This is going to be a post about me being very irritated with my current employment.

First, I feel that with my education level, my experience and my Military background, my current employment is beneath me.

But it is paying my bills.

Second, I do not take orders very well. I have no problem with listening and taking someones suggestions if their suggestions will benefit me, but I do not like orders.

I am a grown-ass man. You WILL not order me to do anything. I guess that is why I got out of the Army the first time. (Notice I said First time. I am currently in the Reserves. God help me.)

Third, and this is basically what this post is about....

If you want to work in this country and get your share of the "American Pie" speak the motherf$%^#&ing language!!

Granted, I do speak Spanish (pequito), Do not expect me to automatically switch to Spanish to suit you.

Or Swahili, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Arabic, Martian or whatever the hell you speak.

This is America. We speak English here. Bad English, but English none the less.

How far would I get in another country if I did not speak that Country's main language?

Or at least attempt to speak it?

I lived in Germany for 5 years and I can testify to the fact that if a person makes an effort to try to understand the culture and language of another country, that person will be greeted with open arms. (Yes I know a little German also.)

To me it is common courtesy to try to understand the people you have to live with, do business and interact with on a daily basis.

So why is it that people come here and automatically expect me (Or any Natural Born American) to accommodate them and their culture, religion, language, food, and whatever the hell else?

I don't want this to sound like a Republican Rant, but this sh*&t here pisses me off.

Tolerance can only go so far. If you cannot communicate with me and you expect me to give you a job or help you in any way, how in the hell am I supposed to give you a job or help you?

30 and up. Dress code Strictly enforced

This past Saturday I went out clubbing. This club I went to was supposed to be one of those 30 and up "Dress to Impress" clubs, but as I am about to tell yall it was not.

First, this club is in what some folks in Dallas would call the "hood". It is in a part of Dallas called Oak Cliff. Now granted Oak Cliff is not as bad as the media here makes out. I like Oak Cliff. Whenever I hang out, that is where I usually am. Besides I grew up in a place that was 10 times worse than Oak Cliff, so I feel right at home there.

Anyways....

Like I said this place was supposed to be a "dress to impress, dress code strictly enforced place". So I do what I do. I put on some ironed slacks, a matching button up,a nice brim and shoes that matched the brim. If I say so myself, I looked rather dashing. And the looks I was getting from the ladies confirmed it for me.

So why is it I felt overdressed when I arrived at the scene?
There were cats in there with Air force Ones, white tee's and jeans. There were females in there that looked like they had just woke up and were going out to check their mail-box.

At first I thought I was at the wrong place. I was told this was a "classy joint".

Well, you know I did not let that stop me from "socializing".
I went to the bar, got my mandatory Corona and started to walk around so I could check out my "competition".

I told yall this was supposed to be a "30 and up" place right?
I felt like I was the oldest cat in there.

Granted I am used to going to the "adult" spots and seeing younger(fine)females, but the dudes usually are checked at the gate if they do not fit the bill.

There were cats in there with corn rolls, wearing gang colors.

Well as you might have guessed, I bounced after I drained that Corona.

That was not my type of spot. I am a little too old for that. Maybe 10 years ago I might have given it a chance. But now I am at the point in my life that if I feel the need to have my heater in the small of my back, I don't need to be where I am at. Besides, if I feel threatened, I am going to add to the black men in prison for killing another black man category, and I have too much going on in my life right now to f%%k up like that.

So, I went to my usual spot down the street from where I was at.

All things considered it was a pretty decent night.

My rare admission of a weakness

On my last post about the New Yorker magazine's cover of Big O and his wife, my man Sully over at Sulls Blog wrote a comment that I feel the need to respond to. Sulls Blog is a great blog. It is one of my favorites. I read it often. I don't always comment, because I read so many blogs, but I am a frequent visitor to his site. I suggest that my loyal readers check him out. (Check my side bar. I still cannot link anything.)

Anyways...

He asked in his comment if I was biased in my writing or if I was just too young to know some things.

Well, as usual Sully I agree with you. I am biased in my writing. I will explain in in a minute.

I am also too young to know some of the things you know. (All that can be remedied by me catching up on my history, but that is a different subject.) However I am not as young as I used to be, but I am not as old as I am going to get either.

So in response to your first observation, I am biased in my writing.

I write about stuff that either concerns me or anything that is on my mind at the time.

Most of the stuff that concerns me are race relations in my country and how we (me, Black Men and Black Women) are portrayed in my country.

And most of the time we are portrayed negatively.

That bothers me. A lot.

So in that area I am a bit biased.

I honestly believe what the constitution says about all men being created equal. I believe that all people should have the same rights and freedoms. But as you know the constitution was written by a bunch of bigoted white men that did not have anybody that did not look like them thoughts and feelings in mind when they wrote those famous words.

So I am Biased.

I admit that is not a good thing however.

But in my own defense, I am willing and I do listen to other's opinions. I value other people's thoughts and views. I don't care if you agree with me or not. We can have an intelligent debate about whatever it is we might disagree on. Besides that is how you learn.

The only way to get past the f^%cked up race relations here in the good ole US of A is positive dialogue between the different ethnic groups. No judging, no stereotypes, just honest dialogue.

So Sully I value your opinion.

I will try to work on my biased views.

But I can only see the world I live in through my eyes.

The above illustration is a picture posted in the New Yorker magazine, (a nationally viewed magazine by the way). As you can see it depicts Big 0 and Mrs. Big O in a very disrespectful way. They are seen doing the "terrorist jab", A picture of Bin Laden is seen in the background, the AmeriKKKan Flag is burning in the fireplace, Big O looks just like a Jihadist and his wife looks like Angela Davis.

