So what is the write answer? From our perspective, the fact that the company that allows me to sit here all day and blog, pays my bills, I suppose it it's necessary to solicit the actions of the reads of said blog to come into the poker room and see for themselves what makes SunPoker such a great company.

Anyway, I don't want to "Sell" you on playing at SunPoker, just pull up a chair and head into a Texas hold'em, Omaha or other poker game at the table stakes of your choosing, and you'll sell yourself on the fun and excitement in what's being called, 'The Hottest Poker Room under the Sun.'

Herein lies the end of my pitch;)

Win one of 40 World Series of Poker Seats FREE

God only gave you one ass to fill a seat, although some come in different sizes and may 'overfill' the seat, nonetheless, it's just one ass. When he bent down under the table to pick them up, he noticed Bob's wife, Sue wasn't wearing any underwear under her dress! Shocked by this, Jim upon trying to sit back up again, hit his head on the table and emerged red-faced.

Later, Jim went to the kitchen to get some refreshments. Bob's wife followed and asked, "Did you see anything that you like under there?"

Surprised by her boldness, Jim admitted that, well indeed he did.
She said, "Well, you can have it but it will cost you $500."

After taking a minute or two to assess the financial and moral costs of this offer, Jim confirms that he is interested.
Sue told him that since her husband Bob worked Friday afternoons and Jim didn't, Jim should be at her house around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

When Friday rolled around, Jim showed up at Bob's house at 2 p.m. sharp - and after paying Sue the agreed sum of $500 - they went to the bedroom and closed their transaction, as agreed. Jim quickly dressed and left.

As usual, Bob came home from work at 6 p.m. And upon arriving, asked his wife: "Did Jim come by the house this afternoon?" With a lump in her throat Sue answered "Why yes, he did stop by for a few minutes this afternoon."

Her heart nearly skipped a beat when her husband curtly asked, "And did he give you $500?"Sue, using her best poker face, replied, "Well, yes, in fact he did give me $500." Bob, with a satisfied look on his face, surprised his wife by saying, "He came by the office this morning and borrowed $500 from me. He promised he'd stop by our house this afternoon on his way home and pay me back."

Now THAT, my friends, is a poker player!

If Jim was a SunPoker player, he would have borrowed $1,000 and went at it twice;)

SunSessions - Improving your poker game.

If you have not seen it yet, you will very soon... SunSessions is the video tutorial guide to playing better poker online. We agreed to try poker coaching on the SunPoker site in 2009.
Part of our agreement is, that I should take care of the online qualifiers during the CAPT as the SunPoker coach. This part worked our very good thus far. By both CAPT that just past, the seminar was well attended and the results of our players were good. At the first tournament in Seefeld, there were 2 players in the money ; at the second event in Bregenz – the biggest CAPT until now – even 3 out of six made it to the paid ranks.
.
The other part of our agreement is, that I play online at SunPoker. With the iPoker Network SunPoker found a very good platform. I think you can play comfortble, the software is very good and I never encountered any problems. The choice is huge, there is always action in all kind of cash games – Hold’em, Stud and different Omaha games. They have tables for all limits, from low limit to high stakes tables - you will find what you are looking for. Lots of tournaments and qualifiers for live events, like the CAPT are offered as well. For sure it is worth to give the SunPoker room a try..
I am playing there since January , my nickname is“sunpokercoach“. SunPoker provides special tables 1/2 and 2/4 NL Hohld’em called, „Coach Sven“ and „Coach Lucha“. There you can play with me, and we can chat about played hands or other poker issues.
You can find me as well at the Sit and go tables. I prefer the six handed turbo and superturbo. I love the action and by these tournaments, you surely can find it. Don’t hesitate, you always can ask me questions at these tables. I am always willing to discuss certain moves and decisions.

See you soon at the SunPoker tables.
Your Sunpokercoach Sven Lucha

CAPT Bregenz

30 sollten ins Geld kommen.

Upcoming and Ongoing Promotions

<span style="font-size: 11.5pt;

The Gambling–Institute represented by Stephan Kalhamer and myself, Sven Lucha, was invited by SunPoker.com, to coach their players. SunPoker.com participated with 8 online qualifiers and 8 invited players at the CAPT Seefeld this year.

The important question for us:

How can we help technically strong players in such an event?

