My computer network yesterday was in a complete mess, like FUBAR, so I had to call in geeks to do the proper configurations for me. Military people will surely know what FUBAR means, do you? As for the geek assigned to do the configurations for me, he arrived at around two in the afternoon, and left vaguely around six hours later that afternoon.

I just handed him quite a big pay, and of course, it includes the extra money he may use for beverages.

Good thing my computer was diagnosed for threats, because it became a home for about 79 viruses!

The alarming part is that my computer had been sending spam because of a dangerous program. You must have been thinking that my computer hasn't been protected against such threats. No, I was fairly confident that it was protected. In fact, I even spent hundreds of dollars just to keep it in good shape.

The geek told me the full capabilities of this dangerous software. What is rather alarming is that there is no software available yet that could fend off these harmful programs from taking over the system's controls. The very least that one could do is to make regular and proper maintenance of such computer systems.

He was really good. I think he made the proper system configurations, because my computer has been running faster than it used to before.

And so, he deserved an extra fee.

He deserved it.

Anyway, last night's news had shown a photo of a man who had been trying to kidnap little girls in Northern Virginia. It was said that he was even spotted near bus stops and other areas where most of the kids go.

People who kidnap kids deserved to be punished. If you happen to have your self-defense tools with you, don't hesitate on using these on them. Put them down on their knees with pepper spray, or stun guns, because they don't deserve to be spared at all. The same scenario had happened in our neighborhood, and I've witnessed a part of it. Good thing my daughter was trained for such circumstances, she could easily recognize danger, and got away as soon as possible.

I missed catching the jerk by a few seconds, and I can tell you if I had, that the batteries in the The Runt would have to had gone dead before he had had enough voltage in him as far as I'm concerned.

It's quite an unimaginable thing there are groups who put on Child Pornography. Even a middle school principal was involved in child exploitation. This tells me that my electric bleachers shouldn't just be left in the storage.

Single Table Tournament and its Strategies

In some ways a STT has more in common with a ring game than with an MTT. All you control in an MTT is the level of the stake. After that, the tournament software takes over, giving you new tables and new opposition on a regular basis. But for an STT, all of the general advice on game selection and seating becomes applicable again. Save for elimination, your opponents and position are fixed for the entire tournament, and there is definite advantage (and disadvantage) in your choices. Don't enter STT's where the stake will affect your play. Too high and you choke when it comes to that essential bluff or call. Too low and tilt can creep in - if it isn't worth winning then don't enter. Seat Choice there's loads of conflicting advice on seat selection. Optimistic approach to this advice is to assume it is all right for someone.

Read the suggestion, but apply it to your own game. For some, being to the right of a maniac destroys their game; fear has them folding anything other than AA. If that is you, keep record of any maniacs playing on your site, and stop sitting in the wrong place. Other people love a maniac, ignoring short term variance and reaping the long term rewards of playing better cards than your opponents. Whichever you are, player records will help you in the long run.

Occasionally, you'll be dealt hands that win an STT on their own. But don't count on it. More often you will have to make something from marginal hands to get into the money. This means observing your opponents' tendencies is critical to success. If you do nothing else, pay close attention to anyone easily scared off a pot - when the going gets tough, their blinds will be easiest to steal.

The number of tables played multiple the tables for ring games is almost a must for anyone other than the beginner. Boredom is a bigger threat to most than basic playing errors and so multiple tables decreases tilt. For STT's, by all means play multiple tables but you should accept that for most, this will reduce your profit from the games you play in. Grasping the betting patterns/tendencies of your opponents is essential in the latter stages of an STT, and you only have a short time to learn. More than two tables is a real stretch of your resources.

Records to get your name in lights then stick to MTT's. If you love big pots then no limit ring games have all you need. To make money from STT's, you must keep records. A simple spreadsheet with a page for every type/stake of tourney will soon give you a feel for which is your best game and what you can expect to make from it. Also record how often you are reaching the money, and how your winnings are made up. Remember, there is a big premium for winning an STT, and coming third each time you play will not make you much money.