WTF?!

If I did not know any better I would say that this illustration, that is supposed to be "satire", was being shown on the Faux News Network. Which it probably will be, but since I don't watch that racist excuse of "NEWS NETWORK" I will never know.

Why is this the only Presidential Candidate in History that has had a special on CNN that questions his Patriotism and his loyalty to this country?

What Race is "White"?

What race is "Black"

I work everyday where I see people come into my office with "White" or "Black" marked on their applications as their ethnicity. Why is that?

Every other ethnic group has a specific name. Asians are not called "Yellows", Mexicans are not called "Browns", Africans do not call themselves "Black", even the few Europeans that come into my office do not call themselves "white".

So why do we Americans classify ourselves by colors?

I looked up the definition of White and Black and this is what I found....

White- The combination of all the colors of the visible light spectrum.[1] White is an achromatic color, since it has no hue.

In nature, white results when transparent fibers, particles, or droplets are in a transparent matrix of a substantially different refractive index. Examples include classic "white" substances such as sugar, foam, pure sand or snow, cotton, clouds, and milk. Does this sound like any person you know?

I have known some "white" people that were so pale they looked transparent, but they did not fit the above definition.

So where did calling a persons ethnic background a color on the rainbow come from?

I do not know.

But I know that I am not "Black". If you want to describe me by a color, I would be a deep chocolate. So does that mean I have invented a new ethnic group of people?

Will having a black president have a positive effect on the Black community?

I don't know.

Black politicians do not have a good track record in helping their communities.

Take a look at every Black community in every city in every state here in America.

The schools are always underfunded and overcrowded. The housing market is always at the bottom of the barrel compared to other communities. The health services are always sub-par. There are no jobs in the Black community. And do I have to mention the crime rate?

All of this is happening under Black politicians.

So why does the Black majority think that Obama will make a difference?

How is he any different from all the other disappointments we have seen over the decades?

All we get from Black politicians are sound bites and staged marches on anything and anybody when they feel that they need to stay visible in the public eye.

All we get are powerful speeches invoking Martin Luther King and God.

What have they done for our welfare as American citizens?

Why is it that a common working class Black Man can get shot 50 times by the police and all we get is march?

Why is it that a young black man can kill another young black man on the streets of a black community and all we get is a sermon?

Why is it that High Schools in any Black community have a drop out rate at damn near 50% and all we get are sound bites?

Why is it that all the jobs that used to be in the black community are gone and all we get is it is the Mexicans fault?

Why Why Why!

So what good are black politicians?

Do we even need them?

Or am I the only one that is sick and tired of being sick and tired?

A couple of things have happened the last couple of days that I feel the need to talk about.

First...

Nelson Mandela has finally been removed from our countries terrorist watch list. I have blogged about this before. I was very disappointed in my country for having the audacity to put a hero like Mandela on the terrorist list. But he is off now, so it is time to move on.

Second....

A man who shot and killed 2 men for breaking into his NEIGHBORS house was vindicated from any wrong doing by a Judge this week.

In my humble opinion this was total Bullshit.

First off this guy's life was not in any danger what so ever.

Second, there was no one home at his neighbor's house, so the neighbor's life was not in any danger either.

Third, The man was told by the 911 dispatcher not to interfere, that the local fuzz was on the way. But, this being Texas, the guy said forget that. You can hear him cocking his shotty over the phone call to 911. He goes out of HIS safe house over to his NEIGHBORS house and proceeds to shoot the 2 "illegals" in the back as they were running away. All of this was on tape because the dummy carried his phone with him.

In my opinion this was straight up murder, but this being Texas, a good ole boy judge ruled that the guy was justified in shooting the two "illegals". The Judge ruled that he was "protecting" his neighbor's property.

Ain't that some shit?

A man will have his life spared for raping a child, but a man can shot and kill 2 unarmed men that were not a threat to him at all and get praised for it?

Only in America.

Now here is a case that I am kinda torn on.

This happened in my stomping grounds, PG County, MD. A 19 year old man supposedly ran over and killed a cop while fleeing from the fuzz in a stolen car. The man ended up getting killed while he was in solitary confinement. He was found strangled.

Here is my problem. What the hell was a 19 year old doing in a stolen car? Why was he not in College somewhere?
Why did he feel the need to run over and kill a cop?
Where was his parents while he was out thugging? It is obvious that this could not have been his first time running from the Police. So why is he considered a St. now?
Why is it that when something bad happens to a black person that got caught doing
bad shit, all of a sudden he was a good boy, that never did nothing to hurt nobody or he was trying to take care of his sick parents or his 9 babies from 8 different women? When do we as a people stand up and take responsibility for our actions?

Now it is pretty f%^&ED up that the boy was killed in police custody before he could defend his actions before a jury. Who knows, he could have been found Innocent.

But...

He put himself in a situation where even if he was not doing anything but "joyriding", he knew the consequences if the Police decided to interfere. He knew what he was doing was wrong and he choose to do it anyway. So therefore, I have no sympathy for him. I feel for his mother and the rest of his relatives, because his death was unnecessary. He did not have to die.

Now as for the Fuzz....

This whole thing stinks to high heaven. Of course the police were involved in this. One of their own was killed needlessly. Of course there was going to be some pay-back. You do not mess with the boy's in blue.

But here is the rub...