Especially the invited players were experienced and successful players, but mainly Cash gamer and not so used to the Tourney Poker. Therefore the main point in our presentation, the day before the tournament was the tournament structure.

· What to do at what point in the tournament?

· Do I have to look for a spot or can I wait until the game finds me?

· When do I have to play?

· How do I avoid pressure?

The structure of the CAPT comprises 10'000 $ starting chips with Blinds of 25/50 and 60 min per level. That means the players are very deep in the beginning. There is no reason to play in the beginning except an extremely good hand or the situation is likely to force you into a hand. You should not get involved in any pots with a middle class hand – you never know, where it ends. We always wanted to have a plan, so we could ask the questions. This was the plan for the first levels of the tournament. For example, if a player would sleep late and miss the first 3 blind levels, he would only loose about 10% of his stack. . A lot of players – but only a few SunPoker players – would have been happy the next day, if they would have slept late. By the way, you should not sleep in this time, but collect information on the other players, which can help you further down in the tournament

Then we focused on not getting under pressure. Our main concern was to find the spots in time. With that we wanted to avoid having to win in the showdown without any fold equity.

In the training program, we tried to arrange situations of pressure, show spots for re-steals (very efficient in tournaments) and to fix hand ranges for pushes and calls, depending on the stack. This is where you can use the information you collected in the first levels of the tournament.

Which player raise often and therefore with a wider hand range, often with a hand, that can not call a re-push? That could be a easy victim for a re-steal. .

Which player acts fearful? Here we can steal the BB easier with a push, as he would not call with many hands.

On the other hand we should always ask ourselves, which players are most likely to call us, because of their loose-passive way of playing.

The next important point was the player’s attitude towards the live poker adventure. Online it is enough to play a technically good poker. By live poker the table image, your own and that of the other players are important too. To understand, how the other player would see oneself is important as well. As a young online player- if the others see you as this – it is easier to re-steal online than live. On the other side it will be easier to get good hands paid for such here we put our emphasis in our live coaching during the tournament. We wanted to help the players to read the current table situation right, due to blinds, their own stack and the stack of the other players and the table image – their own and the adversaries. It was our goal to use our own stack actively against the folding players. We tried as well to mention possible„tells“of our players.

One player was sitting looking board at the table, waiting on his monster. If this player now sits up and take his cards, every attentive opponent would know, he has a very good hand now.

Especially in the later part of the tournament, our help consisted in foreseeing pressure and finding spots to increase the stack without any showdown.

Which player has difficulty to call, due to the stack size, should only play with a real monster?

Which player would call easier, because of his big stack, - has to be attack with a better hand?

The game design was getting important in this later phase of the tournament. I was asked by one player with 17BBs, who he should play hands like AK or TT with his stack. He rarely could raise, and folded after a re-raise, and out of position with theses cards would give him only very few good Flop scenarios. So there was alternatively the Limp-re-raise-Pre-flop. Than he asked the question on fold equity, he could take the pot without a show down, or he had all chips in the middle of the table at a point in time, he believed in his hand.

Another source of errors, we wanted to avoid, was the non-consideration of the opponents stack. Some players commit themselves, without even knowing. They don’t see the opponents stack, the effective stack and can be found in an unfavorable All-in situation if they have to call a push, which followed their own raise.

Before day 2 we handed out the new seating order for the last 4 tables to our remaining players together with an analysis of the best spots for stealing with showdown.

The SunPoker players were doing well with these tips. 2 reached in the money, for the big win, we were missing this little bit of luck...

Rounding up the experience, it was positive. Even technically very good players appreciated our help. Not even the successful player should sit back, because in poker too, :“ who don’t move, move backwards“..

What's in a day two?

Believe me when I say that I am not one tell, listen to, or even like ‘Bad Beat Stories’, and the rest of this post is not meant to represent one at all, but merely the story of the last hand of a major poker tournament which I did not win;)

The question is, can I, (or anyone else), learn from plays that are made on the felt, whether right or wrong…?

There’s two levels left in day one of the WSOP Main Event, (three hours or so), and we are on a break… I am at the concession getting a banana to hold me over, and I see a guy who is sitting across from me at my table, who has been a folding machine. He says to me, “Making it to day two…that’s the key. My plan is to make it to day two.” Now on one hand, I am pretty sure that every player who’s ever won a major event, made it through to day two, however I think I am fairly safe in assuming that it was not from this style of play or thought process, of, “Make it to day two at all costs.” Before I get to my last hand, let me digress.