There are lots of people excited to get into the action, and each "kill" to a great extent, it improves your chances of wining with loads of cash. Even with better cards, all-in show downs are marginal. Take not that you play extremely tight at the beginning the games early stage.

AA and KK go if someone goes all in. Hands I will play (for cheap!!) in late position, it contains two suited face cards, and suited aces down to an eight. You are looking here for a nuts or near nuts hand (nut flush, full house or straight) that you can afford to slow play and make a big gain for a small initial stake. I'll also play any pocket pair, especially against multiple callers, because of the disguise value if I hit a set on the flop.

The blinds aren't worth it, and if there are multiple callers, one of them will pay to see you. Post flop you should not be jeopardised either your chips or your table image chasing the river. I don't bluff in the early stages of an STT.

When I play STT, I always like a clear chip leader. The bluffers are in a big mess - whatever they throw in, big stack can have to call. I can play nice and tight and still keep up. On occasions I've reached the money in this type of game without making any huge amount of bets.

In some species all one need do is cut off a branch, insert it in the ground and within one to two years it will grow into a young shrub that can be transplanted. Other species are better multiplied by summer cuttings of soft leafy shoots. Some shrubs cannot be multiplied by stem cuttings at all. In such cases it is necessary to use root cuttings.

During the first sixteen weeks of life, a puppy will learn about the environment around it. A puppy will be exposed to new surroundings and experiences. If not properly socialized, this can be a traumatic time. Early and proper exposure will help a puppy adjust and become confident with new situations. It is important for a puppy to experience new situations and not isolate them so they do not grow up fearful of new places and new people. Fear often results in aggressive behavior such as growling and biting. Without proper socialization a puppy can grow up to be fearful of children, other dogs, crowds, loud noises, and strangers.

From the eighth week and on, a puppy's brainwaves can be recorded. It is during this period that a lasting bond will develop between owners and their puppies. This is the stage where a puppy will establish confidence, accept gentle correction, learn respect, learn simple responses such as 'sit' and 'stay', begin housebreaking, and have a desire to explore the world around them. Since 8-week-old puppies have the ability to learn the same behaviours as older dogs, it is essential to teach them proper behaviours at an early age to avoid many years of frustration.

Many pet owners take their puppies to training schools that offer sound training and socialization programs. Some veterinarians advise owners to wait until their puppy is 6 months old and has had all of its vaccinations before taking a training class, however this is not necessary. The chance of contracting a disease from other healthy puppies in a clean environment is very low.

The best training program is one that does not use harsh techniques such as using physical punishment to correct disobedient behavior. A good trainer will use positive reinforcement techniques. The class will be clean and there will be a playtime set aside for puppies. The instructor should also be educated in animal diseases and parasites and should ask for health records before introducing a puppy to the training class. The instructor should also be well informed about such issues as housetraining and puppy biting. It may, however, also be used for marinating fish, with fatty meats, and to disguise the odour of cabbage or beets.

Nowadays laurel is grown not only in the Mediterranean countries but also in many other parts of Europe. Two-year-old leaves (1), up to 10 cm (4 in) long and 3 cm (1 in) wide, arc harvested in the autumn and dried in thin layers in shade to preserve their characteristic aroma and flavour.

They should be sown on the surface, which should be kept moist all the time. When the seeds have swollen they form a thick layer of mucilage and then rapidly sprout, so that within two weeks you can harvest young plants with two true leaves. Up to this point they need no feeding, for they have an ample store inside the seeds. Seeds may be sown in succession at 14-day intervals throughout the year

Easy Method of Propagating Shrubs

An easy method of propagation is layering, though this, too, produces only a limited number of new individuals. This method is based on the fact that if the young shoot or shrub is bent and inserted in the soil it will put forth roots. Some shrubs multiply in this manner in the wild, e.g. the blackberry, dogwood, etc.