Can it be proven in a court of "law" that the fuzz was involved?

No.

This is an example of the same kind of shit I was talking about in the above paragraphs.

If the people that murdered this kid ever get caught and it turns out they were on the police force, they will be acquitted. They will be vindicated. They will be praised as hero's for doing their job to "protect" the public from another wild and crazy nigger.

If you think I am overreacting, just have a talk with Michael Bell's fiance and parents.

Gay people have the right to be misarable just like everyone else

Well, it was a historic week in California.
Gay people can now get married in the Golden State!!

Somebody please wake me up and tell me that this is a dream.

I never thought I would see the day here in this country with all the "Jesus freaks" in Congress, that 2 people that happen to be of the same sex and that happen to love one another, could publicly and legally share their love with the world for all to see.

I mean everyone knows that marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman.
Ain't that what the bible says?

Was this Great country not founded on what the Bible says?

Does "In God We Trust" ring any bells with anyone?

Americans all believe that marriage is sacred, right?

I mean if our "leaders" did not think that Marriage is sacred, would Congress allow T.V. shows like The Bachelor, Who wants to marry a millionaire, The Flavor of Love or the new show that came on tonight, Swing Town?

If our "leaders" thought that marriage was so sacred would Congress allow so many divorces every year?

If our "leaders" are so against Gay Love, why have they not put a stop to all the Catholic Priests that have been caught molesting little boys?

I mean they can put a stop to steroids in baseball, but they cannot stop something that goes against the very grain of what this great country was founded on?

I am a firm believer in the Bible. I believe in God with everything I am. I also believe that a person (or country)should not compromise it's beliefs for anyone or anything.
How can you take anyone or (any country) seriously that constantly shows the world how hypocritical it is?

I have no problem with Gay people getting married. They deserve all the happiness that everyone else in the world takes for granted. I cannot judge anyone, God is the only and the final Judge. I know what I believe and what I will allow in my life, and I refuse to compromise what I believe and what I hold dear. But this is only me. When my time comes to account for all my sins, I will only be held accountable for my sins, not my neighbors sins.

So I hope that every couple that exchanged vows this past week has a lasting and love filled marriage.

Besides, the way the world is now a days, a person should take any type of love and happiness they can get.

That being said, I personally think that my country should grow a pair and either change the constitution all together to fit today's world, or live by what they say they hold so sacred.

A Tribute to Charles King

This post is a little late because I had to get my mind right before I wrote it.

This past weekend was Father's Day weekend. This Holiday never really meant much to me because I did not have a real conversation with my father until I was 28 years old.

He was never around.
It was not all on him though. My Mom and my Father never had a healthy relationship. I must admit that he did try to be active in my life over my younger years, but my Mom always blocked him. So to be blunt, my Mom denied me the joy of having a Father. So my Pops was not a dead-beat Dad per-say, he just didn't have the balls to stand up to my Mother.

Anyways...
I finally grew a set of balls of my own and contacted him through one of my Aunty's and I flew out to North Carolina to see him. The resemblance was striking. The only difference was that I am about 2 inches taller than him. After that initial get together, we talked on the phone all the time and whenever I could, I would fly out to North Cacalac to see him.

He was a cool dude.

A lot like me.

My father died from complications from diabetes late last year.

The pain of that is still... well it hurts.

Like Hell.

I miss my father terribly. I tried to cram 28 years into the past 6 or 7, and I don't think I did it. He never let on how sick he was. He never told me anything about his illness. Every time we talked he was always up-beat and laughing, and threatening to disown me if I did not hurry up and give him a grandson.

After 28 years of not having a father in my life, I finally had a Father and a friend.

Charles King was my Father.

Charles King was my Homie.

Charles King was my Dude.

He never got to see his grand-child since I have not had a child yet,(I think I am the oldest living straight Black-Man in America with no kids. But Wifey and I are still trying.)
I have to be a father.Even if we have to adopt, I WILL get the satisfaction of knowing that I had a positive impact on a child's life.

So this is to all the Charles Kings in America. He was living proof that not all Black Men leave their children.

He maybe showed up late in my life, but he was right on time.

Gas or Food? Which one Today?

As I have stated on my blog before, I live in a suburb about 15 minutes south of downtown Dallas, Tx. My job is about 18 miles north of downtown. So I am driving about 33 miles 1 way to work everyday. As with the rest of America I am feeling the pain every time I go to fuel up my truck. Well I was feeling the pain, I am in the market for a new vehicle now because my truck was stolen 2 weeks ago. Right out of my fucking driveway! But that is a subject for another post.

Anyways....

There are about 6 or 7 (give or take a couple) gas stations within a 3 mile radius of my neighborhood. There is a Min-yards market fuel stop, 2 Exxons, 3 Chevrons, and 2 SuperWal-Marts. Every one of these gas stations have different prices. Even the two Wal-Marts.

FYI...
Do not go to a Wal-Mart to get gas. Their gas is always cheaper than everyone else, but you get what you pay for, ya dig?

Here is my problem...

How in the hell can all these different places have different prices even though they are the same damn company? Every one of the Chevrons have different prices for their whip juice, even though 2 of them are right beside each other! It is the same with the Exxons. The Wal-Marts have a little distance between them, but the prices are still different.

Now this is just my opinion, but even though I am sure that each of these establishments are owned by somebody different, they still operate under the same flag. So should it not be company policy that if you operate under let's say... Exxon, your prices should be the same as all the other Exxons? Is that not good business?

Is this not an example of price gauging?