The ‘Folding Machine’, after folding literally 70 straight hands, including every one of his blinds which had been even min raised, he pushed all in UTG, met no resistance and took the blinds. Even though he did not show his cards, everyone’s X-ray vision glasses must have been working perfectly, because we all saw two aces.

To my last hand…

With 30 minutes to play in day one, I have about $17k in chips, I am in third position, and it’s folded to me, (I had been folding pretty consistently, just playing premium hands), so to mix up my game, I raise 3 times the BB to $1,200 with 9-7 of hearts. Action folds to the button who calls, the blind fold, so with the ante’s, there’s $3500 in the pot.

Flop comes out A-4-6 all hearts. My heart flutters…can I be in a better situation…I suppose, but for now, I’ll take it. Now with three hearts on the board, and my highest being a 9, I think, let me make a move at this pot and take it down right there… I bet out $3k, button thinks for a minute and makes it $6k, (min raise)… I think for about 10 second about the folding machine at the other side of the table, “Make it to day two at all costs.”… F’ that, “I’m all in!”… the button thinks from literally 5 minutes…finally calls, shows a set of 4’s…turns a 6 for a full house and my main event is over.

I am not telling this as a bad beat at all, you can draw your own conclusions, but know this, on day two for everyone else, I was on a plane back home to my wife and kids, so I’m the real winner anyway:)

---------------------------------------

Rob Gallo

CEO

rob (AT) SunPoker.com

Rob Gallo is the CEO of SunPoker.com and is incharge of the business development for SunPoker.com. type='text'>Life without Poker

I was going to do a well researched blog about how a lot of the Poker Pros we know have lead some cool lives, like the Male Model life of Patrick Antonius, or the Rap Group Life of Daniel Negreanu... or the fact that a lot of poker players give up jobs such as lawyers to focus on playing the game of poker.

The blog was going to be an amazing piece of Poker Playing Journalism, figuring out the in depth psyche that motivates the players to leave the job security of their 9-5 for the risk and reward of playing Poker Online and Live.

But instead I present 2+2's view of Where the Pros would have been had they not type='text'>Charity Poker - All In for a Good Cause!

About a month ago me and a friend decided we wanted to give back to our community here in Antigua, we thought about many different ways to help raise money and eventually we decided the best is of course poker. And so with that in mind we decided to invite the ladies of Antigua to "go ALL IN for a good cause."

Last week Saturday (20th Sept.) was our first attempt to raising money for the Disability Advocacy Programs in Antigua...oh wow I tip my hat off to every event coordinator, every tournament director and every person in the background that has ever organized such an event. What a mission and a real task it was, every time we got tired we had to remind ourselves that it was for a good cause and that thought alone kept us going.

Amazing what soft hearts women have for charities :-) A total of 40 women played in the No Limit Texas Hold'Em tournament, we had SunPoker girls, Bodog girls, WSEX girls and even female dealers from the local casinos coming out to support. But by far the most interesting women were the ones who have never played a singlehand of poker until that night. The amount of folds on Straights and Flushes that were made that night were beyond adorable...but for charity they were all willing to give it a go and by the end of the night with the help of the best dealers, which included two of SunPokers very own staff members, those girls were almost....ALMOST ready for a real cash game.

At the end of it all, the hard work paid off, the ladies had a blast (I'm sure the endless flow of alcohol helped) poker is a big hit amongst the new ones and most importantly money was raised for a worthy charity here in Antigua.

To here's to the ladies of Antigua going ALL IN for a good cause.

-------------------------
Abi Mansoor
PR Manager
abi (AT) sunpoker.com

Abi Mansoor is the PR and Customer Relations Manager at SunPoker.com. Oh and lets keep the rake down too, while still making money. How is this done? The new PokerTek PokerPro tables.

It combines the speed and fun of online poker with the face to face live poker action.

This is definitely a positive factor in live poker and should start revolutionizing the live poker world! I have heard a few vegas casinos are going to be switching their poker rooms from dealer tables to pokertek tables in the very near future!

Spencer Lawrence places 6th at the WSOP!

Spencer Lawrence Eliminated in 6th Place ($20,221)

Spencer Lawrence was all in preflop against Jean-Robert Bellande.

Bellande:
Lawrence:

Board:

Bellande's nines were enough to send Lawrence home in sixth place.