In gardening layering is used mainly for those shrubs that are not easy to propagate by cuttings' or grafting. Layering may be carried out either on the spot where the shrub is growing or else in a special bed to which the shrub to be increased is transferred. One advantage of the latter is that it is possible to prepare a soil mixture suitable for propagation, i.e. a lighter, sandy soil, and that the shrubs can be spaced far enough apart. Young one-year shoots root best.

For that reason, if the shrub does riot have a sufficient number of long, one-year shoots close to the base it must first be cut back so that it produces new young shoots.

Some seeds, even though stratified, will not germinate until the spring of the second year, e.g. the cornelian cherry, sometimes also the bladdernut, dogwood, wayfaring tree, English holly, staghorn sumach, etc. Such seeds should be stratified another year and in spring the pots in which they are stored should be put out in a shady spot and sunk in peat halfway to their rims, the peat being watered regularly to keep the substratum and seeds from drying out. In spring the seeds are sown either into a frame or in pots filled with a mixture of equal parts loam, peat and sand.

The seeds should be covered with a layer of soil one to two times their own thickness. For instance rhododendron seeds should be covered with a layer about 1 mm thick, those of the golden rain with a 5 mm layer, the bladdernut with a 10 mm layer, etc. The best temperature for seed germination is 16C - 20C. The seeds must be kept moist at all times, preferably with a fine rose can so that they are not washed out.

A similar method, known as stooling, is used to increase choice varieties of the hazel or to produce a greater quantity of rootstocks for budding or grafting fruit trees. Shrubs to be increased are cut back close to the ground in early spring so that they will put out as many shoots as possible. As these shoots grow they arc covered with a mound of soil up to about 30 centimetres high. During the summer the shoots put forth new roots and in the autumn the soil is removed and the rooted shoots are cut away from the parent shrub and planted out. This method is sometimes used to propagate certain varieties and species of Philadelphus, Deulzia, Hydrangea, and, Syringa.

The soil then takes heat from the air at ground level, resulting in freezing.

The incidence of frost will be less under overhanging trees and covering the ground with materials such as straw or sacking will also help to reduce night-time heat loss. A free flow of air, ensuring that cooled air gets whipped away by the wind before its temperature drops too far, prevents the formation of frost pockets.

The pharmaceutical industry processes the juice (opium) which exudes from cuts on the unripe capsules, and obtains morphine and many other opium alkaloids from the empty, dry capsules. The ripe seeds yield the edible oil called `olivette' by the French and a lower quality industrial oil used in synthetic dyes.

In cookery the ripe seeds arc used to make poppy-seed cakes and fillings for pastries. Cooking and baking makes their pleasant, nut-like flavour more pronounced. Poppy-seeds are also sprinkled on rolls and buns. Ground seeds are added to pungent herb mixtures not only for their flavour but also to improve the consistency and increase the weight of the mixtures. This is much better than diluting them with starchy flour, as is often done by European producers.

Two types are cultivated: the one for its curly leaves, used for flavouring and as a garnish, the other for its fleshy root, commonly used as a vegetable. In the autumn the plants may be put in pots, thus ensuring a continual supply of fresh leaves, rich in Vitamin C, throughout the winter. If you are traveling to Kiev, Ukraine for the very first time, it will be an experience. Break through the clouds and you will notice a land of abundance nature and beauty. A landscape of trees covers the countryside. The abundance of rainfall and annual snow makes Kiev a wonder of forests, lakes, rivers and pristine landscapes.

Boryspil International Airport is the main airport for all of Ukraine. It services not only international flights, but also all domestic flights. Boryspil has one of the largest runways in the Ukraine and can service any type of aircraft. When the Ukraine was still part of the Soviet Union, Boryspil was used strictly as a military airfield. Later after independence was declared, the airport was converted into a civilian airfield. Prior to Boryspil, Lugansk airport was the main international airfield.

All flights with the exception of a few carriers such as Delta and Air France park away from the terminal and bus in their passengers. It is a short bus trip to the International Terminal B.