I can go to any Wal-Mart in the country, and if I want to buy a 6 pack of socks, the socks will be the same price no matter what Wal-Mart I am in. Believe me, I have checked. I should buy stock in Wally-World I am in one so much.

So what is the difference with gas?

How can my government explain this to me? Is there not some sort of Government regulation that covers this? How can these big-wig oil executives fix their mouths to say that they do not engage in price gauging, when the evidence is right there for everyone with a vehicle to see?

Well, I guess that is enough bitching for now. I mean what will it change?
I have to drive to get to work. I have to drive to get food. I have to drive to do anything, since the DART (DALLAS AREA RAPID TRANSIT)does not come out here where I live.

This is one of the biggest reasons I miss the East. I would not drive at all if I was back home. I would be on the Metro everyday with a big smile on my face.

But ol well...

The jury in this Negro's child-rape case had the nerve to acquit this motherfucker. He is on a tape of his own making having sex with a girl that is obviously under the age of 18, doing stuff to this girl that the good working class folks in West Virginia would not do to their own cousins, and at the end of this tape of his own making,he does the ultimate act of disrespect...He urinates on the girl.

The jury was privy to all this sick shit. They saw the tape. The only defense that this negro had was, "IT WAS NOT ME".

Give me a fucking break!!

Stevie Wonder saw the tape and he said 'yep that IS that nigga'. And this Jury could not see that?

Let me flip the script the only way that I can. Yes, I am going to turn this into a Black, White thing, that is what I do.

Let's say that 'ole Kells directed a tape of him having sex with 14 year old Becky White. Lets say that in this production of child porn, Mr. Pied Piper of R&B had the nerve to stick his head in between young Ms. Whites butt-checks, and commences to move his head around like he was at a state fair bobbing for apples. Let's say that in this sick amateur film The King of R&B had his penis lodged in young massa Becky's mouth. And then at the end of this masterpiece Mr. "You remind me of my Jeep", climaxes all over Becky's back, turns her over and then urinates in her face.

What would you think that America would say once this tape got out?

Why was Black America not enraged over this?

The tape does not show any evidence of rape. It was consensual. This was not the first time that this little slut did this.

The point I am trying to make, is that a Black life (male or female)has less value than a white life here in the good ole US of A.

What are your feelings on this shit?

Do you think this fool got off because of who the victim was, or who he is?

If he was one poor blogger named Dirty Red, that was not world famous and worth millions of pesos (I say Pesos because that is what the current dollar is worth right now)would the jury have acquitted him?

Or if the young girl in the tape was white, would the jury have locked this fool up?

Or am I over dramatizing this whole thing?

I am sick of writing about shit like this. To me this is an injustice to ALL women not just Black women, but since I am a Black Man and this site is called A BlackMans View, I can only see this mess through my eyes.

Every woman in America should boycott this Negro.

Every man in America should boycott this fool,(if they consider themselves men), since he disrespected not only Black Queens, but White Queens, Hispanic Queens and Asian Queens.

Or maybe I am a member of the small society of men here in America that knows the value of women, self respect and self dignity.

I saw a very interesting story on CNN this morning about how the city leaders of Malibu, Ca has asked Kenneth Starr to help them in drafting some kind of legislation to help them put the "stalkarotzi" in check. Why they asked Mr. Starr to help them I have no clue, (since they do not need to find any stains on any celebrity's clothing or undergarments.) I guess they think Mr. Starr has something to offer... Anyways I digress... Back on Topic.

The paparazzi is and has been in my opinion a very dangerous organization. They do some outlandish s%^&t to get the "money shot" of any Mrs.or Mr. "I'm hot right now". They block off intersections, they jump on cars, they hide in trees, anything to get a picture to sell to the tabloids. I don't understand it. And the s#@$%T is getting worse.

To me this should be considered invasion of privacy, which is a crime, but it is not.

I believe that celebrities have the same rights as the rest of us common folk here in America.

What gives these stalkers with cameras the right to make money off of someone Else's discomfort? Why does the city of Malibu have to go and hire a camera loving freak like Kenneth Starr to spend millions of dollars of tax-payers money to write a 30 minute report on how bad the paparazzi is?

Is this not common sense? I mean there has got to be a law somewhere in the State of California that prohibits the kind of stunts the paparazzi pull.

I have seen pictures of how these stalkers have totally surrounded a celebrity's car to the point that the guy could not drive off without fear of running someone over. I have seen pictures of how these fools have chased celebrities cars through busy intersections and how they gain access to some celebrity homes illegally.

Is any of this not against the law in California?

I'll bet you a tank of gas, that if a celebrity shoots and kills one of these idiots, they would hang the guy by his nuts off the top of MGM studios.

All in the name of the 1st amendment.

The Hyprocrisy of our Democracy

The city of Farmers Branch, Texas was in the news again yesterday. This suburb of Dallas has tried to pass an ordinance that bans apartment complexes from renting to "illegal aliens". The ordinance passed through the city council with flying colors, but some of the citizens sued the city for discrimination and the bill got stalled. Well, yesterday the Texas Supremes ruled that the city had no right to even discuss this matter and they overturned the ordinance. They said that only the federal government has the right to decide what to do with people that are here "illegally". So the leaders of Farmers Branch are taking this all the way to DC to appeal to the big Supremes on the big hill.

This is my problem with this whole thing.

I have no problem with immigrants. My Grandparents came here from the Carribean. There is no one in America that can say that they are pure Americans. Unless of course you talk to Native Americans, and there are so few of them left who can find one to talk to? (that was a joke people... just a little jokey joke!!)

