Mike is a great writer himself and also the editor of Lit-Up. There are links to Bookmunch and Lit-Up on this page.

David LaBountyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17678790096786168099noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152560856626532981.post-14685932155618388812008-11-22T16:04:00.000-08:002008-11-22T16:13:04.933-08:00reading, etc.I just gone done reading one of the best books I've read in a long time; Plainsong by Kent Haruf. I read all the time but rarely get excited enough to mention anything. Anyway, it's beautiful book and I don't typically gravitate towards the beautiful in literary things. Check it out.

And to what I've been writing. Not so many poems, more fiction, short stories and the like, one coming in Pank this winter and a few more here and there. Affluenza is still under consideration and queries are flying around. It will get published, one way or the other and that leads me to another thought; the publishing business can't be too good right now with our economy the way it is, which is in the shitter worldwide unless you live in North Dakota or I don't know, Brunei maybe.
People must not by books so much, as reading is really a luxury if you get right down to it. It takes money and time to lounge around a bookstore for hours at a time and buy what you want. I don't know many people who can do that. I would also believe that great works of literature can come from times of struggle (this era doesn't compare to the Depression say, or famines or civil wars but you get my meaning) I hope to add to that body but I am afraid a lot of it will go largely unnoticed.
<img width='1' height='1'
