sight and seeing 4-5 Whale Sharks (Largest fish in the world) in one tank was phenomenal.

End of the Baseball Season

Well, the baseball season is over. Louis' Coach Pitch team, The A's won the championship while Christopher's T-ball team lost. But in T-ball the emphasis is on having fun rather than winning, and Christopher had a Blast.