Anyways...

My problem is that I guess I am turning this into a Black thing. I am sorry, but I see everything as a Black thing. I know a time in this country not too long ago when Black people (naturalized American Citizens) could not rent apartments in certain areas. There was a time when Black People (naturalized American Citizens) could not go into certain restaurants, or could not use certain toilets in this great country of ours. There was a time in this great country of ours when Black People (naturalized American Citizens) would get stretched from a tree just by looking at a white man in the eye. To make matters worse, our own government did not lift a finger to help. As a matter of fact they condoned it.But through strengh, perseverance, heartbreak and much loss, that has changed. Now we can do pretty much anything and go where ever we want.

Now back to my problem.

If any American citizen, Black, White, Asian and even some Hispanic Americans, where to go into another country against that countries laws what kind of privileges do you think we would have?

Do you think we would be able to march in the streets and demand to be treated like citizens?

Do you think that that government would change it's street signs and have T.V. stations to accommodate our language?

Do you think we would be able to find jobs that ca tor to us and our cultures?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, do a little reading on Mexico and see how that country treats people that go there "illegally".

I know for a fact that if you could not speak the language, you would be lucky to get a job as a street sweeper.

And try conducting a "civil rights" march on foreign soil and see how long it is before you get beat down by the neighborhood cops and then get deported.

So why in the hell does the US just randomly GIVE out rights that my forefathers had to FIGHT and DIE to get?

What gives these new immigrants the right to demand that MY rights as a citizen that was paid for with the blood of my people, just be given to them?

That is my problem.

I could give a damn about how many immigrants want to come here. It is my government that I am sick of. Our Government and Big Business are using these poor people to make a profit, and they are using the accomplishments from my forefathers blood sweat and tears to do it.

And that just ain't right.

Spare the Rod, Spoil the Child

Before I get into the meat of this post, I am going to tell you a little story about my childhood. It was times like the one I am 'fixin' (I have been in Texas way too long) to describe that helped shape me into the man that is writing these words for yall too read.

Anyway here is little blast from my past....

When I became a Senior in High School my Mom extended my curfew from 9:00 on school nights to 10:00. Weekends was extended from 11:00 to Midnight. I followed these rules dillegently because I knew the consequences if I did not. I stretched them to the breaking point of course, but I never broke them.

Well about midway through my Senior year I began talking to an Army Recruiter. I took the entrance test, passed it and talked my mom into letting me sign up. I was going to report to Basic Training at Ft. Jackson, SC one month after I graduated.

Well graduation came around and my Mom extended my curfew again by 2 hours. I thought I was a "man" now, since I was about to leave to "serve my country", so the night before I was supposed to ship out, I got drunk with my guys and stumbled home around 5 in the morning.

Well guess who was waiting on me when I fell through the front door?

My Mom Dukes!!

Not only was she waiting, she had a belt that I was very accostumed to seeing in her hand. She "calmly" asked me where the hell I had been, and who the hell I thought I was coming into her house at 5 in the morning. She then told me to go to my room strip down to my draws and wait on her. (Remember, I was 17 and leaving never to live under her roof again in just a few short hours.)

Well I tried to argue but... To keep this as short as possible, I got my ass tore out the frame.

And to make matters worse my Mom kissed me after she beat me down, told me she loved me amd added that as long as I lived under her roof, BLAH BLAH BLAH, you know the rest.

The moral of this little story is that parents need to discipline their kids. Parents need to stop trying to be friends with their kids and be their kids parents. Parents are responsible for the actions of their under-age kids.

While I was driving to work the other day, I heard on the radio where a man was sent to jail because his dilenquent daughter renigged on a deal she had with a judge to finish her GED. The question that was the topic of the show was should the man have gotten time behind something his daughter did.

His daughter was 16.

My answer....

YES. Not only Yes but HELL Yes!!

In my opinion this man is totally at fault.

First...

Where the hell was he or the mother when his daughter was failing out of school in the first place?

Second...

Why did a judge have to get involved in his family buisness?

So yeah this dude should have been held responsible for the actions that he could have prevented by doing what a father is supposed to do. Of course I don't know the whole story, but from what I gleaned while fighting traffic, I say F@$k this dude, and the judge did right.

You Must Not Know 'Bout Me!

Michael Eric Dyson was the guest speaker at my church yesterday.

This is a deep brother. I don't know if he has a theological background or if he went to seminary school, but he has the gift.

He said some things that got me to thinking.
He said that since Black People were forced over here to the good 'ole US of A, White People have constantly forced us to stay behind them, which is true. He said that since we have always been in the so called "back seat" here in America, we have been forced to learn about how White People are.
Again True.
We study White People. We know their habits, their dislikes, their choice of foods, their favorite pastimes, we even know how White People worship their God.

We have to know them in order to survive here. We had to learn their language, their customs, their holidays, we have voted for them in every election this country has ever had. We were forced to take their names, we have married into their families. Some of us have lost our own identities and sense of worth because of the way we have been forced to assimilitate into their culture.

But on the flip side White People have not learned about us. I guess they have felt over the years that they did not need to. They don't know about our traditions, they don't know our foods, they don't know how we worship, they don't know our music, they don't know about what goes on in our neighborhoods. Sometimes they don't even know our language.

They just don't know.

They think they know about us from watching CNN, FOX NEWS, MSNBC, BET, ESPN and reading their local newspapers. But they just don't know.