Upon arriving to the terminal, you are greeted with an old still Soviet Era passport control center. Ensure your paperwork is correct and ready. During peak hours wait times can be up to two hours. Lines are long and customer service is not a priority. Not being prepared will cost you added time, so have all relevant documents filled out and legible. In the seven times I have been to the Ukraine, I have only waited two hours one time. After that bad experience I always booked my flight to arrive very early in the morning or late at night. 9 am to 2 pm are peak hours at Boryspil Airport.

Be polite and patient while in the passport control line. Ukrainian officers are not in the mood for jokes or small talk. Answer their questions fully and respectfully. Officers speak English and will understand you.

Once you make it through passport control, you will see the baggage claim area. Digital readouts will tell you where your baggage is located. It is a small area and impossible to lose track of your baggage. Boryspil is like all airports. There is not much difference in their baggage claim area.

If your baggage cannot be found, you can easily find the lost baggage office. Surprisingly enough this is one of the best lost baggage offices I ever had the pleasure of doing business. In the seven times traveling to Kiev, I have only had to use the lost baggage service once. They speak very good English and immediately tracked down my lost luggage. The representative was very professional and had all the necessary phone numbers available to call Delta Airlines in New York. Apparently my luggage was sitting in New York and never made it onto the plane. The Boryspil Airport baggage claim service was great and had my baggage in my hands the very next morning.

I had my luggage the next morning after being lost the day before. I had to pay a nice tip to the person that retrieved my baggage. For your information, everything in the Ukraine functions on tips. Hand out a tip that is too small and Ukrainians have no problem in showing you your mistake. Normal tip fair for getting your baggage reclaimed $6.00. Taxi trip to get back to the airport to retrieve your baggage $55.00. Knowing that you paid the right tip and avoiding the embarrassment of getting screamed at for failing to understand the tip policy, priceless.

Out of baggage claim and ready for the next adventure? Ok great, now let us take a walk up a small incline in the busy heart of the Boryspil Airport! The only thing between you and a hundred or so impatiently waiting family members, friends and taxi drivers is a set of automatic sliding doors. As the swoosh of doors slide open you are immediately impacted with the excitement of the waiting crowd in front of you. Make your way past them and you reach the second level of excitement. Yes, you guessed it, the Ukrainian Taxi Car Drivers! Stay calm and just shake your head back n forth with every question of "Taxi?" No need to say "No" just shake your head back n forth.

Stay clear of the taxi drivers and find your way to one of the many kiosks in the airport that will help you find a taxi. The price is fair and shown to you up front. Taxi kiosks are easy to find and the word "TAXI" is written across them.

There are four different money exchange booths in the international terminal. The airport has the worst rates, so only exchange a small amount of money. Wait until you get to the center of the city to do your large exchange transactions. I tend to only exchange two hundred dollars at the airport. This covers my taxi, food and any other little thing I would like to buy while in the airport. Just as easy as it is to find an exchange booth in the airport, you will have the same luck in the center of the city. These exchange booths are everywhere. The US Dollar, Euro and Russian Ruble are accepted everywhere.

Currency that is old is not accepted at exchange booths. It so happened that I learned this lesson the hard way. I was unable to exchange five hundred dollars because of the age of the currency. Ensure you take newer currency that is in good condition. All currency is inspected by eye and then by machine. Any wet spots or torn, worn bills are not accepted.

If you are traveling to another part of the Ukraine, it is a very short walk to terminal A. This terminal handles all domestic flights. You can easily buy a ticket to anywhere in the Ukraine by going to one of the two booths inside this terminal. Pay close attention to your flight status in this terminal. Although all flights are digitally displayed, often times boarding calls are done vocally. These vocal announcements are done in Ukrainian or Russian. If in doubt, ask someone and they will tell you where to board.

Finally, if you want to avoid all the rush and crowds, the VIP service is for you. Terminal C houses a very comfortable environment for anyone that would like to pay $150.00 USD or up for this service. A private coach will come pick you up from your plane. Your luggage will be taken from the plane separately and brought to you. Exit passport control in 15 minutes or less.
