Last year, both the men's and women's Oakland University basketball teams made it to the championship game. This year, not only is this the inagural year for the league's Summit League monkier, but I also completely bypassed the winter storm that blasted the Midwest. </span><br /><br /><a href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_s6_pxxIU-Bc/R9MV3tEHFFI/AAAAAAAAAC8/d7qrkkbYKoQ/s1600-h/snow.jpg"><span style="font-family:times new roman;"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5175504443512656978" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_s6_pxxIU-Bc/R9MV3tEHFFI/AAAAAAAAAC8/d7qrkkbYKoQ/s320/snow.jpg" border="0" /></span></a><span style="font-family:times new roman;"><br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><strong>Associated Press</strong></span></span><strong><br /></strong><span style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:85%;">Sucks to be you, Ohio.<br /></span><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;">But just like last year, I am not alone. By my side is contributing reporter Tim Rath, who will be covering the women's tournament, and Brad Doescher and Corey Hagood of WXOU radio. </span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;">The flights were fairly smooth, although there was one minor freakout session when our 8:40 a.m. flight to Chicago was delayed. The pilot announced that, "While we are good here, the wheels are up, so we're going to be delayed another 25 minutes. </span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;">Um, what? Is that pilot slang?</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;">Though our plane took off not too long after the announcement, we landed at O'Hare at 10:17, late for our 9:55 takeoff to Tulsa. </span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;">"Great," we thought. "We're going to be stranded here...AGAIN." (See last year's entry on our 5 1/2 hour delay). </span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;">Then, the miracle happened. It turned out that the plane that had just taken us to Chicaco was also going to take us to Tulsa. </span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;">Hooray!</span><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><p><span style="font-family:times new roman;"></span></p><a href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_s6_pxxIU-Bc/R9MWetEHFGI/AAAAAAAAADE/eIpJfnw4_PE/s1600-h/Tulsa+2008+006.JPG"><span style="font-family:times new roman;"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5175505113527555170" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_s6_pxxIU-Bc/R9MWetEHFGI/AAAAAAAAADE/eIpJfnw4_PE/s320/Tulsa+2008+006.JPG" border="0" /></span></a><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:85%;"><strong>Samantha Franz/The Oakland Post</strong></span><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;"><span style="font-size:85%;">I love having window seats.</span> </span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;">Not only did we land on time, but actually had time to relax and check out the main drag on 71st Street. </span><br /><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;">First order of business?