They don't understand when someone like Jermiah Wright says something about the country that has treated us worse than Harry Potter's aunt and uncle treated him. (I am a huge fan of those books. Don't knock em until you read em!)

They don't understand when someone like Michelle Obama says something like "This is the first time in my adult life that I am proud of my country." They don't know us, therefore they don't understand.

They don't understand why the Black community got so outraged about the JENA 6. They don't know us, therefore they don't understand.

They don't understand Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson. They did not understand Malcom X. They think they understand Martin Luther King, but they don't.

They think that we should be grateful to them for everything that we have accomplished in this country. Granted, there are a few White People that fought side by side with their fellow Black Americans, and there are some that will fight with us today if they have too, but as a whole they don't know about us.

That is the problem with America.

That is the problem with our "LEADERS".

Anything that you don't understand, you don't like. If you don't like it, you don't try to get to know it. If you don't try to get to know it, you listen to other people's views instead of trying to learn for your self.

Everything that White People think they know about us has come from second and third hand sources.

This does not apply to all White Americans however, like I said some have been out in the fields with us.

But as a whole, White Folks just do not know about us.

And that is a damn shame.

What does it all mean?

Well... I am going to tell you.

I am about to post a quote from a man in Kentucky, Hill-Billy's next "big win". I am sure that this is not the only person that feels this way, as we saw last night in West Virginia.

Before you read this keep in mind that this is the year of our lord 2008, not 1964.

Race,” Patrick said matter-of-factly. “I’ve talked to people—a woman who was chair of county elections last year, she said she wouldn’t vote for a black man.” Patrick said he wouldn’t vote for Obama either.

Why not?

“Race. I really don’t want an African-American as President. Race.”

What about race?

“I thought about it. I think he would put too many minorities in positions over the white race. That’s my opinion. After 1964, you saw what the South did.” He meant that it went Republican. “Now what caused that? Race. There’s a lot of white people that just wouldn’t vote for a colored person. Especially older people. They know what happened in the sixties. Under thirty—they don’t remember. I do. I was here.”

This quote came from the New York Times.

There you have it folks. Obama will get trounced in Kentucky the same way he got his ass handed to him in WV, PA, NY and OH.

Why you may ask?

Things have not changed as much as some people would have you think, huh?

Of course this is no surprise to me. I don't need some fancy reporter from some fancy newspaper to tell me what I already know.

Some Americans do not want a Black man to represent them. Not just White Americans, but some Black Americans, Hispanic Americans and Asian Americans.

A Black man was never supposed to get this far.

A Black man was supposed to have gotten killed by now or he will get killed, or He does not have enough experience, or he attended a "racist" church for 20 years, or he doesn't connect to immigrants,or he doesn't connect with "blue" collar (ie white) voters, or the way he handles a basketball he must be from the "hood" or even my favorite, he cannot bowl.

Excuse after Excuse have been made on why this Black man is not qualified to be the leader of the good Ole US of A.

When will this country admit the truth, That no one thinks a Black man is intelligent enough to be Commander in Chief of the "United" States Of America?

Some people in this country still believe that a Black Man is the inferior race. Of course there is nothing to back up this stupid assumption, but some people still believe it.

Some people still believe that the only thing a Black Man is good at is singing, dancing, sports and making babies that we don't take care of. Again there is no proof behind this asinine assumption, but some people still believe it.

Some people still believe that all Black Men are criminals.

Where is the proof?

What will we have to do as men to show the world that we are MEN?

MEN that love their families, respect the law, believe in God and love this dysfunctional-ass country.

We are MEN that are intelligent, values education and some of us are willing to die to get the rights that we have earned.

We are MEN, that by God's greatness were made with hair like lambs wool and skin the color of bronze. Made in HIS (God's) image.

But above all that.....

WE ARE MEN.

Diary of a Unsatisfied Black Man

I am sitting here doing a a little self analysis of myself and I do not like what I am discovering. I feel like am behind the curve ball of my life. I should be further along than I am. I should not be an office worker, I should be an office manager. I should have my Master's degree by now. I should be a father. Well,I should KNOW I am a father, I might be a father, I just have not been informed yet. (I was a wild boy in the military. I have "been" with women all over Europe, and half of these 50 states.)

My finances should be better than they are. I should not at this point in my life have to decide what bill gets paid this pay period and which bill has to wait until... whenever.

In other words I am very dissatisfied with the way I am living.

Don't get me wrong, I am further along than a lot of the cats I grew up with. The ones that are not dead, locked up, been locked up or on the way to be locked up, that is. Which is exactly the situation I would have been in if I had not left for the Army.

I have a woman that loves me, I am a home owner and I somewhat have the respect of my peers.

I just want more in my life.

Am I wrong for feeling like this?

I am a very blessed man. God has always provided everything that I have ever needed.

But... (you know there is always a but)....

I am not satisfied.

I want Kids.

I want to be financially secure. I don't want to be rich, I just want to be alright, ya know?

I want to be in a position where I can start to change some of the things I blog about that irritate me. IE..Mentoring our youth, the discrepancies in our JUST-US System, Education for our youth and our adults.

I just want to make a difference in the world that God has given me. So far I have not done anything that is of note. At least I don't think so.
Maybe I am just being hard on myself.

But If I am not hard on myself, then who will be?

If I don't push myself to be better than I am at this point, who will?

I know I like writing. I think I am pretty damn good at it. Maybe this is what God wants me to do.

I have always enjoyed writing.

Maybe I should use this talent to get what I want out of life.

One Man's Freedom Fighter Is Another Man's Terrorist

I was over at the Fields blog this morning and I saw a link on his side bar that pissed me off. It seems that some dude thinks that ALL Black American Bloggers are fear mongering, Anti US, living in the past, can't get over slavery and years of injustice, assholes. He seems to think that we talk too much about the wrongs in our beautiful country and not enough about all the rights. It seems to me that this brother is sadly misinformed. Yes, I did say brother. This M$#%@$#f#$@$@ is Black.
I have many links on my sidebar to Black Blogs that are informative, funny, and that discuss all topics from fatherhood, to everyday life experiences. I even slide into different topics here on A Black man's View. I don't always talk about the negatives in our society. But I guess that is what makes this country so great, everyone has a right to their own opinion, no matter how ignorant and ass backwards it is.
Oh well, I guess after this post I will be added to the Anti US blogs on this assholes sidebar.

Nelson Mandela is on the United States terrorist watch list.

How can this be, you may ask?

It seems that Mr. Mandela was placed on South Africa's watch list while he was fighting for the freedom of his fellow black South Africans during that country's apartheid era. The white South African Government thought he was a threat to their democracy, so they banned him. The United States followed that racist country's lead and did the same.

After all this time and after all Mr. Mandela's accomplishments, he is still on my country's Terrorists Watch List. He has to get special permission to travel to the good ole US of A.

How can a man that has spoken out and denounced Terrorism be on OUR watch list?

How can a man that has fought all his life and even went to jail for the freedoms that were denied his fellow black countrymen be a terrorist?

How can an ex- President of a US ally be a terrorist?

I wonder if the leader of Northern Ireland is considered a terrorist?

Is Russia's ex President Putin considered a terrorist?

What about that crazy MF down in Venezuela? Is he considered a terrorist?

Sometimes I wonder about the good ole US of A.

Why are people of color the only people that are considered dangerous when they speak out against the wrongs that have been inflicted upon them by the hands of the majority?

Just Do It Already!!

Something happened this morning that really bothered me.

Maybe it is just me being me, I don't know.

Anyway let me tell you about it.

My wife told me yesterday that she needed a few dollars for gas.
I did not reply, I just said OK.

Well this morning I got up early enoungh (I get up at ass-crack thirty anyway)so that I could go out and get gas for her so that she would not have to worry about it. I did not tell her I was getting gas for her truck, I just went out and did it.
Anyway, I get back to the house, jump in the shower and proceed to get my clothes ready for work.
She wakes up and says, "I thought I told you I need some money."
Just the tone of her voice set me off.
I told her in a pleasant way (of course)that she said she needed gas, and her truck had gas.
Well her mouth fell open and she apologized for her attitude.

What bothered me (and is still bothering me) is that I am the type of man that does not need to be told that something needs to be done. If I see that the trash needs to be taken out, I take out the trash. If dishes need to be washed I wash dishes. If one of our vehicles need gas, then I go to the gas station. After whatever needs to be done is done, I don't broadcast it. You just see the results of whatever I have did.

As long as we have been together she should know that.

I do what I do because it needs doing. I don't do things for praise, or to be recognized or for people to say, "you did good".

I do not like attention. I don't like the spot-light. I prefer to stay in the corner and watch. But if I see a person needs help, then I help them.

Besides, God always sees what I do, so my payback will come through him.

I cannot stand a person that is only helpful when a camara is on. Or a person that does something and then tells anyone that will listen what they just did. Or a person that only does something if it will benefit them.

The old saying is true, Actions speak louder that words.

I think the world would be a better place if people would stop all the damn show-boating, and "Just Do It".

It's Just-Us

The man pictured above is the first Black District Attorney in Texas history, District Attorney Craig Watkins. During the course of his first term as Dallas County DA, he has gotten pardons for 16 men who were wrongly convicted by the American Just-Us system. The latest man that has been granted his freedom was convicted in 1981 of a rape he did not commit. He has spent the last 27 years as an innocent man lost in the system, put there by a racist jury and an even more racist judge.

As you might have guessed, most of the men who were found innocent DECADES after having their life taken from them, are Black. No one listened to them when they proclaimed their innocence.

No one listened.

Now people are being forced to listen. America is being forced to see that it's so called "freedom for all" is a bunch of Bullshit.

Thousands of Black men are convicted each year behind lying witnesses, biased juries, and racists judges.

To me it is not hard to see the reason that so many Black Men kill other Black Men. In the American Just-Us System a Black Life has no value. How else can you explain why so many Black Men lose the most productive parts of their lives by being locked up for crimes they did not commit? How else can you explain how our "law enforcement" officers can shoot at an unarmed man 50 times, kill him, and walk out of the courtroom to applause?

What would happen if the guy that was shot at 50 times were White, Blond haired with Blue eyes? Things that make you go Hmmmm.

I am not saying that all the Black Men that are in prison are Innocent. The majority of those Negros need to be right where they are at. I know a few that need to be locked up that are still walking around breathing free air.

However....

The majority of wrongly convicted men in prisons are Black. Does that mean Black Men commit more crimes?

Of course not.

What it means is that we are labeled. We are judged before we are even born.

Black men are told from birth that we are more prone to die from a violent act than any other race. We are told that the chances that we will end up in prison are 4 out of 10. We are told that our lives do not mean anything by the music we listen to, by the movies we watch and by the news that is broadcast 24 hours a day.

So it is no shock to me that another Black man was exonerated after being wrongfully convicted.

Sometimes it seems to me that the only people that actually see how this country is are born Black.

Sometimes I think that the majority of White People in this country walk around with computer enhanced blinders on.

Through these blinders (that must be issued at every White Birth),they see a fair and balanced America. They see an America where any person can become successful through hard work. They see an America where the American Dream is actually attainable.

I however was born with eyes that see the truth.
There is no "American Dream".
There is no American "JUSTICE" system. At least not for me or men that look like me.
I see that I have to WORK 5 times harder than my white counterpart just to get what is GIVEN to them by their being born white in America.
I see that if I am pulled over by our "law enforcement" officers, I damn near have to strip down butt booty blessed naked to avoid being shot at 50 times because they fear I have a weapon on me.

Now granted, this does not apply to all White Americans. There are a few that are struggling to survive just like me.

But that does not make it easier for me to swallow this bitter juice that is being forced down my throat by my country.

Innocent before proven Guilty?

Josh Howard, a member of the Dallas Mavericks, did an interview on Michael Irving's radio show this past Friday.

Before I get started on this, let me be clear in saying that I am no fan of the Mavericks. I think they are weak, and they don't have the balls or the mental strengh to win when it comes down to the big game. There are a few exceptions on this squad, Jerry Stackhouse,Jason Kidd and Brandon Bass are a few names that come to mind.

As a whole they rely too much on Dirk Nowitzki, who has proven time and time again that he does not have the balls to lead a team. The Dallas Mavericks will never win a championship with the team they have now.

Saying that, let me say this....

Josh Howard is a pretty good baller. If he were on another team he probably would be an All star.

However....

During the above mentioned interview with Michael Irving, he proved that money cannot buy intelligence.

During this interview Josh Howard admitted that he smoked weed during the off season.

If my company did not make me pee in a cup at random, I would definitely be one of the millions that get lifted. In my younger days I would light up a Philly quick. But now I am like the average American. I have a family to support and I needs my paper, I don't need to give Mr. Charlie any reasons to not pay me or to replace my Black ass with a Mexican. (No offense to my Hispanic brothers and sisters, but you know what's up).

For the life of me I don't understand some young Black Men. I wonder if they stop to think about the millions of kids that look up to them and want to emulate them.

Well, all I can say is we need less Baby Mama's and Baby Daddies, and more Wife's and Husbands. Maybe then, our young boy's (and girls) will grow up to be men (and women)and leave the little boy's (and girls)in the pictures above their parents fireplaces.

Before I get started with this early Sunday morning rant(I need to hurry this post up.. Rev Jeremiah Wright is going to be speaking at the church I attend (occasionally) this morning, Friendship West Baptist)I need to send a shout to my man Folk over at Black Folks Don't Swim.blogspot.com He has tagged me to participate in a little "get to know your fellow blogger" deal. I have to tell the world 6 things that most people would never guess about me. I also have to tag 6 other bloggers and link them in a post. Well I had my 6 things all ready to go, but for some reason Blogspot will not let me link anything. And since I am not the one to do anything half-ass, I have to get this straightened out before I hang my dirty drawers on the fence. So Folk I am not ignoring you, I just need to get my shyte straight first.

That being said, back to my rant.

I was over at DJ Black Adams site last night and I read a post that deeply disturbed me. It seems that Damon Wayans is up to his bullshit again. He has a skit on Way-out TV that is very, for lack of a better term, Fucked up. This skit is called "Abortion Man".

The skit starts off with a young Black man spending his time doing (what else) playing Video Games. He receives a call from his girlfriend that he reluctantly accepts since the game he is playing is more important than she is. She tells him that she is pregnant with his child. He asks the Chris Rock line "so what you gonna do?" He then proceeds to fake that he is happy, and of course she believes her "man". After the call ends, this boy sticks his head out of his apartment window and yells for help. Abortion Man shows up and tells this boy not to worry. Abortion Man then hunts down this boys Babies Mama, accosts her, punches her in the stomach, pushes her down and stomps her until a bloody fetus pops out of her body. Abortion man then flies back to the boys apartment,daps it up with the boy and the skit ends.

Now I have to ask, what the fuck is wrong with that fake-ass black man Damon Wayans?

Dreams vs.Hill-Billy

I had a rather pleasant dream last night, and then I woke up this morning.

In my dream Barack Obama crushed Hill-Billy in PA. He not only won in Philly, but out in the sticks as well.

In my dream Hill-Billy conceded and told America that she is truly grateful for the support that she really did not deserve. She thanked all the people in the "little" states and she added how much she really appreciated the low turnout for her during all those earlier caucuses. She apologized to all the Black Americans that she and her husband offended during the course of this little title fight. She pledged that she would keep trying to unite these divided states and that she would continue to fight for the will of the people, not the will of the Clinton's.

In my dream she apologized to the American Public about all the negativity that she has shown her opponent and all the lies about her experience of "running" the country while serving as first lady. She apologized to all the young women in the country that admired her "strength" amid all the adversity she has faced in her "tortured" life as a pampered rich girl growing up in the lily white suburbs of Chicago. She also pointed out the fact that a woman cannot talk about how strong she is and how much of a fighter she is one minute and then turn around and start complaining about how hard it is to be a woman in America the next. She reminded all the young people aspiring to be politicians that negative campaigning is not always a good thing. She told all the youngsters that the truth is always the best campaign strategy, and that the truth will always win over lies.

In the end of my dream she told the American public that although she still thinks that she would make a better President than Obama, she feels that she must step aside for the benefit of the American public and also for the benefit of the Dum-o-cratic party.
